Lost and Found:
Trick and Treat (A Halloween Special)
...
"Happy Halloween, Monty!" Sunny said excitedly as he handed Monty a small pumpkin. Sunny wore a sparkly purple and black witch hat with a matching sparkly purple and black robe/dress with the ends cut in a jagged pattern. The whole Daycare was decorated with black and orange streamers, black and white striped balloons, plump pumpkins, and paper skeletons.
Monty took the pumpkin, then gave it to the little girl he found without her parents in the pizza plex. He heard her crying near one of the trashcans near Freddy's area. She wore a glittery pink princess dress. When he found her, he immediately knew Sunny would love the dress she wore. The little girl accepted the pumpkin and stopped crying.
"Oh my stars! Hellooo, princess! You must be one of Monty's new Lost and Found kids!" Sunny said excitedly as he picked her up in his arms. "Jackie Sanderson. Age 5. Favorite Glamrock: Freddy," Sunny said out loud. Monty couldn't help but to frown. There has been so many Freddy fans recently from the kids he had been finding.
Sunny placed the little girl down gently and noticed her dress. "My what a lovely pink dress you have on! It has glitter all over it! Glitter is my favorite! It's so sparkly!" Sunny said as he gestured to his glittery purple and black robe/dress. The little girl smiled, hugging her small pumpkin tightly.
"Come join us over at the Activity Corner! We are wrapping each other up like mummies in toilet paper!" Sunny said excitedly. Sunny gave her a hand and she took it. His long boney fingers engulfing her tiny pink hand. The little girl nodded, forgetting all about being lost, and following the witch clad sun animatronic over to the Activity Corner. Monty hesitated before following behind. Sunny turned his head over to the tall alligator.
"Why aren't you dressed up, Monty?" asked Sunny. Monty crossed his arms over his broad chest and shrugged while he walked. "...Didn't feel like it," he said. Sunny smiled a small smile. "But it's Halloween! It's fun to dress up! I bet we have something in the Pretend Chest you can try on," he said. Monty just shrugged, which Sunny took as a yes.
Once they got to the Activity Corner, Jackie immediately joined the kids in wrapping a kid up in two ply toilet paper. Sunny did a front roll over to the small cardboard cut out stage that was like a mini theater for the little kids to put on acts and play dress up. Sunny went behind the red curtain and immediately came out with a large chest with silk scarves and hats overflowing out of it. Monty huffed. "Don't bother lookin' for a costume for me, Starhead. I ain't gonna dress up," Monty said, but Sunny ignored him as he dug around through the clothes.
"Let's see...We have a mask and a cape...you could be a superhero!" Sunny said, lifting up a blue and red cape and mask to the alligator. Monty shook his head. Freddy was already dressed up as a superhero for today. He didn't want to look like he was copying him.
Sunny put the articles of clothing away. "Ok! Hm...How bout a wizard! You could be the wizard to my witch!" Sunny laughed a little too loudly for comfort. Monty cringed at the sight of the wizard robe. It was full of blue and purple glitter and silver stars. He was not going to be covered in glitter again. How could Sunny even like glitter? Wasn't he worried about it clogging his gears? Sunny put the robe and cone hat for the wizard outfit away.
Monty said no to the knight outfit, the frog outfit, the cowboy outfit and a very big no to the bunny costume. Monty sighed a loud sigh when Sunny got to the bottom of the chest. "Just face it, Sunny. I ain't gonna be dressed up for...wait hold on...what is that?" he asked when Sunny pulled out a faux leather, black and grey patchwork jacket with red stitches all over it.
"Oh, this? This is our monster outfit...basically like Frankenstein's monster...but more punk like," he explained, showing the silver lightning bolts on the sleeves. Monty took the jacket and tried it on. Must have been from an old show because it smelled musty; possibly never worn by the kids in all the years this place has been open. It was a little small, most likely an XXL for a human, but it was something. Sunny clapped his hands excitedly.
"Hooray! We found you a costume!" Sunny said excitedly, then gave him the accessories that came with the costume. Plastic spike bracelets, spike choker, and neon yellow lightning bolt shaped sunglasses. Monty allowed Sunny to use washable markers on him to draw stitches all over his face and hands, but he didn't allow him to touch his hair. Monty had more of a Deathhawk than a Mohawk at this point, but he was starting to like it, and Deathhawk sounded cooler.
"Ok! You are done, Punkenstein!" Sunny giggled. Monty gave Sunny a smug look. "Ok, I wore a costume...now what?" he asked. Sunny picked up a pumpkin and a few markers. "Now we do Halloween activities!" he said excitedly. Sunny called the kids over to pick a pumpkin and head over to the craft table. All the kids eagerly picked out their small pumpkins and came over to where the two animatronics were. Glitter, glue, paper, buttons, googley eyes, markers, and colorful feathers were already on the tables for the kids to use to decorate their pumpkins.
"Why aren't we carving our pumpkins? Isn't that what you are supposed to do?" asked Jackie, speaking for the first time since Monty found her. Sunny sat down next to Monty at the table. "Because decorating is way more fun! Plus your pumpkin will last longer!" Sunny explained in a cheerful voice.
One kid in a fairy costume decorated her pumpkin to look like Chica. Another kid in a Ghostface costume decorated his pumpkin to look like an alien. It had multiple googley eyes on it with green glitter. Jackie didn't seem to want to leave the pumpkin carving idea alone.
"I'm careful with a knife, Mr. Sun-" Jackie said, but Sunny interrupted her and showed everyone his pumpkin. It was a pirate pumpkin. "Captain Glitterbeard!" he said, getting a laugh out of all the kids.
...
After the pumpkin decorating, the kids all wanted to tell spooky stories. They all built a huge fort out of pillows and blankets, then went inside where it was somewhat dark, but not too dark, because Sunny didn't want it to be "too spooky." The kids asked for a flashlight, but both Sunny and Monty refused for flashlights to be used. The kids didn't ask why and decided to tell their spookiest stories. Sunny and Monty had to duck very low to be able to fit inside the fort the kids had built. They all sat on pillows and hugged their favorite plushies.
"Ok! Who would like to go first?" asked Sunny. All the kids raised their hands at once. Sunny chose the pirate kid to go first because he raised his hand 1.2 seconds faster than the rest of the kids. The pirate kid, named Max, straightened up where he sat and began his tale. "This is the story of the Hook Handed killer!" he began. Sunny's white eyes widened in terror. The boy started his story, having to go back a few times because he forgot a few important details, but it didn't make Sunny any less scared.
Monty looked down when he felt something squeezing his hand. Sunny's boney fingers were wrapped around his own. Sunny didn't seem to be aware that he was doing it. His focus was on the kid telling the "spooky" story. The pirate kid was grinning from ear to ear as he got to the end of his tale.
"...And when the man opened the car door...he found...a hook!" the boy screamed as he lifted his plastic pirate hook from his right hand. Sunny cried out in terror, gripping Monty's hand tighter. Monty cleared his throat. Sunny glanced over at him. Monty's eyes looked down at their hands. Sunny gasped and quickly let go.
"S-sorry! I didn't realize..." Sunny said in embarrassment. rubbing his hands together. Monty raised an eyebrow from behind his lightning bolt shaped sunglasses. "Were you seriously terrified by the kid's story?" he asked. Sunny nodded his head fast. "Weren't you?! Max clearly stated that the man had a hook for a hand! A hook!" Sunny exclaimed as he curled his long boney index finger into a hook shape. Monty couldn't help but to laugh. "It's just a story, Sunny. There's no hook handed men around here," Monty said. Sunny didn't seem to calm down from that statement.
A few more kids told their stories, making Sunny flinch or jump. A few times Monty caught Sunny grabbing onto his arm, tugging at his jacket, or even grabbing his hand again. Whenever he would point it out, Sunny would flinch away in embarrassment, then fumble his boney fingers together.
"Alr-righty...I think that's e-enough spooky stories for one day..." Sunny said after the fifth story was told.
"Awwwwwwww" the kids groaned in unison.
"Just one more!" pleaded Max.
"Please Mr. Sun?" pleaded Amy.
"Pleeeaaasseee?" pleaded Johnny.
Sunny glanced over at Monty who had his arms crossed over his chest and was chuckling softly, clearly not phased by any of the scary stories the children told. Sunny hesitated before finally giving in and allowing just one more story. "But if you already told a story, you can't tell one again...we need to be fair and let anyone who hasn't told a story yet be able to go..." Sunny said, which got a few groans from the little kids.
Jackie raised her hand shyly. Sunny noticed and pointed at her. "Jackie! Wh-what kind of s-spooky story do you have?" Sunny asked, trying not to stutter. Jackie took a deep breath and exhaled, obviously very nervous, but wanting to tell what she considered to be the spookiest story.
"I heard this story from my sister..." she explained. Sunny placed his fingers over his mouth, drawing his knees close under his chin. Monty smiled and shook his head. Jackie smoothed out her glittery pink dress and began her scary story:
"A long time ago... back in the 80's. There was a place called Freddy Fazbear's Pizza...It had only four animals back then...Freddy, Chica, Foxy...and Bonnie." Sunny noticed Monty flinch at the mention of the last name. It was the first time he saw him flinch since the kids started telling their stories.
"...Kids would come to celebrate their birthdays and eat pizza and watch the four animals play on the stage, just like what they do today...but one day...six kids disappeared. No one knew where they went. The police searched everywhere for them...but never found them..." All the kids were starting to tremble; hugging their plushies tightly to their chests. Sunny could sense their heartbeats beating faster.
"...Years went by and the case grew cold. Everyone was confused by the kids vanishing...My sister says that one person did find them...He was a security guard, and every night he would make sure no one broken into the pizzeria."
"Broke," corrected Sunny. Jackie ignored him and continued her story.
"...On the fifth night, the security guard decided to try and look for the missing kids. He looked everywhere...then he turned to the animals on the stage."
Monty noticed that everyone was holding his breath, including himself.
"The security guard walked up to Freddy, and opened his mouth...and there he found-" Sunny quickly stood up and clapped his hands together. "Ok! Thank you for that...story Jackie!" he said, but still startled a few of the kids. Sunny's witch hat and sun rays poked through the blanket he was standing under.
"I think that's enough spooky stories for one day! Let's go bake some skeleton cookies!" he said. All the kids' ears perked up to the word 'cookies' and immediately ran out of the pillow fort towards the baking area. Monty was the last one to get out of the fort. He silently helped Sunny fold up the blankets and toss the pillows back over to the story time and abandoned Nap Time Area.
"Are you ok, Sunny? That last story was-" started Monty. "Never better! Let's go help the kids bake those cookies before they try to eat the dough raw!" Sunny said, giving Monty a huge fake grin. Monty silently nodded his head and decided to drop the subject.
...
Time: 10:00pm
Monty walked around the Pizza plex to do his evening security routine. It was only two hours after closing that he got an Alert, saying that there was an intruder inside. Monty asked Freddy, Chica, and Roxy if they got the same Alert. All of them nodded their heads in unison.
"I got the same Alert. Best if we split up. We can cover more ground that way," said Freddy, wearing his blue superhero outfit. Chica smiled and nodded her head. She was dressed up as a slice of pizza. "I'll check the kitchen!" she said and ran off towards the kitchen before anyone could stop her.
Roxy sighed and rolled her eyes. She wore an Egyptian goddess outfit. "I'll go look in my room..." she said in a bored tone as she sauntered off. Freddy turned to Monty. "I am going to look in DJ Music Man's area and see if he or his Minis are aware of the intruder. Where are you going to look, Monty?"
Monty shrugged. "I dunno...maybe the Daycare...See if Sunny is aware of the intruder," he said, ignoring the red triangle warning sign flashing in front of his vision, warning him that he was overheating. Freddy nodded his head, oblivious to Monty's awkward behavior.
"Alright, sounds like a good idea! Meet you back here if we can't find anything...by the way, I love your costume! Is it Punkenstein?" he asked in his deep friendly voice. Monty narrowed his eyes and looked away. "Maybe..." then he walked off before Freddy could give him any more compliments.
Monty stomped up to the double wooden doors of the Daycare and knocked three times. One of the doors opened and Sunny's smiling face appeared. Sunny still wore his glittery witch costume.
"Welcome back, Monty! What made you want to visit me at this time?" Sunny asked curiously.
"There are intruders in the pizza plex. I'm trying to find them," Monty explained. Sunny's smile faltered a little. "An intruder?!" Monty nodded. "Yeah...didn't you get the Alert?" he asked. Sunny shook his head. "No. I don't get a lot of Alerts. I'm usually too busy helping the little ones in here! Also I...can't leave the Daycare." he explained. Monty raised an invisible eyebrow. "Can't? Or don't want to?" he asked. Sunny hesitated. "I gotta make sure everything is cleaned up and organized for tomorrow!" he stated. Monty nodded his head, dropping the subject, and checked his security protocol.
"My sensors say that the intruder is somewhere over here...but I'm not picking up any heat signatures," he said, irritated. Sunny's white out eyes widened in horror. "Do you think...do you think it's like what happened in Jackie's story?" he asked. Monty gave Sunny a look. "No. Because that's just a story she made up. There ain't any missing kids or intruders who took kids and stuffed them inside us," he said. Sunny gasped again. "He did?!" Sunny cried.
Monty rolled his eyes. "You interrupted the ending before we could really find out, but from where the story was going, it sounded like whoever kidnapped the children, he killed them and stuffed them in the original rock band before us."
Sunny's body trembled all over, causing his bells to jingle. Monty shouldered past Sunny and stepped inside the Daycare. He looked around for a few short minutes before confirming that the Daycare was empty. "It says they are here..." Monty said. Sunny came up behind the tall alligator. He wrapped his arms around Monty's thick left arm and huddled close to him. Monty ignored him and kept looking around.
Suddenly, they heard a loud clang, causing them both to jump. "What was that?" screamed Sunny. Monty tried scooting away from the sun animatronic, but he held on tight. "Do you mind?" asked Monty, irritated. Sunny shook his head. "Nope." Monty sighed and continued looking around.
A few more clatter noises happened. This time above them in the ceiling...then the sounds moved down along the walls. It sounded like one giant rat, or a bunch of them. Sunny hid behind Monty when they heard the sounds coming to the left of them.
"I-Its coming f-from over-r th-there," Sunny stuttered, pointing over to where the vent was. Monty slowly began to walk towards it. He could feel Sunny's fingers gripping his jacket tightly, making it harder to move. He reached over and grabbed Sunny's hand.
"For crying out loud," he muttered to himself as he pulled the Daycare Assistant from behind him. Sunny stared down at their hands clasping together. That seemed to shut him up. With that, Monty continued walking towards the vent, with Sunny behind him, holding his hand.
The two animatronics got closer and closer to the vent. Sunny squeezed his hand. "Be careful, Monty," Sunny said. Monty grumbled something that Sunny couldn't hear. He reached down towards the vent with his sharp claws.
Bang! The vent cover broke from the wall and clattered to the ground. Sunny screamed a blood curdling scream and leapt into Monty's arms. "It's the intruder!" Sunny screamed, wrapping his arms around Monty's neck.
Out from the vent popped a small head. A human head. Then the rest crawled out. It was a human boy. He looked up at the two animatronics and flinched in surprise. "Crap. Guys, we're busted," he said into the vent. Three more kids came crawling out of the vent. Sunny gasped and crawled off Monty when he saw it was just kids. He placed one hand on his hip, and wagged his index finger at them from his other hand.
"Rulebreakers! Rulebreakers! Breaking and intruding! You are all banned from the Daycare! You are in so much trouble!" Sunny snapped at them.
There was two boys and two girls. The kids were around ten or eleven years old, except for one of the girls, who Monty immediately recognized. It was the girl he found today. "Jackie?" Monty said in surprise. Jackie kept her eyes down on the ground in shame.
They all wore dark hoodies and dark pants. Jackie didn't wear her glittery princess dress anymore. Just a dark hoodie and a black tutu. Monty didn't know who the other three kids were, but Sunny seemed to recognize them.
"Jason! Michael! Carrie! What are you doing here? You know that the Pizza plex is closed at this time! You are all breaking the rules! I thought you kids were good! I remember when you three were the same age as Jackie here! I am very disappointed in all of you! Especially you, Carrie! bringing your little sister here too! Rulebreakers! Rulebreakers!" Sunny yelled again, then started making police siren noises. Monty gave him an irritated look and placed his hand on the Daycare attendant's thin shoulder, causing him to stop.
"Sunny. Let's first ask them what they were doing here, before banning them from the Daycare...they might have a reasonable explanation," he said, hoping the sun animatronic would give the kids some slack. Besides wanting to know why they were here during closing hours, he never liked seeing kids get punished for doing something bad. It's why the older kids liked him. He looked out for the trouble makers. He understood them.
The four kids exchanged guilty, silent glances. Then the older girl, Carrie, shrugged off her backpack and unzipped it. She pulled out a thin wooden board. It looked like it was part of a game. It had the alphabet A-Z. Numbers 0-9 and the words: Hello, Goodbye, Yes, and No. Sunny dropped his arms.
"A board game? You hid during closing hours just to play a board game here?" asked Sunny confusingly. Jason rubbed the back of his head nervously. "It's not the kind of board game you are thinking of," he admitted.
"It's an Ouija board," explained Michael. It was Sunny and Monty's turn to exchange glances. They still didn't understand what it was. "A Wee Gee board?" asked Sunny, tilting his head. His question filled with genuine confusion.
"Here. We can show you," said Carrie as she placed it down on the ground. She pulled a weird triangle with a round glass piece in the center from her back pocket. "We place our fingers on this, and ask the spirits from beyond questions, and then they answer by moving this planchette around," she explained.
Monty looked over to Sunny to see how he was reacting to all of this. Sunny had a blank, unreadable expression on his faceplate. After a few seconds of silence, Sunny turned to Monty. "Can I speak to you alone?" asked Sunny. Monty hesitated and glanced over at the kids. The kids stared up at the animatronics, either sitting on the ground or standing. Waiting to either be kicked out or allowed to play their weird game.
Monty turned back to Sunny and nodded his head. The two animatronics walked a good distance away from the kids, out of earshot. Once they felt they were far enough away, Sunny began to speak. "I don't know about this," admitted Sunny. "This...Weegee game looks very strange. Why do they want to talk to spirits? Why here?" he asked.
Monty shrugged. "It's Halloween, Sunny. I bet they thought that no one would be around to stop them from playing their little game." Sunny looked down at his long fingers as they started to fumble and interlace. Monty placed his hand on the sun animatronic's boney shoulder, making him stop and lift his head up to the tall alligator animatronic.
"I'm sure it's fine. We can just let them play one round, and then we can escort them out of the pizza plex. What's the worst a simple board game can do?" Monty pointed out.
Sunny thought about it for a moment, then nodded his head. "Ok...one game. And then they are banned from-" Monty placed a hand over Sunny's mouth. "-from the Daycare. Yes. You've made that very clear." Monty snapped in irritation. With that, the two animatronics came back to the small group of kids and allowed them to play their weird little game. The kids smiled excitedly and sat around the Ouija board.
"Could we also turn off the lights-?" asked Carrie, but Sunny quickly turn down her request.
"Absolutely not! The lights stay on at all times! No "ifs," "ands," or "buts!"" he stated. The kids giggled. "He said butts." Jackie hid her smile behind her tiny hands. Monty smiled at their immature sense of humor.
"Can we at least light some candles? I asked my mom to buy me some candles and I wanted to try them for this. They are pumpkin spice smelling," Carrie said as she pulled out a muted orange candle still in its wrapping.
"Fire is prohibited in the Daycare! They could fall over and cause major damage to the Daycare, and put you and your friends at risk of being harmed...or worse!" Sunny stated. Monty rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his broad chest.
"How bout they stay unlit?" asked Michael. Sunny accepted that request, but only if they stayed in their wrappings.
"What a stick in the mud," whispered Jason to Carrie. Monty heard them and chuckled softly to himself.
With the lack of eerie ambiance, the kids had to deal with the lights on and no lit candles during their game. They all circled around the Ouija board with the wrapped candles, and placed their fingertips on top of the small wooden planchette.
Carrie cleared her throat, closed her eyes, and began to speak. "We call upon the spirits who dwell here in this pizzeria...Are there any spirits with us right now?" she asked.
Nothing happened.
Carrie tried again. "We call upon the spirits who dwell in this pizzeria...Is there anyone willing to answer our questions?" she asked.
Nothing again.
Carrie opened her eyes and stared at the planchette.
After a few lingering minutes, Sunny finally exhaled and clapped his hands. "Well it looks like no one's home...Now it's time for you kiddies to head on home yours-"
"Wait! Let us try asking again," Jason said.
"Yeah! Maybe they didn't hear us the first few times. It says on the instructions that it would take a while," added Michael.
Sunny's shoulders slumped in defeat. "Fine...but if nothing keeps happening, I am stopping this game," Sunny said. The kids agreed. Carrie squared her shoulders and spoke in a loud clear voice.
"Oh spirits of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Hear my call. Come forth from the darkness...are there any spirits with us now?"
The kids waited. Monty and Sunny stayed quiet, their eyes focused on the strange game board.
A minute passed...
Two minutes passed...
Then, right when Sunny was just opening his mouth to tell the kids that the game was done...and they were being banned from the Daycare for the umpteenth time...the planchette began to move.
The kids gasped. "It's moving! It's moving!"
The planchette slowly slid over to 'Yes.'
Sunny's eyes widened. Monty narrowed his eyes in confusion. "Didn't you kids just move it?" he asked. They all shook their heads. "No! The spirit moved it! That's how it works! Oh, what should we ask it?!" asked Carrie.
"Ask them what their name is!" said Michael excitedly. Carrie leaned down and asked the spirit its name. Within no time at all, the planchette began to move over the letters:
"...P...O...O...P...Hey!" Carrie snapped. Both Jason and Michael fell over laughing. Jackie giggled, then fell over laughing with the boys from the little prank. Sunny's posture seemed to relax a little from the whole thing, seeing that the whole game wasn't as scary as he thought it was going to be. Monty was laughing with the kids. His broad shoulders moving up and down.
Carrie on the other hand, was the only one who wasn't laughing. "Which one of you did that?! This is supposed to be serious!"
Michael raised his hand. "Guilty! Ha ha! Oh come on, Carrie. It was just a harmless prank. I just wanted to lift the tension a little...Your little sister here looked like she needed a laugh...and Mr. Sun looked like he was ready to cry."
"I was not!" Sunny pouted, crossing his arms. Monty smirked, then ruffled the prankster's hair. "Well played kid. I'd say that was a good way to end this little game. Let's pack it up and get you on your way home."
The kids agreed and got to their feet. Carrie was still sitting on the floor. She sighed as she stared down at the board game, wishing that she had contacted something from beyond the grave. She reached for the planchette on the board to put back in her pocket. It moved away from her fingers and across the board on it's own. She pulled her hand back, gasping in terror.
"Guys! Guys! The planchette moved on it's own!"
Everyone turned and looked down at her. "Nice try, Carrie. We know you are upset at us and want to try to prank us back," said Jason. Carrie shook her head. "No! Seriously! Look!"
The kids and animatronics circled around the Ouija board again.
The planchette slowly slid over to 'No' by itself. Jason's face blanched. "...I-it's remote controlled...y-you are hiding the remote," Jason said. Carrie shook her head again. "It's not." Sunny nodded his head. "She's telling the truth..." whispered Sunny. He had a built in lying detector in his software since he dealt with kids all day.
The planchette made infinity signs on the board.
"...Are you guys going to ask it something?" asked Monty after a few long seconds of silence. The kids snapped their heads up and looked at each other. They were so distracted by the self moving planchette, they forgot why they were there in the first place.
"Should we ask it it's name?" asked Jackie shyly. Carrie didn't respond. Her mouth was dry. She licked her lips and asked the question.
"Did you die here?"
The planchette moved over to 'yes.'
Each kid's face was as white as a sheet. Sunny's boney fingers began to fidget and fumble nervously, causing them to clack against each other like chattering teeth.
"Wh-what is your name?"
The planchette began to move...
...W...I...L...L...
Will.
The kids exchanged silent glances. "The Missing Children." Sunny stopped clacking his fingers and stared down at the kids. "Wait. Missing Children? Are you talking about Jackie's scary ghost story?" Jackie looked over at her sister, who broke her gaze from the board.
"Erm...We heard about this legend...that five kids went missing...and we wanted to see if they were still here." Sunny placed his hands on his hips, causing his bells to jingle softly from under his witch costume.
"And why would you want to do something like that?" asked Sunny, his voice quivering in fear.
This time, Jackie spoke up. "One of the Missing Children was our mom's brother...We wanted to find out what happened to him...solve the mystery." Sunny's faceplate softened a little at that response, but Monty could tell that he was still scared. He looked over to the Ouija board and the moving planchette.
Sunny hesitated, then sat down in front of the game board. "I'll ask the ghost a few questions. Maybe I can help you kids figure this mystery out." The kids nodded their heads, liking the idea of having an adult be there to help them...even if he was made of metal. Sunny hesitated, trying to come up with something to say.
"Hi there...um...Sunny here...I am going to ask a few questions...is that ok?" he asked it. The planchette moved on its own towards the word: 'yes.'
"Ok...um...How did you...Do you remember how you...You know..." Sunny was having a hard time asking the hard question. That's when Monty took over, being a little impatient and wanting to know more about the ghost.
"How did you die?" he asked flatly.
"Monty!" Sunny cried, snapping his head up at the tall alligator and giving him a disappointed look. Monty placed his arms up in defense. "What? You were taking forever to ask the question." Sunny's faceplate did one full spin to show how furious he was. "There are children present here, Monty! And I don't think it's very polite to ask a ghost how they...you know!" Sunny stated.
The planchette didn't seem affected by the question and began spelling out one word:
...M...U...R...D...E...R...
The atmosphere immediately thickened with tension. Sunny trembled, causing his bells to jingle. "I-I'm sorry about that...um...W-would you like us to help you?"
'Yes.'
"How would you like us to help you?"
The planchette went back to work spelling out one word. But it wasn't a word any of them were expecting.
...D...I...E...
Everyone gasped in horror. Carrie screamed and placed her hands over her mouth. Jackie's mouth dropped open but no sound came out. Jason and Michael's eyes filled with tears. Sunny jumped to his feet.
"That's it! This game is going into the trash!" said Sunny as he grabbed the Ouija board.
"Look!" said Michael as the planchette began to move once more. Sunny stopped and stared down at the board and planchette.
...I...A...M...S...T...I...L...L...H...E...R...E...
"Iamstillhere...what kind of answer is that?"
Monty felt his gears suddenly become cold. They weren't talking to one of the Missing Children...
Suddenly, Sunny began to scream. Everyone jumped from his sudden outburst. Monty's eyes widened. "Sunny? Sunny! Are you ok?" Monty reached out to touch his shoulder.
Sunny's body began to jerk and twist and contort in uncomfortable positions. Sunny cried out in agony as if some invisible force was hurting him. The Ouija board fell out of his hands and clattered to the ground. Then his body began to rise and stay suspended ten feet from the ground. His witch clothes tore away, revealing his regular gold and red jester outfit underneath.
Somehow, wind picked up inside the Daycare, blowing everything around the room, sometimes swirling around Sunny's body. The candles on the ground somehow lit themselves, melting away their clear plastic wrappings. The smell of pumpkin spice filled the room. Suddenly, purple smoke in the form of a human figure rose up from the fallen Ouija board and entered inside Sunny. The lights began to flicker...and suddenly went out.
That's when things took a turn for the worst.
Sunny twisted and contorted some more, then began to change. His bright red and gold striped pants shifted to a dark blue with silver stars all over. His pointy sun rays shrank inside his face plate and a nightcap appeared in place of them. And lastly, his head spun around and became a white moon face...with glowing red eyes.
Monty took a step back in horror.
This was Sunny's other half. The one he always kept hidden from everyone for unknown reasons.
Moondrop.
The night clad jester stopped contorting and floated there above everyone. He stared down at his long hands, front and back, then down at the rest of himself, as if he was seeing himself for the first time. His eyes flashed purple for a moment, before going back to the bright red color. The night jester slowly turned its focus down to the four scared kids and terrified alligator. It grinned, revealing a set of pointy sharp teeth.
"Trick or treat..." the Moon animatronic said in a breathy, murderous voice.
The four kids screamed in sheer terror. Monty snapped out of his state of shock and grabbed Jackie, holding her in his arm. "Kids! run to the exit!" he shouted, then bolted towards the big double wooden doors of the Daycare. The kids didn't need to be told twice, they ran right at Monty's heels towards the doors. The night animatronic's haunting laughter echoed behind them, filling their ears.
They got to the doors and tried opening them. They wouldn't budge. "It's locked!" cried Jason. Monty tried opening them himself. Sure enough, they were closed tight.
Loud banging came from outside the Daycare, startling them all. "Sunny? Monty? I heard screaming! Is everything ok in there?" asked a deep voice. It was Freddy. He was on the other side of the Daycare doors. Monty looked at the scared kids huddled close to him, and then the suspended Moon hovering above the playmat in the center of the Daycare.
"Um...could be better!" he shouted through the door.
"The door is locked!" shouted Freddy from the other side.
"Yeah no kidding, Sherlock!" Monty snapped angrily, baring his teeth.
"Did you try opening it from your side?" Freddy asked.
"Wow, I NEVER would have thought of doing that first!" Monty shouted, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Well try opening it from your side! I'm going to go get Roxy and Chica! Hang tight!" Freddy called, completely oblivious to Monty's sarcasm. The moon animatronic stopped laughing and turned its' focus to its' prey huddling at the doors.
Monty put Jackie down. "Get behind me, kids!" he shouted. The kids huddled close behind his legs. Monty stood in front of them, keeping them as safe as he could. Protecting them from the new threat.
The moon animatronic came down to the ground. Like a predator stalking its prey, the nightmare moon came closer towards them. Its red eyes glowing brightly in the dark. Monty bared his teeth at the possessed animatronic and got into a wide stance, being as much of a barrier as he could between the possessed animatronic and the kids.
The moon animatronic, grinned a freakishly deranged grin before leaning forward, and in a blink of an eye, lunging at the tall alligator. Monty didn't have time to react as he was slammed against the wooden doors. Monty felt his head get crushed into the wood, causing it to crack and splinter. Monty cried out in pain. "R-run! Kids! R-r-r-r-un!" he shouted.
The kids screamed and ran blindly from behind Monty, towards the jungle playground with all the tubes and slides.
The possessed moon animatronic with the purple spirit inside gripped Monty's throat tightly, causing his hardware and sensors to go haywire. Warning signs flashed across Monty's eyes, but he ignored them as he grabbed Moon/Purple spirit's arm and dug his claws into it, causing the metal to concave in on itself. Sparks flew out of the arm. He held back from using his full strength. He knew Sunny was still in there.
They both had each other in their grasp...but for how long? Monty's vision was starting to go static. Pretty soon, his system would do an automatic shut down, and the possessed moon was going to go after the kids...and he couldn't let that happen.
No...he wouldn't let it happen.
Monty used his other hand to rake his claws across the moon animatronic's faceplate. The animatronic screamed and reared back. It let go of Monty and stumbled backwards a few steps, its clawed hands hovering over its damaged faceplate. Monty lunged at the possessed animatronic and they both tumbled across the playmat. Monty opened his jaws and bit down hard on the nightmare moon's other arm. The possessed animatronic screeched before curling its fist and punching the gator in the back of the head a few times.
The two wrestled and fought, stumbling and rolling aggressively until they fell into the ball pit. Colorful balls scattered everywhere. The kids screamed from their hiding places inside the climbing structure. The moon/purple spirit looked up and saw the kids. It grinned maliciously, then began to advance towards them. Monty rose out of the ball pit, arms outstretched, then wrapped them around the moon animatronic from behind, and pulled him under. The kids watched in terror, too scared to move as the animatronics fought. The possessed animatronic smashed its fist against Monty's snout, causing black oil to pour out. Monty tripped the moon animatronic with his tail when it tried getting out of the ball pit. Sparks dimly lit up the ball pit. helping the kids see the fight in the darkness.
Carrie looked away from the animatronic's fighting when something caught her eye. The candles were still lit. In the center of them was the Ouija board. Then she had an idea. She tapped her sister on the shoulder, startling her. Jackie turned her head to her older sister. Carrie pressed her finger to her lips to be quiet. "I have an idea, but I need your help," she whispered. With that, the two girls quietly made their way out of the jungle playground and towards the discarded Ouija board.
The two animatronics had finally gotten out of the ball pit. The moon animatronic had Monty pinned against the ground. His sharp claws digging in his neck again. The warning signs were becoming hard to ignore now in Monty's vision. His jacket was tattered. His borrowed sunglasses cracked. Monty shifted and struggled underneath the possessed animatronic's grip. The moon animatronic brought forth a horrific laugh that made Monty's gears freeze up.
"You are so pathetic...You think you can stop me? I can never die..." the dark voice said from the moon animatronic. Monty kept his hands tight around the nightmare moon's grip. He could feel the loose wires and crushed voicebox in his throat as he struggled to speak.
"S-Sun-nny! Su-unny! You r-r-emember me! It's me, M-M-Monty! I know you ar-ar-are still in there! P-p-p-please fight it! I know you wont let thi-s-s-s-s spirit hurt these k-kids!" Monty shouted up at the Nighttime Animatronic. The moon animatronic bared its teeth, flicking its thin metal, worm-like tongue out as he squeezed Monty's throat tighter. A strangled cry escaped out of Monty's throat.
A flash of gold caught Monty's attention. One of Sunny's rays came poking out of the Night time animatroni's faceplate. Monty's eyes widened. Sunny was still in there, fighting whatever spirit that possessed him. Fighting to gain back control. The moon/purple spirit noticed the golden ray poking out from the side as well and sneered in annoyance. With its freakishly long boney fingers, it wrapped them around the yellow ray and broke it off. Sparks and wires jutted out of the broken jagged part of the faceplate. The moon/purple spirit grinned wickedly as it held the golden ray in its hands, turning it over, then gripping the bigger end in its hand. Almost like a knife.
Soft shuffling was heard to Monty's right. Both animatronics turned their heads to the sound. Twenty feet away, Jackie and Cassie were out in the open, making their way to the Ouija board. Monty felt his gears freeze up. No. What were they doing? They needed to stay hidden. The moon animatronic's smile widened into an insane grin. It lifted the sharp ray in its hand.
Monty's eyes widened. "No!"
Monty tried slashing his claws at the moon animatronics faceplate again, but the dark possessed animatronic was too fast. The Moon animatronic lifted Monty by the neck and slammed him back down. Monty cried out in pain. Glitches and static clouded his vision. Warning! Warning W-warnninnnggg Wrrrnnngggsjdjzks...
"S-s-s-s-uuuunnnn-ny-y-y-y..." Monty's voice stuttered.
The moon animatronic stepped over Monty's crumpled form and began stalking the two girls, gold ray blade in its hand.
Carrie and Jackie were sitting down at the Ouija board with the lit candles. Both girls placed their fingertips on the planchette.
"We call upon the spirits who dwell in this pizzeria! Missing Children! Victims of this killer! Please help us! Help us! Please!" Carrie cried out.
A random wind tussled their hair and clothes, snuffing out the candles, engulfing them into darkness. The girls see a pair of glaring red eyes glowed in the pitch black darkness above them. A glowing white smile filled with razor sharp teeth appeared underneath them.
"Boo."
The girls screamed. The deranged moon animatronic laughed wickedly as it grabbed Carrie by the throat and lifted her up. Jackie could hear her older sister screaming and tried grabbing her. "Carrie!" she screamed. The possessed animatronic raised the broken gold ray above its' head, ready to pierce Carrie in the chest with it.
"Say Goodnight..."
Suddenly, a flash of blinding white light shoots out of the Ouija board. The possessed moon animatronic screamed, stumbling backwards. He drops Carrie and the yellow metal ray. "Noooo! Lights off! Lights off! Argh!" It clawed at its eyes. The yellow sun rays poke in and out repeatedly from the faceplate.
Six small glowing white forms appeared in a circle, floating above the Ouija board. Jackie and Carrie gawked in shock. It was the missing children. Their forms were hard to see since they were blinding forms of light, but the girls could see familiar features that represented kids. Their eyes were black with dark tear stains coming from their eyes. The ghost children all turned their forms over to where the possessed moon animatronic was curled up in a fetal position, screaming and clawing at its eyes from the sudden blindness.
From the light that the ghost children radiated, The moon animatronic changed back to Sunny. Sunny had a few broken parts from the fight. His broken ray left a huge gap on the side of his faceplate. Possessed Sunny opened his eyes and glared angrily up at the missing children, baring his teeth.
"You just can't seem to let it go can you...it was so long ago! Can't you brats just leave me alone?!" The dark voice that was not Sunny's screamed. The ghost children silently hovered over Sunnys possessed form, circling him like wolves would to a wounded bird. Sunny shifted uncomfortably before the forms.
"You can't stop me! Get away from me!" The children floated closer.
"No! No! Noooooooo!"
Sunny contorted and twisted on the ground as the six ghost lights engulfed him and became one. Then a dark purple form came smoking out of Sunny's body, then dashed away. Sunny body crumpled to the ground and went still. The six lights sped after the purple colored spirit. They chased the purple smoke like being throughout the Daycare, then finally through the Ouija board. The Ouija board shifted and moved on its own as the seven spirits entered back through the Ouija board and finally went still. The planchette shifted over to the word 'Goodbye,' thus closing the portal. The Daycare was once again suspended in darkness.
The girls sat frozen where they were. The boys eventually came out of their hiding place and joined the girls where they sat. Monty struggled to his feet, then fell back down. His jaw was dripping black, and his body trembled. Using his arms, he crawled over to Sunny's unmoving body.
"S-s-s-su-unn-nn-n-y..." his guttural voice chokes out. His whole vision was glitching. He crawls up to Sunny and lifts the sun animatronic's limp body into his arms.
Monty hugs Sunny tightly against his chest. "P-p-p-p-please don't be gone S-s-s-sunn-nn-n-y-y..."
The kids notice Monty hugging Sunny and come over to him. "Monty...is Sunny ok?" Jackie asks. Monty doesn't respond, just holds Sunny close. Suddenly, the lights came blinking back on. Everyone snapped their head up from the sudden brightness in the room. The whole Daycare was a mess. Monty closed his eyes and rested his head against Sunny's.
"...Monty...you are hugging me."
Monty opened his eyes and looked down where the faint voice came from. It was Sunny. He was awake. Monty sighed in relief and hugged Sunny close to him. "I thought I lost you..." Monty muttered. Sunny didn't have his motor functions working properly to hug him back. He leaned his head against Monty instead.
The wooden doors opened and Freddy, Roxy, Chica and Music Man appeared. "Monty! We are here! Is everything ok?" asked Freddy. Monty nodded his head. "E-e-everyth-th-I-ing-ing is o-o-ok-ok-ok," Monty's voice box quivered.

Time: 12:00am
Freddy and the girls escorted the kids out of the Daycare and pizzaplex. Their parents were notified where their children were and to come pick them up. The children's parents were very upset having to wake up in the middle of the night to pick up their kids.
"You are in big trouble, mister! No videogames for a month!" Jason's mom snapped as she pulled him by the ear to her car.
"What made you want to break into Freddy's pizzeria, bud? I thought you said you were out trick-or-treating! I just hope the company doesn't sue us for your reckless actions!" Michael's dad shouted at him as they walked to his car.
Jackie and Carrie waved goodbye to Freddy and the girl animatronics before leaving with their upset parents. "You are grounded young lady! Bringing your baby sister into this! If your friends were jumping off a cliff would you pull her to jump with you?" Mrs. Sanderson snapped at her older daughter.
Monty and Sunny were left in the Daycare alone. Monty spotted the broken ray piece from Sunny's faceplate a foot away from his arm. Carefully, he reached over and picked it up from the ground. Sunny noticed it and immediately reached up to his sun rays.
"How did that happen?" he asked. Monty hesitated on answering. He didn't want to scare Sunny. Instead, he reached over to the nearby counter and grabbed something from its' surface.
"I kn-kn-know ho-h-h-how-w-w to fix-x tha-a-a-at." Monty lifted up a bottle of glitter glue. Sunny silently watched as Monty squeezed some glitter glue onto the broken parts of the sun ray, then gently as he could, stick them back together. He held the piece in place and waited for the glue to dry.
Sunny watched Monty the whole time as he fixed his sun ray. Once the glittery glue was dry, Monty let go of the ray and it stayed in place.
"G-g-g-g-goo-o-od as n-n-ne-ew-w," he said in his broken voice box. Sunny lifted his hand up once again and ran his fingers gently over the fixed sun ray. He smiled up at Monty.
"Thank you, Monty," he said.
...
Within the hour, Parts and Service came running into the Daycare. They had been informed by their computers that the two animatronics were severely damaged and needed immediate fixing. Both Monty and Sunny were rushed to the emergency Parts and Service room.
Monty didn't fight the Mechanic crew, which was a complete surprise to them since they were ready to have to pin the large alligator down and do a force shut down on him. Monty just closed his eyes and let the Mechanic Crew do their job in fixing him...
...
Date: November 1st.
Time: 7:15am
It was 45 minutes till the Pizza Plex opened. Monty knocked on the Daycare doors. His body and voice box were fixed and functioning properly. Sunny opened the door. He was completely fixed as well. Monty felt a sense of relief seeing Sunny fixed.
"Good Morning, Monty! What are you doing here? You didn't find a child already did you? The pizza plex hasn't even opened yet!" Monty shook his head sadly. "No...I um...I came to see how you were doing," he admitted. Sunny smiled and did a little twirl. "Better than ever! I am in tip top shape!"
Monty nodded his head. "That's good-" "Why don't you come in?" Sunny said. Before Monty could say anything, Sunny had pulled Monty into the Daycare. Monty stumbled a little from being pulled by the skinny sun animatronic. One he was fully inside, he looked around the room. All the Halloween Decorations were down. All the damages and mess that had happened last night had been cleaned up. The only thing that proved that it ever happened was the lingering smell of pumpkin spice.
Monty sighed, his shoulders drooping. "...Well...I guess this is goodbye forever..." Monty said as he turned and began to walk towards the doors of the Daycare. Sunny cartwheeled over to him and stood in front of him, blocking his path.
"Wait, what do you mean 'Goodbye forever?'"
Monty sighed, his broad shoulders drooping again. "I'm a rulebreaker...just like those kids from last night. I didn't take your side and stop them. If I did...none of this would ever have happened...So...I'm banned from the Daycare."
With that, Monty walked around Sunny and continued making his way to the door. Sunny suddenly blocked his way again, his arms stretched out to his sides. Monty stopped in his tracks and growled in annoyance.
"What? I'm leaving already! Just like you want," he said. Sunny shook his head. "I never said I wanted you to leave," he said. Monty cocked his head in confusion. "But...I broke the rules," he pointed out. Sunny nodded his head.
"Yes...but...you protected those kids from Moon...and that thing that possessed him..." Monty stared at Sunny for a full minute. "Wait...how did you know what happened? I thought you weren't aware of what happened," Monty pointed out. Sunny nodded his head. "Yes, but from what I saw; the kids left the Daycare unharmed...and you looked like you had gotten into a serious fight...Also...I could hear your voice," he admitted. Monty blinked his eyes in surprise.
"You could hear me?" he asked. Sunny looked down at the ground, fumbling with his fingers again. "I don't want you to be banned from the Daycare Monty...I need someone to look for lost kids and bring them here..." Sunny said, lifting his head back up to the tall alligator.
Monty's eyebrows lifted from behind his star shaped sunglasses. A few warning flashes appeared in his vision, but he ignored them. The corners of Monty's mouth lifted upwards into a genuine smile. "I'd be honored to be your "Lost and Found" as you like to put it," he said, his Southern accent slipping.
Sunny beamed happily. "I'm glad. The kids would miss you terribly if you suddenly stopped visiting...even me," Sunny muttered the last part. Just then, the sound of chimes sounded throughout the Daycare. It was the Daycare's clock, saying that it was 8:00am. The Pizza plex was officially open. Monty had to get to the stage to do the morning "Welcome To Freddy's" song. Sunny cleared his throat and stuck out his hand for a shake.
"Till then, Monty."
Monty took Sunny's hand and shook it...then he pulled the animatronic towards him and wrapped his arms around Sunny. Sunny made a startled sound as he was gently crushed into the tall alligator's embrace.
Alert! Alert! Overheating! the warning signs flashed across Sunny's vision, but he ignored them as he slowly wrapped his arms around the broad shouldered alligator. Completing the hug.
