Just What Is This Place?
After being "Rescued" by a group of unknown individuals, Sonic was brought into the building he spotted not too long ago. He was placed inside a room by himself and integrated for a while. Only giving information about himself and where he came from. Despite giving all the information to those who worked inside the building, they did not trust Sonic and kept him inside the room for a while. This obviously put Sonic off, but he wasn't going to give up in searching for a way to escape... Or so he thought.
*With Sonic*
"*Walking Around The Room He Was In. Trying To Pass Time* First, I arrive at this place knowing nothing about it. And second of all, I was put inside this room without something to entertain me. Those guys aren't going to keep me in here for very long. All I need to do is wait until everyone isn't looking, and it's go time." Sonic commented
While Sonic continues to walk around the room, looking around to see what it has in store to distract him. The Door to the room suddenly opens up as someone enters uninvited.
"*Not Looking To See Who It Was* Oh, I'm guessing you're here to integrate me some more lady. Sorry, but that's all the information I can give you now." Sonic said
"Forgive me for the sudden intrusion... I'm here by no means wanting to start any problems here... You seem rather... unique." The Person replies
Hearing the voice of this individual, Sonic turns around and notices a young girl standing in front of him who has lilac hair, lavender eyes, rectangular frame glasses, a grey hoodie over a black shirt over a white-collar shirt, a red tie, a black shirt, tights, and brown shoes.
"Oh, well... Right, sorry for what I just said now... Umm... Who are you...?" Sonic confuse
"My name is Mash Kyrielight. It's a pleasure to meet you. It would be best if you were the being that everyone in this facility has talked about for a while. Everyone is put on edge about you and your intentions in being here in the first place." Mash explained
"I see. I'll explain things quickly. To start, I'm not here to create any problems with anyone. I was brought here by mistake and doing my best to return home. But I do apologize for causing some panic around." Sonic assured
"No need to apologize. Despite being a mysterious creature that just appeared, you do have a kind personality." Mash mentions
"I'll take the compliment. A Hedgehog like myself loves to meet all kinds of people during my adventures. This is no expectation." Sonic commented
"Hehe~ You're also a funny one as well. Are you hungry by sort of chance?" Mash asks
"Haven't eaten anything since I got here. I was told that "Food" would be given to me quickly, but I never got anything." Sonic replies
"Would you care for the food I made for you just before I arrived then? I didn't know what to make for you, so I made these: *Shows Sonic A Plate Of Chilli Dogs In Front Of Him*"
"*Eyes Sparkle, Alongside His Mouth Drooling As She Slowly Takes A Chilli Dog And Was About To Take A Bite Until He Stops* Wait... You said you didn't know what to make, but Chilli Dogs are my favorite. Is this some coincidence or..." Sonic confused
"I-I mean... I heard it through passing... I may have heard it from the Director and the Doctor..." Mash admits
*Flashback*
While Sonic was still being held inside the room, Mash wandered alone, searching for this new intruder who showed up in the facility. Hearing rumors and the slight panic it has caused by his appearance, she decided to take the opportunity to look for Sonic. While doing so, she passes a room and hears a couple of people talking to one another. This caught her attention, so she decided to listen in without being seen by them.
"What is the report of this mysterious thing we discovered outside the facility, Romani? Where did it come from, and is it a threat to us?" The Girl asks
"To put it shortly, this creature is called Sonic The Hedgehog. Despite his looks, he comes from a different world and has claimed that this isn't the first time he has been transported to other worlds. He has no problem being around normal humans; his favorite food is Chilli Dogs... Surprisingly... And has no connections being a Heroic Spirit. *Looking Through the Papers* Hmm..." Romani explained
"Being from a different world... He has claimed this isn't his first time traveling to other places... And isn't a Heroic Spirit... Just exactly is this creature?" The Girl concerned
"There is no need to start getting concerned, Olga. Yes, the situation that is currently going on is something that we have never seen before. But we must remain calm and learn more about this mysterious creature. We'll soon learn more about him, I promise." Another Man stated
"(This unknown being's name is Sonic The Hedgehog... He isn't from our world, and his favorite food is... Chilli Dogs? Hmm... Maybe I can introduce myself to this being. Ensure he doesn't see us as a hostile organization to those outside...)." Mash thought
*Present*
"So that happened while I was stuck here, correct?" Sonic asks
"Yes, that's everything I heard while minding my business. I do feel bad listening to their conversation without their permission... I didn't mean to do that..." Mash regrets
"You didn't do anything wrong, Mash. I would've done the same thing if a conversation like that was in earshot. Hehe~ You are forgiven." Sonic assured
"Hehe~ I appreciate you assuring me of my wrongdoings. I'll try not to do something like that again." Mash thanking Sonic
As the two were still talking, the Door to the room slid open as three individuals entered the two rooms one by one. Sonic and Mash turn their heads to look at the three entering the room.
"(Great... Now, the three stooges decided to show up this time... And again, without any of the food they promised...)" Sonic thought
"I see you haven't gotten bored after being here for a What the? Kyrielight! What are you doing here? You're supposed to be at the briefing with your team and all the Master candidates!" Olga, in a stern voice
"U-Uh... I-I'm sorry, Director... I heard about the sudden appearance of this creature you discovered a couple of hours ago and was intrigued to meet him myself... I lost track of time and didn't go where I needed to...!" Mash panicking
"*Sighs* It will take more than a sorry, Kyrielight. Just get to the briefing with everyone else... You and I are going to have a long talk later." Olga stated
"*Sighs* Y-Yes... Director... I'll be on my way... Sorry, Sonic... *Exits The Room Out Of Pure Embassrement*"
"*Slightly Annoyed From The Conversation* Hey, I don't appreciate you talking down to someone like her. All she wanted was to come by and visit me for a little, and yet you get angry at her because of that? I think that's messed up." Sonic commented
"You worry less about her and more about yourself here! I want to know everything about you! Where did you come from, why are you here, and are you here to cause any issues?" Olga Integrating Sonic
"I'm starting to lose my patience here! I'm Sonic The Hedgehog! THE HEDGEHOG! This isn't my world! I'm not supposed to be here at all! All I want is to find a way to leave this place and return home! I don't know how, but that's my top priority here." Sonic explains
"Sorry for barging into the conversation. But can you please tell us how you managed to travel from this world to ours? I'm not too familiar with Hedgehog like you ever existed." Romani asks
"Oh, you know, some Evil-Scientist made this teleporter in hopes of traveling to different worlds to rule them, and I got sucked through it while trying to destroy it and made my way here soon after. Only myself went through it from what I can gather." Sonic explains
"And you think we're going to believe that coming from a talking animal like you? Tch... I want to see evidence that this happened!" Olga claimed
"Everything I'm saying is true! What else do you want me to explain?!" Sonic annoyed
"Now, everyone, let us not be hostile towards one another. I see this as a grand opportunity to research more that is beyond our world. Who knows what lies in such faraway lands? And our blue friend here has opened the gates to such lands." The Man said
"(This guy is weird...)" Sonic thought
"Don't you worry, Director? Let our Blue friend tell us more about himself without pushing him into a corner. I'm sure he'll gladly appreciate that." The Man said
"*Thinks For A Moment* Fine... But we won't let him leave our watch her for a while. We need to get to the bottom of who exactly this animal truly is. And I won't give up until we have an official answer." Olga stated
"Great... Just what I needed here... Being locked up here for undetermined time..." Sonic commented.
"Oh, don't worry, we won't be that cruel to you. We'll give you the proper hospitality to ensure that nothing happens to you despite how you look. If you excuse me, I have some important business to attend. *Walks Out Of The Room*" Olga said
"*Strecthes His Back* If only there were a way to escape this place. I don't mean to cause any problems. I want to go home and see my friends again..." Sonic stated
"I understand if you're unfamiliar with this place, Sonic. Also, please don't have any wrong ideas about the Director. She... isn't like this the whole time. Give it some, and you'll feel accepted... I'll come by later to discuss more. *Leaves The Room Soon After*" Romani apologizing
"*Looks At Romani Leaving Before Turning His Head At The Man With Green Attire* I'm guessing you also have something to say to me," Sonic said
"Not entirely, but I must say, though. You are a fascinating little creature here who just showed up so suddenly. I wonder how things will change thanks to your presence being here." The Man replies
"Uh-huh. Got anything else?"
"Oh no, that'll be all from me. I do apologize, but I must be going. I have places to go right now. But I'll say this right now: Welcome to Chaldea!"
*Sometime Later*
"*Eating A Chilli Dog Peacefully* It's been hours since I arrived in this Chaldea place... And all that has happened is me being seen as a science experiment by those who work here. But I can't argue with them... Who would even react knowing a talking Blue Hedgehog like myself was standing before them? But hey... At least this cold chili dog could pass some time here." Sonic narrated
As Sonic continues to eat the cold Chilli Dog, he is suddenly disrupted by the lights being cut out, and the room is filled with darkness. This caught Sonic off guard as he suddenly heard explosions outside the room, followed by the sirens blaring inside the room.
"*Chocking On The Chilli Dog But Quickly Spits Out The Food* W-WHAT THE?! What the heck was that just now?!" Sonic Caught Off-guard
"Emergency. Emergency. A fire has occurred in the Central Power Station and the Central Command Room. Central Area's containment wall will activate in 90 seconds. All staff must evacuate from Gate 2 at once. Repeat. The Central Power Station and the Central—"
"Guess that answers my question. But I don't have time to stand around and do nothing! I need to get to the bottom of this! *Runs To The Door Which Is Open* it's been opened the whole time!? Tch... Focus Sonic! There are more critical things to worry about! *Dashes Away Into The Hallway*"
Sonic dashes around the Halls of this Chaldea building, trying to figure out what was happening and what caused the alarms to go off. As he did so, many workers in this facility panicked and ran around like crazy. This only got Sonic more concerned as he goes faster. Soon enough, he stopped right in front of Romani, who was also running.
"*Skids In Front Of Romani* O-Oh! Hey there, Romani! Good to see you again!" Sonic said
"H-Huh?! Sonic?! What the heck are you doing here?! You were supposed to stay inside the room! Not just roam around here! Actually... Forget that; I must hurry and head to the Command Room!" Romani panicking
"Whoa! Relax buddy! Just calm down for a second and explain to me what is happening! The only thing I know is hearing an explosion and something about a fire being started." Sonic explained
"Look... A fire broke inside the Command Room, and I need to get there to find survivors... Mash and her team were in the Command Room when the explosion occurred; I must ensure everyone is safe and rescue them!" Romani explained
"Shoot! Mash?! Tell me where the Command Room is! I'll get there in no time to help her and other survivors!" Sonic begged
"Are you out of your mind?! You won't get there in time before the Containment wall closes!" Romani shouted
"Tch! *He Thinks For A Second* "All staff must evacuate from Gate 2 immediately." That's it! Gate 2! Bingo!"
"Wait! I swear you won't make it in time, Sonic! You're just walking into your death!"
"Heh~ They don't call me Sonic the Hedgehog for nothing. I may be just a Hedgehog! But I can guarantee you that I can rescue those trapped! *Dashes Away In Light Speed*"
"W-What in the...?! S-Sonic!" Romani shouted
*Inside The Command Room*
Soon enough, Sonic enters the Command Room, noticing the fire and the heavy damage the room has become. Sonic searches around for any survivors but with little results.
"*Looking Around As Fast As He Could* Dang it! Is anyone here?! I'm here to rescue you! ANYBODY!" Sonic shouted
As Sonic continues searching for Mash or any survivors, he finally stumbles across two young people lying on the ground just a few feet away. One was a boy with dark brown hair, and the other was a girl with red hair and a tie. Both were heavily injured from the explosion but still alive.
"*Runs Up To The Two And Helps Them Up* Don't worry! You're safe now!" Sonic exclaimed
"*Looks At Sonic, Caught Off Guard By His Appearance* H-Huh... Wh... at...?" The Boy shock
"Yes, I'm a Hedgehog standing in two feet, able to talk! That doesn't matter at the moment! I must get you two out of this as soon as possible! *Quickly Runs Out Of The Room And Brings The Two Into Safety As He Gets The Two Far From The Command Room* You guys relax here. I need to return to that place and look for more survivors." Sonic said
"W-Who... are you... a-anyway...? W-Why... are you... doing... this...?" The Girl asks
"Sonic The Hedgehog. That's all you need to know from me. *Dashes Away*"
"S-Sonic... The... H-Hedgehog..." The Boy trying to speak
Sonic returns to the Command Room shortly after saving the two young people to find more survivors, but the fire and damage made any rescue attempt more difficult for him. Sonic begins to cough at the smoke, breathing it in and sweating profusely.
"ANY SURVIVORS SOMEONE! PLEASE SAY ANYTHING! PLEASE! I'M HERE TO RESCUE YOU! *Coughing*"
Suddenly, he hears a sound coming from a coffin and notices Mash inside, bleeding from her. Sonic quickly approaches the coffin and gets inside to rescue her.
"Son... n-nic..." Mash Heavily Injured
"Don't worry, Mash! You're safe now; I'll get you out of here! Hang on tight!" Sonic assured
"L-Leave me... S-Sonic... go..." Mash begged
"I am not leaving you behind, Mash! I'm getting you out no matter what-"
"Central Area, sealed. Fifty seconds till internal containment procedure."
"Uh... What does that mean...?"
"...N-No... This area was shut off... W-We no longer... can escape..." Mash stated
"*Notices The Coffin Door Closing As He Attempts To Kick The Door Down With His Strength* Dang it! Why are you doing this?! Let us out, for crying out loud! *Rams Into The Door Several Times*" Sonic shouted
"F-Forgive me... Sonic... I-I never wanted you... to get involved... I-it's my fault..." Mash in sorrow
"It was never your fault, Mash. I came here because it was my decision. No matter the situation, we both run into it. Just remember, I'll always be with you. And that's a promise I'll hold on until the end of time." Sonic stated
"S-Sonic..."
"Coffin Vitals: Master baseline not reached. Rayshift requirement not met. Searching for qualifying Master… Found. Unidentified Candidate reset as Master. Unsummon Program, start. Spiritron Conversion, start."
"Um… Son… ic…? Would you mind… Holding my hand?" Mash asks
"Of course. *Holds Her Hand* Together forever, Mash." Sonic said
"Rayshift starting in 3… 2… 1… All procedures are clear. First Order, commencing operation."
*At An Unknown Location*
After being out for what seems like forever, Sonic opens his eyes slowly, unaware that he is at a new location rather than Chaldea. His eyes were trying to adjust their vision, and as they did, he realized he was outside in the middle of a wrecked city. Buildings are destroyed, and fires are everywhere, unlike Sonic has seen before. After regaining consciousness, he slowly gets up, rubs his forehead, and looks around at the area he is now in.
"*Looking Around At His Surrounding* What in the world is this place...? Am I back in Crisis City...? *Picks Up A Rock And Throws It A Glass, Shattering It* Guess this isn't some dream I'm currently experiencing..." Sonic commented
"Master! Oh, thank goodness you're awake! For a second, I would've threatened you had you were still sleeping!"
"Well, that's uncalled for. Wait, that voice... Could that be? *Turns Around And Notices Mash Running Towards Him With A Little Creature On Her Shoulder* Mash!" Sonic surprised
"Sonic! I'm so glad you're awake now! Please don't scare me like that again..." Mash said
"Fou Fou! Fou Fou! (Glad to know you're finally awake, Blue. It only took you 20 minutes for you to do so.)"
"Well, a Hedgehog's gotta sleep as well, right? Anyway, I'm so relieved that you're safe, Mash. But what's with the new outfit?" Sonic questions
"O-Oh... Well... Umm... I'm unsure how to explain it correctly... and we don't have time to discuss it anyway..."
"Gi-GAAAAAAAAA!"
"*Notices A Few Monsters Heading Towards Them* Linguistic communication impossible! Identifying life-form as hostile! Master, your orders, please!" Mash exclaimed
"(Master? What does she mean by that? I'll think about it later. Right now, I have a couple of chumps to deal with!) Like a couple of these guys are a threat to us! Give me a quick second, buddy! *Dashes Towards The Monsters And Runs Around Them, Forming A Blue Tornado That Lifts And Blows Them Away. Skidding Soon After To Stop Himself* Hehe~"
"W-Wow... Incredible! I've never seen anyone run that fast before..." Mash shock
"Just another day in the office, Mash. This isn't the only thing I can do! But I'll show you what I can do later; now, let's head somewhere safe." Sonic said
"That would be for the best, Master! I'll take the lead here if you don't mind!" Mash stated
*Sometime Later*
"So, in a nutshell, your team and all of those candidates were tasked with checking these so-called Singularities with these "Heroic Spirits," correct?" Sonic questions
"That is correct. We are all tasted into traveling into these Singulriatires that appear and are to fix it before it causes any damage to Humanity's future." Mash replies
"Although this is one of those crazy adventures that I'm not too informed about or what to expect later on. But I'm glad you're safe, alongside those two young people I saved inside the Command Room." Sonic said
"Two young people? Are you talking about Ritsuka Fujimaru and Rikka Tachibana?" Mash asks
"Wait, you know their names?"
"I... may have heard their name through passing as well... F-Forgive me for eavesdropping again, Master..." Mash apologizing
"Go figure... *Hears Another Voice Coming* Hmm?"
"Hello?! Can anyone hear me?! I was finally able to get through! This is Chaldea Command Room! Can you read me?" Romani asked
"Mash Kyrielight, member of Team A. I have successfully shifted to Singularity F. My companion is the unregistered Master, Sonic The Hedgehog. Both mind and body are intact and rayshift and master compatibility being satisfactory." Mash replies
"No way...! So it was Sonic that managed to rayshift with you?! How can that even happen in the first place?!" Romani shock
"Your guess is as good as mine, Romani. But life comes at you unexpectedly. Like how I just appeared out of nowhere into this world." Sonic commented
"That is true... But as for you, Mash. Going over your condition and physical condition, Magic Circuit, everything has increased to levels far beyond normal humans. Don't tell me..." Romani said
"Indeed, I am not a Servant. While myself and Master were being sent to this place, I met a Heroic Spirit who lost his Master and gave up everything to me as a chance to survive." Mash explains
"It seems the Demi-Servant experiment was a success after all... But, I'm glad you survived because of said Servant." Romani said
"Yeah... But I never knew their name or his Noble Phantasm before he vanished... I'm just here keeping their abilities to myself, and I don't even know their name or anything of that sort..." Mash saddened
"It's alright, Mash. It's not every time a Servant is willing to help any Humans. You were fortunate that this Heroic Spirit gave you everything. He saw something inside you and knew you were the perfect person to continue his legacy. And what's more, you can also help Sonic throughout this." Romani said
"I'll do anything to protect Master!" Mash promised
"Servants...? What exactly are you two talking about? I know little about these so-called "Servants," but still." Sonic confuse
"To explain, in short, Servants or Heroic Spirits are familiar and capable of being summoned by those that call themselves Magues and are tasked to assist a Master with sorts of tasks. Their main attribute is to fight in battle. Servants also come in different Classes, none of them are the same as a result." Romani explains
"I see. You did mention that Mash became a Servant. Could that be the reason I have this weird-looking mark on my hand? *Shows Mash The Emerald Shaped Mark on His Hand*" Sonic commented
"That is correct, Sonic. What that is on your right hand is called a Command Seal. With it, you can Command me or any other Servant in your party. We will obey every Command you give us, no questions asked!" Mash said
"I don't like the concept of Master and Servant relationship... Yeah, I'll gladly lead a team, but I wouldn't say I like controlling what others must do. I prefer freedom; it's been a staple for me for a long time. And I won't take your guy's freedom away just because I'm a Master... I see no point in controlling someone else..." Sonic stated
"Quite the mindest you have there, Sonic. Able to give freedom to Servants is something a Magus lacks these days. But we'll talk about that at a later date. Right now, it would be best if you were focusing on finding a leyline to make our connection stronger. I am currently detecting one 2 KM away." Romani commented
"Got it. We'll make our way to that area soon. Are you ready to head out, Master? It won't be easy, so we should get going." Mash said
"Sounds like a plan! *Picks Up Fou, Places Him On His Head, And Picks Mash Up In A Bridal Carry* Ready?"
"*Blushing* W-Wait! M-Master!"
"I'll take that as a yes. Alright, let's go! *Dashes Off In Light Speed*"
