Chapter 1: A New Power! Destiny Disrupted!
"Get back here!"
Crap, he's gaining on us! Krillin couldn't help the panic welling up inside him. Despite being a seasoned warrior who had seen many battles, coming across someone who was several fold-stronger than himself always managed to make him quake. To his right was Gohan, the son of his best friend and in his arms was a Namekian named Dende, and right behind them as he dared to take a glance, was a very angry, very powerful, pink blob of an alien. Just like a Hippo, that fat appearance was merely a facade, hiding all that terrible power just waiting to be used to put someone or something in its place.
It wouldn't be long before the alien was upon him and Gohan.
His mind raced, what should he do? Should he turn and face the monster, sending Gohan on his way while he (Krillin) stays behind to buy some time? Or maybe he has Gohan hide Dende and come back, and the two face the pink alien together? Their power combined could be enough, especially if he could pull off a Destrco-
"Woah!"
"What the-"
Before Krillin could react, a second power suddenly appeared right behind him and Gohan. Turning around as he and Gohan both come to a dead stop, they watch as the alien that had been chasing them also comes to a full stop in the sky.
Between the two groups stood, or floated, a young man in an unmarked orange gi almost exactly like Krillin's own. With black spikey hair shifted sideways, they watched as the young man, no, boy, looked at himself, a smile slowly growing on his face before he looked around, finally noticing everyone else who was staring at him. Blinking as he took stock of the situation, Krillin couldn't help but notice something that sent a chill down his spine as the boy turned around to face the pink alien.
Is that, a Saiyan Tail?!
A cold bead of sweat rolled down his chin, his body tense. Aside from Gohan and Goku, Krillin had had not one great interaction with a Saiyan who was not from Earth, and from the power he could feel rolling off this one, he didn't like this situation one bit. He seems more focused on the big guy, not surprising if he is a Saiyan, he'd want to fight the strongest here...
"Seems I was placed in an interesting scenario!" The boy smirked as he crossed his arms at Dodoria who merely scowled back. "Though I thought it'd place me somewhere more challenging, given how powerful I made this avatar. Guess it wants me to warm up with some small fry?" Dodoria growled as the boy chuckled.
"And just who the hell are you?!" Dodoria demanded, pointing a finger at the newcomer. The boy stopped his chuckling and smirked at Dodoria, uncrossing his arms.
"My name? You can just call me... Beat." Beat introduced himself as his Saiyan tail swayed behind him. "And I'm here to put a stop to you, Dodoria!"
"W-What? How did you know my name!?"
Krillin, for the first time since arriving on Planet Namek, let his body relax for just a moment. It seems he was somewhat right, the Saiyan wasn't here for them. "Let's go Gohan, we have to get going while the tables are turned," Krillin called out as he prepared to take off.
Gohan, hesitant turns to his friend. "But, what about the other kid? Shouldn't we try to-"
"Don't you worry about me!" Gohan was interrupted by Beat. Looking back and giving the half Saiyan a thumbs up and smile, "I got this guy, you two go on ahead and we'll meet up later." Gohan couldn't help but stare for a moment, his face a mix of confusion and relief before he powered up and took off with Krillin.
"Krillin, didn't he seem like-"
"You noticed it too huh?" Krillin gave a light smile. "I don't know what to think of it either, but he did remind me of Goku for a moment there."
"Maybe there are more Saiyans like my father out there after all." Gohan spared a glance back as Beat and Dodoria soon became mere specks in the distance as he and Krillin made a mad dash to their hideout where Bulma was waiting.
"Hey get back here!" Dodoria shouted as he powered up attempting to fly after the two. He was stopped, scowling angrily as Beat moved in front of him in an instant. Taking up a battle stance, the young Saiyan flared his ki.
"You're facing me now, don't get distracted!"
Dodoria, still scowling, reached up and tapped his scouter. "Please, as if a runt of a Saiyan like you could possibl- W-Wha-" His eyes widened in confusion as the number on his scouter started climbing as he intended to get a read of the runt's power, only to watch in confused terror as the number got higher and higher, and higher.
10, no 30, wait, 60- The scouter finally stopped, peeping wildly. Dodoria's hand shook, unable to move it as he could not believe his eyes. "O-One hundred and t-twenty thousand?! That's not possible! This damned thing, it must be broken!" Shaking himself out of his terrified state, the left hand of Frieza grabbed the scouter and threw it to the ground, cracking as it landed. Facing the Saiyan once more, the beast of a being began powering up. "I don't know what kind of trick you're pulling, but a brat like you ain't no match for me!"
Dodoria lunged at the smaller alien, determination to crush the lowly Saiyan fueling his power.
His attack fell short as the boy merely vanished, disappearing into seemingly thin air before Dodoria could even reach him.
"Guh?!"
Letting out the wettest gasp, blood flying from his lips, Dodoria could barely manage to look down. Seeing Beat with a fist buried deep into his gut, delivering enough force to nearly make Dodoria's eyes pop out of his head as blood flowed from his mouth as several bones were broken and organs damaged or destroyed.
Beat looked up, a smirk on his face.
What's that? Vegeta stopped his flight as he stared in the direction he had been heading in. Just a moment go an incredible power appeared in the direction he could feel what he believed to be Dodoria chasing two people. But now, now there is something else, fighting him. He clenched his fist, scowling as he tried to get a read of what was going on. He was still new to sensing power levels, or Ki as the Earthlings called it, but sharpening his senses, what he felt gave even him in his newly powered-up state pause. Just what the hell is that? Is it, no it can't be. For a split moment, Vegeta thought it might have been Captain Ginyu, but there was no way he was on this planet, let alone fighting Dodoria of all people. I say fight, but from what I'm sensing it's a one-sided beatdown. Gathering his twits and making a mental note to destroy more scouters when he could - the last thing he needed was for the Ginyu Force to be called in as backup - he resumed his charge toward the current, beatdown.
Despite going as fast as he could, it still took him several minutes to cross to the other side of the planet to fight. By the time he got close, he sensed the greater power eventually break off, leaving Dodoria to run away. Frowning, the Prince of the Saiyans moved to intercept, sensing that Dodoria was making a wild run back to where he could feel Frieza was. Taking high to the sky, he easily caught up to the henchman of Frieza, whoever they were fighting, or surviving, did a real number on the pink alien. Bloodied and bruised, it looked like Dodoria was ready to pass out, only pure fear keeping the being alive as he raced to his master. He was either incredibly lucky to have gotten away, or was shown mercy.
Either way, his luck ends here.
"And where do you think you're going?"
Dodoria, for the second time today, was stopped cold in his tracks. His mouth agape and his battered body trembling as Vegeta appeared before him, floating with arms crossed, a smug smirk on his face.
"V-Vegeta...!"
"What's the matter? Aren't you happy to see me, comrade?" Vegeta couldn't help himself as he gave Dodoria some minor sense of hope, watching the light return to his eyes and body relax. "You've seen better days." He laughed.
"Y-You...!" Dodoria bit back his anger, gulping as he took a breath, clutching his broken right arm. "It's good to see you Vegeta, we weren't expecting to have you here, but maybe you can help..." Dodoria started, "There's another Saiyan here, a little runt, one stronger than even You." He goaded. His words actually got to Vegeta, who lost his smirk and stared at him, eyes narrowed.
"That's impossible," Vegeta scoffed. "As of now only I and the Saiyan on Earth, along with his runt of a son remain as the last Saiyans in the Universe." His statement drew a chuckle from Dodoria.
"I don't know about that Prince," He extended a hand as he explained. "I was chasing two little guys when a young Saiyan appeared, he had a tail and everything. Calls himself Beat."
"His name sounds Saiyan." And isn't the name of Kakarot or his spawn. Vegeta thought.
"And he was powerful, powerful enough to do even this to me." Dodoria swallowed his small pride as he gestured to his beaten body. As much as he didn't want to admit it even just talking to Vegeta, If I can just convince him to go after that brat...! Smirking, he continued. "He might have been a Saiyan raised on this planet, but you should go check it out, I don't have my scouter though, so if you would let me go get a new one for you..."
"Oh, there's no need for that." Vegeta's smirk returned, confusing Dodoria. "Unlike you and the others, I don't need a scouter to tell where others are anymore."
"W, What do you mean- Ah!" Dodoria could only stare in terror as Vegeta got right in front of him in a flash, his smirk turning downright evil.
"What I'm saying, is you're obsolete!" Dodoria could only let out a scream of pain and horror as he was engulfed in a bright golden light as Vegeta, with a single hand, unleashed a powerful energy blast point blank.
"Another Saiyan huh?" Vegeta watched as the remaining dusted Dodoria faded into the wind. "Beat... I don't remember such a name, and if he's young, then he's definitely not from my and Kakarot's time." The Prince frowned in confusion, trying to figure out where this young Saiyan could have come from. "If he really is a Saiyan, that would explain his power, and maybe..."
Powering up, Vegeta shot off, making his way toward the massive power aside from Frieza's. If there was another powerful Saiyan on this planet, then he had to meet him, and if he could, recruit him.
"This is so FUN!~"
Beat laughed as he soared through the air, arms spread as he weaved back and forth between the clouds of Namek.
It had been some time since he had defeated Dodoria in battle and let him go. It had become clear to him that he was too strong for the soldier of Frieza to fight against and had stopped, giving the man a chance at life to flee off the planet. He was here for fun, and who knew, maybe Dodoria would come back later stronger or something.
Man, they really made this game feel as real as possible! Beat grinned as he dove down below the clouds, stopping just above a nearby river and flying above it, watching his reflection follow him, hair swaying with the air he flew through. "It actually feels like I'm IN the universe itself!" Reaching down he drags his finger along the water, watching as the surface parts with his moving form. Gaining a big smile before coming to a sudden stop and blinking.
"Oh yeah! I should try out my other abilities!" Looking around, he closed his eyes and began to concentrate. Furrowing his brows as he tried to sense the world around him. The guide said if I do it like this... ah hah! The darkness he only felt around him suddenly came to life as distant signatures of life and power began to appear all around him.
There are two big ones over there with a small one, that might be Gohan Bulma and Krillin, hmm... He looked around, And there is a biiiiiiig one way over there all by himself, that must be Frieza... Beat could not help but sweat a bit as Frieza's overwhelming power entered his senses, not that he knew it was there, it was impossible to not feel, even on the other side of the planet. And over there is... ah ha! That must be Guru and Nail! Perfect! Surely Guru will have a quest for me.
With a smile, the young Saiyan blasted off towards the Grand Elder of Namek, completely unaware of the fates he has changed.
