It was around 4.30 when Jack walked in from work. "Hey" he smiled as he walked in to the kitchen where Rose was making a side salad for with their dinner "hi… good day?" Rose asked and got a nod in response "yes it was good thanks, yours?" "yes it was nice thank you, I met Mary coffee whilst Lucy watched Tilly and then we went to the store… what on earth is all that?" She said confused, noticing the 3 large bags that Jack was holding. He placed them on the worktop "don't go mad, OK?" He said "OK…" she replied, confused. "I got the girls some toys" he said as he began to empty the bags "Jack, you didn't have to do that…" Rose said, her heart melting "I know… but I wanted too… I got Tilly her own art book and colouring pencils, a doll to play with and a little tea set. Sophia was a little harder to buy for" he chuckled "but I got her one of those mats with a mobile thing over it, her own bear and a baby swing, so you don't have to hold her all the time or worry about her being upstairs" he smiled, like it was nothing "I also got you some nice bubble bath, shampoo, all that stuff… so you can have a relaxing bath, you deserve sometime to yourself. I'll watch the girls, and I got you a new dressing gown…. You look sweet in mine, but it's a bit old now" he chuckled. She stepped closer to him, holding back tears "thank you…" she whispered and kissed him gently and wiped her eye "you're welcome" he kissed her forehead as she rested her head against his chest. "But you know you don't have to, don't spend all your money on me and the girls" she raised an eyebrow up at him, firmly. "Rose, like I said, I make good money now, and if I want to spend that money on 3 very special people, then that's what I'll do" he also raised an eyebrow, before he kissed her head again. She just sighed gently and tightened her grip around his waist.

"Where are the girls?" He asked confused as she pulled away after a moment "Tilly is in the living room colouring and Sophia is asleep" "can I take the stuff to show Tilly?" He asked "of course you can… she already thinks your gods gift though, you've got yourself a little fan there" she chuckled and got a laugh in response. He picked up the bag with the stuff for Tilly in whilst Rose turned the heat down on the oven for the jacket potatoes and followed him in to the living room.

Tilly heared the door open and saw it was Jack. "Jack!" She grinned at him, not even noticing the bag he had "I drew this!" She held up the picture proudly, the same picture she had shown Rose earlier that day. "Oh wow! That's brilliant Tilly!" He grinned at her "that's me and that's Mummy and that's Sophia and that's you" Tilly said, pointing out every bit of the drawing. Jack's heart melted that he had been included in her drawing "well, we'll have to put that somewhere special for sure!" He smiled at her "we got you some toys, wanna see?" "Toys?" She looked at him confused, not really used to getting given toys, Cal more or less forbid them. Rose would always try her best to sneak her one now and then, but it was pretty hard filled in a house with staff. "Yes…" he smiled "oh… yes please" Tilly said, uncertainty in her voice.

Jack sat on the floor near her and began to take stuff out of the bag "so we got you a doll" he said as he passed it to her "and a tea set, so you can have tea parties" he showed her the pink basket with the contents inside "and we got you your own sketch book and pencils!" he grinned. Tilly gasped "thank you!" She threw her arms around him "I love them all! Thank you!" It was possibly the most excited Rose had ever seen her daughter. Jack hugged her back "you're welcome sweetheart" Tilly stood up and hugged Rose tightly "thank you Mummy" "well actually-" Rose stared, not wanting to take credit for Jack's kindness, but he interrupted "Mummy chose the tea set! Isn't that great?" He grinned at Tilly, getting an eager nod in response. "How about you play with those whilst me and Mummy go and finish up dinner?" He said as he stood up "OK.. thank you" Tilly repeated. Jack and Rose smiled at her as they left the room.

Once in the kitchen, Rose spoke up "you didn't have to do that you know" "do what?" He asked confused "say they were from both of us… they were from you, Jack" she said but he just shrugged "it's fine" he smiled at her as he took the jacket potatoes out of the oven and put them on to plates as Rose put the salad on the table.

The 3 of them sat talking about their days as they ate, whilst Sophia lay in her new baby swing, looking around.

Jack laughed as Tilly yawned mid sentence "you tired?" He asked, getting a nod in response "I'll put you to bed when we've finished eating sweetheart" Rose smiled gently.

Jack has just finished getting changed in to joggers and a t shirt when Rose crept out of Tilly's room. "Do you want me to run you a bath? You can use your new stuff" he offered kindly "thank you, but I might give it an hour or so first, just in case the girls wake up" "I'll keep an ear out for them" he said quietly "are you sure?" she replied "of course…" "thank you" she smiled gratefully "I'll go get one now" she rubbed his arm "I'll be down after my bath, knock on if the girls wake up or anything" "I will" Jack nodded, watching as Rose went in to the bathroom.
