Author's Note: Hey, it's me, Kaly. I've changed the rating from T to M. The reason? Well, you'll see later on, but I'm planning some pretty violent turns of events that I don't think suit a T rating. But I won't spoil what that is. Thank you!

War Against The Chemically Created

Chapter One: Created With Chemicals

(This fic is an Alternate Universe, and may have differing lore from the canon.)

-Porter Utonium's Perspective-

I was a normal man once. Well, I still am, but my family isn't really such. My name is Porter Utonium, and I'm a single man. I've always wanted children of my own, but I could never have any. If it isn't the fact I don't have a partner, then it's the fact that I can't have children biologically, at least that's what my doctor says.

It was by chance that, fourteen years ago, I discovered a room in my house that I didn't even know existed. What lies in that room, are wonders beyond what I ever dreamed. It was almost like a laboratory, a laboratory filled with things I'd never even heard of- well, I wasn't really the sciencey type, but I knew damn well that "Chemical W" wasn't something I learned in high school.

It all happened one day, one fateful day. I was baking a cake, a cake for a leaving co-worker. I worked for the Mayor of my hometown, Townsville. My co-worker, Sara Bellum, was the Mayor's secretary, but she had always felt something was… off, about the Mayor. I did as well, but I couldn't just leave, I had to feed myself, pay for the roof above my head. At least Sara had a job to move to over in the town of Citiesville.

But what I didn't realize was that this cake would change my life. I was cooking in that strange laboratory-like basement, as I barely had room in the tiny kitchen I lived in. I figured I'd repurpose this room for my own needs. As I was adding the ingredients, I failed to notice that the vial of Chemical W was right above me, and then… I bumped into it.

It fell right into the cake batter. And then the batter started to bubble, move, and do all sorts of unusual things. It spilled itself out of its bowl and onto the floor. It started to change color, into a brown, almost like skin… because it was skin. My cake was becoming a creature.

The creature grew appendages, like arms and legs, though without proper hands or feet. It grew a head, and from that head, it developed giant eyes, in a shade of purple. It grew hair of cyan blue, with a lighter blue streak. The little creature was almost like a little baby person.

I was in shock- my cake had just become a living, breathing creature because of Chemical W. I was afraid to go near it at first, but then it looked at me… She looked at me. Those giant eyes were so innocent, childlike… child. This had to be a dream, right? A strange dream about my wish for children, and as dreams do, it became strange and gave me a child out of cake, right!?

I went closer to her, and looked at her. She reached her arms out to me in a hug, crying and confused. She didn't understand being alive, she was cake batter a moment ago. She clung to me like a child needing their parent… and I was her parent now.

I quickly rushed to find whatever I could to dress the little one, and I managed to find an old dress of my late sister's. It was purple with a black stripe, said stripe having whimsical music notes along it. I placed it onto her, and she seemed to like it.

"There you go, my little… my little… shit, you need a name… how about… uh… Bliss…tina…..? Fran….cesca……. Uh…. Francia? Mariam? Alicia? You know what, fuck it, you can have them all. You'll be my little Blisstina Francesca Francia Mariam Alicia Utonium. Bliss, for short."

Bliss smiled at her new name, giggling adorably… and glowing!? She started to float as she glowed, and when I looked into her adorable, innocent baby eyes as she used incredible power she didn't even realize she had… I knew that Bliss was my daughter, no matter how she came to be or what she was.

--

She was nine when the triplets were born. I had discovered many strange substances in this unusual basement, which I had completely redecorated. No longer was it a laboratory , but it still had many wonders. Bliss and I were cleaning up the place, when suddenly, in my clumsiness, I had knocked over something called "Chemical X." It splashed everywhere, onto some sugar, some spices, and a bowl of candy that I'd labeled "everything nice" for my Bliss.

The candy started to grow, a similar way that I had witnessed nine years ago. And so did the sugar and spices. They grew into peach-skinned beings, triplets. The one of sugar had grown big blue eyes and yellow hair. The one of spice had grown green eyes and black hair. And the one of candy had grown pink eyes and orange hair.

Bliss and I had decided to give them outfits that matches their eye colors, just as she had her own. Using her amazing telekinetic abilities, she sewed together three beautiful outfits out of some old fabric in the closet upstairs. Oh, I loved my Bliss so much. And I was going to love these new girls the same.

The one of sugar would be named Bubbles, or "Bubsie" as Bliss liked to call her. The one of spice I had named Buttercup. Bliss likes calling her "Butters". And of course, I had to name the one of candy… Blossom. My little Blossom.

--

Today, my girls are fourteen and five. My Bliss wears a larger purple dress now, but with the same patterns as her first. She wears a headband with a heart on it, it reminds me of her big heart.

My Blossom wears a pink dress with flower patterns on the black stripe. She wears a beautiful red bow atop her head, and her orange hair is kept in a ponytail by a heart clip, and she wears a rainbow bracelet on her wrist.

My Bubsie wears a blue dress with a heart pattern along the black stripe. Her beautiful yellow hair is kept in pigtails with blue bows.

And my Buttercup, her green dress has stars along the black line, and her short black raven hair is brushed into a flip, and she had a little barrette in the shape of a leaf.

Although my girls weren't your average girls- heck, some would argue they aren't even human, though they certainly have the heart of one- they did their absolute best to live normal lives. Though, their unusual appearances and abilities left them outcast. I thought that being outcast by their peers would be the worst of it, but one day something happened that changed our world forever.

--

My Bliss had come to work with me one day, for bring your child to work day. The Mayor wasn't the brightest, but I never expected him to go as far as he did today…

You see, what happened was, my Bliss had always had a hard time controlling her powers when she was feeling heavy emotions, but we did have techniques to help bring her to a calm if needed.

My Bliss was given the opportunity to cut the ribbon for a new store opening, alongside the other work kids. But she had never done good in crowds. She attempted to decline, but the Mayor insisted. Even when I tried to intervene, he practically forced her.

She was so afraid of messing up, my poor Bliss had so much anxiety when it came to being "judged".

"C'mon, Bliss, do it!" cried the Mayor.

"its okay, cupcake… you can do this. Dad's here. I'm here." I tried to help my teenage daughter keep herself calm, but to no avail. "Remember your breathing, sweetie…"

She soon teleported away, and hid inside the store… but she clearly couldn't keep control, because the store then exploded in a blast of psionic energy.

--

Later that day, there was a conference about the incident. The Mayor had declared that mutants were a danger to society and had to be killed.

"Why wasn't I consulted about this!? These are my daughters!!" I protested, but to no real avail.

I ran home as soon as possible, as fast as I physically could. Once I arrived home the first thing I did was slam the door open and yell, " GIRLS, WE NEED TO LEAVE TOWN, NOW!!!!!!!!"

I explained the situation in a way that my triplets could understand, but even then, they had all the same questions I did: what did they do to deserve this.

But just as we were finally ready to leave the house… Bubsie knocked over a vial of Chemical X.
