I wanna thank and give credit to user RaptorsRtheBest for this wonderful story suggestion.
It had been a while after Gwen and Clarence's engagement and the wedding preparations continue. One day during sunset, Clarence goes on a walk with Gwen through the park to talk about everything that they've been through.
Their relationship with each other throughout their times, their experiences with the cup brothers, Ms. Chalice and other friends of the Inkwell Isles, and adventures grow and develop as they become closer. And their love continues to grow stronger before they are ready for marriage.
Despite the Devil's unrelenting attempts to try to steal Gwen and his intentions to end their relationship; All those and to steal the cups and her friend's souls have been foiled.
However, as both the Gwen and Clarence have proven time and again (along with the help of their friends especially Cuphead, Mugman and Ms. Chalice and their human families of Gwen and Clarence's) that they only love each other and no one - not even the Devil himself - can ever get between their love and have reached the next chapter of their lives to becoming married.
That night, Gwen and Clarence decided to have a date night together after strolling through the park. Lately, Clarence had been curious about Gwen and Ms. Chalice's ghost abilities.
"Hey, Gwen?" Clarence asked.
"Yes, love?" Gwen answered.
"What does it feel like to be a ghost?" Clarence asked.
"Well, you're light as a feather, you're see through, and you don't feel anything." Gwen answered.
"Can you turn into other things too?" Clarence asked.
"Well, I can also turn into a mermaid. I even did that to Rose one other time when we had a beach day together. Other than that, I can turn into a ghost and a mermaid so far." Gwen explained.
"Can you do it to me too?" Clarence asked.
Gwen smiled smugly, then she raised her ink pen and transformed herself and Clarence into ghosts.
Clarence is surprised yet amazed of his body turned into glowing bluish, see-through, floating off the ground and his lower half and legs replaced by a ghostly tail. He noticed Gwen flying around, showing off her ghostly moves.
"Wow, you are so 'boo-tiful'" Clarence jokingly complimented.
"Alright wise guy, now that we're ghosts, wanna learn how to be a ghost?" Gwen asked.
"Oh yes, please." Clarence answered.
Gwen began teaching her fiancé how to be a ghost of shapeshifting into something scary and terrifying, to possess a person and object. Afterwards, Gwen and Clarence have a fun romantic time as ghosts, they use their ghost powers and tricks to do some mischief and scaring, fly into the sky, and sit on the top of a skyscraper to enjoy the serene of the night.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" Gwen asked.
"Oh yeah. I never knew being a ghost could be so much fun." Clarence admitted.
"Mm-hmm. In that case…" Gwen said as she suddenly poked Clarence.
"You're it!" Gwen said and flew off quickly.
"Oh, it's on!" Clarence called.
While they were playfully chasing each other down the dark street, they come across a house that's appears creepy and haunted.
"Ooh. What's this place?" Clarence asked.
"I dunno. It looks like it's haunted." Gwen answered.
Curious, Gwen floats up to the house and enters through the door while Clarence followed. They check around to find anyone or any kind of presence, but to no avail.
"Huh, nobody here." Gwen said.
"I know we're not kids anymore, but let's have some fun before we tie the knot and settle down. Let's play Hide and Seek." Clarence suggested.
"Um… alright. Just one more game, then we'll call it a night." Gwen said, finally giving in.
"I heard you're the best hider, are you not?" Clarence asked.
"Oh, I sure am. Not even the Devil could find me in the last game." Gwen bragged and giggled.
"Okay then, I'll go first. You hide and I'll seek." Clarence said as he turned around and closed his eyes.
"One, two, three, four…" Clarence started the countdown.
Gwen quickly flew off to hide. After quickly searching, she decided to hide in a teapot in the master bedroom.
"Seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty! Ready or not here I come!" Clarence called.
Clarence searched the entire house for Gwen. He enters the master bedroom to locate her, with no success. But just as he was about it go to the next room…
"ACHOO!"
Gwen unintentionally reveals herself by sneezing from the bit of dust in the teapot. Clarence reached into the teapot and pulled her out.
"Bless you. And found you!" Clarence said.
"Thanks dear." Gwen thanked as she grabbed a tissue and blew her nose.
"Okay, my turn to hide." Clarence said.
"Fine." Gwen said as she turned around and closed her eyes.
"One, two, three, four…" Gwen started the countdown.
Clarence flew off to find a hiding spot. He flies down to the first floor when something caught his eye. He sees a single picture above a fireplace of four screaming vulture ladies in a portrait. Clarence slightly laughed at their expressions when he discovered four names below the picture.
"Huh. Is that their names? Belinda, Bedelia, Bonnie, and Boo-Boo." Clarence read out loud.
Thinking it was nothing at first, he flew off to find another hiding spot. Suddenly a glow comes up from behind him and he is attacked.
Meanwhile, back upstairs, Gwen nearly finishes the countdown.
"Seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty! Ready or not, here I come!" Gwen called.
Gwen tries to find her fiancé on the second floor until she suspects he's outside the house, at the backyard. When she flies out, Gwen unexpectedly comes across Cuphead, Mugman and Ms. Chalice (in her ghost form as well).
"Gwen!" All three cups called.
"Guys! What are you doing here?" Gwen asked.
"Lookin' for you girl! We saw you and handsome entering that haunted house!" Ms. Chalice answered.
"You weren't supposed to go in there!" Mugman added.
"What? Why not?" Gwen asked.
"You see…"
Cuphead explained the time he and Mugman and Ms. Chalice came here to earn money for ice cream. It was the very house that they accidentally freed the spirits of the Birnbaum Quadruplets. They tried to trap them within their portraits and keep them there for the next century so that they can be free. But by midnight, anybody who's still in the portrait will stay there for the next century.
Gwen's eyes widened at the story.
"Oh my gosh! Clarence is in there!" Gwen exclaimed.
They quickly run inside the house and head to the fireplace to find Clarence trapped in the portrait.
"Oh no! Clarence is trapped in the portrait!" Gwen exclaimed.
Just then, the group hears four ghostly female voices laughing. The Birnbaum Quadruplets reveal themselves to the group.
"That's right my dear! We've been trapped in that portrait for a long time!" Belinda said.
"You see, your dear fiancé spoke our names and we were set free." Bedelia said.
"So, we took the liberty of trapping him in the portrait." Bonnie said.
"And when midnight strikes, he'll be trapped for a century, and we'll be free!" Boo-Boo finished.
All four ghosts laugh evilly.
Gwen grabbed her ink pen, ready for a fight.
"No! I won't let you get away with this!" Gwen bravely yelled.
Upon seeing the cups who had imprisoned them before, the sisters want revenge on them for having the four of them stuck in the same portrait.
"You cups again! We're gonna enjoy our sweet revenge on you for trapping us!" Belinda yelled.
"You let my fiancé out of that portrait right now!" Gwen yelled.
The four sisters laugh at Gwen as she floated feeling insulted.
"Oh, we couldn't possibly. It's our turn to go out into the world and have fun like you two were doing!" Belinda said.
"Do you have any idea what it's like to be trapped in the same house with your sibling day in and day out?!" Bedelia angrily asked.
"Oh, speak for yourself!" Bonnie scolded.
Gwen thought for a moment and realized something.
"Actually yes. I do know what that's like. I grew up in the same house with my older sister. We both had our moments and then when I moved in with the cups, I occasionally get annoyed with them. But Rose and I have a stronger, loving relationship as I have a sibling bond with my cup brothers even though we're not related. Our love and bond is stronger than yours!" Gwen bravely explained.
"Well good for you! 'Cause whoever's in the painting at the stroke of midnight stays trapped for the next 100 years!" Bedelia said.
Gwen looked at the grandfather clock and realized that they have four minutes before Clarence is trapped for the next century.
"Bring it on you old hags!" Gwen bravely said as she struck a fighting pose.
Determined and angry, Gwen uses her magic ink pen to make three new portraits to trap the ghosts again to free her fiancé. She used telekinesis to lift the portrait Clarence was trapped in and managed to trap Belinda first, thus freeing Clarence.
"Clarence!" Gwen happily said as she hugged him.
"Gwen! I was attacked by four vulture ghosts while I looking for a hiding spot!" Clarence exclaimed.
"I know, the cups told me everything! Now help me trap those vulture ghosts in the paintings!" Gwen instructed.
Clarence took a painting and prepared to attack.
Just then, both groups then fight over of who gets to be trapped. Before three out of the four portraits get destroyed (again). The battle ends with Gwen and this time with her freed fiancé trapping all four of the quadruplets within the last portrait before midnight strikes, and thus, traps the Quadruplets once more again for another century.
The humans and cups sigh of relief, once again saving themselves from the Birnbaum Quadruplets. Gwen hangs the portrait back above the fireplace.
"Hey guys? Thanks for saving me from being stuck in the portrait. I tell ya that is not how a picture of me screaming would look like." Clarence said.
The cup brothers and Ms. Chalice take notice of Clarence's ghost form and are marveled of him.
"Wow, lookin' good as a ghost handsome!" Ms. Chalice complimented.
"What were you guys doing out here being ghosts?" Cuphead asked.
"Well, I wanted to experience what's it like being a ghost and use that on our date together. But accidentally freeing four evil ghosts and threatened to be trapped in a picture for a hundred years wasn't part of our date night. Regardless, I had the best and thrilling time of being a ghost and trapping four nasty spirits with my fiancée by my side." Clarence explained as he wrapped his arm around Gwen.
"Hey Gwen?" Clarence asked.
"Yes love?" Gwen answered.
"Thanks for the best and spook-tacular time on our ghost date night and for you and the cups coming to save me. But the next time we go on a ghostly date; we must stay away from haunted places from now on." Clarence said.
"Oh, no question." Gwen agreed.
Then Cuphead notices his piggy bank that he, Mugman and Ms. Chalice lost the first time they defeated the Quadruplets. But he accidentally spills some of the money.
"Cuphead? Where did you get that money?" Gwen asked suspiciously.
"Well…"
Cuphead confesses that they got the money from their scam of Ghost Removers as they collected the spilled money.
"Wait a minute that explains why you had that net that day! I'm very disappointed in you three for scamming people!" Gwen scolded.
Clarence shook his head, also feeling disappointed in them that they turn away with their arms crossed.
"We're sorry Gwen!" Cuphead apologized.
"We'll never do something like that ever again!" Mugman added.
"Especially ones that'll endanger us with real ghosts!" Ms. Chalice added.
Gwen gives Clarence a secret mischievous smile. Clarence catches on and smiles.
"Well, we'll forgive you guys…" Gwen said.
"Yay!" The three cups cheered.
"On one condition." Clarence added.
"What? We told you we'll never do it again." Cuphead asked.
"Nope. This." Gwen said.
Gwen and Clarence turn to give out horrifying and scary faces. The three cups screamed and flee for their lives in fear, leaving the house and leaving imprints (only Cuphead and Mugman) of themselves on the doors while Ms. Chalice flies through the wall.
The couple laugh at their last scare before Gwen transforms them both back into humans.
They leave the house and Gwen uses the ink pen to board up the doors and windows to prevent another unsuspecting person from finding the portrait of the villainous ghosts, to release them and becoming trapped in the painting.
"There. I don't want anyone else going through what we went through." Gwen said.
"Amen to that." Clarence agreed.
Then she and Clarence leave to head home.
"Hey Gwen?" Clarence asked.
"Yeah?" Gwen answered.
"I wonder what I'd look like as a merman next time we go to the beach." Clarence asked.
"Oh, that'll come soon as long as we don't swim into trouble." Gwen jokingly said.
Both humans laugh as they approached the cottage. They both give each other a kiss then Clarence stepped through the door portal to his apartment and Gwen turned into a ghost and flew into her bedroom. She turns back into a human, gets ready for bed and went straight to sleep, happy to get through another ghostly ordeal with her friends.
