Paths Revisited
Walking over to the portal, Sonic said, "Welp, here we go.". "Keep in mind that you're testing whether or not the portal's stable. If it is, then we will follow you and commence the invasion.", Gemma said. "Got it, G-Dawg.", Sonic said. Nervously entering the portal, Sonic then found himself in a long cyan corridor with a sinister red door at the end. "Well, how does it feel, Sonic?", Arashi asked. "Well, the portal looks stable but the corridor is quite narrow. I don't think we'll be able to commence the invasion properly unless we all travel in single file.", Sonic replied. "Damn. And we were so close too.", Shiden said. "Don't be like that, Shiden. Even single file would easily get all of us to the UK.", Tager said. Suddenly, Sonic noticed the corridor widening quite significantly. "Actually, scratch that. It seems that we'll be able to properly invade anyway.", Sonic said. "How do you figure?", Vector asked. "Well, the corridor's widening, meaning we can transport more troops and the Ferronises. At least that's what it looks like.", Sonic replied. Walking over to the entrance, Sonic said, "We'll be able to transport the whole army now.". "Wonderful.", Z said. "And the Lightwardens?", Sonic asked. "They're safe in the Sacred Realm.", Blanc replied. "Good. We'll be able to fight without worrying about them.", Genis said. Suddenly, the group felt a strange quake. "What was that?", Rita asked. "Possibly the activation of the Embryo.", Hubert replied. "That's odd. I didn't hear anything about the Embryo being tested before the invasion began.", Ethel said. "Maybe they're testing it to make sure it works.", Leif said. "Well, I wouldn't put it pass them to do that.", Ivy said. "Anyway, shall we begin?", Alfred asked. "Yes, let's.", Kota replied.
Carefully studying the Ferronises, Alvis said, "2B, do you think that Jack will finally stop blaming himself and become Our Sovereign?". "Who's to say?", 2B replied. "It's just that I sense something within the Black Cradle that may very well prove to be the architect of the Multiverse's undoing. I just hope Jack knew what he was doing when he placed the Black Cradle in the Embryo's position and destroyed the latter.", Alvis said. "Still, Jack is Our Sovereign. I have faith that he knows what he's doing, no matter what it is.", 2B said. "I just hope you're right.", Alvis said. Suddenly, the Ferronises aggressively jerked alive. "Commencing Ferronis test. All personnel stand clear.", said the PA over the speakers. "Seems the Ferronises are about to be brought through.", 2B said. "Indeed.", Alvis said. As the two stepped out of the hangar, 2B then saw that one of the Ferronises was beginning to crackle with dark red energy. Smirking, she then watched as the Ferronises marched out of the hangar and through the blue portal.
"OK, here we go.", Noah said, his Ferronis being the first to breach the portal. He was promptly followed by Mio, Eunie, Taion, Lanz and Sena in their own Ferronises, only to be followed in turn by Ethel and Cammuravi in their own Ferronises. The eight Ferronises then followed the host of warriors as they traversed the cyan corridor, with Noah in particular noticing how seemingly infinite the corridor was. "Don't lose hope.", Mio said over the intercom. "It's not that. It's just that this corridor is truly huge.", Noah said. "Well, Sonic did say the corridor was quite huge and long.", Taion said. "Still, don't lose focus. We're here to invade the UK and not stop until YHVH can properly enter and cover the whole Multiverse in the Flood of Light.", Noah said.
As I walked up to my room, I then felt an acute pain in my left arm. I panted heavily as I grabbed the arm, noticing black and dark red energy beginning to leak out of it. "Seems they're near. Damn it all.", I said. Suddenly, I heard an all too familiar voice behind me say, "You still haven't accepted me. Shame.". Turning around, I saw the dark knight I previously saw in Isla del Sol again. "Just who are you anyway?", I asked. "I am you. More specifically, I am Odin, the Warden of Darkness and you are my Dominant.", the dark knight said. Suddenly, I saw another vision of myself in another room facing Alphen and Shionne. "Are you sure?", Alphen asked. "I am. I don't deserve the position of Sovereign, being inferior, subhuman and worthless. Besides, Yuito deserves the position more than I do. He's also a better person and a better ruler than me anyway.", the other me said. "Well, I am very disappointed in you. My husband chose you to become the next Sovereign after him and you decide to not only reject the position but also elect another as the Sovereign as well. I just have to say that I am absolutely disgusted that you would actually reject the opportunity to rule over Aionios like the God you are.", Shionne said, a look of acute disgust on her face. "No, I'm no God. Just a fool who was despicable enough to exist and be human.", the other me said. The vision then faded, leaving me panting very heavily. I looked up from the floor, noticing that the dark knight had gone. "Weird.", I said.
As they exited the portal, Noah noticed that the sky had turned from green to a very pale pink. "Yes! The Flood of Light is spreading!", Lanz exclaimed excitedly. "And it won't be long until all is united under our Lord YHVH in light.", Marth said. "Still, we need to find out where the UK is. Only then will we shall be successful.", Clive said. "Trust me, I'm working on that.", Tails replied. "Still, we have 7 Eikons- Ifrit, Phoenix, Bahamut, Ramuh, Shiva, Garuda and Titan to that ingrate's 1. Even Odin shall fall to YHVH's divine light.", Eirika said. "I hope you're right. But still, my power as the Phoenix seems to be weaker than Clive's brother. I don't really know why myself.", Byleth said. "Maybe it's because you're not using the Phoenix's full power.", Chai said. "You may be right.", Dante said. Soon enough, the British Isles came into view. Smirking, Noah cried, "The time is now! The invasion has begun!".
