Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon or the song High Hopes.
Mini AN: I have no idea what to make of this chapter. Please tell what you guys think.
Had to have high, high hopes for a living
Shooting for the stars when I couldn't make a killing
Didn't have a dime but I always had a vision
Always had high, high hopes
Had to have high, high hopes for a living
Didn't know how but I always had a feeling
I was gonna be that one in a million
Always had high, high hopes
Liam and Charcadet run through the forest jumping over rocks and ducking under tree branches as the sun sets. Charcadet using Flame Charge occasionally to go through some of the smaller branches.
Mama said
Fulfill the prophecy
Be something greater
Go make a legacy
Manifest destiny
Back in the days
We wanted everything, wanted everything
Mama said
Burn your biographies
Rewrite your history
Light up your wildest dreams
Museum victories, everyday
We wanted everything, wanted everything
Charcadet and Liam are doing pushups across from each other and high fiving after each one under the light of the moon.
Mama said don't give up, it's a little complicated
All tied up, no more love and I'd hate to see you waiting
Charcadet is shooting Flame Thrower repeatedly from its mouth at targets while Liam is jumping from the tops of the targets as Charcadet lights them on fire.

Beldum watched from the sidelines as Charcadet engaged Zigzagoon for the 5th time the previous four matches had ended in Charcadet's loss.
Mama said
It's uphill for oddities
Stranger crusaders
Ain't ever wannabes
The weird and the novelties
Don't ever change
We wanted everything, wanted everything
Stay up on that rise
Stay up on that rise and never come down, oh
Stay up on that rise
Stay up on that rise and never come down
Charcadet jumps back to avoid a blow from Norman's Zigzagoon before Liam calls out "Fire Blast."
Mama said don't give up, it's a little complicated
All tied up, no more love and I'd hate to see you waiting
They say it's all been done but they haven't seen the best of me
So I got one more run and it's gonna be a sight to see
Charcadet stood over the fainted Zigzagoon burn marks littered the forest floor and several of the surrounding trees.

Liam climbed up a rope and swung off it grabbing another rope and swinging off that only to catch another rope before slowly climbing down.

Liam reaches up towards the sun with his right hand as it shines brightly down upon him Charcadet and Beldum.
Author's Note:
So yeah I meant to have this up two weeks ago but unfortunately life got in the way. Good news is that I'm on vacation from work so I have a little more time to write for the next couple of days so hopefully I can produce a couple more chapters before I have to go back and get slowed down by things like real life.
In other news the amount of response on the four move rule was nice. So going forward Pokemon will be able to learn any number of moves but for scaling purposes Gym Leaders during gym challenges can only use four moves, whereas depending on the region Gym Challengers will be allowed anywhere between 4-6 moves. these rules will only apply to gym challenges and some tournaments. For example if I make it to the World Coronation tournament from Journeys that'll be a use as many moves as possible but a gym challenge against say Lt. Surge would be a four move battle.
Assuming I make it to the World Coronation tournament from Journeys this will make it so that the Gym Leaders can be made more powerful during the tournament while also having a reasonable explanation for how they were beat during a gym challenge.
Reader response:
To Brie45 - Thanks for the feedback and I hope my end decision is acceptable.
To Wanderer097- Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you're interested in who Drake Ward is.
To Runeion - Thanks for the feedback and I hope the end decision is acceptable. Unfortunately doing different difficulties of gym challenges that offer different rewards is something I haven't put a whole lot of thought into yet since the first arc requires everyone to do the same challenge since the Galar Cup also functions as a tournament so the degree of difficulty has to be the same for everyone.
To Catalis - Thanks for the feedback and I hope my end decision is acceptable.
To Jacob Shaw1 - Agreed and I hope my end decision is acceptable.
To Guest - Ash is tagged as a main character because while he has not appeared yet he will. Ash will also play a major role in later arcs so I preemptively tagged him.
To Guest - Ok so assuming Google Translate is accurate. Me alegra que te guste la historia hasta ahora. Gracias por los comentarios.
To Slayer76 - Agreed, I've never understood that particular creative decision.
Next time:
Well stuff happens but I'm really not sure how to tease any of it but it'll be out either later today or tomorrow. I was gonna put it out before this but ultimately finished this first, which makes sense given that this is much shorter in comparison.
