Chapter 388: The Haunting of... Poultry...
(October 15. Great Lakes City.)
At the Casagrandes apartment, they are confronting Hector, Rosa and Sergio, and they notice Sergio is wearing sunglasses. They were all informed about what went down last night, and this surprises Maria and Carlos.
"So, all this time it was you three and Vito?" asked Maria. "Seriously? We were just doing it for fun!"
Carlos agrees. "Yeah, and we would've broken that record, if it wasn't for you meddling scarers." Then he thinks about what he just said. "Wait, why does that phrase sound so familiar."
Rosa sighs. "We are so sorry, we just didn't want anyone else to break the record we have. At least Ronnie Anne and her friends made it through the night, we're proud of you."
Ronnie Anne sighs, and she nods. "Thanks, Abuela. We're glad it all worked out and nobody got hurt too." She then looks to the others. "You guys enjoyed last night?"
Lincoln, Luna, Jordan and Taylor are enjoying some Tamales and Tacos. They gave them a thumbs up, but Lincoln speaks. "The whole scare thing made the night better, a dang shame that it was easy to spot the fake into it. You guys could make a scary theme out of that for Halloween or something."
"Does sound like a good idea" replied Hector. "We could try that, and reuse some of the costumes." He sees the tear in the back of his zombie costume. "Oh, I guess this is getting smaller." they all know he is getting bigger, from eating and this annoys Rosa.
Then Michelle arrives. "Hey guys, I was told about what went down, but my kids told me to calm down. Also, I was going to head to the Mercado today."
"On it" replied Hector. But then the door closes. "Huh, what the heck?" He tries to open it, but it doesn't. "Hmmmm, looks like the door is broken or something." The others notice this, but then they see the clock hands are going backwards, and the toys from Carlitos are turning on.
"That doesn't seem right, the batteries aren't even inside" replied CJ. The farm toy of Carlitos then makes chicken noises, and this part makes them confused. But then they see the chair floating, and the lamp and the TV, and this shocks them, and the others stop eating.
Taylor asks. "Is this normal?" Then more items float and have this ominous glow around them, and they are now headed for the others.
"No, this is... A Haunting!" yelled Lincoln, and they all take cover as objects are now being hurled towards them. Michelle uses the dining table, for herself, her kids, Jordan and Taylor. "This is one strong poltergeist." they do see this shadow move by fast.
Jordan then asks. "Alright, what in the name of all things is going on here?"
The others continue to run for cover, and Carl and CJ hide in their bedroom, but then they run away as the toys they have are now floating towards them, and Carl is now afraid of his El Falcon toy attacking him with tiny corn projectiles. Rosa is trying to fight back against her kitchen, and Hector is trying to hold onto the floating couch.
Carlos and Frida do what they can to keep them baby safe and sound. Carlota runs away from her hair dryer coming to get her, and Maria and Ronnie Anne take cover behind the arm chair, and then they grab Bobby who is struck to the face by many cushions. The door opens, and Mr. Nakamura sees this. "I'll come back later." He takes his leave and closes the door.
Sergio is the one trying to evade a lot of this, and a lot of sharp objects are being hurled at him. "Rawrk! What the heck is going on?! What is happening here?!" He almost gets struck by a knife, and then a fork, and a spatula, and then a spoon hits him on the head. "Ow. Well, at least it was a spoon."
But then Lincoln realizes. "Wait, this is a Haunting, and the sole reason to this is that the spirit itself has some unfinished business, and judging by this form of anomaly, this is one major issue of unfinished business. This is an aggressive ghost, poltergeist category and hell bent to deal with something, but why target this place and these folks?"
Taylor has a plate of Tamales and she eats one. "Have you tried talking to the ghost?"
Lincoln nods. "Good idea."
Taylor is confused. "Wait, what? I was just kidding!"
Luna trusts her brother. "Linc knows what to do, he has seen a lot of paranormal shows and films." They come out of hiding, and they avoid getting hit, but they notice the objects don't hit them. "Huh, looks like we're not primary targets to the ghost. Weird."
Lincoln is getting suspicious about this. "Weird indeed, which means the ghost cares little about us and more on the others." Then he whistles, and the objects stop attacking. "Excuse me, spirit. What the heck are you doing here? What unfinished business do you have with the Casagrandes? Why show yourself now?"
Hearing her son say those words, surprises Michelle. 'Linc must've been hanging out with Lucy for this one, and also he sounds like the guys from the ghost shows and movies that I have seen on set.'
Just then, all the eggs from the fridge come out and they pass by Lincoln and the others, and they are close to hitting Sergio, but the eggs for the shape of arrows pointed at the parrot. This make them gasp, but Lincoln sighs. "Oh boy, this ghost is after Sergio. Of course, it makes sense now. So, what the heck did that bastard of a bird do this time?"
Rosa then looks to Sergio. "Sergio! What have you done?!"
"Rawrk, what did I do? I didn't do anything!" Then several cushions are thrown at the parrot, and then the arm chair and then Lalo's food bowl, and then Lalo himself, and then they hear some clucking sounds. "Wait, I know that sound. Alfredo? Is that you?" Then more eggs are hurled at him. "Yup, that's him."
Hector sternly asks. "Sergio, what did you do to this chicken? an egg is thrown at him. "Rooster, sorry."
Sergio is about to speak, but then Jordan steps on his wing. "You'd better tell all the truth or else you're gonna lose some feathers, you got it?!" This impresses the ghost, and he clucks and laughs.
Sergio nods nervously and then he explains the truth. That Sergio and Alfredo were once roommates, and had this small rivalry, since Alfredo is cooler then Sergio ever could be and loved more. He ended up messing with the car of Alfredo, causing him an accident which ruined his birthday party and then stole money from his wallet.
They all remain silent, and then Maria grabs one of the knives, and Taylor does the same. Ronnie Anne sighs. "Alright, I am so glad that you aren't my roommate anymore, because I would strangle you in your sleep and watch you're feathers turn pale white."
Michelle Lewis, has a frying pan and she strikes the bird hard on the face, and then Lincoln pins Sergio to the wall, and Alfredo's ghostly shadow is next to him. "Listen to me clearly, you flying trash can muncher. You are going to do this ghostly avian a favor and undo the mistakes you have done, or so help me I will rip off all those feathers, slash that neck, and then sell you're remains to KFC." This is a side of Lincoln that they have never ever seen.
Jordan explains. "Seeing ghost shows and movies, makes him understand the reason for ghosts, but for someone in the living to cause such pain and torture to the ghost before they died, that kinda sounds like how Lincoln has been treated, like hell."
Taylor smirks. "We should do that now. I learned how to defeathed and marinate chickens when I visited my grandparents on the farm. I have no fear when it comes to a bleeding bird."
That horrifies Sergio, he nods and he gets to work. Lincoln looks to the ghost. "We'll make sure he makes up for what he did, and then you can rest in peace." Lincoln and Alfredo fist bump, and they ready Sergio with making things right.
(Later.)
They all kept an eye on Sergio, as he cleaned the car of Alfredo and made sure it was spotless. They had some birds come along and wish Alfredo a Happy Birthday to his grave, and he even gave him back some of the cash he stole, with interest.
They now return back to the apartment and Sergio is exhausted. "There, I did it. Now, are we done?"
Alfredo is still there, and he looks angry. Lincoln is confused. "He's not done! Sergio, what are you not telling us?!"
Sergio looks nervous. "What are you talking about? That is all I did!" Alfredo is about to control Carlos, but then Ronnie Anne grabs Sergio and she slams him to the ground, and this shocks everyone. Ronnie Anne then stomps on his wings, and then she throws him to the coffee table, and then she snaps her fingers, Lalo sits on Sergio and he unleashes a powerful fart.
Sergio gets out, and he is in literal pain and suffering. "Alright! I stole his sunglasses!"
This surprises, and confuses them. "Sergio, give them back to Alfredo now!" said Carlota.
Sergio scoffs. "What?! No, I look good in them..." But then everything floats again, and the ghost of the rooster is now enraged. The others are now scared, but then Ronnie Anne grabs Sergio, and she is ticked off.
"I have had it with you and all the stupid stuff you have done!" She punches Sergio hard onto the face, and he hits the vase. But Ronnie Anne is not done, and she starts to rip off some of his feathers, and even on the wings. Rosa tries to stop her, but Lincoln, Jordan, Luna, Michelle and Taylor get in the way.
Ronnie Anne then slams Sergio to the floor several times, and then she throws him to the kitchen, where she pours hot sauce onto his eyes, and then she turns on the oven, and she readies to shove Sergio in there, and now he is horrified for his life. "Alright here, take them!" He throws the glasses, and the ghost rooster catches them.
Ronnie Anne throws Sergio into the sink, but the dish washing soap hits his eyes and they burn and he squawks in pain. This is a side of Ronnie Anne which they have never seen, but Lincoln has, and that was long ago after Ronnie Anne have a beat down to some bullies.
They watch as Alfredo puts on his sunglasses, and he clucks and cheers, and he fades away. Lincoln sighs. "Rest in peace, Alfredo."
Michelle looks to Rosa. "Seems like you don't know how to keep that pathetic animal of yours on watch. If that parrot ever does something else again, I will make the right call and have him put down for good. Do I make myself clear?"
Rosa nods, and she feels disappointed in herself and Sergio. But then multiple animal noises are heard, and they sound ghostly. "Oh, are you kidding me?!" yelled Jordan.
Michelle then grabs the others. "We are going home, I am canceling my trip to the Mercado!" They then take their leave.
"We also hae something to do!" yelled Maria, and she leaves with Bobby and Ronnie Anne.
"I realized, I have a big art gallery collection to show my familia!" replied Frida, and she leaves with her husband and their kids.
"To the Mercado!" Hector leaves, with Lalo. Rosa also follows, and she sees Sergio pleading for her to stay, she sighs and she leaves Sergio, to deal with this ghost problem himself.
A/N: Serves him right, and now that chicken can find some peace, er rooster. As for Sergio? Well, that's his problem now. Based on the episode "Bad Cluck." I hate that parrot so much, that I made changes to this concept and damn this felt good to make! I hope that you all enjoyed reading this new chapter everyone.
