Chapter 4: Home Sweet Home

"Carlos, we've seen everyone's favorite room except yours." Heather pointed out.

"Come on, I'll show you!" Carlos smiled as he lead everyone back into the classroom. He then showed off his favorite room. "This is my bedroom. It's my favorite room in the house. See? It's nice and neat, just like it was before Juan moved in."

"Completely understandable." Lucy smiled to which Linus frowned.

"You two aren't still over it, are you?" asked Barney.

"Little brothers are a nuisance sometimes." Lucy sulked.

"Same goes for crabby older sisters." Linus huffed as the two turned away from each other with their arms crossed.

Snoopy rolled his eyes before barking angrily, getting the two siblings' attentions.

"Yeah?" Linus and Lucy asked.

Snoopy then barked some more, flailing his arms and tugging his ears.

"Uh..." Charlie Brown asked. "What's he saying?"

"I think he's telling you two to get along..." Heather said. "And I don't blame him."

Just then, a red door magically appeared and a woman exited carrying a suitcase and wearing a Brazilian outfit.

"You know, that reminds me of a story." the woman smiled, gaining the kids attentions.

"Oh look everybody! It's Stella! Stella the Storyteller!" Barney bubbled with excitement, knowing her. "Stella, I'd like to you meet my friends Kathy, Sally, Heather, Shawn, Charlie Brown, Schroeder, Tosha, Peppermint Patty, Marcie, Lucy, Linus, Franklin, Carlos, and Woodstock and Snoopy."

"WELL I'LL BE! SHE'S BEAUTIFUL!" Peppermint Patty gasped, nudging Marcie a little. "MA'AM, I LOVE YOUR COSTUME!"

"How does the door work?" Linus inquired.

"Where'd you come from?" Marcie wondered.

"How long have you been a storyteller?" Heather asked, out of curiosity.

"Hello everybody." Stella smiled. "Olá, Barney. como vai você?"

"We're fine, Stella. Thank you for asking." Barney smiled. "You know, Stella travels ALL OVER the world and everywhere she goes, she hears new stories. It looks like you've been somewhere exciting, Stella."

"I have been somewhere exciting, Barney. I've just come from Brazil down in South America, where I heard a wonderful story and I just can't wait to tell it to you!" Stella explained.

"We'd love to hear a story, Ms. Stella." Marcie explained.

"Please?" asked Heather.

"We're good listeners." Franklin added, patting Snoopy's head.

"Oh we can't wait to hear it!" Barney smiled as everyone got settled and Stella opened up her suitcase, pulled two boy dolls out, and began to tell the story.

"Once upon a time in Brazil, there lived two twin brothers named Pablos and Luis." Stella narrated. "They looked so much alike, you can barely tell them apart. Now Pablo and Luis owned a bakery. You know a bakery? Where they make bread and donuts." Stella then pulled out a donut with a bite in it, and chuckled. "I got a little hungry on my trip."

"Anyways, Paolo and Louis worked very hard in their bakery because they love to bake and it made them very happy. One day, when Paolo was working in the bakery, the king walked in. Now, this was not a very nice king. He was always grumpy!" Stella continued.

"Ooooooooo!" Heather reacted.

"That king reminds me of Lucy..." Linus said before seeing Lucy give him a death glare.

"While Paolo was smiling, the king said, 'Why are you so happy?' So Paolo said, 'I'm happy because I'm working in my bakery' Now this gave the king an idea." Stella continued.

"Uh oh." Lucy reacted.

"So the king said, 'Tomorrow you will come to my castle and I will ask you one question. If you get it right, you can keep your bakery and still be happy. But if you get it wrong, I will take your bakery, and you will be sad, and I will be happy.'" Stella continued.

"THAT IS NOT THE WAY TO RUN A KINGDOM!" Lucy shouted.

Stella giggled. "Then the king left. Little Paolo DIDN'T know what to do. He started to cry; then Louis came in and he saw his brother crying and Louis said 'Brother, what is wrong?' and Paolo told him all about the king's visit and how he had to go to the castle the next day. Louis said 'Don't worry, brother. Tomorrow, I will go to the castle.'."

"Oooooooooooh!" the kids gasped.

"Sounds similar to The Parent Trap." Heather whispered to Kathy, making the latter giggle.

"The next day, Louis goes to the castle and appears before the king. 'Just as you ordered, I've come to answer the question.' Now the king wanted that bakery. I mean, he really wanted that bakery." Stella continued.

"We can tell." Sally pointed out.

"So he thought, and he thought, and he thought, and finally, the king said, 'Tell me right now, what am I thinking?' Stella continued.

"Oh dear." Marcie reacted.

"He's in trouble now!" Peppermint Patty winced.

"Well, Louis looked at the king and said 'Well, that is an easy question. Right now, you are thinking that I am Paolo, but I'm not. I'm Louis, his twin brother. We look just alike.'. the king could not believe his ears. He knew he'd been outsmarted." Stella explained.

"I take it back, that was rich!" Peppermint Patty wheezed.

"Way to go, Louis!" Sally cheered.

"It's just a story." Tosha explained.

"I know." Sally retorted.

"So the king said, 'Ugh, you and your brother may keep your bakery'. And so Paolo and Louis lived happily ever after in their bakery. The end!" Stella finished, to which everyone applauded.

"Yay! That was a great story, Stella! Thanks!" Barney smiled.

"I thought you all would like it." Stella smiled before facing Lucy and Carlos. "And Carlos, don't be so hard on your little brother, Juan. And same goes for you and Linus, Lucy. Brothers have to stick together."

"Brothers and sisters, too!" Tosha smiled.

"She's right. Brothers and sisters too." Stella smiled.

"You make a good point." Lucy admitted.

"Thank you, Lucy." Stella said.

Lucy beamed. "You're welcome, Stella."

"Well, I'm off. In Brazil, they speak Portuguese, so instead of saying goodbye, I'll say 'até logo'."

"Até logo, Stella." The kids and Barney replied as Stella walked in the door.

"Toodles." She added as the door spun around.

"How did that happen?" Marcie asked.

"Magic." Peppermint Patty suggested.

A few minutes later, we see the kids having finished putting everything away and talking together.

"You know, Barney, after hearing that story, I've been thinking." Carlos said.

"Me too." Linus smiled.

"Me three." Marcie smiled.

"What've you three been thinking of?" asked Barney.

"I think I can share my room with Juan for a little while, even if he does snore his funny snore." Carlos giggled.

"And I can survive Lucy sleeping in my room, even if she and Grandma criticize my blanket." Linus smiled. "I'll even bring my blanket home today."

"And I can deal with Peppermint Patty's crazy snoring and laid back attitude." Marcie added.

"That's good, you three." Barney smiled.

"Thanks, Barney!" the three kids replied in unison.

"Happiness may be having your own room, but I think happiness is also sharing your stuff." Carlos realized.

"I think you're right. Knowing that makes me very happy." Barney smiled.

"Yes. It's our turn." Linus explained.

"We sure had fun, today, showing off our favorite rooms." Heather smiled, making everyone agree,

"Exactly and that's because even though you all have favorite rooms, what makes them really special is the loving family that lives with you there." Barney added.

The kids then group hugged on Barney, making him chuckle before they got their stuff and headed off for home. "You ready to come home with us, Barney?" Linus asked the Barney doll as they and Lucy were the last ones in the classroom.

"You bet I am." Lucy imitated Barney's voice as they finally left the room, but not before Barney shared one last wink to Snoopy and Woodstock, who winked right back.

The End
