Note: This has been in my head ever since I first watched 911: Lone Star. I always imagined what it would be like if Olivia and Owen were best friends.
Introduction:
—1999–
Olivia Benson, Elliot Stabler, and Owen Strand were the best of friends. The two of New York's finest met Owen Strand and his crew during an arson/rapist case. Ever since that day, they became close. Whenever they get time, they will always get together for lunch or coffee during or off shift.
They were called; The Three Musketeers. That's what everyone at the 252 would call them. It was because of them that the relations between the Fire and Police Departments were in good spirits.
Owen was the one person that the two detectives would go to if they had a problem or if anything was bothering them. Rather it was a case or something personal, he was always there for them. He was there for Olivia when she told him about her being sexually assaulted while undercover in a prison.
They returned the favor by always being there for Owen and TK if anything was bothering them. They listened to him when he talked about his divorce and how hard it was on TK.
They were even there for him after 9/11, after losing his men, they all grieved together. For their fellow officers and firefighters. They were always there for each other.
Until they were not.

When Olivia first heard about Elliot turning his papers in, Owen was the first person she turned to for comfort and after telling him about Elliot and what happened, he was there for her, comforting her in the wake of Elliot's departure.
As for Owen, he was angry at Elliot for leaving without telling him, but instead he had to hear it from Olivia who was hurting more than he was because he knew that she had feelings for her partner and that she loved him.
For weeks after, they would still continue to go to lunch or have coffee and it would just be the two of them. They would talk about Elliot and Olivia would talk of how it's hard to work at SVU without Elliot. Owen Strand was the only other person left in her life that had always looked out for her.

After her ordeal with William Lewis and being held captive, Owen was there for her, comforting her as she told him about what she'd been through and what he did to her, also admitting that she thought she was gonna die and wished how she had Elliot to come save her. For a couple months, she stayed with the Strands to recover or at least until she can find herself a new apartment
Owen was there for her whenever she had a nightmare and called him up in the middle of the night. Just to talk.
After she had officially adopted Noah, she brought him over to the Strands house to meet Owen and TK and they loved him to death, because they knew how much Olivia wanted to be a mother especially after what happened with Calvin.
When she got promoted to Sergeant, Owen, Olivia and TK went out and celebrated. The Strands were the only people Olivia could count on to be there for her. She knows she has her squad, but she feels closer to Owen especially after Elliot left.

Olivia had heard about the devastation that happened in Austin, Texas to Engine 126 and to say, she was saddened. She had just been made Captain and she and Owen were celebrating when he told her about the offer of rebuilding the firehouse, Olivia was stunned at first, but she gave him her blessing saying that he should do it. She would miss him obviously but he is needed in Texas and after the close call with TK, it would be a good thing to start fresh.
So, a week later and after a tearful goodbye to the two people whom she loved, she let them go and promised each other that if they ever needed to talk or if anything ever bothered them, then to call and to schedule visits.
That was the start of the Strands life in Austin, Texas at the 126

Chapter: One
Austin, Texas- Station: 126
"Wait, so you coming down here to Austin?" Owen asked with a smile, sitting up straight in his office chair with excitement, holding his phone while on facetime with his best friend of 22 years; Olivia Benson.
Olivia chuckled through the phone, "That's right. There's a police conference that's happening down there next week and I've been chosen to represent the NYPD. The Chief thought it would be a good image for the Department. Besides, it'll give me a chance to meet that crew that you're so proud of."
Owen could tell that she was in her office because he recognizes a photo of Noah on the back shelf. He smiled and shook his head, "I would love to introduce you to them. They're amazing, Liv. When should I expect you?" He asked her, because he was gonna offer up the guest room at his house.
"Well, The conference is next weekend so probably Thursday is a best bet." She replied, Owen nodded his head, "Good, have they placed you in a hotel yet?" He asked. Hoping she would say no.
Olivia sighed, "Unfortunately, the Chief forgot to call for a reservation and the hotels are gonna be full for the conference. So…" She shrugged her shoulders.
The Fire Captain smiled, "Well, you're in luck, because I have a guest room all set up. Just let me know when to pick you up from the airport." He offered as Olivia let out a scoff but smiled. "Alright Strand." He saw her looking somewhere off the screen and nodded before turning back to the screen. "Listen, I gotta go. But, I'll let you know sometime next week." She told him.
Owen nodded. "Okay. Well, it was good talking and seeing you again, Liv. I missed you." He said as Olivia smiled. "You too Owen." She said before ending the call. He let out a satisfying sigh and smiled big before leaning back in his chair. His best friend in the whole world is coming down and he can't wait to see her.
Just then his mind went to TK and his eyes widened before getting up and bolting out the door, "TK!" he yelled running down the stairs. "TK! He yelled as he skidded into the kitchen and saw his son along with the rest of the 126 were all lounging around in the common area. "You will never believe who's coming down to visit?" he asked with a wide smile, acting like a kid on Christmas. TK was confused and looked to the others to see they were also confused as well before turning back to his dad.
"Who?" he asked, wanting to know who was coming to visit.
Owen took a big breath, "Liv." he answered. Immediately TK's eyes widened and a smile on his face, "No way, Really? Olivia's coming down here?" he asked, jumping up from his spot on the couch. Owen nodded, "That's right, apparently she's attending a Police Conference that's happening down here." he said as TK let out a whoop and clapped his hands before hugging his dad tight and then letting go.
"That's amazing. I can't wait to see her." He said as Owen chuckled, "I know me neither." he replied.
"Any of you guys wanna tell me who this Olivie person is?" Judd asked. Owen and TK looked to see the crew of 126 looking at the two, with confused looks, forgetting they were there. The Captain cleared his throat, "Right, Olivia Benson, she's an old friend of ours from New York. The 252 and the NYPD teamed up on an arson/rapist case. That's how I met Detective Olivia Benson and her partner Elliot Stabler back in 99'. She's now a Captain of the NYPD's Special Victims Unit." he said leaning against the counter with a small smile.
"Wait, Olivia Benson? Why does that name sound familiar?" Marjan asked, taking out her phone and typing something in before she smiled.
"No way. That's why the name was familiar. She's all over the New York Ledger and The Times. She's the most recognized Captain within the NYPD." She said, showing everybody her screen that had articles and images of Captain Benson.
Judd whistled, "Damn, now I wanna meet this woman." He said. Owen nodded with a smile. "And you will, she's supposed to let me know sometime next week when to pick her up, then I'll bring her over to the station. She heard about you guys and wants to meet you." he said as the crew smiled. Excited to meet someone else who is important in their Captain's life.
Judd nodded, "Well, me and Grace are holding a backyard barbecue next friday, maybe you could bring her over and meet all of us." He suggested as Owen nodded in agreement, "I think she'll like that. She did say to expect her sometime around next thursday." He replied as Judd smiled.
"Well, we would be happy to have her," he replied. Just then the bells went off with a call and they ran to their rigs and rolled out to save the city of Austin.
End of Chapter Note: Well this is it for this Chapter. I'm currently working on another story so I don't know when I will write the second chapter. Until then!
