It was a sunny morning. The sky was clear of clouds and quiet. That is, until a villain was captured by a giant woman. This was Mt. Lady, who had just made her debut. She gave the crowd an eyeful after her successful capture of a villain. Even though Kamui Woods would be coming for them, she wanted to make a big splash. She adored the attention she was receiving. It made her happy.
When she shrunk back to her normal height, she was greeted by cheers and camera flashes capturing her gorgeous presence. She smiled and waved, reveling in the successful capture of people's attention.
"Thank you all for being here! I'll see you guys again. I must go and capture some more bad guys!" Mt. Lady declared with a smile and a pose before she dashed away.
Death Arms & Kamui Woods rolled their eyes. They can see she just doing the hero's duty for attention. What she doesn't know is there's someone who can help heroes get more attention. The only thing about this particular someone is that if she doesn't play her cards right, her chances in the rankings will plummet down.
They look on at the attention seeking hero before they ran off to do their own duties as heroes. When they left and the small crowd of people dispersed, their was one green head middle schooler. He was chuckling and writing on his journal before he ran off. No one noticed him since the heroes were great distraction. They never saw the kid wearing a hat.
Back with Mt. Lady, she already went into her hero agency called Mt. Agency. It turnout to be a busy afternoon with her job as a hero. She stopped a getaway car from driving off, a man who was stealing woman's purses, and she helped All Might with a slime villain who had a middle schooler as a hostage. Okay that was a lie, she got caught against two buildings and All Might did all the work. So what, she just rebuilt the agency since she destroyed it by her Gigantification quirk, which cause money. She was not going to destroy two buildings to put her money to waist. Besides, Kamui Woods and Death Arms didn't do anything either.
What caught her off guard was someone throwing a backpack at the villain's eyes. She and the other heroes didn't see who it was; that's when All Might quickly jumped in, grabbed the blonde kid, and punched the villain so hard, the weather changed. It kind of made her feel terrible that she didn't do anything and she got outshined by the number one hero. Still, it was all in a day's work, and people still loved her. She wanted to relax in her very large office for the rest of the day.
"Ummm, Takeyama," the pro hero sees her assistant she recently hired peeking her head.
"What is it?" Yu Takeyama asked exhaustively. "I'm trying to relax after that embarrassing moment of getting stuck by two buildings."
"Well, it's just that your 4pm interviewer is here."
"So? It's just some interviewer. Have them rescheduled the interview," Yu didn't not feel like doing any interviews. She still was embarrassed.
"That would by easy, if this interviewer wasn't the guy you requested," the assistant mentioned in worried.
That moment made Mt. Lady froze. She realize who the assistant was talking about. The heroes of Japan were quickly introduced to a recent interviewer. Although the way this guy interviews makes other heroes interviews bland and boring. She didn't want to do it after today's mishap, but this guy was a big deal. She needs to do this interview to boost her status.
"Alright! I'll do!" The hero declared.
The assistant nods her head before she exited out the office. Yu Takeyama clear her throat, fixed her hair, and put on her mask. She smile with a determinate look.
"HOWDY EVERYONE! YOU ARE NOW IN THE HERO RADIO WAVE! With yours truly, PRESENT MIC!"
"Welcome back everyone! There were great tunes we just played here in the hero radio wave, but I know you guys been waiting for this next segment!"
Present Mic press a button on to the soundboard, which starts a sound of a applauses.
"You want to know how the heroes of today have become the heroes you know? Well with our little listener, he has set out to show you that heroes are people too. So here's our beloved hero otaku, Deku!"
Then the hero pressed another button to begin playing the theme song of the segment, known as...
DEKU!
Guitar and drums are tuning.
DEKU!
The chant gets louder.
DEKU!!!
Earlier...
"Hello everyone! We are here at Mt. Agency where our guest is currently at. I can't wait to interview with a new hero making her debut!"
In front of the building was the same green headed middle schooler. This time, he ditched his uniform in favor of a more fanatic look. He was still wearing a hat on his head, but this time he was wearing a All Might long sleeve button shirt, an Eraserhead scarf that covers his lower half of his face, a Gang Orca pants, and red sneakers. In one hand was his camera with a tripod, and on the other hand was a Kamui Woods bag. On his chest was a mic taped, which was close to his collar.
"Mt. Lady has been getting attention for her appearance and effort to save people. Although she's been getting flak for property damages! Let's see how she's doing."
The green little interviewer entered the building, where the assistant was waiting for him. The assistant has never seen the interviewer that many heroes, including her boss, has talked about. So imagine her surprise when she saw a chibi hero otaku with bright green eyes, curly hair sticking the side of the hat, and some freckles on his face, with a camera in his hand.
"Hi miss! I'm here to meet Mt Lady," Deku spoked with sweet enthusiasm. "Is she ready?"
The assistant close her mouth, she wouldn't let herself calling Deku kawaii. She calm down and clear her throat.
"She's ready for the interview."
Deku bow his head before he enter the very large office of Mt. Lady. The heroine was by her desk, looking professional and modest. The hero otaku smiles happily, quickly approaching the hero with the microphone in hand and the camera set up.
"It's nice to finally meet Mt. Lady. It's an honor!" Deku exclaimed.
"Thank you dear! So how are we going to do this?" Mt Lady asked with curiosity.
"Well I ask who you are, discuss your quirk, and fun facts about you. That way, we get a personal look at the newest hero coming in."
Mt. Lady nods her head, agreeing with the arrangement. She watch as Deku set up the camera tripod and checking his microphone. The microphone has many heroes, including the number one hero All Might. She won't be surprised if he was a super fan based on what she was told about this teenager.
"Everything is set! Are you ready for your interview?" Deku asked.
"Yep! Let's get right into!" Mt Lady was hyped up for this chance to look good in public.
For the radio, only audio was recorded. But for HeroTube, the full segment was posted. And it was a pleasure for many hero fans to see their heroes in a personal light. This was a make or break moment for any hero who is interviewed by the hero otaku. If the interview goes well, then the hero will be well liked. But, if the interview shows the false and ugly side of an hero, then that hero will never be popular enough to stay in relevant.
As of now, this interview was focusing on Mt. Lady. Many of her fans adore her, yet it seems there's some people who thinks she's not worth to be a hero. Some cite reasons being too focus on popularity, and others thinks she's useless in different situations. Also, it seems like some of her audience are degenerate who only see her as a sexual object.
With those doubts and reasons, Mt Lady have the chance to be interviewed by Deku, the Hero Otaku.
The Interview:
Titled: Deku, the Hero Otaku vs. Mt. Lady
"Who are you?" Deku asked, now holding the microphone out to her.
"I am Mt. Lady!" she answered with a smile.
"You are Mt Lady!" Deku repeated her answered, this time with his own bright smile. "Thank you for giving me this chance to interview you.
"Oh please, the pleasure is all mine!"
"Mt. Lady, I understand that your quirk is Gigantification. Can you explain what it is exactly & how you use your quirk?"
"Oh honey, why would I tell you if I can show you how my quirk works!"
That's when the Gigantification hero starts to grow in height and size. The hero otaku and the assistant back up to give the now large hero space to move around the office.
So? What do you think, little guy?" she asked with a smug grin and pushed her bosom forward.
"WOW! That's so cool!" Deku shouted with glee.
For a second, it seems like the hero otaku was shining of pure innocence. Mt Lady almost blushed at the sight of that adorable glee. She quickly shrink down to meet the otaku interviewer.
"Is that the highest you ever grow with your quirk, or can you grow any higher?" Deku asked.
"Well, I can grow up to 80 feet tall! I never thought about growing much more than I can."
Deku seems to smile before he pull out something behind him.
"I have gift for you Mt. Lady, I know you're a fan of Marvel films and comics. Especially you're favorite character!"
"Wait, what are you-"
"So here is a wall poster of Cassandra Lang. Also known as Stature!"
In his hands was a poster of the daughter of the fictional hero Ant-Man. And it was as tall as himself, with a black frame around it. On the corner of the poster was two signatures by the creators Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung.
"No way!" Mt Lady reacted with suddenly happiness. "I used to read these comics when I was a kid. How did you know I like Stature!?"
"You're Mt. Lady, we have to know," Deku simply reply with a big smile. "And is it true that you wanted to be called Stature?"
"It's so true!" she said with a giggle. "I wanted that name, but it was copyrighted. So that's why I am Mt. Lady. Maybe another universe I was Stature!" She answered with a pose to the camera.
This was not she was expecting. Getting a gift and happily reminisce about her favorite comic hero. This brings back so much memories. It was a surprise, but a welcome one. She past her gift to her assistant behind the camera.
"I have a second question. Is it true that you wanted to be Ms. Japan?"
That question made Yu Takeyama blush hard in embarrassment.
"W-What can of question is that!? That's-"
"You used to copy covers of a beauty magazine called..."
Even though Deku left the sentence opened, the mountain hero quickly filled in the blank.
"Heroines Beauties! Oh my god!" She quickly stepped back and turn her back away from Deku and the camera. Her assistant was quietly laugh at this funny reaction from her boss.
Yu has never felt this embarrassment in her whole life. She knows she uses her beauty to be popular, but she would never guess that her interviewer would know about her secret preteen interest. She was 12 years old when she started posing like the beautiful heroines on the covers.
"Since you mentioned it, I have another gift for you. Here's the limited edition cover of that magazine, with the R-Rated Hero: Midnight on the cover!"
Yu Takeyama quickly look back at Deku, and saw the second gift she received from him. She always wanted to have the Midnight cover edition of the her favorite magazine. But she didn't have enough money to purchase it since it was a big deal. She remembers when she tried to look as beautiful as the rated R hero, yet her preteen insecurities made her think otherwise. Now, here it was as a gift.
"Mt. L-Lady? Are you-"
Suddenly, the hero otaku just saw darkness and felt arms wrapped around him. He tilted his head to the side to see he was being hugged by the new hero. Deku was blushing being he never had a guest hugging him.
"You have no idea how bad I always wanted this magazine cover. Midnight is one of those heroines that looks good for her age. It might sound disrespectful, but I look up to her beauty! She's was one of my inspiration!"
She let go the hero otaku and grab her second gift. She look at the cover, smiling before she hugs it in glee. She then past that gift to her assistant.
"I-I am happy you like the gift! You can keep it!" Deku implied.
"Thank you, I-I don't know what to say."
"Thanks okay. It's an honor to have meet you Mt. Lady! Before we end this interview, I always asked this to every hero." Deku then pull out what appears to be an old notebook. "Can I get your autograph?"
He opened the notebook and flip the pages quickly before he stop. On the page he stopped at was a page of her, which stunned her. On the page was a beautiful drawing of her with some notes. These notes describe her appears and what her quirks does. That wasn't the only thing that caught her attention. There was also notes of how to improve her quirk. She didn't want to say it out loud since some villain might find out. Still, the notes gave her curiously about how to use her quirk much better. Maybe she can have him intern for her agency. She gave her autograph, which the interviewer was more than pleased to receive.
"And that's where we end our interview. Keep rocking the hero world! And Plus..."
"Ultra!" Mrs. Lady exclaimed before they both posed for the thumbnail. Overall, it wasn't like any interview she had ever done before. And she was glad she did this one.
A/N: Hello there! It's been a while since I last wrote anything. This idea popped into my head and at first, I thought I wouldn't go through with it. However, after giving it some more thought, I decided to write this as a one-shot. I didn't want Izuku to be exactly like Nardwuar, but have the same personality and structure. If this story becomes popular and people want more of Izuku the Hero Otaku, then I can dedicate more time and effort to write more. Hope you enjoy this one and please share your thoughts and opinions.
