Lincoln's Weekend (Part One)
The next morning, Lincoln and Hau step out of Kahuna Hala's house.
"Well; everyone, today's the day I begin my tutoring with Professor Kukui." said Lincoln. "I really want to know as much as I can about Pokemon before my first day at Pokemon School." Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone. "My sister, Lisa, wants to learn about Pokemon, so I hope Professor Kukui doesn't mind Lisa taking part in the tutoring."
"You ready, Lincoln?" asked Hau.
"You bet." said Lincoln. "Hau's taking me to Professor Kukui's lab since I have no clue where it is." Lincoln and Hau soon walked out of Iki Town and Hau begins leading to Professor Kukui's lab.
After several minutes of walking, they arrived at Professor Kukui's lab which was, to Lincoln's surprise, a small house that didn't look like was in the best shape; Lincoln was also surprised to see Lillie in front of the house.
"Hey; you're Lillie, right?" asked Lincoln.
"Yes." replied Lillie.
"So what bring you here?" asked Lincoln just as Professor Kukui steps out the front door.
"Alola, Lincoln." said Professor Kukui.
"Alola, Professor Kukui." said Lincoln.
"To answer your question, Lincoln; Lillie is my assistant." said Professor Kukui.
"Really?" replied Lincoln.
"Yes." said Lillie. "He's been letting me stay here for the last three months. I'm not really much of an assistant, but it's the least I can do."
"Come on in, Lincoln." said Professor Kukui. Lincoln enters the lab and he looks around. He sees it was basically like an ordinary home; living room with a couch, coffee table, and TV; a small kitchen area, and a loft that had a bedroom area set up on it. Lincoln also takes note of all the Pokemon he saw there. He sees a pink, bipedal one with a blue collar around its neck. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at it.
"Snubbull, the Fairy Pokemon. In contrast to its appearance, it's quite timid. When playing with other puppy Pokémon, it sometimes gets bullied." said the Rotom Phone.
Lincoln then sees a pink, bearlike Pokemon, with four brown legs. He points his Rotom Phone at it to see what it was.
"Stufful, the Flailing Pokemon. Stufful hates to be hugged or touched in any way. It will squirm, thrash, and resist with amazing power." said the Rotom Phone.
He suddenly feels something sharp rubbing against his leg, making him look down to see a brown, doglike Pokemon with a cream-colored tail, and a collar of fur around its neck that had sharp rocks coming out of it, which was what was rubbing against his leg. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Rockruff, the Puppy Pokemon. When it rubs the rocks on its neck against you, that's proof of its love for you. However, the rocks are sharp, so the gesture is quite painful!" said the Rotom Phone.
"Wow, I heard that love hurts sometimes, but I didn't think it meant that literally." said Lincoln. He then kneels down and rubs the top of the Rockruff's head, making it bark with delight.
"I see that Rockruff likes you, Lincoln." said Professor Kukui. Lincoln sees a small aquarium that had a pink, heart-shaped, fish-like Pokemon and a pink and light blue Pokemon that looked like it had coral branches sticking out of it. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at the heart shaped Pokemon.
"Luvdisc, the Rendezvous Pokemon. Luvdisc makes its home in coral reefs in warm seas. It especially likes sleeping in the space between Corsola's branches." said the Rotom Phone. Lincoln then points the Rotom Phone at the other Pokemon.
"Corsola, the Coral Pokemon. In Alola, where their natural enemies, Mareanie, are plentiful; many Corsola have stubby branches on their heads." said the Rotom Phone.
"Man, there are so many different kinds of Pokemon." said Lincoln. Professor Kukui then leads him into his basement where his laboratory is located. It was a large open area with a desk that had two computer screens on it, on the wall it was in front of was a large screen, on another wall were several bookshelves that was full of books, there was also a long storage chamber that had several pokeballs inside of it, a tubelike aquarium that had two Luvdiscs in it; on it were two screens that were displaying data on them. There were also boxes containing electrical devices, a punching bag and weight set in one corner, and also a long couch that was in front of another wall.
"This is my laboratory, Lincoln." said Professor Kukui. After Lincoln looks around for a while, Professor Kukui goes over to a bookshelf and pulls a book titled 'Pokemon Basics' off it. "Are you ready, Lincoln?"
"Hey, is it okay if my little sister, Lisa, joins in on the lessons?" asked Lincoln as he pulls out his Rotom Phone. "She's four, but a science prodigy. I told her about Pokemon and she seemed interested in learning about them."
"Sure, where is she?" asked Professor Kukui.
"Back in America." replied Lincoln.
"How can she join in if she's all the way back there?" asked Professor Kukui. Lincoln uses video chat to connect with Lisa's laptop. A minute later, Lisa's face appears on Lincoln's Rotom Phone's screen.
"Greetings, brother." said Lisa.
"Hi, Lisa." said Lincoln. "I'm here at Professor Kukui's lab." Professor Kukui looks over at the Rotom Phone screen.
"Alola, young lady." said Professor Kukui, getting Lisa's attention.
"Is that Professor Kukui?" asked Lisa.
"Yes." replied Lincoln.
"Greetings, Professor Kukui." said Lisa.
"Alola, Lisa." replied Professor Kukui.
"Alola?" asked Lisa.
"Alola is a way of greeting people here in Alola, as well as saying goodbye." said Lincoln.
"I see." said Lisa.
"Well then, let's begin." said Professor Kukui. He then spent three hours going over the basics of Pokemon with Lincoln and Lisa; such as the many types of Pokemon there are, several kinds of species that are found in Alola, abilities, evolutions, how to train them, etc. He connected his computer to Lincoln's Rotom Phone, and used it to send data on the biology and physiology of all known species of Pokemon in Alola to Lisa's computer, which she'd look at later.
After Lincoln's tutoring was done, he walked over to Hau'oli City to give his family a video tour of it. He shows everyone all the sights. As he walked down the street, while showing everyone the beach, he hears a familiar voice calling out to him.
"Hey, Lincoln." said the voice. Lincoln turns around and blushes when he sees Mallow running towards him; with her were Lillie, and another girl he hasn't met yet. The unknown girl had blue hair with a gold hairband in it, she was wearing a sleeveless, white shirt, short blue cape, long blue pants, and dark-colored sandals.
"Hi, Mallow; hey, Lillie." said Lincoln. He then looks over at the new girl. Mallow notices this and remembers that Lincoln hasn't met her yet.
"Oh, this is Lana." said Mallow.
"Hi." said the girl now known as Lana.
"What a coincidence; I have a sister named Lana." said Lincoln.
"Really?" asked Lana.
"That would be me." said Lana Loud, who was listening in along with the other sisters, getting Mallow, Lillie, and Alola Lana's attention. (a/n: We'll call Lincoln's sister, Lana, Lana Loud so to not confuse her with the Alola Lana.)
"Who said that?" asked Mallow. Lincoln then holds his Rotom Phone screen towards the three Alola girls, who look at it to see all of Lincoln's sisters, and his parents.
"This is my family." said Lincoln. "I'm giving them a tour of the city via video chat."
"Oh." said Mallow. "It's nice to meet you all."
"Are you a friend that Linky made?" asked Leni.
"We met yesterday at the Pokemon School." explained Mallow. Lincoln then introduces them to his family.
"So, you have sisters named Lana AND Lily?" asked Mallow.
"I know; what are the odds?" asked Lincoln.
"I'm glad that Lincoln's making friends there." said Lori.
"So, what are you three up to?" Lincoln asked the Alola girls.
"We're just heading for Alola Sunrise." said Mallow.
"What's that?" asked Lincoln.
"It's a store in the shopping district that's popular with young girls here on Melemele Island." explained Lillie.
"It sells all kinds of beautiful accessories made from natural ingredients." said Lana, getting the Loud sisters' attention.
"Really?" said Lola with interest in her voice.
"Linky! You HAVE to go to that store!" said Leni. "I want to see EVERYTHING they have there!"
"Sure, I did say I'd give you a tour of the entire city." said Lincoln. He felt arms hook around both of his. He looks and blushes when he sees Mallow with her arm around his right one, and Lillie with an arm around his left one. They all pull him along, while Lana gently pushes him forward from behind.
They soon reach Alola Sunrise, and Lincoln holds his Rotom Phone towards the main shopping area so his sisters could see what they had there. He could hear sounds of awe coming from most of his sisters, and squeals of delight coming Lori, Leni, and Lola. He shows his sisters every single accessory the store had to offer. Lola kept saying "I WANT THAT!" every time he does so.
Soon, after the tour, and Lincoln promising to buy each sister an accessory when he somehow acquires more money, the group exits the store. They all went to a restaurant where the four had lunch together, while Lincoln's family eat at home in their dining room while Lisa's laptop was on the table there.
"I, totes, wish I was there with you, Linky." said Leni.
"I want you to buy me each accessory that was in that Alola Sunrise store as soon as you're able to!" says Lola.
"Yes, Lola." said Lincoln with a sigh.
"These Pokemon creatures are incredible!" says Lisa as she looks at some of the data that Professor Kukui sent her.
"I'll say!" said Lana. "I liked that one that was made of sludge! (Grimer)"
"Of course, you would." said Lola. "I liked the cute ones!" After everyone ate, Lincoln and the Alola girls decide to call it a day.
"Today was fun." said Mallow.
"It sure was." said Lincoln.
"I'm going to head back to Professor Kukui's lab." said Lillie.
"Yeah, I'm gonna head home also." said Mallow.
"Me, too." said Lana.
"See you on Monday at school, Lincoln." said Mallow before winking at Lincoln, making him blush.
"Y-Y-Yeah." stammered Lincoln, making Mallow giggle. After the girls left, Lincoln hears giggling coming from his Rotom Phone. He looks at his screen to see his sisters staring at him with big smiles on their faces.
"Do you like Mallow?" asked Luan with a smirk. Lincoln looks away with a blush on his face, making his sisters squeal with delight. Lincoln quickly ends the call before he could go through a rant from his sisters.
Later that night at Kahuna Hala's house, Lincoln tells him and Hau about his day while they all have dinner.
"Sounds like you had an eventful day today." said Kahuna Hala.
"Yeah, it was awesome!" said Lincoln.
"I'm glad you're enjoying yourself while you're hear, Lincoln." said Kahuna Hala.
"Professor Kukui says he's going to teach me how to train my Litten, and how to catch wild Pokemon." said Lincoln.
"Knowing how to battle with your Litten would help you in the future if a wild Pokemon attacks you." said Kahuna Hala.
"And catching some more for your team would come in handy if you plan on competing in the Alola League." said Hau.
"Alola League?" replied Lincoln.
"It's an annual tournament the region is making; it's a competition here in Alola where trainers battle against other trainers' Pokemon in a tournament to see who the strongest one in Alola is." explained Hau.
"That sounds like fun!" said Lincoln with excitement.
"So, you're going to do it?" asked Hau.
"I'll think about it." said Lincoln. "Maybe I should learn more about Pokemon at school before I consider it."
"That would be wise." said Kahuna Hala. After everyone finished eating, they cleaned their dishes, and spent the rest of the night watching TV until they all went to bed. What will tomorrow hold for Lincoln as his Alola adventure continues?
