Chapter 66: Downward Trek Tower 1 Part 5
Briar and the others use their magic to attack the Phantom who are set on attacking them. Luckily, they're able to defeat it. The Phantom lets out a screech and dissolves into a black inky puddle.
"Did the Phantoms just turn into some kind of... black ink?!" Epel responds, shocked.
"It looks a lot like the black ink we've seen coming out of those shadows back at the school," Briar says.
"It's blot," Vil clarifies,"Take care not to touch it. It could contaminate you.
"Well then, Quel dommage!" Rook says, shocked, "Look at the floor where the blot spilled. It's losing its color, and becoming withered and cracked."
The group begins to slowly and carefully walk past the puddle of blot.
"And...Idia and Ortho are trying to let these things loose on the world?" Epel asks, shocked.
If they succeed, the world will spiral into pure chaos," Vil says. "We must stop them. Even if it means crushing their hopes and dreams in the process.
"...I suppose so," Rook responds, "Those Phantoms were small, but it's clear many more are waking up. We must get to the bottom level before…" But notices something ahead, "Hm?"
Rook looks to see a large door and says, "It would appear we've reached a dead end."
Everyon soon sees a door for themselves at the end of the staircase.
"You're right. There's a big door at the end of the stairs," Epel says.
Vil looks at the map, "According to the map, that door leads to a Phantom containment facility."
"So it'll be crawling with Phantoms," Briar says, worried.
"That's really bad," Sereia says, worried.
Even Trinket is concerned.
But Epel reassures, "Don't you worry! No matter what they throw at us, I'll capture 'em with my signature spell!
My, don't you sound dependable. Well then, shall we head in?" Vil says.
And with that, everyone begins to walk towards the door. Then Vil opens the door and everyone walks inside.
