Cursed Attraction

"Uggh, men are such lamewads!" Nobara Kugisaki cursed. She was in such a foul mood. The girl stormed out of her room, shutting the door behind her hard.

Earlier that day she went on a date, which ended pretty badly when the guy invited her in the back of his convertible. So the douche nozzle expected some freebie just because he dined her and bought her exquisite dresses? "Pathetic!"

Not that she was one to brag (She was) but the idea that they were dating a drop dead gorgeous and strong Jujutsu women sorceress like herself should be satisfactory enough.

As for the poor soul on topic, he was sleeping in the back of his car, alone. It pondered the question, "Why are all men like this?"

She'd ask the guys at Jujutsu Tech but for some reason they were nowhere to be found, definitely not because they were in hiding from her and her straw doll technique.

Fortunately, she knew where one guy who would give her better insight would be.

Megumi Fushiguro wondered what the cold spine tingling sensation of impending doom was that ran down his spine.

"Strange…" The spikey blacked haired boy thought, having a blank expression on his face. He was still in bed, reading the huge stacks of manga that Itadori brought for him. Towers of it sat next to the nightstand. There wasn't much to do in bed and he was instructed to stay put, Dr Shoko's orders.

"Fushiguro-kun!" Nobara kicked the door open. Her proud shoulders finally slumped down in complete and utter defeat. She needed one of her best friends comfort.

"Yeah, Kugisaki. What do you need?" Megumi didn't even bother to look up; his eyes were focused on the comic panels.

"What do you mean, what do I need?! Can't I just come and see a dear ol' friend!?" She dramatically placed her hand on her forehead, pretending to faint. "And how did you know it was me!?"

"I could hear you coming from a mile away." He said boldly. Megumi flipped a page.

She had a serious look on her face, as if she was ready to give the world's biggest beatdowns ever. "Are you calling me fat!?"

Now Megumi was no stranger to beat downs. In his short stay in Jujutsu High, he had his ass handed to him by Sukuna and Todo. The point of recovery was to get out of it not stay in.

"You know I didn't mean that." Megumi flipped another page. He looked up to finally diffuse the situation.

Which did him a huge favour because Kugisaki stood next to him with Itadori's three in one manga booklets in her hands, ready to smack it across his head.

"Whatever!" She said grouchily. Nobara sat down on his bed, sighing in exhaustion.

Megumi continued to read without a care in the world. It was complete silence.

Nobara was fuming in the silence, giving the boy a glare. Her patience was wearing thin.

He turned towards another page. This is a pretty good Shonen. Yuji has good taste. He thought.

"That's it!" Her fist came down hard on Megumi's legs that were tucked under the blanket. "What the hell is wrong with you!?"

Or with all the men as a matter of fact!

He looked up with a face of indifference. "Nothing."

"Grrrr!" She was getting emotional. "Like aren't you going to ask me what's wrong!?"

"Okay. What's wrong?"

"You're only asking now because I did!" She crossed her arms, looking away. "You hurt me Fushiguro-kun."

Poor Megumi always had the worst of luck when it came to women. With a sigh of his own, Megumi closed the book and sat it down, finally giving Nobara his undivided attention.

"What's wrong Kugisaki?" He asked a bit more sincerely. She turned her head, facing him.

"Why are all men such pigs!?"

Asking a question with another question?

Megumi raised an eyebrow. "Because not all of them are."

She didn't like the answer. "Oh yeah, then tell me this wise guy, how come all of the guys I like are jerks!? And why are all the men here in hiding like they are scared of me?!"

"That's because they are scared of you." He said plainly and bravely at the fierce girl. "And maybe you should stop dating jerks then."

"And date who? The supposed 'nice guys' who are only after one thing?" It dawned on her; then again, the jerks were only more upfront about their intentions.

This is a headache. He thought. He pinched the bridge of his nose. Maybe asking him wasn't the best of ideas. After all, his love live was basically non existent outside of the advice Tsukimi had given him, which is a scalp he'd rather not open.

Not to mention he had a good for nothing father who only managed to get himself killed with huge debts thanks to his gambling addiction. The less he knew about him the better.

Nobara groaned. Eventhough she didn't get the answer she wanted, it felt like weight was lifted off her. "I just want to be wined and dined so badly! Is that wrong? I love being treated like a girl."

"Not at all."

"Yeah, us girls sometimes can't tell the difference between a bad boy and a boy who is bad but…" She didn't have the answer to that either. "Pfft!"

Regardless it was nice to rely on a good friend and have that burden slightly lifted.

There was this innocence Megumi had. He couldn't look her in the eyes. Instead he stayed fixed on his feet. "I just know whoever wins your heart better treat you right. You deserve the best Kugisaki. You're a strong and capable fighter and a reliable friend. No one should ever take you for granted."

Obviously her ego already knew that, but it didn't stop the short auburn haired girl from blushing. She smiled. "Finally, some recognition. Fushiguro you actually get it!"

What was that? She wondered, clutching her chest. Maybe it was that boyish charm he had like when he pronounced sunflowers.

Megumi smiled. It was great to see her back to her own and full of her own self. He really wasn't open about his own feelings. However, he hated seeing his friends hurt.

"You know…" She tucked her short strand of hair behind her ear. She bit her lip. "If a girl saw this side of you, they'll fall head over heels for you."

Her face radiated under the orange sunset light. He looked away feeling his own face burning up too.

"That is the least of my problems now." He laid back down on the bed.

"Excuse me but when a girl complements you, you take it!" She rolled her eyes.

He was just tired now. "Whatever."

She took the pillow that was used to prop Megumi's feet up and used it to whack him. "You jerk, be grateful!"

Nobara smirked. "Like I'm trying to be a match maker here. You won't find a cuter cupid anywhere else."

Megumi had a small smile on him. He couldn't help it. "You wish."

She took it on as a dare, which Nobara Kugisaki's pride wouldn't pass. Megumi grabbed her pillow, blocking the attack.

"If I get a boyfriend it's only fair that you and Itadori get girlfriends too!" She wrestled with Megumi over the pillow. "Me first tho!"

She had the higher ground but that didn't stop Megumi from asking. "What if I get a girlfriend first?"

"I'll….I'll get really mad!"

"Why?"

"I don't know, stop asking!" She shouted. Nobara was getting redder by the second.

Megumi grabbed her wrists and rolled them over. He had the upper hand now.

"You'll get jealous."

"Of course I would! I don't want to get left behind!" The whole debacle with Yuji and Ozawa really hit all of her insecurities.

"You won't. I promise." He assured her. Their eyes met and only then did they realize in what position they were in.

Megumi was on top of her with both her wrists pinned over her head. Nobara panted as she tried to catch her breath.

"You can't promise me that." Unless….

She closed her eyes. Megumi cupped her cheek. Her skin was so smooth. This wasn't right. He didn't want to hurt her but not doing so also would.

Damnit! Megumi was between a rock and a hard place.

She smelled nice. He closed his eyes too. Regardless he intended to be there for her, whether that was as a friend or maybe more remained to be seen.

Megumi leaned down. He could feel her breath tickling his upper lip. Nobara puckered her lips. They were about to kiss when all of a sudden…

Nobara's stomach grumbled.

Both their eyes shot open. Nobara was so embarrassed that even her ears were red. Megumi tried to supress his laughter. He was shaking like a leaf.

Talk about ruining a moment.

She gritted her teeth. "Stop laughing it's not funny!"

That didn't stop him from chuckling slightly. "Sorry."

He rolled off and laid beside her. The single bed may not have been suitable for two people in mind but since their shoulders were pressed together they could fit in just fine.

Nobara was just in disbelieve. I can't believe he almost kissed me. Wait, he was going to kiss me right? Right?

She had no idea whether to be relieved or disappointed.

Megumi was just content it was Nobara's stomach and not their eccentric teacher, Satoru Gojo who had a tendency to not knock on doors before opening or Maki Zenin, who would no doubt spear chuck him into the hereafter.

"Even girls get hungry, you know…"

They stared at the ceiling.

"Pizza?"

"Only if you're paying." She had a huge smile.

He was certain he never saw her with a wallet anyways. "Fine but I choose the topping."

"Come on, Megumi. Don't be like that!" She even sweet-talked him by calling him by his first name.

"What topping do you want?" He gave her a sceptical look.

"Ham and pineapple!" She said guilt free.

"Deal's off. Get out of my room."

At the end of the day, Megumi caved in and bought two extra large pizzas, a sweet chilli chicken for him and a pineapple and ham for Nobara. Even an anti social guy like himself is a sucker for a pretty face.

Besides, he just wanted her to forget what had just transpired an hour ago and it was actually working.

But just because it wasn't being talked about didn't necessarily mean it was forgotten after all.

Nobara would even give him side-glances quickly while taking bites of her stringy cheese.

Did she regret it? He wondered. Megumi took a bite of his own pizza. The combination of sweet and saltiness infinitely better than the girl's who sat beside him.

Together, they ate in silence, enjoying each other's company. It was already night time with the television light illuminating the dark room. Yuji lend them his entire Earthworm Human trilogy on DVD. He did invite Nobara to the fourth one. She wasn't going to jump into it when she never bothered with the first one to begin with.

Luckily, neither of them were movie snobs because the movies are the definition of campy horror. Megumi was happy something anything really was playing in the background. The whole situation was awkward enough already.

If only Gojo did not drag Yuji to a super secret mission to exorcise some nightmarish special grade curse. His company would have helped.

What the three of them have is really special. Megumi really hoped he didn't screw it up. He took another bite as it ate him up.

Nobara gave him a look through the corner of her eyes before thwarting back towards the television screen. The animal right activist screamed bloody murder before getting her head chomped off.

"Hey Fushiguro."

It was hard to swallow all of a sudden. "Yeah?"

"Do you have a charger I can use? My phone is basically dead and I'm way to lazy to go back to my dorm room."

Despite his poker face, a wave of relief washed over him.

"Check the drawer on your right." He took another bite of his pizza slice. Somehow, the college campus kids were doing a decent job fending of against the baby earthworms.

Nobara bit onto her pizza crust, wiping her hands off with her beige hoodie. She rummaged into his nightstand but suddenly stopped.

"Uhhh…Fushiguro."

"Hmm?" He was pre occupied with the movie. The miniature worms were about to avenge their father by killing his murderer.

"Really Fushiguro?" Nobara had a smug grin as she pulled out a packet of condoms out of the drawer.

"Oh."

That got his attention.

He forgot he had those.

"Oh? Is that all you have to say?" Her mischievous grin getting bigger. She was having a field day while twiddling it between her fingers. "You've been a busy boy when you should be recovering."

Now there was a perfectly good and logical explanation for this. Not that she would listen because it would ruin her teasing narrative.

"Yuji has some too."

Perhaps he could have worded it better.

Nobara blushed as a mental image came to her mind. She had a serious demeanour now. "I….didn't think that you and Itadori had that kind of relationship."

He rolled his eyes. "No, you idiot! Yuki gave it to us."

She gasped. "So the theory of her liking younger boys is true!?"

He sighed. He guessed the ladies of Jujutsu Tech didn't get the memo.

"Come on!" She couched him on. "You can tell me! Do you have some fling fling with Mei Mei?"

Nobara winked. "Do you and Maki have some sweet home Alabama thing going on? I mean friction is already pretty rough within the Zenin clan and now you're throwing a spanner in their works with a forbidden apple relationship!"

"No, no and no." Megumi denied all of Nobara's overly active imagination. Her face dropped in disappointment.

So he told the truth. Special Grade sorceress Yuki Tsukumo along with Satoru Gojo brought protection for all the boys. After all, Jujutsu Sorcerers fights and dies alone without worrying about potential off springs.

Him and Yuji won't need it. Toudou decided to remain pure for Takada. Mechamaru wouldn't be needing it either. Allthough, he wouldn't have crossed out Inumaki if it were for his cursed speech. Panda insisted the boy was quite the ladies man and a great listener.

For the most part, it was handled with utmost maturity. That was until Gojo took the stage, wanting to impress his students. He demonstrated by pulling on it and fitting his two fingers through it. All the while giving sexual innuendo jokes.

Eventually, like a child, Gojo grew weary. He blew the condom up like a balloon and snuck behind the blissfully unaware salary man Nanami, who just wanted to catch up on his reading backlog. The white haired menace popped it and ran away like a mad man.

The truth wasn't as fun as Nobara's fiction. "That's boring. You're boring Fushiguro!"

He slightly smiled. "Sorry to disappoint."

Groaning, she sat back down next to him. "You're surrounded by some of the most drop dead gorgeous women in the world. Do something!"

His eyebrows were furrowed. "I'm not going to get into a relationship just for your amusement, Kugisaki."

"Who said it was for me?" She raised her hands in defence. "I only want what's best for my buddy."

He shrugged. "Maybe I just like being alone."

It was Nobara's time to pull Fushiguro's face. "You're quite the brooder, aren't you. All you need now is a black cape."

But since everyone took such an interest in his love live, he might aswell add. "If I do get a girlfriend, I hope she gets along with you."

That made the overly cocky Nobara Kugisaki turn a deep shade of red. Fortunately, for her it was concealed by the dark of night.

"Oh." Now it was her turn.

She crossed her legs and cleared her throat She had a smile. Shitty date aside, today wasn't so bad. "So theoretically, if you had the perfect girl and she didn't like me, you'd dump her?"

"In a heart beat." Megumi said.

"And if I met the perfect man, like a perfect 10 and he didn't like you, I'd leave his ass."

"Is that so?"

"Mhmm." She nodded. "Faster than Toge can say "Benito flakes.""

Nobara laughed while Megumi chuckled.

They basked in each other's company. Megumi now didn't want any interruptions. He no longer had the urge to summon the shikigami Rue to break through these walls, get grabbed by its claws and be taken far away.

He wanted this.

He wanted her.

Subconsciously, Megumi and Nobara's hands moved closer towards one another, not even once did they break eye contact. He squeezed her hand. She squeezed back.

She was left speechless. "Megumi…"

Nobara leaned forward. Megumi swallowed his fear and doubts. Unlilke her prior kisses, Megumi's was delicate, soft like a feather. His warm hand was caressing her own.

She wondered if it was his first. For an unfathomable reason Nobara felt a fire within her over the image of other girls kissing Fushiguro. She threw her arms around his neck. Nobara kissed him. Only she was allowed to kiss him.

Shocked but not dissuaded by her actions, Megumi wrapped his arms around Nobara's waist, picking her up slightly so she can be on his lap.

While a woman with an unshakeable character is his favourite trait, he'd be lying if he said he didn't like curvaceous women. Nobara fits both those criteria.

Her kisses tasted sweet. The lip balm she used that glossed her lips was strawberry. He could even taste the sweet pineapple flavour too as she opened her mouth.

Megumi flinched in pain when he adjusted himself a bit higher. The special grade curse monstrosity beat him really good. He did not recover fully yet. However, he unlocked his full potential with Domain Expansion.

"Shit!" Nobara broke the kiss. "I didn't hurt you or anything?"

Megumi shook his head. "No, I'm fine."

"You sure?" She raised an eyebrow. He had a tendency to be as stubborn as her.

"Yes, I love you."

"You-WHAT!?"

Megumi kissed her again. She sat there dumbfounded. Never, not even once, did she hear those words.

Nobara found herself falling hard for him. She really didn't want to ruin their friendship. It was really special. Her tough exterior was melting away.

"Megumi.." She moaned.

Common sense be damned. If he did plan on breaking her heart she'd curse him with a thousand needles.

Megumi held Nobara close to him. He was scared, scared of losing her. His wrist was locked behind her back.

They didn't know what the future hold. Their best friend was living on borrowed time until his execution. Megumi couldn't even imagine the idea of being a vessel of an evil entity like Sukuna. Neither of them were safe, each mission could be their last.

His teacher once told him that love was the most twisted curse of them all but he couldn't help it.

Her hazel nut eyes were on the verge of tears they pulled away from the kiss. It felt like a dagger was brought to his heart. 'Is this what Sensei meant? Did I inflict this pain on her?

But instead she smiled. "I love you too!"

Tsukimi was right. He still had a lot to learn about a woman's heart.

Their clothes were scattered across the room, flung in various directions. They were too preoccupied with each other to remotely care where. They clung onto one another as if their lives depended on it. Not even the world's strongest curse would separate them.

Megumi buried his face in her cleavage. Nobara tried to hold a moan. She hugged his head playfully tugging Megumi's black hair. If there's one thing she enjoyed doing is using every opportunity to tussle his hair.

Nobara grabbed his shoulders and pinned him on the bed. She wasn't going to let him have the upper hand. Kugisaki made that abundantly clear.

Megumi didn't mind. He enjoyed the view. His hands were on her silky smooth back.

A snarky smirk was on her face when she realized where his hands ended up. Seems like the anti social closed book was finally starting to open up.

"So Fushiguro I take it those rumours are true. You're an ass guy."

Despite having the higher ground, Nobara's teasing had no effect on Megumi.

"It's soft and nice." He said boldly.

"Are you calling me fat!?"

"No, I think you're beautiful."

Nobara felt her face heating up like a boiling kettle. She felt so vulnerable she couldn't help but lash out.

Stupid Megumi! She thought. Nobara leaned down and kissed him hard. I'm going to kiss the wise ass out of you!

He fully embraced Nobara Kugisaki with both her imperfections and perfections. He was unsure what the future had in store for them. However, he knew one thing for certain. She had his back and he had hers. For better or worse, they were partners and friends.

He wouldn't want it any other way.

Megumi was awoken by the bright sun grazing his face. He turned around so his back would be facing the warmth instead. To his disappointment, Nobara had already left. Not that Megumi blamed her. It was already late and she probably had to go back to her room to avoid any suspicion.

He sat upright. It felt so surreal, almost like a dream.

"Where are my clothes?"

"Good morning sleepy head!"

Nobara waltzed back in his room wearing his sleeping clothes. She had two steaming mugs of coffee in her hands. The brash girl shut the door using her hip.

"Morning."

She had morning hair but for Megumi she was still beautiful.

"Here's your coffee, black. You're so mature." Ever since Nobara found out, it was just another thing to tease him with.

"Thanks." He blushed.

Nobara sat next to the flustered Megumi. Usually, she preferred the iced coffee drinks that Tokyo provided but alas, it was too much of a hassle to get properly dressed this early.

Besides, there was also a matter they still had to discuss.

Megumi took a drink of his bitter coffee. Nobara took a swig of her own, wishing hers had some Irish for the liquor courage.

She chewed on her bottom lip. "Soooo…last night."

Megumi smiled at the mere thought of it again. "Yeah."

'Is this it? Is this where she tells me last night was a mistake? A heat of the moment kind of thing? I'm sorry, Nobara. I don't. I meant every word. I do love you.'

He braced himself for the inevitable rejection, knowing at least, in hindsight, that they'd always be friends.

Instead she opened a gateway of endless possibilities for them both.

"Are you free on Halloween?! They have this huge public gathering party every year in Shibuya. I don't want to miss it for the world! We can go together…."

Her face was beaming red. "…dressed as a couple!"

Megumi blinked. This was real! He couldn't be any happier.

"Aren't we a bit to old for dress up and Halloween?" He chuckled, making the ferocious girl by his side growl.

"Says who!? You're never too old for Halloween, Fushiguro!" Nobara punched his arm. "And it'll be like our first…date."

She couldn't believe she said it. Her feet were kicking in the air out of excitement.

"It's a date then." He whispered in her ear.

Nobara hugged his arm possessively. "No flirting with other girls, got it? You're mine."

As if any girl would have the chance. Under her, Yuji and Gojo's watch, they'd embarrass him for simply giving random woman directions.

The life of a Jujutsu sorcerer was uncertain. However, what the both of them knew is for now, these few seconds together, they were going to be okay.

Megumi rested on Nobara's head, enjoying the morning sun.

Author's Note= It's always risky when writing for new fandoms. I am always worried about characterization and events and screwing those up. But l love Megumi and Nobara so much. I just had to give them their happy ending cuz I know Gege is laughing all sinister like in the shadows lol.

Next up will be Yuta and Maki. Feedback would be greatly appreciated. Allthough you simply reading it made my day already.

Aidan.
