Chapter 3: A Traveller Rises From The Hero's Ashes
As Ben arrived at Professor Paradox's place, he couldn't help but notice the professor was immersed in some serious writing. However, his attention was quickly drawn to a peculiar tree nearby, its branches adorned with a variety of names. His curiosity got the better of him, and he couldn't resist asking, "Professor, what are you doing?"
Professor Paradox was so caught off guard that he nearly jumped out of his skin. But once he realized it was Ben, his face lit up with joy, and he pulled Ben into a tight hug. "Ben! You're alive! I thought I had lost you. You have no idea how much it pained me to discover all these fascinating places without anyone to share my discoveries."
Amid the warm reunion, Professor Paradox couldn't help but wonder. He decided to check his Omnitrix Multiverse Population Device and Time Watch, essential tools for maintaining the balance of time and existence within the Omnitrix Multiverse.
He began to explain their importance, "You see, the Time Watch is designed to capture even the tiniest disturbances in time. Something as small as a leaf falling differently in the past can have enormous consequences in the present, even leading to the destruction of entire universes. So, Azmuth and I created these devices to protect the multiverse's integrity."
The Time Watch, he continued, acted as a guardian against any meddling with the time continuum, helping to identify those who attempted to disrupt the balance.
The Omnitrix Multiverse Population Device was another crucial component. It meticulously recorded every DNA that was born, died, or entered from other multiverses, making it an all-time record-keeping device for the Omnitrix Multiverse.
However, when Ben returned, Professor Paradox faced a peculiar situation. Ben's DNA was nowhere to be found in the Omnitrix Multiverse Population Device, and there were no records of temporal disruptions on the Time Watch. It was a perplexing occurrence, to say the least.
Perplexed, Professor Paradox tried to comprehend the situation. "Ben, how are you alive? According to the Time Watch, you shouldn't exist, and there's no record in the Omnitrix Multiverse Population Device." He quickly realized this was an anomaly he had encountered once before. In his own past, he'd managed to break free from the constraints of the Omnitrix Multiverse Time, much like Ben. However, he didn't acquire time-manipulating powers and had become an anomaly, defying the established laws of the multiverse.
Professor Paradox clarified, "You've escaped the Omnitrix Multiverse Time, just like I once did. However, I didn't detect any Time Radiation from you, so it seems you haven't gained time powers. You've become an anomaly. According to the Multiverse's will, you should be dead. But your strong will to live broke you free from the Omnitrix Multiverse Time Line. To this universe, you're considered dead, yet you haven't acquired any time-manipulating abilities, so, unfortunately, you'll age like everyone else."
Then, Professor Paradox assumed his professional demeanor and asked, "So why have you come to me, Ben?"
Ben was candid about his feelings. "Professor, you know my childhood was far from ordinary. While other kids were enjoying carefree summers and winter vacations, I was battling various villains like Animo, Vilgax, Ghostfreak, Albedo, Malefenix, Charmcaster, and more."
"Now, I've made a decision. It's time for me to enjoy life, travel the multiverse, date different girls, and savor my youth," Ben declared. He was resolute in his decision to break free from the lifelong responsibilities and start experiencing life to the fullest.
Understanding Ben's resolve, Professor Paradox encouraged him. "You've made a good decision, kid. To help you get started, let me tell you about some of the other multiverses I've explored."
He gestured toward the branches on the Universal Tree near the Omnitrix branch, starting with, "This one is the Marvel Universe. It's known for its six Infinity Stones, each with unique powers—Time, Soul, Mind, Space, Power, and Reality. There's so much more to discover there, especially with your upgraded alien form that can control all forms of machine A.I. and upgrade them."
Pointing to another branch, Professor Paradox continued his enthusiastic explanation. "This one is known as the Beast Multiverse. In this multiverse, I found different universes, but they all have a common theme related to various kinds of beasts." He began to detail each universe, pointing from one leaf to another, with unique descriptions for each.
"In this leaf, you'll find the Pocket Monster Universe, known as the Pokemon Universe. It's a world filled with creatures called Pokemon, and trainers capture and train them for battles."
Pointing to another branch, he continued, "This one is the Digital Monster Universe, known as the Digimon Universe. Here, you'll encounter Digimon, digital creatures, and their human partners who embark on exciting adventures."
He shifted his focus to another leaf, saying, "In this universe, monsters exist within cards, and people engage in card battles. It's known as the Yu-Gi-Oh Universe."
Moving on to the next branch, Professor Paradox explained, "In this universe, players battle with spinning tops called Beyblades, each containing hidden mythical beasts. This is the Beyblade Universe."
He directed Ben's attention to another branch on the tree. "This universe is known as the Dragon Drive Universe. People here battle with their very own dragons within a virtual world."
Pointing to a different branch, Professor Paradox described, "In the Dinosaur Universe, different types of dinosaurs are confined to cards. However, when captured, they materialize as small pets, ready to assist their masters."
Next, he said, "In this universe, people fight using tiny dolls that can transform into mighty angels, and they engage in combat against opponents. This is the Angelic Layer Universe."
Finally, Professor Paradox introduced a significant universe within the Beast Multiverse. "This universe is one of the most extensive in the multiverse. It's formed when ten universes combine into a single universe with two layers. One is known as the Mamodo World, while the other is Earth. Every 1000 years, a new Mamodo King is chosen to rule. All Mamodo are sent to Earth with a Grimoire, where they find their human partners. Their bond determines the outcome of the battles."
Professor Paradox continued his explanation, delving into the unique intricacies of the Mamodo World. "In this universe, Mamodo are utterly dependent on their partners. Only their partners can read spells from the Grimoire. Through a strong bond, they can unleash powerful and unique spells. Losing a battle means the Mamodo returns to the Mamodo World, eliminated from the King Crown Race."
The importance of the Mamodo World was not lost on the professor. In their own world, Mamodo were incredibly potent beings. Unlike Earth, where they relied on human partners to use their abilities, within their home world, they merged with their Grimoires and unlocked their true potential. Even a single seemingly ordinary Mamodo was equivalent to a thousand times the power of Captain America. This distinction underscored how formidable they were in their own realm.
