A week later, Luz was meditating outside... no, she was not on the ground, she was literally floating a good four feet off the ground surrounded in a black aura, when King walked by. Luz opened an eye and looked at him carrying a basket inside.
'Okay, my dark mediation can wait, I need to see what he's doing.'
Luz floated to the ground and walked to the house, her dark aura fading away in the wind.
"Maybe it's an offering from one of my admirers. I am pretty famous in the wild magic community." Eda said with a grin.
"Or maybe it could be for Luz? An offering for her to be merciful?" King said.
"Ahahahahahahaha! Good joke." Luz laughed.
"Well, only one way to find out."
Eda pulled on the blanket covering it, revealing a bat. Luz put her hands up.
"I don't eat babies, and I'm too young to be a mother, so that is NOT my offering." Luz said, walking to the other side of the room.
"A baby? Ugh, witches stopped eating babies in the 1600s!" Eda said, crossing her arms.
King pulled out a note.
"Please look after my baby while I run errands, yiyi?" King read.
"Babysit? Eda the Owl Lady is nobody's babysitter." Eda said, turning her head away.
Luz looked at the note in King's hands and saw the person that signed it.
"Hey, who's the Bat Queen?"
"Bat Queen? As in "the richest demon on the Boiling Isles" Bat Queen?" Eda asked before she suddenly checked the basket.
She smiled widely as she pulled out some snails, already excited about being paid for this.
"So she's rich and she asked you to babysit her kid?" Luz asked, looking at the baby and saw a glimpse of a bat wing.
"Oh yeah, kid! And if you do a favor for someone like her, you could practically be set for life if you cash in on that favor right!" Eda said, putting the snails in her pocket, "Speaking of favors."
Eda made a spell circle and a stack of books fell into Luz's arms, not that it did anything to shake her, she was incredibly strong.
"I need you to return these to the library for me." Eda said, before whispering to King, "I don't want her to get a cut of the loot."
"You know I can hear a pin drop from over a mile away, right?" Luz asked.
"I did NOT know that actually but you still aren't getting a cut." Eda said as King took out some snails himself.
"So you wanna be like that? Fine. But don't come crying to me when you can't handle taking care of a demon baby." Luz said as she walked to the front door. "Or if Hooty eats him."
Luz closed the door, just in time for her to hear loud crying and Eda's cry.
"LUZ!"
"Huh... must be hearing things." Luz said, smiling.
Luz carried all of the books with one hand as she walked to the library, leaving Eda to learn her lesson on her own. She arrived at the library and smiled. She walked up the steps and opened the door. She walked into the library and the books suddenly started floating away from her. She looked at the library worker at the front desk.
"Late. Late. Late." He said, as each book went through the spell circle.
He grabbed one.
"Coffee, grass, and bloodstains? These are Eda's, aren't they?"
"The demon girl that's known to be near her at all times walks in with books she's never checked out." Luz said, "Take a guess."
The librarian gave Luz a blank stare, surprisingly not afraid of her.
"Right. I'll just add them to Eda's tab." He said, pulling out a list as long as an arm, "Anyway, we're closing early for the wailing star tonight."
"A wailing star?" Luz asked.
"That." The librarian said, pointing to a poster on the wall behind him. "If you wish to know about it, please just respectfully read a book. This is a library after all."
"Fine." Luz said.
'I don't sense fear from him but I do sense a LOT of Sloth. I'm sort of impressed that a man could not care about certain things yet still be so dedicated.' Luz thought.
And off Luz went. She was excited yet curious to see what, exactly, this demon realm library had to offer. It was admittedly a lot smaller than the one in her dad's castle, but still fun. Even the living cabinets were fun too, spending a few minutes tickling the cabinets and making them chuckle out all of their organization cards. She looked around a little, seeing a couple students go pale as she walked past them. Luz stopped, recognizing one of them.
"Hello, Cat was it?" Luz asked, grinning, "How'd the conjuring go?"
"I-i-it went... okay." Cat said, putting her face in a book to hide
Luz pulled the book away and looked her in the eyes.
"Well, I'm sure you've seen how my conjuring went... so next time Boscha tries to give Willow shit, remind her, we moved a house, I have no problem showing her what happened INSIDE." Luz said, talking about the slaughter she did, "Got it?"
"Y-y-yes... your royal demoness." Cat said.
Luz handed Cat her book back.
"Don't be nervous, I'm not going to hurt you." Luz said, "In fact, I'd like to get to know you and your little group at some point."
Luz tapped Cat's nose and walked away. Cat's eyes rolled back in her head and she passed out from fear. Luz paid no attention, and kept walking. She walked past the Children's Corner when she heard a familiar voice.
'Well, it would be rude to not give Amity a small kiss while I'm here.' Luz thought.
She went in and saw Amity reading to kids. Amity felt a familiar feeling on her wrist and went pale, but didn't stop reading, not wanting to worry the kids.
'Just keep reading. Just keep reading.' Amity thought as she continued to read the book to them.
Luz watched.
'Aw, how cute.' Luz thought.
This was a new side to Amity, a sweet and nice side that enjoyed reading to the kids and making them happy. Luz could feel herself warm at seeing her like this, and not a demonic warmth but a normal warmth from looking at a cute picture.
"And that is the end." Amity said with a smile, ending the book.
"N-now go wait for your parents to arrive... while I put the book away." Amity said, closing the book.
The kids got up and ran to another part of the library. Amity turned to put the book away, yelping in fear and surprise as Luz was suddenly behind her, as opposed to the entrance to the children's area. In Luz's hand was her Demon Tome.
"So, Amity, this is an interesting side to you." Luz said, "Never expected something like this from you."
"W-w-what are you doing here?" Amity asked, holding the children's book to her chest, "Are... are you here to cash in the favor... or are you here for my soul?"
"Don't worry, Blight, your soul is safe... as long as I have that favor." Luz said, taking Amity's hand and giving it a kiss, "After all, my dad once said that if you have nothing in life but a favor, you have everything in life."
Luz winked at Amity, making her blush as her heart was beating faster than before. And not out of fear.
"O-Okay. T-then why a-are you here?" Amity asked.
"Eda's overdue books. And after that, curiosity's sake." Luz said as she walked into the children's area.
"You're surprisingly good with children." Luz said, "I'll keep that in mind, a princess will become queen, and a queen will need an heir."
A small stream of blood fell from Amity's nose.
'Why does she keep saying things like this?! My brain is gonna be mush before I graduate!' Amity thought.
"I-It mainly started as extra credit, b-but I found myself loving the job." Amity stuttered truthfully.
"Aw, how sweet." Luz said, wiping the blood off Amity and tasting it, "Just like your blood."
Amity blinked at this, blushing so brightly that she forgot to breathe and took a quick breath to live.
"HUH! HUH! HUH! HUH!" Amity huffed and puffed to regain her breath.
As if this couldn't get any worse for Amity.
"Oh, Mittens, is this your girlfriend?"
Amity snapped her head towards the entrance, feeling her soul dying inside of her body as two older witches stood before them.
'Okay, they're probably twins.' Luz thought.
"She's not my girlfriend!" Amity shouted at them.
"Not yet, I'm not." Luz said with a grin.
"Luz!" Amity shouted at her, blushing.
"And who are you two, if you don't mind me asking?" Luz asked the twins.
"Emira and Edric, Amity's older siblings." Emira said as they walked up to the duo.
"And the ones who make sure she doesn't go hungry." Edric joked, holding up a pink bunny lunch box.
Luz held in a chuckle.
"Mom says you need to stop forgetting your lunch when you leave in a rush." Edric said, holding the lunchbox out to Amity.
"Mom says a lot of things." Amity muttered before taking the lunch. "Thanks, now please leave. It's already too much that Luz is here."
"Awww, you don't like me being here with you, my little mittens?" Luz asked, scratching Amity's chin.
Amity had half a mind to bite that finger... the other half reminded her that Luz would probably be into that.
"Awww, adorable! Seriously, Mittens, how is she not your girlfriend?" Emira asked before winking at Luz. "Cuz if you don't want her, I'll take her."
"Bitch, you couldn't handle me." Luz said.
"Beg pardon?" Emira asked suddenly.
"Oh boy." Edric said, knowing what this would lead to.
"Um, Emira, do you KNOW who Luz is?" Amity asked as she slowly pushed Luz's finger away from her chin. "Or what she is?"
"Please, my ex was WAY worse than her." Emira said.
"Emira... she's a literal demon." Amity said, "She nearly took my soul."
"Amity, this is the DEMON realm. At least half the population is a demon." Emira said, not impressed.
"Wait, what was that about your soul?" Edric asked.
"Hehehehe, fun fact. Earth has demons too, MUCH worse demons in a place where very bad people go when they die called "Hell." And guess what?" Luz asked as her eyes glowed red and her teeth sharpened. "My dad is the king."
The twins leaned back as Luz got close. Luz inhaled deeply and smiled.
"You two smell like mischief... oh, I like you."
'Oh titan, no! Not this!' Amity thought as she felt her heart stop.
The thought of these three working together in pranks and chasing chaos was a nightmare, not just to her but to everyone!
"Come on, let's go pull pranks." Luz said.
The twins nodded nervously and walked out of the children's corner, while Luz turned around and winked at Amity, and not in a flirtatious way, this wink confused Amity.
'W-w-what is she planning?'
Amity decided she would quickly put the books away and clean up the children's area before heading to follow Luz and her siblings. The twins were setting up pranks to pull, such as putting a paint bomb in with the books. Luz was behind them and smirked, before snapping her fingers, making the paint bomb go off in their hands, only covering them in paint.
"Yikes! Was that supposed to happen?" Luz asked innocently.
The next prank was to try and switch two working librarians to confuse the Patrons. The twins needed to get this done or else it would be bad. They made a spell circle, but Luz just so happened to be looking through her book behind them and caused their spell to switch Emira and Edric's bodies instead.
"Huh?" The twins said, realizing they didn't move from their spot or did that?
"Something wrong, guys?" Luz asked, looking up from her tome.
Edric looked down and realized that he was NOT in his body.
"What the Hex?!" Edric said in shock, looking at HER hands.
"Ed? What's-huh?!" Emira asked as she looked at HERSELF in surprise.
"Hmm, did you guys mess up the spell?" Luz asked, holding her smirk.
"Hey!"
The three turned around and saw Amity, with two librarians next to her. A couple minutes later, the three of them were pushed out of the library.
"There will be no horseplay in the library! Do not come back." The librarian said to them.
"You honestly think that will stop me?" Luz asked him.
The door slammed shut and Luz just glared.
"Dick."
"Well, that escalated quickly." Emira in Edric's body said, "But we aren't done yet."
"Uh, what?" Luz asked.
"You see, we have a certain book that we need to check out." Edric in Emira's body said, "And it's not for my secret love of Healing."
"Meet us back here tonight." Emira said, "Come on, Ed, let's go find a way to switch back."
They two walked off, while Luz stayed behind.
"Hey."
Luz turned around and saw Amity.
"What, you going to try and get me arrested for trespassing now?" Luz asked.
"What were they talking about?" Amity asked.
"That they needed to get a book tonight."
"That doesn't mean anything good." Amity said, looking pale, "They usually prank me with something, but as much as I hate it, they're my siblings... can you do me a favor?"
"Now you're speaking my language." Luz said, holding her hand out, coated in fire, "What kind of favor?"
Amity pushed Luz's hand away.
"This... I don't want to make any more deals with you." Amity said, "Just... make sure they don't do anything too stupid."
"Don't worry, I got you, Sweetie."
Luz gave Amity a kiss on the cheek, making her blush massively, which Luz loved.
"Would you stop that?!"
"Nope!"
Luz walked away and back to the Owl house.
'I wonder if Emira and Edric will actually be able to switch back since my magic is different?' Luz thought with a shrug. 'I also wonder how Eda is dealing with the bat baby while I was gone?"
And she got her answer when she opened the door and saw Eda rocking the baby.
"Aw, you look so motherly!" Luz taunted.
"Say that again and I'll cut out your tongue." Eda said.
You would think Eda would stop saying stuff around her. Luz opened her book, pulled out a knife, and extended her tongue out of her mouth. Eda looked shocked as Luz's forked tongue came out at a whopping 4 feet long. Luz then cut it off with a quick slice. Luz grew a new one almost instantly.
"Here, you can cook it or wear it as a scarf, whatever you do with tongues." Luz said.
Luz tossed her cut tongue to Eda, which was caught by King.
"Eh!" King screamed as he dropped the long tongue.
"Jeez, you guys act like you haven't touched a freshly cut tongue before." Luz said, rolling her eyes and looking at the baby, "So, what else have you done since I left?"
"Basically just endured the baby screaming for hours on end." Eda said blankly.
"That is until Eda held it like she is now." King said.
"Really? You spent hours enduring its glass breaking screams and didn't think to hold it to calm him down?" Luz asked.
"I'm not a motherly gal, okay? I'm lucky that King turned out as good as he did." Eda said, rocking the bat baby a bit.
"Well, you have to admit, he is pretty cute." Luz said, tickling the baby a bit.
That caused the baby to throw up two more smaller bats... much to the horror of the three of them. The three began to fly and create chaos.
"Well, motherhood looks very rewarding." Luz said, grabbing her bag and heading for the door, "Look at the time, I'm needed somewhere else!"
Luz ran out of the house before Eda could call for her help.
'A baby spawned a baby which then spawned a baby, does that make the original baby a father and grandfather or just an older brother?' Luz thought.
Hearing the destruction the babies caused, Luz suddenly felt bad for everything she did when her mom would watch her after her powers came in.
'You know, I'm starting to understand why Hitler was in charge of watching me so much... guy just loves destruction.' Luz thought.
'Eda will be fine, I can tell she's escaped death multiple times !' Luz's demon side said.
'I hate to say it but they're right. Besides you need to focus on keeping your promise to Amity and stopping her siblings.' Luz's angel side said.
"Yeah, Yeah, I'm going."
Luz rolled her eyes as she continued to the library but stopped when she saw a food stand along the way.
"Well, nothing wrong with stopping for a meal, right? I don't need to be there for about an hour or so." Luz said, licking her lips.
She checked the sins of the person working there and smiled.
"Perfect."
Later, Emira and Edric arrived at the Library, still in each other's body, and found Luz... with dried blood on her mouth and clothes.
"Hey guys. Am I early?" Luz asked, wiping her lips clean.
"No…..but is that blood or ketchup?" Emira quickly asked as "he" pointed to Luz's shirt.
"Or is it both?" Edric asked.
Luz shrugged, she wouldn't tell them.
"So, how do we get inside?" Luz asked, "I'd rip the door off, but I feel like that would be a little obvious."
"Uh…..we can handle that." Edric said as "she" pulled out a paper scroll and unrolled it. "This should alter the size of the lock enough for all of us to walk in without showing damage, but it will only last a few seconds."
"A few seconds is more than enough. Plus, that sounds very useful." Luz said as she pulled out her phone and took a picture. "Save that for later."
She put it back in her pocket as the twins walked up and used the scroll. Just as they said, once on the door, the scroll glowed and faded into the lock hole to make it expand to the size of the library doorway!
"Cool."
"Yeah. But hurry, it will only last a few seconds." Edric said as they quickly walked into the keyhole.
Once inside the library, the keyhole shrank back to normal and made it seem like the door was never tampered with. The perfect spell for breaking and entering without breaking a thing.
"So, what do you two need to do? Find a book to swap yourselves back?" Luz asked, trying her hardest to suppress her grin.
Before either twin could answer, they heard the sound of loud weeping and light flashing before they looked up to the stain glass above.
"The Wailing Star!" Edric said, pointing up to it.
As the twins looked at that, Luz noticed that books, including her Demon Tome, were glowing.
"Hey, check this out." Luz said, looking at her book. "My book is glowing, along with the others."
"Doesn't it always glow?" Emira asked.
"Not when it's closed." Luz said before looking at the bookshelves. "I think the Wailing Star did something to them."
Deciding it was best to NOT use her magical glowing book filled with things that could make a mortal's mind break just by looking at it, during an event that is clearly magical, she went to one of the other books on the shelf.
"History of the Baking Coven." Luz said, reading the title before she opened the book.
'Please involve hearts.' Luz thought, opening the book.
Glowing even more, the book pushed something out as Luz watched in awe.
'Oh shit!' She thought, nearly dropping the book as the thing coming out crushed her.
Edric and Emira gasped, seeing a giant cake had just crushed Luz!
Luz picked it up and pushed it off of her.
"Well, that's never happened before." Luz said, dusting frosting off, "Wonder how it tastes."
The twins looked at each other before they walked to the giant cake, slowly reaching out and taking a chunk out of it.
"Not bad." Edric said.
"Yeah, it's pretty good." Emira said, eating some of the cake.
"So the Wailing Star allows whatever is in the books to come to life?" Luz questioned, looking at the other books.
"I guess so." Edric said, smiling as she glanced at Emira. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
Emira nodded and grabbed a book of fashion and opened it, covering her and Edric. Emira was put in a fancy suit, one that was white with a black shirt and white tie, along with black sunglasses, a solid gold watch with black dial, and white fedora. Edric was in a fancy dress, it was a dark green ballroom style gown, with sparkles and sequins, as well as lots of frills, Edric's hair... well, technically Emira's hair... was done up in a bun, with makeup covering Edric's face as well as give him earrings and a diamond necklace.
"We may be in each other's bodies, but I make this look good." Edric said.
"I guess but only I could pull off a suit like this." Emira said, straightening the jacket.
"Okay, ladies. You're both pretty, now let's see what other fun we can have with these." Luz said, grabbing a weapons magazine and opening it.
Luz was suddenly donned in warrior armor, like from an RPG game, with a giant sword on her back and all.
"Cool. I especially like the giant sword." Luz said, looking at the large weapon.
She grabbed it and swung it.
The wind slashed around her, destroying the cake and closing the book it came from. The mess vanished a second later as Luz put the blade on her shoulder.
"So by closing the books, we put what comes out back." Luz said with a nod.
"Yeah." Edric said, grabbing the skirt of his dress, "Don't really want to close this one honestly, I like this dress."
"Me too with this suit. I might have to find one exactly like this after tonight." Emira said.
"If you two like being like that so much, why don't you just stay in each other's body." Luz said, closing the book, "So, what else are you here for?"
The twins glanced at each other, the thought of staying in each other's bodies had come across their minds but weren't brave enough to talk about yet. Not with their mission at hand.
"Follow us, it should be this way." Emira said as he led the way to the book.
They lead her to the romance section.
'Okay, are they going to try and fuck me? Because I will murder them if they try.' Luz thought, remembering the last time she was in a romance section and one demon in hell tried it when was younger in her dad's library.
... Didn't happen, but her dad was NOT happy about how close that demon got to raping Luz... Luz doesn't know what happened to him, but she does remember a lot of screaming and her dad's suit was COATED in blood. Thankfully, Emira grabbed one of the books and pulled it out, making a hidden door open.
"A hidden room in a library? Cliche classic but I'm not complaining. My underworld home has a few." Luz said as they walked inside.
"So, is this your room or something?"
"No, this is Amity's secret hideout." Edric said.
"Amity has a secret hideout here?" Luz asked, turning towards them.
"Apparently it came with the job, but, whatever." Edric said with a shrug. "What we're looking for is here, so let's start looking."
"And what are we looking for?"
"Her diary." Emira said.
Luz froze.
"What?" Luz asked, "Why would you want that?!"
The twins were surprised by this but didn't think much about it.
"Well, you probably don't know this, but Mittens is too uptight sometimes and she keeps ratting us out whenever we cut class at school." Emira said, gesturing between himself and Edric.
"So we're gonna help her loosen up and her diary is the key." Edric said as she patted Luz's back, "We're going to spread it all over the school."
Luz grabbed that hand and twisted it enough to cause pain.
"No, you're not going to loosen her up, you're going to ruin her life." Luz said, "And NOBODY messes with MY Amity."
Luz shoved her and she hit the shelf out of the room. A book fell off and opened, but Luz didn't notice.
"If you do this… I will kill you."
Edric and Emira shook as Luz's eyes turned blood red, showing how serious she was and how angry she could get over someone hurting her Amity.
"This isn't a big-"
"Shut up." Luz growled, making Emira's mouth shut against his will, "What you two are doing is despicable, and downright horrible!"
The twins held each other in fear as the demonic girl walked closer to them.
"If you EVER try and touch Amity's diary, I will find you." Luz said.
"They tried to do what?"
Luz turned and saw Amity standing there.
"Mittens?!/Amity?" Edric/Luz in shock/surprise.
"What were they trying to do?" Amity asked, directed at Luz.
"They were going to spread your diary across the school." Luz said.
"WHAT!?" Amity yelled, "You... you... assholes!"
Amity reached over and grabbed a book with a hand drawn cover.
'Wait, is that Amity dressed as Azura?' Luz thought, 'Does she also like Azura?'
And just like that, Luz found Amity even MORE attractive. Suddenly, the ground shook, making Amity stop cursing out the twins for a minute. Amity looked over and saw the book on the ground.
'Oh no.' She thought, 'That book was put on the high shelf for a reason.'
The book in question was heavily damaged and vandalized, drawings of horrific monsters were in it. One in particular was the most terrifying. From behind Amity, rose a dark cloaked figure, with a sharp scythe. It raised its scythe and swung at Amity, only for it to be blocked by Luz's katana.
"Amity, go!" Luz said.
Amity jolted from being frozen and rushed out the room!
"You two as well! Get your asses out of here!" Luz shouted at the switched twins.
The two followed Amity, while the cloaked figure pushed Luz back and slashed at Luz.
"Your soul is mine!" It said, cutting through Luz.
Luz just chuckled and healed. Her eyes become red again and her claws come out.
"Sorry... I don't have a soul."
Luz rushed the figure, while Amity was breathing heavily and leaning against a bookshelf. Suddenly, she was grabbed, and immediately tried fighting.
"Let go of me!"
"Amity, calm down, it's us!" Edric said.
"Emira?"
"Uh... not quite." Edric said, before hearing a loud bang, "We need to get out of here."
"No, not without Luz." Amity said.
"What? Why?! She'll be fine! She's practically invincible!" Emira said, grabbing Amity's arm. "Come on, let's get out of here!"
"No!" Amity said, pulling her arm back.
"Why are you being so stubborn about this?" Edric asked.
"Because she's the only one I can trust!" Amity said, snapping at them, "She tried to take my soul, has embarrassed me since I first met her, and has gotten me in trouble... but she has also shown that she cares more about me in the past two weeks than you two have in years!"
The twins dropped their jaws at this, completely shocked by this.
'How could Amity say that?! That's not true!' The twins thought before they tried to find a memory to prove Amity wrong.
The most recent memory of them being good siblings? When Amity was 7.
'7 years! That can't be right!' The twins thought, trying again to find a more recent memory.
Amity looked mad.
"You can't think of anything can you?" Amity asked, "Seven years! That's how long you guys have pranked me, humiliated me... hurt me."
Amity felt tears form and looked at the ground.
"Everything you've done to me has hurt me, I'm mentally exhausted, from school, trying to please our parents, dealing with your pranks." Amity said, starting to cry uncontrollably, "The literal demon girl has become the first real friend I've had in years! She doesn't care who I am, she doesn't care about my family name, she just sees me for who I am!"
Emira and Edric shared a look.
"Who are you?" Emira asked.
"If you have to ask that... then you have no business being my siblings." Amity said, sniffling, "Just go... I have to help my friend."
Amity turned and ran back to help Luz. Speaking of Luz, the other creations from the book had come out, and they were actually giving Luz a run for her money. The cloaked figure slammed his scythe into Luz's chest, while another creature slammed its large club into her, slinging her off the scythe and into the shelf. Luz hit the ground and looked at the six different creatures.
The first was no different than what most people thought of a grim reaper, a flowing black hooded robe and a scythe in hand with glowing red eyes under the hood.
The second was a werewolf out of horror movies, dark black fur with glaring blue eyes and dried blood on its claws and fur.
The third was a winter wraith, a ghost-like being of pure cold and ice with a white robes, long white hair, and a pale body that had long inhuman nails.
The fourth was a large and hulking swamp monster, a living plant being with sickly green eyes and a mossy body.
The fifth was also a plant monster but more feminine, a death dryad that was the shortest but just as deadly as it twitched and showed her sharp teeth.
The sixth and final monster looked to be related to Anubis, the Egyptian god of death, but female and wielding two sharp khopesh blades.
'Who ever decided to draw these inside that book... I really need to see if they could come work for me.' Luz thought, as she picked herself up and readied her Katana.
Luz honestly thought these were the scariest and coolest monsters she had seen on both Earth and the demon realm, but that wasn't needed right now as the dryad jumped at her!
"RAAAAAH!" She screamed, shooting splinters at Luz.
Luz opened her book and quickly pulled out a shield. The splinters impaled the shield before Luz knocked the dryad away!
"Well, if there's one thing I know about plants, is that they're very flammable!" Luz said, holding a fireball in her hand.
She threw the fireball but the swamp monster jumped in front of the dryad, protecting it while burning alive.
"Fine, I'll burn you as well!"
Luz charged at it with her katana catching fire before the werewolf slashed at her, making her block with her shield!
"RAAAH!" It roared as it kept attacking, making Luz continue to block.
The Winter Wraith quickly moved behind Luz, preparing to freeze her to death. Luz turned her head 180 degrees just in time to see it try and attack. Luz dodged and finished the 360 head turn. She flipped backwards to avoid the Wrath, but the Reaper was able to swing its scythe and it went right through Luz's back and the blade popped out of Luz's chest.
"GUH!" Luz coughed up tons of blood.
"Death comes for all." The Reaper said.
"Bitch, Death is my uncle!" Luz shouted, glaring her power and blasting the Reaper away. "But thanks for the weapon!"
She swung the scythe at the werewolf, trying to kill it, only for it to dodge with ease. "RUH!" Female Anubis roared as she jumped at Luz.
The Anubis swung its blades, but Luz used the scythe to block them. Luz spun the scythe all around, making the monsters move back.
'This room is too crowded! I need more space!' Luz thought as she held the scythe firmly.
She delivered a kick to the shelf, knocking them down like dominos. Luz cracked her neck and swung the scythe, only for the anubis to break it in two. The broken scythe disappeared and Luz put her fists up.
"Bring it on, fuckers." Luz said.
The werewolf charged, but was stopped by a wall of abomination goo.
'Huh?!' Luz thought in surprise.
"Leave her alone!" Amity shouted, holding her hand out with a spell circle.
"Amity!? What are you doing here!" Luz said, "I told you to get away!"
"Not going to happen!" Amity said.
Badly burned, the swamp monster roared at Amity and rushed to attack!
'Oh no you don't!' Amity thought, drawing a second spell circle.
A fence-like barrier appeared between them, and the Swamp Monster ran into it. The reaper reached over to Amity, only for Luz to grab it and force it back.
"Touch her, and I'll show you what true death looks like."
Luz opened her book and pulled out a brand new weapon, a jagged buster blade with a black thorn handle.
'Yep, I'm going to have fun with this.' Luz thought.
Luz charged at the monsters and slashed, missing Reaper, Winter Wraith, and Female Anubis but the Dryad wasn't lucky as it was decapitated!
'That's one down!' Luz thought before hearing a scream.
She turned around to see the Swamp Monster was ignited with magenta fire while the fence shield was wrapped around him to keep him trapped. Luz decided that a little red would make the magenta look a bit better. She held two red fireballs in her hands and threw them at the monster. The Swamp Monster screamed even louder as the fires combined, becoming a deep and furious pink blaze that reduced it to ash in seconds!
'That makes two dead, one restrained!' Luz thought happily as she quickly burned the Dryad's body.
'3 monsters to go!' Amity thought, glancing at the remaining ones.
They turned their attention away from the demon and to the witch. They charged. Amity screamed as they almost reached her, but they were stopped by a barrier. Amity opened her eyes and saw the Twins.
"Stay away from her!" Edric shouted.
"Emira? Edric?" Amity said in shock, "W-w-what are you-"
"We're doing something we should've done a long time ago." Emira said, "Protecting you!"
The twins forced the shield forward, knocking the monsters back. The werewolf growled as it broke free and charged. Edric smirked.
"You got this?" Edric asked Emira.
Emira cracked her neck.
"Easily." Emira said, knowing a lot about beast keeping.
Emira stepped forward and drew a spell circle, shutting his eyes and opening them to show a gold glow. The Werewolf stopped before Emira as their eyes met, remaining still as its blue eyes slowly turned gold. Emira was now in control of it.
"Attack them." Emira said, cracking his knuckles.
The werewolf turned and charged at the remaining monsters.
"ROOOOAH!" It roared before tackling the Winter Wraith!
It bit down on its neck, trying to kill it.
"Yeah!" Emira said, "Kill it!"
The Wraith screeched as it grabs the Werewolf, trying to freeze it to death before it rips out their neck!
"Don't let go!" Emira shouted at his new pet.
The wraith began to freeze it, just as the werewolf finished it off, both dying at the same time. Emira was knocked back as his spell broke.
"Nice work, twins! That's five!" Luz said with a grin.
"Now all that's left is-" Amity grunted as a metal bar was against her neck and she was pulled back!
"ME…" The Reaper said as he held Amity hostage, moving away from the others.
"Amity!" Edric and Emira said!
"Let her go!" Luz said.
"Never….." The Reaper whispered.
Luz's eyes began to glow red.
"I said, let... her... GO!"
Fire erupted from Luz, somehow going past the twins and Amity, and hitting nothing but the reaper.
"AAAAAAAH!" The Reaper screamed, dropping Amity as he stumbled back in pain.
Luz moved in a blaze of speed, gripping her sword tightly and swung it several times, delivering several cuts to the reaper. Luz turned her back to the reaper and slowly sheathed her katana. Right as she put the guard to the sheaths locket, the reaper exploded in several pieces of bone and cloth. Luz's eyes returned to normal and she put the sword away. Amity and the twins just looked stunned.
"Okay... well, now that that's settled, we're just going to-"
Emira was cut off by Luz.
"No, you two are staying and helping us clean up." Luz said.
"Ah, what? Why do we-"
Luz wasted no time in grabbing one of the fallen books, looked it over, and smirked. She opened it and pointed it to the twins. The twins looked at each other and blushed in embarrassment. They were in pink baby onesies, had pacifiers in their mouths, and while they couldn't see them, they could tell they were wearing diapers. Luz pulled out her phone and took a photo.
"So, here's what's going to happen, you will help clean up, or I send this to Amity and she spreads it all over social media." Luz said, "So, what will it be?"
The big babies let out noises of irritation, but started cleaning.
"Oh, and I won't close the book until you're finished." Luz said, with Amity letting out a little chuckle.
"Ugh!" Both twins groaned but continued to clean up.
Even though they tried to remove the pacifiers, they seemed to be glued inside of their mouths somehow. After cleaning up, the group left the library.
"Thanks for that Luz." Amity said, "You didn't have to do that."
"Oh, I did." Luz said, "I couldn't let anything bad happen to any of you."
"Still, it was pretty nice of you. Guess I owe you another favor."
"Nah, just the one from before." Luz said, "Hey, I noticed your diary had a drawing on the cover and I never saw book 5 in there so, how would you like to borrow this?"
She held out book 5 of the Azura series. Amity took it and smiled.
"Thanks, Luz." Amity said.
Amity looked like she was trying to think, before her mind decided what would be the best option. She leaned over and kissed Luz's cheek, making the demon girl look surprised.
"T-t-thanks for the book." Amity said, before grabbing the twins, "Come on, let's go get you back in your own bodies."
As she walked away, Luz could hear the twins snicker and Amity saying, 'Why did I do that' over and over again. Luz just touched her cheek and smiled.
'That girl really is special.' Luz's Angel side said.
'Yeah, she's one of a kind.' Luz's demon side said, 'You better not let her go.'
"The one time you two agree on something." Luz muttered, before walking home.
Luz walked back to the Owl House, opening the door and seeing Eda and King on the couch with the bat babies cuddling up with them.
"Aw, she looks so motherly." Luz said, before Hooty ruined the moment.
"Visitor!"
"Hooty!" Luz said, motioning to the couch.
Suddenly, a large creature barely fit through the door. Luz looked at her, unfazed.
"Huh, you must be Mama." Luz said.
"Yi yi, I be the Bat Queen. Now where is baby?" Bat Queen asked.
"BabIES. As in more than one." Luz said, pointing to the couch.
"Oh, more snuggle dumpling." Bat Queen said before whistling.
The bats woke up and flew into their mama's hair. Bat Queen then opened her mouth and threw up a chest full of gold, and a whistle.
"There, Eda is owed one." Bat Queen said before going out the door and flying away.
"She seemed nice." Luz said before shutting the door.
Eda started moving.
"Hm, sweet babies." She said before waking up, "Babies? Where are the babies?"
King also woke up and looked around the bat babies too.
"Bat Queen came and took them back. She also left you these snails and a drool covered whistle." Luz said as she held up the whistle, "Might want to wash it first."
"But…..I just taught them how to pick locks." Eda said, looking sad.
"Pick locks? Did you actually bond with them while I saw away?" Luz asked in surprise.
"Not important." Eda said, turning away and wiping her eyes, with King doing the same, "How was your night?"
"It was... crazy."
"Crazy good or crazy bad?" King asked.
"Does it matter?" Luz asked with a grin, giving Eda the gross whistle, "I nearly destroyed a library, so I'm a little tired. I'm going to go to bed."
"Destroyed a library?" Eda asked but got no answer as Luz walked up to her room.
Eda just shook her head, but had a smile on her face.
"That kid is something else."
