How to make jade leech chirp.

A small fanfic of my headcanon: The leeches chirp - similar to how a bird chirps - when EXTREMELY happy. Word count: 1265 Warning: slight anxiety.

Second person POV: You had just gotten away from the headmaster: Crowley, exhausted from the work. You had to unfortunately do another set of tiring work that Crowley could fully do himself. Tired and sore, your feet carried you to the mirror chamber, the way to ramshackle. Entering the mirror and getting to your present home made you realize that you forgot to thank Jack for helping you carry some apples earlier today, so, even if you were exhausted, you carried yourself up and went to thank Jack. That's when you pat your pockets to find the keys to Jack's room - Jack was kind enough to loan out a spare - when you found out that something was missing, checking your pockets you notice what it was: your keys to your diary's lock. Quickly you check your bag to know if maybe you put it in there, that's when you found out that your diary is missing. Who could have done this? You call up the boys (Jack, Ace, Deuce, Epel and Sebek) to see if maybe you've dropped out somewhere, but not a single one of them knows where it was nor if you've dropped it. Then a thought hit you: what if it has been stolen. You started searching at Heartslabyul's dorm, where you found Riddle. No sign of your diary there. Then you went to Savannahclaw, but not a single sign of the diary there. So you went to Octavinelle where you found Floyd leech, who took great joy in your distraught. "Floyd, stop laughing, where is my diary?!" You asked, only resulting in more laughter from the leech. "Shrimpy's so funny" he said while grinning. Once again, you asked where your diary was. "It seems you might have misplaced it, dear prefect." A calm but deadly voice sounded through the lounge - Jade Leech. "Jade, if you know who took it, please tell me." With a sly smile he chuckled, "It seems that Azul may have something to do with the loss of your diary." And so, you walked up to Azul's office and barged into the room. "Azul Ashengrotto! How dare you steal my diary!" You yelled at him, scaring him up from his seat in the process. "Prefect, please. You must have mistaken my kindness for stealing, I simply grabbed your diary after you dropped it in class. I'll gladly give it back to you… For a price." He chuckled and you could have sworn the Leeches chuckled as well. "Azul Ashengrotto, how dare you!" You were now enraged, how dare he go steal your diary and then talk to you as if he was some great God you should thank. "If you do not want it back, I'll gladly keep it." He smiled, a gentle smile - a fake one at that. "Fine, what do you want from me?" You might have been pissed off, but you really needed that diary. "I want you to give one of us something we could not get ourselves, in three days.

Otherwise we'll keep the diary and take something from you. " Once again the room was filled with evil laughter. "You evil octopus!" You screamed at him. But with no other option, you signed the paper. The day ended with being shoved out of Octovinelle by the tweels. "Stupid tweels, stupid Azul." You barely slept that night, anxious about how you would fix this mess. "I'm hungry!" Grim whined. "Yes, yes. I'll get you some food." You still needed to take care of Grim after all.

The day after was filled with chaos: Grim needed to eat even more Tuna than he already had, Ace was collared by Riddle Rosehearts and Deuce failed his test. You were tired, exhausted even, but worst of all: you had no idea how to fix the mess you were in. "Please Grim, not now." You pleaded, Grim scratching your leg. "But I want tuna!" he screamed. And so you got him some tuna, unfortunately. You barely slept that night, head filled with anxious thoughts.

The next day was filled with sadness. You were distraught by how you would fix this mess. With what you had gotten into, you had no idea how to fix it. With no idea of what to do: you walked to the Savannahclaw dorm, looking for Jack. When you found him you vented your problems to him. "I just don't know what to do!" You sighed into the pillow. Jack rubbed your back, slightly comforting you. "It's okay Prefect, let's take it slow and figure it out. Who would be the easiest to get them something?" "I don't know Jack, that's why I came to you!" Jack and you discussed how to fix the problem at hand and found: absolutely nothing. That night you slept soundly, but those thoughts of anxiety still haunted you.

The last day, you were anxious to even breathe. Azul could take anything and anyone from you if you didn't complete this, it was scary. You walked through the kitchen of Ramshackle, with no idea of what to do. Until you saw a small orange mushroom glimmering, it was petite but beautiful with small ridges of blue. You thought to yourself: "there was no way that Jade leech didn't already have this." but something, very small, told you that this was it. So you took it, it was your last shot after all, and ventured to Octovinelle.

There sat Azul Ashengrotto, the dorm leader. Proud as he was with his plan. "Ah, prefect! Welcome." He smiled gently, teeth showing. "Whatever do you need?" It was a small question, but you could see the joy in his eyes. "Where's Jade?" you asked. Azul answered where he was and led you there, glee covering his entire face. Reaching Jade's location you sat down, smiling at Jade. Beside Jade was Floyd, playing with his hair. "What do you need from me, Prefect?" His smile showed his clean pointy teeth. "I got you something." you said, before showing him the small mushroom. You expected to hear him laugh, maybe smile slightly, but never did you expect the sound that came from him. He let out a small, nearly soundless, chirp. Then, quickly, he covered his mouth, his face blossoming into a very slight blush. Floyd only stared at his brother, before laughing with his entire body.

"Shrimpy made Jade chirp!" he laughed, before continuing his speech: "Jade and (Name), K-i-s-s-i-n-g under the sea!" he laughed. Azul, who had followed you there, stared in shock. He had no idea that Jade could even make that sound. You too were flabbergasted, surprised by the sound that the Jade leech had made. But this was good, you had somehow gotten him something he didn't have, or at least you thought so. "Prefect… You have given me something not even the best of specialists have, how did you do it?" "Oh I just found it at home." His eyes lit up and he chuckled. "My, my. Would you care for a house visit someday, prefect?"

You managed to get out of Octovinelle, without Jade following you, and finally got out of this stupid contract. Azul had agreed to end the contract and give you your diary back, so finally you could sleep without anxious thoughts. You fell asleep that night with your diary in hand and another win in life. But best of all, you had gained the secret of Jade Leech.
