Mike's POV
I am the leader of erudite . I am the one who developed the fear landscape serums and serums for aptitude test. However , when I checked on Jason walker's fear landscape record , it was deleted and tells me that is a program errors
I am suspecting something. When mark was the initiate of dauntless , his recorded was also alternated. I have a spy in dauntless who is Johnson , he told me that Delia is paying very close attention on Jason walker
"Delia is not only the ambassador right?" I ask my secretary jeanine
"Yeah , only on the duty, she is an ambassador but usually she is an instructor for transfer initiate." Jeanine nods at me .
"As Johnson said that Delia was paying close attention on Jason walker ." I narrow my eyes
I am tapping my fingers on the screen. I am looking at the record for Jason walker . If I can ever figure out what was the result for Lucas walker , then maybe I can figure out whether Jason walker is divergent or not.
Divergent can be inherited as what my instructor told me before he passed away.
"Johnson told me that Alexander wanted Delia to be the leader because her grandma just dead but she yielded her leadership to Jason walker ." Jeanine sighs . "Is she has a crush on Jason?"
"No it can't be . I and Delia are very good friends in school but she must forget about it."I feel a sense of jealousy? Why I am feeling that? "She has a clear line between instructor and initiates . Even she has feeling for him, she will kill that at the beginning."
"She was also talking to him that it was her intention to protect her . Against what, Johnson didn't know what that is ." Jeannine says
Of course I know what is it. He must show Delia that he is divergent. How stupid he is . How trustworthy Delia can be . If she is under truth serum, she can't hold that long.
"I want truth serum today . I will go see Bobby." I smirk. "She will not tolerate truth serum for long. I promise that."
"Yes sir , I will talk to Bobby."
Jeanine leaves the room. Jason walker , I want him to die . Not only because he is divergent but also because he has Delia's attention. In school , she never pay attention to me but Jason has all his attention
I pick up the freaking iPad and throw it at the ground . It break in to pieces . I am breathing very heavily. God damn , what have I done ? Never mind , we have more than dozens of them
My pov
I sit in my office . Today I will not attend training because Mike is coming to see me . These days , I always feel someone is looking after me and Jason . Maybe is mark or someone else . I never suspect that someone are spying on us .
I trust everyone in dauntless and also my initiates . I believed that they are all loyal to dauntless . I am sleepy because I wake so early this morning.
Why Mike wants to see me me , did he find out about Jason's divergence or Jennifer's divergence ?
Someone knocks on the door . I stand up and walk to the door . I open it and Mike and Jeanine come in
"Hello good morning Delia ." Mike smiles at me
I walk into the office and sit down . The light comes up and Mike sits opposite of me .
"Do you remembered that we were in the same faction history classes before for two years ?" Mike smiles at me
"I don't have a good memory. I only belong in dauntless ." I lift my chin. "So what are you going to tell me ."
"I have look at the record of fear landscape and the aptitude test. There are two problems with your initiates record . One for Jason walker and one for Jeanine lollipop ."Jason taps the screen and shows it to me
Yes I delete there record and said that was a system's error .
"I already wrote that was a system error ." I say firmly.
"Oh is that so? I am very confident with my invention." Mike laughs . "If you want to prove that, are you willing to do a test under truth serum?"
"Yes I can do that." I say very confidentially.
Mike seems surprised . I clinch my teeth.
"Then I will come back soon enough." Mike stands up. "I am looking forward to that."
"Me too." I shrug
Mike and Jeanine leave . I sit down abruptly. Can I fight truth serum even I know that I am genetic pure ? I want to go see Alexander for it.
I run out of the office . Then I run into Alexander . Alexander hold me in place .
"Are you fine?" Alexander seems worrier
"I am fine ." I shake my head . "Not really, I have to talk to you. Not here ."
"Okay , I will go to your office now ."'Alexander says
I walk him to my office . I open the door to my office .
"It is kind of emergency ." I say. "Mike told me that he found the problem with the test for Jason and jeannider and he wants me to go under the truth serum . I am begging you to stay with me while he is here . If I say something wrong, then shoot me ."
I am about to cry.
Mike's pov
Delia surprisingly agrees to do the test. I take the car to Candor headquarter . Bobby isn't very friendly with erudite but I can make him do that. He has a daughter in erudite , so she can be my hostage .
"If Bobby doesn't want to work with us , what should we do ?" Jeanine frowns
"Don't worry, he has a daughter in erudite . She will be my hostage if he refused ." I smirk
"Fine , that's the good way." Jeanine shivers . How evil he is that she hasn't realized yet.
We finally get to Candor headquarter . The soldier opens the door for me .
"Hello sir . What are you doing here?" The soldier asks
"I have made an appointment with Bobby." Jeanine checks her watch. "Now."
Bobby comes out and sees me . He welcomed me
"Welcome mike , come in with me please ." Bobby leads me into the hallway
"I am here just for a thing." I say coldly. "I want the truth serum. For personal use only."
"Why should I give to you. Who are you going to insert with." Bobby is nervous
I know that he will not corporate . I can't tell him
"I am unable to tell you the purpose ." I say
"Then I am not agree ." Bobby shakes his head
"You have a daughter in erudite ." I mention
He looks at me for a while . I know that he will work
"Faction before blood . She is no longer my daughter." Bobby bites his lips
"Oh? What kind of father are you? If you don't work with me , I will control most of your peoples in Candor ." I smirk. "I have developed an attack simulation ."
"You! Fine I will give it to you." He gives in
He isn't a good father but he is a good leader . In the end , he gives me a truth serum. I check it in my hand
"Thank you."
I leave Candor headquarter . Jeanine walks beside me .
"Are you sure that you want to do that?" Jeanine isn't sure now
"What are you thinking? Do you feel guilty of that? Only erudite and abnegation are essention faction and dauntless is for nothing." I put the serum in my pocket
My pov
I stand above the chasm . Joshua and Alexander stand with all the leaders behind me . They are all worried about me . Mike takes out the syringe
"I am her boss . I should be the one to insert her ." Alexander takes out his hand
"I should do it." Mike insists
"I have no way to cheat Mike ." Alexander rolls his eyes
Mike doesn't know what to say. He gives the serum to Alexander . Alexander hesitates for a second and then inserts the serum into my neck.
I suddenly feel dizzy. I have to start fighting it.
"Starting with simple question." Mike says . "What is your name ?"
"My name is Delia prior ." I don't know what I did say with it.
"Which faction did you born and which faction did you choose?" Mike stops for a second . "What was your rank."
I don't know why he cares about that. I inhale deeply
"I am dauntless born and choose dauntless . I was ranked first ." I say confidently
"Okay now , did you know that Jason and Jennifer are divergent!" Mike folds his arms
"No, they are not divergent." I bite my mouth. I finally is able to fight it. "It was really just system error ."
Mike is silent. He is waiting for more information
"Really! They are not divergent. What are their aptitude test result." Mike frowns
"Jason was abnegation and Jennifer was candor ." I say. "Both of them transferred ."
"Fine , you are not lying ." Mike sighs. "I am done ."
He leaves and I collapse on the floor . Jennifer and Jason come to me .
"Delia!" Jason hugs me . "Are you alright? What did he done to you?"
"I am fine . I just fight with truth serum." I cough. "I am pretty tired ."
"I help you to room." Jason helps me stand up.
I stand up slowly and walk toward my dorm. He opens my door and I sit on the table .
"I will sit with you. Delia , next time please tell the truth. I don't want you to suffer ."
I feel dizzy and I fall unconscious . When I wake up , it is already the evening.
"Delia , I am so worried about you." Jennifer stands there . "I am sorry that I was giving you attitude ."
"It's fine . You are my initiate . It is my responsibility to protect you." I smile at her
"I am hungry." I rub my stomach .
