Episode 5: An Odd Series of Events

It didn't take long for it to be normal to see Mousse training with Ranma and the others, trying to turn their curses into another extension of themselves and maybe even a ace they can save for battle.

After a few weeks life was normal again. School was normal, training was normal, life was as peaceful as it gets.

During afternoon training though, as they were about to spar against each other, they heard the dojo door open and saw an angry girl standing at the entrance.

She walked in and her voice boomed in the dojo.

(Unknown) WHICH ONE OF YOU IS RANMA SAOTOME?!

Everyone turned to look at the red headed female Ranma.

(Akane) You know this girl?

(Ranma)(F) No idea. You guys?

Ryoga and Mousse shook their heads.

(Unknown) I see, you girls don't know him, okay. Sorry to disturb you.

(Ranma) Wait, that's me. Why?

(Unknown) Sorry, the Ranma I'm looking for is a tall man.

(Ranma) Yeah. THATS ME!

(Unknown) Are you messing with me right now? Because I'm not in the mood for crappy humor.

(Ranma) Fuck it. Hey Mousse can you pass the warm water.

Ranma then turned back into his male form by dumping warm water onto himself.

(Ranma)(M) See? So how can I help you?

The girl pulled out an odd, but extremely sharp weapon that almost cut Ranma in half, hadn't he been fast enough.

(Ranma) Woah! What the hell was that for?!

(Unknown) You don't remember me?

(Ranma) No, I don't. First, did you fall into a cursed hot spring?

The girl swung, Ranma dodged.

(Unknown) What the hell is a cursed hot spring you dumbass!?

(Ranma) Okay... Did me and my father steal from your village or town?

(Unknown) You are just evil you asshole!

(Ranma) I GOT IT! Did my Dad betroth you to me at a very young age?

(Unknown) DING DING MOTHERFUCKER!

(Ranma) Look, you're not special, my Dad did that a lot to get free stuff. So you're gonna have to be more specific.

(Unknown) Okinomiyaki.

Ranma thought for a second then looked relieved for some reason.

(Ranma) Holy Shit, Ukyo?

(Ukyo) Yeah. It's me. I'm here to take reve-

(Ranma) How've you been Ukyo! I haven't seen you in forever! It's been what, ten years since I saw you?

(Ukyo) Um... you don't remember the last time you saw me, do you?

(Ranma) Nope, I have no recollection. Why?

(Ukyo) Your demon of a father abandoned me!

(Ranma) I see... Wanna kick his ass then?

(Ukyo) Sounds great where is he?

(Ranma) Hm... Maybe that isn't such a great idea. Let me introduce you to some friends and then I'll show you the way.

(Ukyo) Why does that matter?

(Ranma) Trust me, it'll make sense.

Ranma introduced everyone, including Akane.

(Ukyo) I don't get it, if she's your fiancee, then what's with the other girls?

Ryoga and Mousse then transformed, becoming men again.

(Ranma) See, so my father can do the same and become a woman. But as a woman he's slower, but much stronger.

(Ukyo) I see. Let's go. Also, nice to meet everyone!

A few minutes later, there was yelling and then the two started brawling outside to which Ukyo somehow knocked female Genma unconscious.

(Ranma) Feel better?

(Ukyo) Yeah actually. I was expecting you to defend him though.

(Ranma) Nah. He has to pay for at least some of the things he did when I was younger.

After this, Genma was laid out in her room and everyone got to know Ukyo and her journey of becoming a great chef that specializes in anything Okinomiyaki.

It turns out that her father hadn't felt sadness for too long after relinquishing the practice of Okinomiyaki because he went on to find other things he was great at cooking and is now a travelling gourmet chef that travels the country, taking random jobs that help struggling restaurants and sharing his talents with them. People have tried to predict his movement and taste the food he has made, but no one ever gets the chance to get a second taste.

Another thing is that for a short amount of time, he found Ukyo and taught her everything he knows over time and they went their separate ways recently and she came here while he went to another town. When people tried to follow her and pester her about her father, she roughed them up and disappeared.

(Mousse) How inspiring

(Ryoga) I wish I could find my Dad. He's somewhere in this country but I haven't seen him in a while.

(Ukyo) I'm sorry to hear that your father shipped out on you.

(Ryoga) What? No! Our entire family has no sense of direction so we have no idea where we are half the time.

(Ukyo) I. . . see.

(Akane) So what now?

(Ukyo) Well, I'll probably set up an Okinomiyaki shop in town and stay here for a while. But I want to know what happened to you guys! How come you can turn into girls?

(Ranma) Well, each of us fell into a cursed hot spring at a training ground in China famous for it's cursed hot springs. We all just happened to fall into the same one.

(Ranma) But it's odd, being girls isn't the only thing that changes. So did our combat capabilities.

(Ukyo) Like what? Having boobs slow ya down?

(Ranma) Well no, but for me, I'm weaker, but faster.

(Ryoga) For me, I'm weaker but I have increased awareness! When I'm a girl, I know exactly where I am and where others are!

(Mousse) For me, I am slower, but my sight is so much better! When I'm a girl, I don't even need my glasses

(Ukyo) What about her?

(Akane) I'm not cursed!

(Ranma) She may not be cursed, but when she's fighting, she's got a lot of power, but is a little slow.

(Akane) Ranma!

(Ranma) What? That's what you're working on.

(Akane) What if we fight her in the future?

(Ranma) Look, with the strength you have, mixed with your short temper, I'm pretty sure you can beat just about anyone

(Akane) I can't tell if that was a compliment or not, but you're really testing me right now..

(Ukyo) Hold on, just to even everything out, I'm fast, but have a limited range. Okay?

(Ranma) You see, we all have our strengths and weaknesses.

(Ukyo) Ya know, I just thought of something. I just remembered a time I did hear of Jusenkyo. I remember that it turns people into animals and monsters. But how did ALL of you get turned into girls?

(Ryoga) Honestly we have no idea. I thought we all just fell into the same hot spring until Mousse said that he fell into a different hotspring.

(Ukyo) I wonder if it can have the opposite effect?

(Ranma) Like, turn girls into guys?

(Ukyo) Yeah.

(Akane) Yeesh, that would be a pain in the ass. That would mean that any female enemies that any of us have made could become unrecognizable if they fall into the cursed springs.

(Mousse) So, Ukyo, was it? Are you gonna stay here or are you gonna head to another town?

(Ukyo) For now, I'm gonna open up a shop in town to sell okonomiyaki.

The group talked for a while longer before Ukyo left, saying that the store itself is where she's staying and that she has already furnished it a few days prior before she came.

(Ranma) That reminds me, Mousse. Where are you staying?

(Mousse) Right now, I don't really have a place to stay at the moment.

(Ukyo) You could stay with me. In exchange, you can work for me in your female form.

(Mousse) Although I love Shampoo, it would be nice to peacefully wake up for once.

Everyone had a collective thought on their minds. "What does he mean by "peacefully"?"

After she left, Genma woke up and berated the group about not sticking up for her and allowing someone to put hands on her like that.

Everyone ignored her, even Soun didn't back him up in a situation like this.

(Genma)(F) Tendo! Back me up her old friend!

(Soun) All I can say is that, what goes around comes back around eventually.

The rest of the afternoon went as normal before night fell.

After spying on them all day, Shampoo went home to her grandmother.

(Cologne) So? Is he dead or is he at least suffering?

(Shampoo) *Sigh* Grandmother... He completely fine. He only fall asleep for few hour. Poison no work!

(Cologne) Interesting... and here I thought that he was a normal human that was cursed. Anything else to report?

(Shampoo) Yes. Mousse is here in Nerima. But he cursed. He turn into girl like the Ranma boy.

(Cologne) Really? Anything else?

(Shampoo) It not only Ranma boy and Mousse. Two other turn into girl. One name Ryoga and other Genma Saotome.

(Cologne) Okay... that's very strange. There should only be a few springs that are even connected to humans, let alone women alone.

(Shampoo) What now Grandmother?

(Cologne) Shampoo, as much as I hate to say it. You need to become friends with these enemies in order to figure out how we can relieve you of your curse.

(Shampoo) What if I kidnap them?

(Cologne) Kidnap them? Shampoo, there are four of them. That would mean that you would have to defeat all four of them and bring them here. You're incapable of doing that alone.

(Shampoo) Knockout gas?

(Cologne) Still, it seems that the Ranma kid and the Mousse have become resistant to the poisons we have employed so it might not work on them, but still, that is two people that are unable to fight. Could you really handle two fighters on your own, even in your cursed form?

(Shampoo) Yes!

The next few days went normally. Ranma and everyone else went to school as normal, the only different thing being that Ukyo transferred into their class.

Ranma and Akane were jealous that Kuno didn't try to assault her on the first day like he did female Ranma and Akane.

Afterwards, Ranma, Akane, Ryoga and Mousse all trained together for a few hours. Ukyo joined them part way to improve her own combat ability.

That night, when Ranma and Akane were sleeping, they both woke up to someone moving around the bottom floor.

Ranma quietly opened Akane's door and they both were about to leave Akane's room. They were stopped by a tall looking figure that was dressed in a black but with purple hair falling out of the back.

Ranma ran towards the man and tackled him downstairs with an audible, but quiet thump as they landed.

(Ranma) Ok, who the hell are you!?

The person dressed in all black suddenly threw a powder in Ranma's face as Akane made her way down the stairs.

Ranma then passed out and the intruder suddenly jumped past Akane and came back down the stairs carrying a sleeping female Ryoga and Mousse.

Akane tried to fight the intruder head-on. She did some read damage but the intruder used the sleeping powder on her and she passed out from sudden drowsiness.

When she finally woke up, Soun was standing over her.

(Genma) Yeah. Been there, kid. Some advice, strap your arm to the bed, it works every time.

Akane sat up in the common room, still trying to wake up.

(Akane) Oh crap, I forgot! Ranma and the others got kidnapped last night!

(Soun) Oh. . . ok.

(Akane) Wait, you're not worried?

(Soun) Well think about it for a second. It's a weekend, so no one is missing any school. Also, think about who they are.

It's three teenagers and an old man, each with their own way of being as destructive as possible. Whoever kidnapped them . . . I feel sorry for them.

Ranma, Ryoga, Mousse and Genma all woke up at the same time.

(Ranma)(F) Hmm... What the?

It seemed that they were in an old basement. There were tables, chairs and other equipment on one wall and they were inside a steel cell that was half the size of the basement. In the basement, there was a single dim light that was in the middle of the roof. The walls were slightly dirty with small stains.

(Ryoga)(F) Where the hell are we?!

(Mousse)(F) That's odd, this is the restaurant basement. I don't remember coming back here.

(Genma)(F) WAIT. You KNOW this crappy place?

(Mousse) Yeah, I stayed here for a few nights before I wandered around as a girl for a while.

Everyone then looked at themselves.

(Ranma) I don't know about you guys, but I don't remember sleeping in my cursed form.

(Genma) Neither do I...

(Ryoga & Mousse) I do.

(Ranma) What happened?

(Ryoga) I changed form before bed. Having a smaller body gives me more blanket.

(Mousse) Yeah, same idea.

(Genma) Damn, never thought of that before!

(Ranma) We're getting sidetracked! Okay Mousse, how do we get out of here?

(Mousse) Thats the thing. I don't really know. I heard the door open, then I just... walked out and into the street.

(Ranma) Okay... Pops, think you can break the door or somethin?

(Genma) No way! Those bars can break my hands or feet! I'm not trying to have broken limbs right now. If you want to try, you be my guest.

(Ranma) Well, in terms of strength, you have the strongest cursed form out of all of us, so wanna hitting it together?

Genma's ears perked up at the comment. She blushed a little bit.

(Genma) Weeell, since I AM the strongest, why not!

(Ranma) You guys gonna help?

(Ryoga) Sure.

(Mousse) Ok.

All of the girls charged the door.

When they hit the door, it fell under their combined force. The whole room shook when they all hit the door and it fell.

After getting up, the door at the top of the basement opened and a purple haired girl ran down to see the commotion. She. was. pissed.

(Shampoo) WHAT YOU DOING!? WHY YOU NO STAY IN CAGE?

She was yelling at them as if THEY were the offenders.

(Ranma) I really, don't feel like it today. Get outta the way Shampoo!

Ranma jumped in front of the girl, picked her up by the legs and threw her into the cell and in the next moment everyone jumped up the stairs and ran through the door.

(Ranma) Pops, throw the door.

Genma then picked up the door like it weighed nothing and threw it at the cell. The door didn't go back onto it's hinges, but it would slow Shampoo down for a second.

When they exited the basement, they were suddenly in a restaurant kitchen. They figured out which one was the rear door and left before anyone noticed them.

Cologne went inside the kitchen right after they opened the door and ran out.

(Cologne) SHAMPOO, where are the next orders!? I need them this instant-

After she finished her sentence, Shampoo burst out of the basement looking for the four girls. Her face went from outraged to a calmed anger as she saw her grandmother.

(Cologne) What the? Shampoo, what were you doing in there? Did something happen... Did they escape?

Shampoo was still catching her breath.

(Shampoo) Yes Grandmother.

(Cologne) Unfortunately, we are working right now. Clean yourself up and get back to work, I'll tell the customers that there has been a delay by some criminals.

Shampoo dusted herself off and went back to work as if nothing happened and Cologne spoke to the polite customers

The four went back to the Tendo residence. But as they went, they realized that they had been gone for while since the sun was starting to set again.

(Akane) Ranma, everyone! Finally, you're back! I was looking for you guys all day!

(Ranma) Well, thanks for the effort, but it was Shampoo that had kidnapped us.

(Akane) But it was a guy that broke in here. How is that possible?

(Ranma) Well, it could be entirely possible that she also fell into a cursed spring or that she has a sibling with the same colored hair and is an even bigger pain in the ass then she is!

(Akane) What..? Are those really your two theories?

(Ryoga) I mean, do you have a better one?

(Akane) No, I mean that the first one makes so much more sense for our situation. A sibling? You really think that the same person who kidnapped you in the dead of night and got embarrassed by you is barred from having the same misfortune to fall into a cursed spring?

(Genma) A sibling is a little more realistic though.

Soun, listening to their conversation, walked over and smacked each girl, except for Akane, on the head with his newspaper.

(Soun) Are you four SERIOUS!? Since when have our lives been normal? Genma! You, your son and his friends are ALL capable of turning into biological men and women from being submerged in water. You and I used to travel the country with our master around the entire country when we were in our 20's to learn martial arts! You used your son as a meal ticket by bewedding him to many girls when he was younger and almost NONE of them have come looking for him. None of this is normal! Don't use "realistic" to describe anything when our lives are anything but!

After Soun finished his small tirade, he went back to where he was sitting and started playing a solo game of Shogi.

Everyone just stared for a while.

Kasumi leaned out of the kitchen to look at her father.

Nebiki even came down stairs to see the sudden commotion. Being confused, she asked Kasumi and then also stared at her father.

Everyone stared at Soun Tendo, the man who was always calm and never yelled at anybody, even when "certain people" would destroy parts of his home.

Soun felt the stares and addressed everyone normally.

(Soun) Is... something wrong?

(Everyone in unison) Nope, not at all.

Kasumi disappeared back into the kitchen, Nebiki went back up stairs and everyone else went outside.

(Ranma) So that was odd, but how do we see for sure if its really her or not?

(Akane) I have an idea.

Ranma, Genma, Ryoga and Mousse all looked at her, waiting for what she had planned.
