Whats up everyone. I'm so sorry for the delay in this chapter. I've been very picky on how I wanted to go about this chapter. On top of that. I've been job hunting. Looking for a temporary job until my training for my Video game job begins. Which thankfully I found one and its a lot more fun than my old job.

It was mid-afternoon when the turtles, along with Casey Jones, and Evelyn with her brothers arrive at April's shop. The sign "Second Time Around," hanging in the front of the store. The Battle Shell parks in the empty alleyway beside the building. As Casey parks, his bike beside the Battle Shell, the turtles and Evelyn's brother piol out of the truck. Raph exited out of the driver's seat while Leo and the rest of his brothers exited from the back. Gregory jumped out of the trunk and landed on his feet with ease. Then Raimundo was next and he wanted to jump down but his sister Evelyn help him down.
Once his feet land on the ground, he runs towards the back door that leads to April's shop. Then finally Evelyn is left in the truck, as she prepares to step down a familiar three-fingered hand is extended to her. She looks and sees her dear friend Leo offering to help her down and with a smile, she accepts his help. She takes his hand, which he places on his shoulder. Realizing what he wants to do, she places both hands on his shoulder while he places his hands on her waist. Then with ease, he lifts her off the truck and then places her feet on the ground. Once everyone is out of the truck and Casey mounted his bike, the group travels to the back door. Mikey pushes a button that is a bell. A few minutes have passed and a familiar red-haired woman opens the door with a feather duster in her hands.
"Hi April, Green Brother's movers and schleppers reporting for duty," Mikey says energetically.
"Hey, guys thanks for coming," April says happy to see her friends. "I need all the help I can get." She says as opens the door wide, then one by one she gives everyone a task to do. "Mike, you can start by moving those big heavy boxes." He tells the orange-masked turtle.
"Just let me put in my hernia truss," Mikey says teasingly.
"Right over there wise guy," April responds with the same amount of sass.
"Plus, I've got a heater that won't heat!" April calls out. Then Donatello enters the shop with a bag and some pipes in his hand.
"Hence these," Donatello says as she shows her the pipes.
"Don't worry April, Donnie and I will have it up and running," Gregory said as he followed beside Donnie.
"Thanks, guys," April says gratefully. Then she spots Leo and Raph enter the doorway. "You two, that whole wall of antiques needs moving. Carefully." She warns as she points her feather duster at them.
"Hey, I'm a ninja, not a..." Raph was about to say something back but Leo cut him off.
"Your wish is our command," Leo says as he pushes his brother forward. Raimundo rushes inside excited to see the shop again. Like a child in a candy shop, his eyes gaze in wonder at all of the stuff around him.
"Well looks like someone is happy to be back here," April says as she smiles at Raimundo's eagerness.
"Oh yeah," Evelyn says with a chuckle. "So what do you need me to do?" She asks.
"Well if you could finish the dusting, I need to take out the trash," Evelyn says.
"I can take out the trash for you." Evelyn offers.
"Oh thanks so much, Eve," April says gratefully. Eve smiles before she grabs the bags and walks out the door. As Eve walks out the door Casey enters the door but stops when he sees April and they both lock eyes.
"You're not a turtle or little kids," April says as she looks up at the blue-eyed man.
"Uh defiantly not," Casey says as she looks down at the red-haired woman.
"I hope you don't mind, we brought along a friend," Leo says as he stands beside Casey.
"Yo uh, Casey Jones." He says introducing himself to her. And just before April couldn't introduce himself he walks into her shop and looked around the shop. "Hey, nice junk." He says impressed.
"It was my dad's. The shop I mean." April says as she follows Casey. "I reopened it a few weeks ago. For now, until I figure out what to do with myself." She explains. This time Evelyn returns from taking out the trash. "My last job ended kind of weirdly." She says as she hands Eve the duster.
"Oh, I get it, while you're waiting for a real job. You're just hiding out in your pop's junk shop. It's cool." Casey says as he playfully winks at her.
"It's an antique shop, and I'm not hiding anything," April said getting defensive.
"Hey, whatever babe," Casey says with an attitude before he walks away.
"Babe!" April gets fumed after being called with a lame pick-up nickname. Evelyn stops her dusting long enough to listen to the mellow drama starting to unfold. And honestly, she thinks that they would make an adorable pairing. They are complete opposites but they would be adorable together.
"Hey Raph, that's a two-man job," Casey says as he sees Raphel moving a large shelf of antique china plates. Casey then walks towards the other side of the shelf and at the same time, they start moving the shelf. But the shelf soon starts to shake and tilt as delicate China starts to teeter and totter. April notices and immediately expresses her concerns.
"Uh, guys careful. That's very rare..." she tries to warn them but then one by one several delicate China falls to the ground chattering into pieces. "Antique China," she says in defeat as she holds her head.
"Hey don't worry, we'll clean it up," Casey says as he and Raphael step away from the shelf.
But April doesn't accept the apology and growls in annoyance than with a "huff" she walks away.
"Greez, has your friend always been this sensitive?" Casey asks now getting annoyed by April's annoyance. This causes Evelyn and her brothers to laugh at the grown-up antics.
Raimundo continues to explore the new and old merchandise wondrously while everyone else is working. His innocent and curious young mind controls his body to explore all the different nick-nacks that decorate the bottom floor of this two-story building. While Evelyn is dusting she takes a few breaks between a dusting to watch her youngest brother explore the shop. She can't help but smile at his childlike wonder and innocents. After about fifteen minutes, Donnie and Gregory return from fixing the heater. They return to the top of the shop and offered their help. April tells them about their next assignment. April informs the turtle brothers about some new antiques. April received a shipment of a few late nineteenth-century furniture. The turtle brothers have to work together to help bring in and arrange the new table. The furniture comprises simple armchairs, a long couch, a few dressers, a vanity mirror, and three nightstands. As the turtles continue to carry the new furniture into the room. Evelyn helps April bring the cleaning supplies to polish the antique wood. Gregory helps Casey make some space for the antique furniture. While all of this is happening Raimondo continues to look around the shop. After Gregory and Casey finished making space, Gregory decided to take a break and look around. He spots a shelf with a few old books. Curious he grabs one and flips through it.
"This place has everything," Gregory says amazed as he looks at April. April stops her cleaning and looks at Gregory who is looking around with a book in his hand. She smiles at his wonderous behavior.
"Yeah it certainly does," April says with a chuckle. She looks at his older sister who is smiling at her other brother's behavior. But then both girls spot the youngest brother sneaking up behind his older brother with a pair of symbols in his hands.
"Ssshhh," Raimondo says quietly as he tip-toes closer to his unexpected older brother. Gregory is so immersed in his reading that he does not notice his little brother. Until Raimundo claps the symbols, the sudden loud noise startles his older brother. Gregory desperately clutches his now racing heart. Trying to calm himself down. But the shocked and scared expression causes everyone to laugh.
"Haha, I got you good Greg," Raimundo says between his laughing fit. Gregory's face begins to turn red from both embarrassment and anger.
"You're dead meat, pipsqueak" Gregory, yells before he chases after Raimundo. The room fills with Gregory's roars of annoyance and Raimundo's giggles of mischief. The Turtles and Casey return to the front of the store to see the 2 brothers chasing each other.
"What happened here?" Raphel asks.
"Rai scared Greg," April says in between her giggle fit.
"And now it's become a game of tag," Eve says with a chuckle. The others join in the laughter as they watch Gregory chase after Raimundo.
Raimundo manages to stay out of Gregory's reach, which impressed the turtles. You can tell that the boys have been trained well. Raimundo effortlessly ducks and evades every strike Gregory made. Raimundo seemed to be almost bouncing like a rabbit. While Gregory was looking more and more like an angry dog. All his efforts to catch his younger brother ended in vain. And Raimundo's little snarky remarks just added more fuel to the fire.
"Okay guys, enough with the Tom and Jerry antics," Eve says. However lost in the thrill of the chase, the boys dash past the dresser that held a rare Ming vase. Raimundo led Gregory around the vase delicate and priceless vase. Gregory almost snatched Raimundo, but he easily slipped through his older brother's grasp. Gregory getting fed up with this, pushes past the vase. Causing the vase to tilt side to side. Then its weight causes it to fall off the table.
"No! Not the Ming Vase!" April cries out in fear. Acting fast, Raph dives for the vase. Thankfully he manages to catch it before it hit the ground. However, his momentum causes him to roll into an antique stained glass lamp.
"On you're left, Leo!" Donnie calls. Leo springs into action and thankfully manages to catch the lamp before it could crash. However unaware of his surroundings. Leo's shell bumps into a shelf that displayed glass-figured animals.
"On you're right Donn!" Leo calls as three glass figures fall off the shelf. Effortlessly, Donnie manages to catch all three before they could shatter.
"Wow, nice catch guys," Casey says impressed. April sighs deeply, revealing that her new machines didn't get damaged. As Raph and his brother fix the nearly fallen murchinides. Eve puts down her cleaning supplies. Seeing that this chase has gone on long enough. She watches the path her brothers are running and stands ready. Then when Raimundo comes racing by her. In a swift motion, she catches Raimundo and holds him on her shoulder. While using her other arm to grab Gregory by the waist and carry him like a sack.
"Alright, you two, that's enough. This is not the place for this sort of roughhousing." Evelyn says as she holds her now squirming brothers.
"But sis it's not fair. Rai is not getting away with this." Gregory says with an annoyed growl.
"I know Greg but remember what dad always says, "Save it for the matt"," Eve says as she puts both of her brothers down. "Doctor Donatello says I'll be able to return to shifu mode. As long as it's not too straining on the body, we can continue our training next week." Even says as she rests a hand on her brother's shoulder. "So no beating up your brother until then okay," She says with a playful smile. Hoping to calm his hot blood.
"Okay...fine," Gregory says with an annoyed groan. Raimundo smirks triumphantly, knowing that his sister stepped in.
"And as for you, Rai" Eve says as she flips Raimundo over her shoulders. Her youngest brother is hanging upside down from his ankles. His back rested against his older sister's back. "Just because I stopped the fight doesn't mean you can taunt your brother." She says as she shakes Raimundo's legs. Then she jumps up and down while also twirling around. This results in Raimundo laughing and begging his sister to up him down. "So no taunting your brother." Eve scolds before she places Raimundo back on the ground.
"Okay Eve, I promise," Rai says with a smile.
"Alright, Now we've still got to help out April," Eve says as she places a hand on each of her brother's shoulders.
"Okay." Said both boys. they nod their heads before they run toward the others. As they run off to ask April for a new task. Leo approaches her while the others continue to work.
"That was impressive. You were able to defuse all that." Leo says.
"Well, I am their older sister. I know how my brother's minds work." She says with a chuckle.
"What did you mean by, "Save it for the matt" What is the matt?" He asks her.
"Oh that," Eve says as she grabs her cleaning supplies. "Well the matt, is referring to the sparing matt." She begins to explain. "My dad always believed that all fighting should be done in the sparing mat in the dojo. Kind of how boxers fight in the ring. That is where all tensions and anger should be released." She continues. "He believed that fighting should never take place outside of the dojo. Especially when it comes to family." She says as she looks from Leo and then to her brothers. "Family is too precious to lose over a senseless fight," she says as she smiles warmly. The sight of her brothers working together to help the others rearrange some of the new furniture.
"That makes sense." Leo agrees. The blue-masked turtle can't help but smile as he watches his brothers interact with her brother. It warmed his heart to see them all getting along. And he can honestly admit that he has also grown fond of the young boys. "I might have to try your idea with my brothers," Leo says as he thinks deeply.
"Hey, get your techniques," Eve says teasingly as she playfully sprays him with the spray.
"Stop, Eve," Leo says in a laughing fit as Eve continues to spray him. Eve and Leo played around for a little before they joined each other.
After a few hours, the group completes their task. The shop is fully stocked with new products and arranged in a way where customers can examine the antics. They declare their duties are done. Casey bids the Turtles and Eveyln's brother goodbye then heads out on his bike. While Mikey and Raph enter the Battel Shell with Eve's brothers. April calls Eve to her apartment home, above the shop.
"What's up April?" Eve asks as she follows the redhead up the stairs.
"I've got some stuff I want to give you," April says as she leads Eve to her room. Once inside, sitting beside April's bed, are two bags. April reaches down and grabs both bags. "I looked through some of my clothes and I've found some clothes that I believe will fit you." She says as she hands the bags over.
"Oh cool," Eve says excitedly to see what's inside.
"Leo told me that you needed some bed sheets. So I also added some bed sheets that I haven't used." April says as she points to one of the bags. "I also added some more feminine things that you will need," April says in a whisper.
"Oh okay," Eve whispers. "Thanks so much, April, I appreciate this." She says as she hugs the older woman.
"Aww, don't mention it, Eveyln," April says as she returns the hug. As the girls pull away, they hear someone come up the stairs. Then a familiar voice calls Eve's name. The girls recognize this voice as Donnie. They exit April's room and see the purple-masked turtle standing at the beginning of the steps.
"Oh, there you are Eve. We were looking for you." He says.
"Sorry Don, I'm coming," Eve says with a smile.
"What's with the bags?" He asks as he offers to carry one of the begs.
"Some old clothes that April doesn't need," Eve says as she hands him one of the bags. "And some bed sheets." She says happily.
"Nice," Donnie says. They bid their friend goodbye and then joined the others in the truck.
When they arrived back at their home, they continued their daily routines. The turtles continue their training with their teacher and father. Raimundo sits on the couch playing with one of Mikey's old game dud systems. Gregory sits in front of the many television watching some of their dad's Kung Fu movies. While everyone is doing their thing, Evelyn is in her room adding the new bed sheets. April even gave her some pillowcases for not just Eve's bed, but for her brothers as well. Eve places those aside for her brothers. Then she begins to dress her bed. The soft pink coral pink bed sheets looked great against her painted pink blossom tree. Now Eve adds the final touch to her bed. She pulls out her two panda plush toys. She places them against her pillows. Next on her agenda is putting away her new clothes. As she is finishing the first bag, the turtles have finished their training and have begun to do their usual routines. All except for Leo. once his training ended for today, he walks towards the side and passes Donnie's room to find Eve's room. He peeks inside and is surprised to see how the room is coming along.
"Wow, your room is starting to come along nicely." He says as he enters her room. Eve looks up from her last pile of clothes to see her friend enter her room.
"You think so too?" she asks as she stands up from her spot on her bed. "I'm not a big fan of pink, but I couldn't turn down April's kindness." She explains as Leo approaches her bed. "But I do like how these colors go well with my peach blossoms." She admits with a smile.
"You don't like the color pink?" Leo asks, kind of surprised. "I thought a lot of girls liked the color pink?" He says confused.
"Yes and no," Eve says. "While yes, some girls do. However; not all of them do and I'm one of them." She says. Eve notices that Leo is still confused. So she begins her explanation. "You see. I've always seen pink as a girly color. And to be honest I'm not a girly girl. I'm more of what they call a tomboy." She explains.
"Tomboy?" Leo asks unfamiliar with this term.
"It's what you call a girl who wears androgynous or unfeminine clothing and actively engages in physical sports or other activities and behaviors that are usually associated with guys." She explains. "For example, someone like me. I've never been afraid to get down and dirty. Which is due to my martial arts training." She says. "And as I look back now, I never got along with the other girls when I was in school. They were all into their Malibu Barbi dolls, while I was into fighting with my fists. This also explains why it was a lot easy for me to hang out with guys." She says as she laughs at her realization.
"And dressing up in unfeminine clothes?" Leo asks as he laughs along with her.
"To be honest, I've never liked the idea of dresses. I guess it's because I'm a fighter, and they seem kind of, restricting." She admits bashfully. "But mainly, I just feel more comfortable wear guys' clothes." She admits as she shrugs her shoulders. "But it looks like April is trying to break me out of that old habit," Eve says as she holds up a long white lace skirt. "I think April is trying to bring out my feminine side." She says as she holds the skirt at her waist. "I guess it wouldn't hurt to explore this side of myself," Eve says. Then she does a playful turn a soft giggle escapes her lips. Leo can't help but watch so intently as her face seems to light up at this idea.
'I should send April a thank you later.' Leo thinks to himself as she watches his secret crush acting adorable.
"I'll figure out a time to wear something like this, maybe around the layer would be a good start?" Eve says as she folds the skirt.
"No!" Leo says suddenly. This surprises Eve as she looks at Leo curiously. "I mean, you should save something like that for a special occasion." He suggests as he bashfully tries to cover his sudden outburst.
"Okay, that makes sense. Knowing the life we live, this will wind up getting dirty or torn up." Eve says naively agreeing with the young turtle's idea.
"Yeah defiantly." He says with a bashful chuckle. Eve couldn't help but laugh along with him as she puts the clothes in her hands in one of the dresses. "Do you need help putting your clothes away?" Leo offers as he notices another bag of what he guessed were clothes that April gave her.
"Nah, I can handle this myself. Besides I don't want to bother you." She says as she pushes the drawer close.
"No really, I don't mind at...all," He says with a smile as he opens up the bag and pulls out the fist fabric he feels. However what he pulls out not only startles him but completely embraces Eve. Held in his three-fingered hands is a single powder blue bra with white lace.
"No, really I can finish this by myself," Eve says as she snatches the bra from his hand and quickly stuff it back in the bag. Her face is about as red as Raph's mask.
"O-Okay..." Leo says as she bashfully looks away from her. An awkward silence fills the room, thankfully the presence of another turtle brother breaks their moment.
"Hey guys," Donnie says as he enters the room. However; he notices that his brother and friend are acting strange. "Am I interrupting something?" He asks.
"No!?!" They both said flustered. They look at each other with rosy cheeks and then timidly look away.
"Okay~?" Donnie says confused by their actions but pushes it aside. "Anyways, I just got a call from April." He says.
"What's wrong with April?" Leo asks.
"She needs us on guard duty," Donnie says. "There have been reports of robberies on her street. So she needs us to help guard her shop." He explains. "And she wants all of us." He says as he looks at Eve.
"Okay, knowing my brother they will want to tag along," Eve says as she puts her bag down and leaves her room.
"I'm also going to tell Casey. Raph thinks we could use the extra muscle." Donnie says.
"Good idea. Let's round up everyone and head out." Leo says as they both exit Eve's room.
The Turtles and Evelyn's brothers loaded up in the Battel Shell. Donnie driving and Mikey is in the passenger seat. Sitting in the back are Leo, Raph, and Eve with her brothers. They packed all the things they needed. According to April, she will need her friends to help all night. So Eve packed hers and her brother's sleeping bags and any other essentials. The gang arrives at April's shop later in the evening.
"I'm a little nervous about these robberies," April spoke with worry. "The jewelry store that was robbed is right on my block. So that's why I asked for a sleepover tonight." She explains.
"Waahoohoo!!! Sleepover! Party!" Raimundo cheers as he dances around April's living room.
"Well, you don't have to worry you're in good hands now," Eve says as she rests a hand on her back.
"Yeah, you've got the D and T protection Policy" Gregory says as he takes a fighting stance.
"D and T Protection Policy?" Leo asks him.
"Dragon and Turtle Protection Policy," Gregory says as he jumps in the air and performs a series of aerial kicks. This causes everyone to smile and giggle at his confident action.
"Yeah, like the kid said. We gotcha covered." Raph tells her reassuringly.
"Thanks, guys, I feel so much better having you guys here." She says with a smile.
"Happy to be here April," Eve says with a smile as Raimundo finishes his happy dance and then sits in his sister's lap.
"So Guys what should we do first?" Leo asks.
"I say we should have a movie marathon," Mikey suggests as he pulls out his collection of movies from his bag.
"Well, If we're going to do a movie-thon, then we are missing a few things," Gregory says.
"Popcorn and Candy!!!" Cried Eve and her brothers. They realized what they said in perfect sync and they laugh happily at their moment. Soon everyone laughed at their sibling antics.
"Alright, I'll start popping the popcorn," April says.
"I'll help you out," Raimondo says happily as he jumps off of Eve's lap and rushes into the kitchen.
"I'll set up the flicks," Mikey says excitedly.
"I'll make a trip to the drug store to go buy the candy." Eve offers.
"I'll come too." Leo and Raph said at the same time. This surprised everyone.
"Um...sure," Eve says as she giggles at another sibling moment. "Any requests?" She asks. When everyone tells her what they all want. The three of them walk out of the shop and head towards the store. As this happened, Donnie and Gregory set up the pillows, blankets, and sleeping bags. once the popcorn is ready and everyone has their candy. the movie marathon begins. Everyone sitting in their designated seats. Leo sitting in the recliner. Mikey is sitting in a beanbag that he brought from the layer. Eve and her brothers were leaning comfortably against the couch in their sleeping bags. Both brothers are snuggled up against their older sister. April is sitting on the couch beside the three children. Raph lies on his stomach with a big pillow under his arms. Lastly, Donnie is resting his back against a collection of pillows. After a few movies, April bids her friend goodnight and heads to her room. Then not long after Eve and her brothers fall asleep. Raimundo sleeping on her lap with his sleeping bag snuggled close to his face. Gregory snugged securely in his resting comfortably on his sister's chest. His young face used his sister's chest as pillow.
"Aww how cute." Donnie coos as he and his brothers look at the sleeping children.
"I never thought I would be jealous of a kid," Mikey whines when he sees how close Gregory is to his sister's chest. He's secretly wishing it could be him that is snuggling against Eve's chest.
"They sure are close," Leo says with a tender smile.
"Wish I could get that close to her," Mikey whines again as he holds his hands up opening and closing them.
"Stop being weird lame brain," Raph says as he smacks his brother on the back of his head. "You're stupid big mouth is going to wake 'em up." He says in a hushed voice.
"Am not!" Mikey argues.
"Shh!" Raph shushes him. Then Mikey counters with a shush of his own. Which soon turns into a battle of shushing. Thankfully Donnie steps in and stops the fight with a question.
"You know I wonder," Donnie says out loud.
"Wonder what, Donnie?" Leo asks.
"I wonder what their father must have been like." He says as he looks at his brother and then looks at the three children.
"Yeah, he must have been one tough guy to have trained Eve," Raph says. "For her to have kicked our buts that day we met her. He must be one heck of a fighter." He says as he rubs his arm. Remembering their first fight.
"According to Master Splinter, he was a good man, and a loving husband and father," Leo says as he looks at his brothers. The brothers freeze when they hear movement and a soft moan. They look and see Eve shift her position slightly and her face snuggles softly into Gregory's brown hair. This causes her brothers to snuggle closer to their sister's body.
"It must be hard. Losing someone like that." Mikey says as he and his brother look solemnly at the sleeping children.
"They haven't lost him. He's still out there somewhere." Raph says as he looks out one of April's windows. "And we're going to find him." He says as he pounds his fist into his hand.
"You bet we will." Leo declares as he and the others all make a vow to help Eve find her father. Hours have passed and soon everyone has fallen asleep. All seems peaceful in the quiet city street. Until a sudden noise catches the attention of Eve and Leo. Eve slowly lifts herself from her spot. Careful to not wake her brothers.
"Leo" Eve whispers.
"You heard it too?" Leo asks her. She nods her head. Leo quickly stands up and tries to wake up his brothers. The first one he reaches is Mikey. "Mikey wake up, Mikey," He says as he shakes his brother's arm. Eve shakes the other brothers awake.
"Can I have another Smore?" He asks in his sleep. However, Leo continues to shake his brother awake. This time with a lot more force. "What?" Mikey asks annoyed.
"Shh!" Leo shushes him. "Noise, downstairs." He tells him as his other brothers wake up. As the turtles, all head toward the back entrance. Just before Eve could follow them, she hears Gregory call her name. She looks and sees him waking up.
"What's going on?" He asks.
"They guys and I heard something and we're going to check it out." She says.
"I'll come too," Greg says.
"No, stay here. We don't want to leave the shop unprotected." She tells him. Then she follows the turtle leaving him to be there when April enters the living room.
"Hey, did you guys?" She asks. As she looks and finds only Gregory and Raimundo. "I guess you did." She says as she walks out of her room and stands with Gregory.
Eve's P.O.V
I followed the turtles out the window and jumped into the nearest alleyway. And I was shocked to find it. A tall multifaced robot with spare junk parts used as body parts. Besides his large foot. stood a man wearing a plaid tux jacket and bob-style hat. In his hands was a duffel bag. His expression reads horror when he sees the turtles.
"Oh boy..." I said as I stair in ah at this robot.
"Okay...What is that thing?" Leo asks as out loud as we all draw our weapons. "Uhh. Donnie...?" Leo asks his brother. Suddenly the head of the robot changes from calm to an angry expression.
"Uh... insufficient data boss," Donnie replies.
I continue to stare at this robot. There is something about the robot that seems off. I'm sensing something about this machine that seems different from your typical robot. It's almost like it has a soul.
"This can't be happening!" The man says in a panic as he rushes towards the other robot's leg. "Martians!" he cries as he covers.
"Martians," I said dumbfounded as I look at the cowardly man and then at my friends.
"Just when things were finally going my way, we get invaded." The man continues to cry in fear. "Don't let's take me, kid!" He begs.
"Wait...kid...?" I questioned myself. 'Is that why I got this strange feeling?' I think to myself.
The robot bents down and slammed its fists on the ground towards us. We all dodged by jumping backward and flipping in the air. Raph tried to attack it by stabbing it with his sai. But the robot seemed unaffected and tried to stomp him like a bug. Mikey jumped at it from behind and kicked it in the back. However, the robot quickly turned and smacked him away. Then the robot glanced down and began walking towards me. Mikey tries to kick him from behind, only to earn a punch against the wall and land next to Donnie who's searching for something.
"Shouldn't you be having an idea right about now?" Mikey asks his brainy brother.
"Hold that thought. Just keep him busy," He declares.
"I knew you were going to say that," Mikey tells him scowling.
I hold my sword in front of me as I watch this robot approach me. And as I watch it stomp toward me I can't help but sense the same feeling. 'If this robot is a kid then maybe he will act like a kid' I think to myself. If this robot is a child then maybe, I can get through to him. So if I treat this robot like Rai then all I have to do is not look like a threat. I lower my sword and just stand tall. It raised its fist over its head and began swinging toward me with the angry mask. I just stayed calm and centered, doing everything I can to keep my aura peaceful.
"Eve no!" I hear one of the turtles call my name. I hear the panic in their voices but I stay completely still and calm.
Just before its fists could collide with mine, it stopped an inch above my head. I watch as the robot pulls back its fists back slightly from my head. Then suddenly its face changed from angry to confused. Its masked eyes stare into what I could guess was a wonder. It's wondering why I'm not fighting. And now I can see it. This robot really is a kid.
"It's okay," I said softly as I reach out to it. "Everything is okay," I say as drop my sword and toss my sheath to the side. Then its confused face turns into sadness. And as its large robotic hand reaches out to me, I could feel its sadness. Just before my hand could touch his metal hand, I feel a pair of muscular arms wrap around me.
"Eve!" Mikey cried as he suddenly lifts me off my feet and carries me away from the robot. "Donnie now!" He yells when we are away from the robot. Then faster than lighting, Donnie jumps onto the robot's back and burned it with his mining flame thrower. The robot screamed in complete pain and my heart ached as its scream was the scream of a child. Then its masked face turned from sad to angry. Out of rage, it smacks Donnie against the wall. At that moment the turtles jump back into battle.
"Donnie!" I cry out as I rush toward his side. "You okay?" I ask as I kneel beside him.
"Yeah, I'm okay." He says as I hand him his staff. With his staff and the wall, he gets back on his feet. Which is a good thing because things were getting out of hand. The robot continues to fight the rest of the turtles and the Robot seems to be giving the guys a hard time.
"Don't let them aliens get'ya, kid!" The man cheered. "Knock'em flat!" He hollered.
"What do you know about this?" Leo demands as he points his sword at the man. And if this robot is a kid and if my intuition is correct then this poor kid must see this thief as a father then. And if that kid is like me then he will fight for his father.
"Guy's wait sec!" I call out.
"Help!" The man cries out in fear. "Kid!" He cries as he backs up against the wall.
"Daddy!" The robot yelled as his face changed again, from furious to sad. He then charges toward Leo and the man. It knocks Leo and Raph out of the way and then grabs the man.
"Leo, Raph!" I cry out as I watch them get knocked against the wall. Then the robot charges again this time knocking Mikey and Donnie as it tries to escape. However, it suddenly stops and grabs me in its large robotic hands. "GUYS!" I scream as I see Mikey trying to reach out to me.
"Eve!" Mikey called out. He tried to grab me but the robot smacked him away. Then it runs down the street taking me and the thief away. I can faintly hear a collection of voices call my name.
- Author's P.O.V -
The sound of loud crashing and people yelling surprises Gregory, Raimundo, and April. Gregory offers to look but April tells them to stay upstairs. April finally comes out of the shop and she arrives just in time to see Eve get carried away by a giant robot.
"What was that thing?" April asks as she finally lets go of the boys. Then suddenly a painful grunt is heard. Everyone looks and sees a badly bruised Casey. "Casey, oh no!" She says as she rushes towards his side to help him up.
"So..uh did I win?" He asks in pain. Raph helps April lift Casey back into the shop. Mikey follows Raph and April. Leo walks towards where Eve dropped her sword and shield. He grabs them and holds the handle tightly in his hand. Angry that he let his friend get taken. Leo can't help but worry about how the boys will react. Donnie notices his brother's worry. He rests a reassuring hand on his shoulder. Leo smiles at this and then they follow the other back into the shop.
"Hey, guys. this stuff is moving."Donnie says as he spots something on the ground and picks it up. Back inside the shop, Donnie examines the metal. While April tends to Casey's wounds the other turtles start to worry about their kidnapped friend. Two turtles in particular are more worried. While Leo nervously paces around. Raph is resting against a corner trying to prevent himself from breaking a few innocent china.
"Whoa, definitely something you don't see everything!" Donnie says.
"What did you find?" Mikey asks.
"Take a look," Donnie tells him as he steps back from the microscope.
"Eww, what are they?" Mikey asks disgustedly.
"Nanobots. Microscopic robots all working together," Donnie explains.
"Are they dangerous?" Raph asks with a hint of concern.
"They're moving randomly. Probably when they were cut off from the main group. they became mindless. Unmotivated." Donnie explains.
"Oh, so like when Raph goes solo," Mikey says as he points to his brother. "He becomes mindless and unmotivated." He teases as he points a finger in his face. This causes Raph to growl and push their hand out of his face.
"Eh..speaking of mindless, did that thing seem kinda...lost to you?" He asks the group.
"Yeah, like...like a little kid," Mikey said.
"Yeah, well that thing took Eve." Leo retorted, crossing his arms.
"What about Eve?" Raimundo asks as he and Gregory finally come downstairs.
"Where's our sister?" Gregory asks. Everyone looks at each other and the turtle brothers look between each other to see who will tell them. Then Leo steps forward and holds their sister's sword. Gregory takes the sword in his hands and both brothers look at the blue-masked turtles.
"Listen, guys." Leo begins to explain what happened.
"WHAT!?!?!" The brothers cry out.
"Eve was taken by a giant robot!" Gregory said.
"Yeah, it was this huge robot with all metal parts." Mikey begins to explain. "It had this huge metal claw and...Ow! What?!?" He continues to explain but is hit on the head by his red-masked brother. Mikey looks at his brother who looks towards Raimondo whose eyes are starting to tear up.
"Uh-oh, it's reproducing itself and if each copy makes a copy of itself and the copies make more copies...then this thing can become really unstable," Donnie explains as he looks back at the microscope. The sound of sniffles catches everyone's attention. Tears start to fall from Raimundo's eyes.
"I want my sister," Raimundo says in a weeping fit. Mikey quickly runs to the little boy's side.
"Oh no, little dude. Dont worry, we'll save Eve." He says trying to cheer up the little boy.
"You're darn right, we will get Eve back," Gregory says. "Because I'm coming too." He says as she traps his father's sword over his shoulder.
"What?!?" Everyone cries.
"I'm going to save my sister. And I can either go by myself or you guys can come along." Gregory demands as he stares fiercely into their eyes. The same fire and determination they saw in their sister's eyes. "Well are we going or what?" Gregory asks.what m
"Well, you heard the kid. We've got a friend to save." Raph says as he punches his fist.
"Then we're stopping it and getting Eve back." Leo encouraged. "Is there any way to track this thing?" He orders.
"Hmm...the nanobots have a unique power signature." Donnie thinks to himself. Then an idea pops into his head causing him to snap his fingers. "Hey, I bet the tracer in the Battle Shell could lock on it." He says confidently.
"And once we find Robo boy, then what?" Mikey asks.
"Well...as much as it pains me to destroy such amazing technology..." Donnie says solemnly as he pulls out a blowtorch and fires it at the nanobots. Making them disappear. "It does seem to be susceptible to extreme heat." He explains.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go save my sister!" Gregory cried. This causes the turtle brothers to get fired up for their mission. This causes Casey to try to sit up.
"Let me just grab my golf baaa-ow," Casey says but cries in pain. This causes him to sit back down.
"You aren't going anywhere, mister," April says as she pushes him gently back onto the couch. "You wait right here till I get more bandages." She tells him sternly and walks away.
"I'll help you April." Raimundo offers. As April and Rai walk away, Raph steps forward and kneels beside his injured friend.
"Hey, you wouldn't be milkin' this boo thing. Would ya, Case?" He asks with a smug.
"Hey, show a little concern, shell-for-brains." Casey retorts as Raph playfully elbows his friend.
"You owe us one, pal," Raph tells him as he walks away with the others.
"Definitely, Ow" Casey cries out. As April and Raimundo return with bandages. Raimundo watches the others leave through the back door. He ran towards the front of the store window. His eyes spot the Battel Shell drive into the night.
"Good luck guys." He says softly as the truck disappears into the night.
- Eve's P.O.V -
"For the millionth time, they are NOT, martinis!" I repeated to the crock. The robot boy carried us to an empty junkyard. The man sits high on a piol of garbage, like so kind of king. All the while this robot boy holds me close in his hands.
"Those green men are Martians!" The crock yelled from atop his thrown. "And you are their brainwashed slave." He yells as he points to me.
"Listen you two-bit crock." I stayed getting fed up with this guy. "For the last and final time. My friends are not Martians! And I'm not their mind-controlled slave!" I yelled as I flail my arms in the air. "You won't be getting away with your little amateur highest," I yelled as I throw a fist at him. Suddenly my body is pulled toward the face of the robot. It tenderly nuzzles its face against its happy face mask.
"Mommy!" It called in its robotic voice.
"Say what?!?" I said shocked as I look at its porcelain face.
"Mommy?" The man asks as he looks at us. "You're the kid's mom or something?" he says as he looks at me.
"Do I look like I'm old enough to be a mother?" I ask him in an annoyed tone.
"Well, now that I think about it. You're a little too young. " He says as he looks me up and down. His eyes scanned me in a way that made my skin crawl.
"Watch it, Grandpa! It's not my age you should be worried about." I growl.
"Who are you calling Grandpa, sweetheart?" He barked back. "You better watch yourself, or I'll bend you over my knees." He warns.
"Call me Sweetheart one more time and I'll put you on your knees!" I threatened.
"Mommy," The Robot says as they hold me close. Like I'm its teddy bear. I nervously laugh as it continues to hold me close. And as much as I want to get away from this creepy man. I can't help but feel drawn to this robot child. Its personality was reminding me so much of Raimundo. And I guess this is my maternal instincts kicking in.
Suddenly we hear a large crash echo throughout the junkyard. This surprises all of us. "Ya hear that?" the crook asks. "Ya know I'll bet it's those greek freaks." He says as he looks up at the robot. "And I bet they're here to take your uh...mommy away." He says as he points to me.
"Mommy?" The robot says as his face turns from happy to sad.
'Why that slimy little...' I thought to myself but stopped when the Robot suddenly lifts me up and then places me on top of a pile of garbage. As if I'm some kind of object being put on a shelf. It stops for a moment as if making sure I'm okay. Then it leaves to investigate the noise. Once he's out of sight, I take this chance to escape. I know that the loud crash has to have come from the guys. They are here to rescue me. I finally reached the bottom of the pile and start running towards the loud crash. If I know those guys. That loud crash was them.
- Author's P.O.V -
The turtles and Gregory arrive at the junkyard where the nanobot signal was coming from. They drive through the many piles of garbage. Trying to locate the robot and criminal that took Eve.
"We're right on top of him," Donnie reports as he drives the truck in the direction that his device was showing.
"And my sister?" Gregory asks as he leans over the driver's seat.
"They should be right around here," Donnie says. They park the truck and everyone gets off. They follow the purple-masked turtle as his device leads them closer and closer to their destination. As they follow Donnatelo they come across piles of stolen goods.
"Look at all of this stolen stuff," Leo says out loud.
"Where are they?" Gregory asks Don.
"Donnie, anything on your tracker?" Raph asks.
"The locator says they should be right here," Donnie says confused.
"I know it's been used before, guys, but..." Mikey says as he and the others stand back to back, weapons drawn. "I'm getting a baaaad feeling about this." He mutters. Suddenly Nano jumps out from a pile of garbage and roars at the intruders. "Now I'm getting an even badder feeling about this." He says as he gazes up at the large robot.
Gregory and the Turtles take their battle stances. Nano uses the garbage around him to upgrade himself. Making him bigger and stronger.
"Gregory, go look for Eve. " Leo orders as he looks at the little boy. "We'll take care of Nano." He says. Gregory nods his head and then heads off into the yard. Nano's face changes to anger as he charges at the turtles. Its large fists slam at them. Trying to crush them under his large robotic hands.
"Uh, guys, anyone wanna tell me how we're going do this?" Mikey asks his older brother as Gregory runs off.
"Like we always do, together," Leo says. "Hit it so fast it can't rebuild itself." He orders his brothers. "Now!" He calls signaling for his brother to begin their attacks. Each one takes turns attacking the robot. While the turtles distract Nano, Gregory begins his search for his sister.
"Eve!" Gregory calls as he runs through all the piles of trash. Not far from the battle, Eve hears her brother's voice and follows it.
"Gregory!" She calls back as she runs in the direction of her brother's voice. Eve hears her brother call her name again and rushes in that direction. After running past a few large piles of trash, the sibling's eyes meet. "Gregory!" She says with a relieved smile as she rushes toward his side.
"Eve!" Gregory calls as he runs to his older sister relieved to see her safe. However, their moment of joy is cut short when the robber energies from the shadows and grabs Eve harshly by her arms. Twisting them behind her back.
"Where do you think you're going, sweetheart." The man says with a sharp yank on her arms.
"Let me Go!" Eve yells and she tries to break free.
"I don't think so you little..." The robber says but is cut off when Gregory jumps and roundhouse kicks the robber in his face. This resulted in him releasing Eve.
"Hands off my sister." Gregory, growls as he stares at the fallen man.
"Nice move," Eve says impressed. Gregory immediately hugs his sister's waist which she happily returns. "Now let's go join the guys." She says as they lock hands and run towards the battle that is still raging in the junkyard.
The siblings run past mountains of junk piles. Looking around frantically trying to find their friend. While also keeping an eye out for the nanobot that took Eve. The brother and sister round the corner of a large pile but jumped back when a large light flashed in their eyes. The Battle Shell comes to a harsh stop when the turtles realize who they found.
"Eve!" Yelled a collection of voices.
"Quick get in!" Yelled Raph as he open the back door. The sibling runs to the back. Each grabs the hand of the turtle and gets pulled in. Mikey quickly does a U-turn and punches the gas. However, the joy of getting their friend back urges Mikey to park the truck. Once the truck is parked, Mikey practically leaps out of the driver's seat and glomped Eve.
"We thought you were gone forever, our dear princess!" Mikey cries as he holds her close.
"Okay...um...Mikey" Eve says as she feels a little uncomfortable being held so tightly.
"Alright Lover boy," Raph says getting annoyed by his younger brother's behavior. "Let go!" He growls as he pulls Mikey off but Mikey wines like a puppy. Mikey then returns to the driver's seat and started the truck up again.
"What happened to you, Eve?" Leo asks as he stands beside her. "You're not hurt are you?" He asks as he gently holds her shoulders.
"She don' look hurt to me," Raph says with a smile as he playfully punches her shoulder.
"No, they didn't hurt me. At least not the robot." Eve says. "In fact the robot..." She says but suddenly a loud crash surprises everyone and all of them are thrown to the front of the truck. Mikey brings the truck to a harsh stop. The sound of large thumping of large feet is heard around the truck.
"Mommy!?!" A robotic voice calls out. Suddenly the sides of the truck begin to crunch inwards. "Mommy!?!" the voice calls out again.
"The robot, thinks I'm its mommy," Eve says embarrassed.
"Mommy?" Everyone cries with shocked faces. But their moment of confusion comes to an end as Nano continues to thrash at the armored truck.
"Faster, Mikey. It's taking us apart!" Donnie cries as parts of Nano's robots start to break apart some of the armored trucks.
"I'm giv'n her all she's got captain," Mikey says, doing his stat trak impression. "She cannot take them all," He says as he rolls his "l's"
"Raph you're up. Shell Cycle time." Leo orders. Raph grabs his helmet and puts it on.
"Sure, I always have to do all the crazy stuff," Raph says as he hops onto his bike. Just as he reves up the bike, Eve walks towards him.
"Wait Raph," Eve says as she places her hand on his shoulder. "Take me with you." She says as she hops on his bike.
"No, Sis, you can't," Gregory says with a worried voice as he grabs his sister's arm.
"He's right, Eve," Leo says as he steps forward. "It's too dangerous." He says.
"Nano is after me," Eve says as she looks from her brother to Leo. "I can help you guys buy more time." She explains.
"Okay..." Leo says hesitantly.
"Alright, hang tight sweetheart," Raph says as he reves his bike again. "This is going to be a bumpy ride." He says.
"Keep him busy until we're in position." Leo orders. Raph nods his head as Eve wraps her arms around his waist and holds him tightly. The moment the back door opens, Raph burst out like a bullet. He back wheeled off the robot's leg and then begins to circle around Nano. The robot spotted Eve at the back of the cycle.
"Mommy!" The robot called as it slammed its hands in front of the bike, trying to stop Raph. Thinking fast, Raph changes direction and evades the hands. With Eve still on the bike, this causes Nano to chase after Raph. Raph leads the robot towards a large crater, where they crush cars and then melt them down for spare parts. Nano's temper has risen to its breaking point. Blinded by its anger, it slammed the back of the bike. This caused the back wheel of the bike to fly up. Resulting in Eve being thrown off the bike and into the air. She fell off the Shell Cycle and crashes to the ground. The momentum causes her to scrape across the ground. No doubt scraping her face across the dirt.
"Eve!" Raph cries out as he sees her hit the ground. He brings his bike to an imidate stop.
"Eve!" Called the other as they see Eve's terrible fall from the truck.
"Mommy." Nano cries as he notices Eve on the ground. Its angry face turned to sadness. Nano takes this opportunity to pick up its fallen motherly figure. However, as soon as the robot bends down to pick up the fallen girl. The others in the Truck take this as an opportunity to push Nano into the computer.
"Now, Mikey, Ramming Speed!" Leo orders as Mikey steps on the gas pedal. Speeding right into Nano.
"No! Look out, kid!" The robber warns. However it's too late, the truck slams hard into the giant robot. Due to Nano being off-balanced, the sudden nudge pushes the large robot forward. The robot screams before it falls into the compactor. The painful robotic scream wakes Eve from her unconscious state. She slowly gets up.
"Eve!" Raph ditched his bike and rushes to her side. "You alright?" He asks as he helps her stand up. She stumbles a bit but thanks to Raphs help, she's back on her feet.
"A little dizzy, but I'm okay." She says with a smile as she looks at the red-masked turtle.
"Dat was a nasty fall, ya took," Raph says as he looks at her face.
"Yeah but I'm okay," Eve says but then she feels something wet run down the side of her face.
"You're bleeding," Raph says worried when he spots the blood. Gently he moves her hair out of the way and notices a thin cut just along her forehead. "Looks like it's not a serious wound. But, we'll have Donnie patch you up." He says tenderly as he lets her hair fall back into place.
"Sounds good," Eve says as she smiles at the hot-headed turtle. The truck comes to a stop by Raph and Eve. The back doors are opened and everyone but Mikey.
"Everyone okay?" Mikey asks as he sticks his head out the window.
"Yeah, we're good," Eve says.
"Well except for the robot," Raph says. "Yikes." He says as he looks down at the crushed robot. "Looks like that did it." He said.
"Yeah, he looks flat broke," Mikey says trying to be funny. Suddenly the Tv monitor turns back on. And the ground begins to shake. "You know, I'm gonna stop with the puns," He says as the sound of metal moving and bending can be heard. "Seriously, they always come back to bite you," Mikey cries in terror as Nano returns back to his large self.
Mikey starts up the truck again, while Raph grabs Eve and they mount his bike. Raph speeds after the Truck when Nano starts stomping at the truck. When it spots Eve again, it chases after her.
"Guys, what are we going to do? This thing won't stop." Gregory asks worriedly. An idea pops into Leo's mind and it seems that Donnie has the same thought.
"I got an Idea," Leo says. "How fast can you get into position?" He asks his brother.
"Consider me there," Donnie says as he jumps out of the truck from the back. He leaps behind a trash pile. He travels towards his destination.
"Mommy!" Nano roars now angry and in another temper tantrum. The ground shakes every time its large feet stomp on the ground.
"Raph!" Eve cries worriedly as she clings to Raph's body.
"Leo, tell me you got a plan C, We really hoping you got a plan C!" Raph says through the radio on his helmet.
"Plan C at Twelve o'clock!" Leo answered.
Looking in the direction his brother said, Raph sees a forklift with a magnet. Mikey leads Raph towards the lift. Understanding what his brothers want, he drives the bike right under the magnet. Nano speed grew faster. Eve screamed when she felt the wind shift as its large hands just barely missed her.
"Uh, fellas? Plan C...now?" Raph asks nervously when hears Eve's scream.
Donnie arrived at the forklift and gained control over the machine. He pulls the two levers and the magnet activates. Stopping Nano from grabbing Eve and Raph. Then Nano is lifted off the ground and snaps to the magnet.
"No kid! Are you alright?" The robber exclaims as he runs towards Nano. Nano screams out of anger and fear. This cry shocked Eve and she can't help but worry for the bot. As she watched the robot struggle to free itself from the magnet. Eve can't help but feel a need to help the poor bot. However; she knows that it needed to be stopped or it could cause more damage.
"Hang on kid, Daddy's coming!" Yelled the man as he runs towards the forklift. He finds the main power box. He pries it open and pulls the lever.
"What?!" Donnie asks as the magnet suddenly shuts off. However, this resulted in Nano falling into the open incinerator. The robot cries in pain as its metal body begins to melt under the intense heat of the incinerator. It's pain full pricked Eve's heart, she clutches her chest. The sight of its cracked happy masks breaks the young girl's heart.
"No! No!" The robber shouts as the fire starts up.
"Daddy...Mommy..." Nano calls out, reaching out with its robot hand. Before the incinerator closes. Eve feels tears forming in her eyes as her heart shatters. In this last moment, we see that this robot Nano truly is a child. It was a child just like her and her brothers, just wanting their parents.
"I can't believe you're gone...my one real lucky break," The robber says as he kneels down and picks up the cracked mask. "And I broke ya. I...I...I'm sorry," He says as he starts to cry. The sound of police cars is on its way. Everyone piles in the Battel Shell and returns to April's shop.
"You know I feel kind of bad for the little bot," Mikey says.
"Little?" Raph asks sarcastically, Mikey shrugs.
"You know, he was like a little kid," Mikey explained.
"Too bad he had such a rotten parent." Donnie comments. then suddenly he remembered that Nano referred to Eve as his mother. "But, I don't mean you, Eve. I mean you were never his parent, to begin with." He babbles as he tries to apologize to his friend. However; their friend is quiet. Everyone looks and sees the young girl lost in her own thoughts. While her face looks lost in thoughts, the aura around her feels sad and lonely. Gregory immediately notices the change in his sister's mood. The turtle brothers can tell that their friend is behaving differently but their senses are not as strong as Gregory's.
"Sis?" Gregory says softly as he sits next to his sister. "You okay?" He asks as he gently holds her hand. This causes her to focus on her surroundings.
"Huh, what did you say?" She asks as she looks at her brother and then at her friends.
"You okay, Eve?" Leo asks as he sits next to his friend.
"Yeah, I was just thinking about that robot," Eve says as she looks down feeling sympathy for the bot. "It really was a child. And to end up like that. It's just so sad." She says she gives her little brother's hand a small squeeze. Her sympathetic words make everyone go quiet as they take a moment to pay their respects to the lost child. The whole trip back to April's shop is quiet. Gregory snuggles into his sister's side. He's grateful that he has his sister and little brother with him. And now that he has Splinter and the turtles as well.
"Well, I'm just glad that the fighting is over," Leo says as they all climb out of the truck.
"And we got my sister back," Gregory says as he cheers happily. this causes everyone to laugh at his childish joy. Just before the group could open the door, it flings wide open and Raimundo jumps into his sister's arms.
"Eve, your back!" He cries.
"Told you, we'd get her back," Mikey says as he winks at Raimundo.
"I knew you guys could." He says with a smile. "But we still have a problem," Raimundo says. This surprises everyone.
"What do you mean, Rai?" Donnie asks. Raimundo grabs Donnie's hand and leads him and the other back into the shop. They enter the shop and hear April and Cassey arguing.
"Take care of me?!?! I only got hurt 'cause I was saving you!" Cassey yelled at April.
"Oh, so you think I need saving, is that it?!?!" April counters.
"You twist around everything I say! Ha! Woman!" Casey continues his rampage.
"Why, of all the myopic, misogynistic-" April rants.
"Sheesh, how can we even talk if you don't speak English?!?!" Casey asks as he accidentally knocks over a vase.
"I told you to watch the antiques, yah big ape!" April yells.
"See trouble," Raimundo says as they continue to argue back and forth completely ignoring their friends. The atmosphere begins to grow intense.
"I think they wanna be alone..." Mikey says as he and the others slowly and quietly back away. Everyone starts to pile into the truck.
"Aren't you guys going to help Cassey?" Raimundo asks as he is led into the back of the truck. Then Donnie drives the Battel Shell back home.
"I'm afraid this is one fight that even we can't win, little dude." Mikey answers. This causes everyone to laugh. Raimundo looks around confused.
"I don't get it?" Raimundo says confused.
"I'll tell you when you're older Rai," Eve says as she pets her brother's head.
-Later that night-
When everyone returned home, everyone went to their rooms to sleep. However; Eve couldn't sleep. She tired to sleep but her mind and heart were keeping her awake. The events of Nano has shocked her to the core. The poor robot just wanted a family. In a way Eve and her brothers are just like him. They both want a family, a father. And thats what is resonating with her. Watching Nano's final moments awoken emotions she kept buried deep inside. He was a child that didn't want to be left behind by their father. And thats what if felt like with Eve, when their father left that day. All those emotions she kept hidden deep inside came rushing back to her. Tears stream down the side of her cheeks come rushing down. She starts to cry into her pillows and sheets. She sits up and wipes her tears away. Thinking maybe if she makes a cup of tea it will help her fall back to sleep. Eve quietly slips out of her room and walks towards the kitchen. While preparing the tea her emotions return again like a raging sea. Her tears continue to flow uncontrollably. Lost in her thoughts she didn't notice someone enter the kitchen.
"Evelyn, why are you up at this hour?" Splinter asks as he sees the young girl making tea. Realizing who entered the room, she quickly wipes her face.
"Oh; Splinter, I was having a hard time sleeping." She says as she finishes making the pot. "I thought making some tea would help." She explains as she grabs a cup. Splinter observed the girl. He can sense that something is off about the young girl. Her eyes tell a different story.
"Hmm..." he says as he looks at her. Splinter grabs a cup for himself. "Bring the pot and follow me." He says as he leads her to his room. Once inside he takes the pot and puts it in the center of the table. "Please sit child." He tells her to sit at the table. Eve sits down at the table and watches as Splinter takes her cup and pours some tea for her. Then he pours some for himself.
"Now tell me what troubles you my child." Splinter says as he takes a sip of his tea.
"What...I...there's nothing wrong, Splinter." Eve retorts.
"You mouth says one thing but your eyes tell another story." Splinter says. He then gently places a furry hand on hers and gently holds it. "While have grown into a strong young woman on the outside. Your eyes are still the eyes of a child. Lost. Scared. A child lounging for something. Or perhaps someone?" He says as she raises a furry brow.
"I...well..." Eve says baffled that her old friend could read her so easily. Realizing that she can't keep back her emotions any longer. She finally tells Splinter what happened earlier today. Their encounter with Nano.
"So this Nano that you speak of was a child robot?" Splinter says trying to understand the story he was told.
"Yes, and not just any child. He was just like Raimundo. Innocent, curious and most of all wanted love. And not just any love. The love of a father." Eve says as she looks down at her cup. "I couldn't help but be reminded of my father. And how Raimundo and Gregory are growing up without a father." She admits.
"Its not just your brothers that are growing up without a father. You as well my dear." Splinter says. "You have spent along time keeping your emotions under control." He says as she sits beside her. "You have tried to be brave for your brothers sake. But you don't have to be tough all the time." He says. "Its okay to let your guard down. Because you are still only a child. And it's okay it's long for your father." He says as he gently holds her cheek. The moment those words left his lips. Tears rush down her eyes and she can't hold them back anymore. She clings to Splinter's chest. Crying her eyes out, like a child.
"I miss him Splinter, I miss him so much." She says between her hiccup voice.
"I know child. I know." Splinter says soothingly as he gently rubs her back.
"But you don't have to face this pain alone my dear. You can share this pain with the ones you love." He says as he lifts her face up. Then he turns to the door. As Eve turns to look at the door, it opens and there stands her little brother's with Leo and the rest of the turtles.
"Guys!?!" Eve says surprised to see her brothers still awake. "I...just..." she says as she quickly wipes away her tears. Suddenly both boys run into her arms and they hold her close.
"Eve, you don't have to be strong for us." Raimundo says as he looks at his older sister.
"Yeah we know you miss dad as much as we do." Gregory said. "And we know you act brave just so we don't have to worry." He says as he wraps his arms around his sister's neck. Hugging her from behind.
"In fact we know you miss him twice as much." Raimundo says.
"So you don't have to be brave for us sis." Gregory says. "We miss him too." He admits.
"We know how hard it is for us to not have him around." Raimundo says.
"Yeah, we know he's gone but we will find him." Gregory says encouragingly.
"And you won't be alone in finding him." Raphael says as he and his brothers enter their fathers room.
"Raph is right. We will help you find your father." Leo says as the turtles gather around Eve.
"That's for sure." Donnie says with a smile.
"You can count on it." Mikey says with a winks.
"Thanks guys." Eve says as she wipes her final tears away.
"Until then, I can be your daddy." Mikey says with a flirtatious smirk. He flips his imaginary hair. Than clicks his tongue and points at her. Evelyn laughs nervously at Mikey's attempt at flirting. However the turtle brothers groan at their brothers pathetic attempt. Not amused by his son's behavior towards Evelyn, Splinter takes his stick and smacks him on his head.
"Ow, What?!?" Mikey asks as he looks at his father and master.
"Its been a long night and we all should go to bed." Splinter tells the children. They all nod and head towards the room. However both Gregory and Raimundo head towards their sister's room.
"Whats wrong guys?" She asks them.
"Can we..." Gregory says.
"Sleep with you tonight." Raimundo finishes.
"Just for tonight." Gregory added.
"Sure." She says as she slides over to left her brothers slip in. The brothers snuggle up under her bed sheets. Eve tucks them both in her blankets. As they get comfy, Eve begins to sing her fathers lullaby.

As Eve continues to sing to her brothers. She is unaware of Leo resting beside her room frame hearing her voice. He stays until he the singing stops and when Eve has join her brothers in sleep. He quietly walks in and sees the three siblings sleeping soundly beside each other. This makes his resolve to find their father grown stronger. He gently pets the boys hair wishing them pleasant dreams. Then his attention turns to the older sister. He gazes at her peaceful state he can't help but admire her inner strength. He tenderly strokes his knuckles against her warm and soft cheek. He wishes her pleasant dreams before he leaves the siblings to their slumber and returns to his room. And falls asleep just like the others.
