[On a blue background, Candy is on a piano jumping from white key to white key, holding a block of cheese. While she does this, a shadow grows behind her. Confused, she turns around and lets out a gasp of shock and her pupils shrink. Jumping away, it turns out that the shadow was Wolfrun the whole time, who lands on the keys and causes all of them to pop off the piano.
After the piano keys rain, the same logo as before appears with Wolfrun next to it, dazed and in pain, mainly because the keys are in his mouth, one white one pops out of his maw as the story continues.]
Yukari: Remember not to call Candy, Candace. She hates that. Now back to Wolfrun and Candy!
This isn't the end of the theme intro gag line, this just continues the previous end chapter gag, here is the real one and in 2 chapters, we will introduce the new cast to the theme and a minor change to the intro as well. Here is the actual gag line:
Joker: So if someone wants you to change the story kids, just say no.
Turn 16/20 - Night 1/2 - 5 turns remaining
With only 5 turns left to go, Toad returned to the spot the board started on, eager to bring some announcements for both the players and the viewers watching the festivities.
"We have reached the last 5 turns! Let's look at the standings!" Toad announced and, as the players' placements were stated, their indicators appeared on the left of the screen. "Akane is first! Regina is second. Aguri is third. And Aoi is in last place. But who shall be victorious and become the Super Star?"
When Toad asked that question, everyone had their own opinions of the winner. The cures that share a team with a member in the game agreed that they would win and the Selfish Kingdom members felt that Regina would win. However, since there were no members of the Smile or KiraKira villain groups participating, they were divided.
Akaoni and Majorina both felt that Akane was playing that best game so far in collecting stars, having 2 compared to everyone else's 1, while Joker rooted for Regina, for her coin star pace alone, and Wolfrun was debating between Aoi and Aguri.
As for the Servants of Noir, Glavive and Erisio both decided to root for Regina, both having a feeling that she would win. Bibury, the groups former member, was with the KiraKira cures on backing Aoi, even if she was in last place, and Diable just didn't care, he just wanted to go back to Noir.
Toad, on screen, continued his announcements. "With that, it's time for everyone's favorite show: Predict the Super Star! And making the prediction this time is this individual! Come join us on stage!"
Toad turned to the right and everyone watched as a red shelled and shoe wearing Koopa Troopa walked on screen. "Um… Well, I believe Aoi will be the winner!" The Koopa stated and the rocker's player indicator moved up to the top, while her opponents retreated.
"Our predicted winner, Aoi, shall receive a 10-Coin present from Koopa!" Toad revealed and the rocker leapfrogged Aguri for 3rd place.
Koopa left and Toad continued his announcements alone. "And finally, an important announcement! From now until the end of the game, all Blue and all Red spaces shall be doubled to 6 Coins. The Koopa Banks will now require a transfer of 5 coins rather than 3. And, if two players land on the same space, a Duel Minigame will begin! This is a huge chance! Be sure to make the most of this opportunity! This is your final chance! Aim for Super Stardom and give it all you've got!"
With that, board play resumed as normal, but the watchers were taking in the new information they received.
"Double the coins gained or lost huh," Akaoni said as he and the Grand Canal participants thought back to their last 4 turns event, "as nice as that is, back on Grand Canal, Yayoi got triple the coins for all of us, so it's slightly weaker."
While Yayoi wasn't sure if that was a compliment or an insult from the oni, Miyuki had a reply prepared.
"OK Akaoni, you may be right on that point. However, the roulettes to help the player in last place probably weren't a thing yet, so this was likely the best they could do." Miyuki said in response to Akaoni and everyone shared understanding.
Akane started the path to the end by rolling a 2 on her dice block. She reaches the item shop and purchases a magic lamp, leaving her with only 17 coins. To end the turn she landed on a blue space and now had 23 coins.
"This should allow me to get the star now. Now all I have to do is," Akane began to say only for her item to suddenly vanish. "Wait, where did it go? I just purchased it seconds ago."
"Wait a minute, did someone get a Plunder Chest earlier? I know Regina didn't as she had a Dueling Glove, I think I heard Aguri talking to something, maybe that means she has a Skeleton Key. W-wait, but that means…" Akane thought to herself before looking where Aoi was and seeing her with an open Plunder Chest and her Magic LAMP in Aoi's hands.
Akane watched as Aoi used the magic lamp and made and was taken to the star's location and she bought it. This meant that Aoi had taken 1st place and Akane was now in second. Aoi noticed the lone orange cure's open mouthed stare and just smirked.
"That was cruel! Akane spent her hard earned money on the Magic Lamp and Aoi took it from her and took her star." Nao said, clearly not pleased with what had transpired.
Diable, who hadn't been in a good mood this whole time, actually smiled and said "Well, Akane shouldn't have bought a Magic Lamp for starters, plus we all knew that Aoi had a Plunder Chest so she was going to use it eventually."
"It's still not right - kuru. The fact that you could take an item from someone and then use it immediately, wouldn't be fair to the original owner - kuru." Candy replied, equally miffed.
Anyway, the star moved up higher between a standard blue and battle space and Koopa Kid was now in the old star location.
Aoi then rolled an 8 on her dice block. Karma bit her from what she did to Akane because she landed on a red space and now only had 44 coins. Aoi groaned, but knew that the star had finally moved.
Aguri was next to roll and she did so by rolling a 4. She reached the bank and the Koopa teller walked out to inform her of a change.
"Since we have reached the last 5 turns, we need to speed the game up. So for now on, I'll ask for 5 coins each time you and the others pass me." The teller explained and Aguri gave the 5 coins after taking stock of the information. Aguri would end her turn on a happening space, which meant it was now day time.
Lastly was Regina who rolled a 1. Choosing not to buy anything in the shop, she stopped on the blue space in front of her and then noticed that Akane was on the same space. "Well Akane, it looks like we are about to duel each other, may the best girl win?" Regina said with her hand outstretched.
"May the best girl win." Akane said, shaking her opponent's hand.
Both girls were taken to the Mushroom Brew duel area, while Aoi and Aguri were moved to the secret room. Since everyone knows how this one is played, the minigame was about to start but Regina still had to pick what's at stake.
"I don't wanna squander my coin lead, so we will only duel for 10 coins." Regina decided, making this a 20 coin minigame.

Regina had experience for the minigame so she knew what spell she had to cast for each mushroom, meanwhile Akane was doing this for the first time, putting her at a disadvantage.
Goomba asked for a different pattern of Mushrooms from the last round the minigame was played. Regina had a quicker reaction to each mushroom Goomba called for, while Akane was constantly slower on each time of asking. However, unlike last time, speed led to Regina making 2 crucial mistakes to Akane's lone blunder.
Regina inadvertently included a blue mushroom on a round when Goomba wanted a gray one, resulting in her internally groaning, and another one where she had included a gray mushroom when the Goomba wanted green.
Akane, meanwhile, had only one mistake: including a gray mushroom instead of a blue mushroom. When the Goomba stopped asking for Mushrooms, the minigame had concluded.
Finish
A star popped out of Akane's cauldron meaning that the volleyball player had won the minigame! While she celebrated in jubilation, and gained 10 coins from her opponent, putting her at 33 coins and dropping Regina to 117 coins, Regina sulked but had gained 6 coins and now she had 123 coins.
Aguri's turn indicator flashed between red and blue, before stopping on red, thus initiating a 2v2 minigame.
Berry Basket (MP5)
Double Vision (MPDS)
Boo-ting Gallery (MP8)
While the Smile characters explained how to play the minigame, Akane and Regina both discussed how to differentiate and win the minigame.
"OK, so based on what you told me, I think the best way to do the minigame is to have either me or you do our tracing first and then we switch, sound good?" Regina stated.
"Hmm, that could work, but we only have 20 seconds to trace the image so I think we both need to work on the image at the same time." Akane said, disagreeing with Regina's proposal.
Regina went to reply, even lifting a finger, but then she heard the '20 seconds' portion, and realized that her plan wasn't going to work. She sighed and said "OK, I didn't know about the 20 seconds part. Let's trace together."
Meanwhile, both Aoi and Aguri had the information of how to play the minigame and both nodded, knowing that they had to get it done.
Eventually, with ink matching turn order, the players saw a notepad. Each team had their image of a Wiggler surrounded by a blue background and a red one above that had their opponents similar image on a red background. They could see that the flower's exterior, nose, eyes and cheek lines were faded yellow/blue and that the bud, mouth and the Wiggler's head were faded red/green.
The viewers saw that the players were surrounded by a turn color border with their ink pen below in the same border. It was time to see who could trace it better!
Play Play Nicely, Everyone (Mario Party DS)

Both sides began their work on the Wiggler, Akane started with the Wiggler's head while Regina tackled the eyes, while the other team had Aoi start work on the flower's exterior and Aguri traced the head.
"Hmm, hey Yayoi," Miyuki said and the otaku turned to her team's leader, "how would you best trace the image if we got the Wiggler and not the Boo when we played the minigame?"
Yayoi thought it over, while on screen Aoi had completed the exterior of the flower and moved onto the eyes and her teammate, Aguri, moved to the mouth after completing the head, while Akane moved to the flower's bud and Regina had the eyes and cheek line complete and was now onto the nose.
"I think I'd do the hardest part first, the head, and then work my way backwards. After all, 20 seconds isn't long enough to save the hardest part for last." Yayoi explained and everyone surrounding her agreed with her statement.
Eventually in the game, time hit 00 and the players' pens faded away, so it was time to see who won the minigame.
Finish
First up, both Regina and Aoi were scored. Regina received an 88 while Aoi managed an 82 and the game did the same with their partners: with Akane getting an 83 and Aguri a 90. To end it off, both players' scores were added up and since 172 was just barely higher than 171, Aoi and Aguri had won the minigame!
Aoi and Aguri's traces turned into the real Wiggler as both cures gained 10 coins, while Regina and Akane sulked at their finished project as it stayed as it was.
Turn 17/20 - Day 2/2 - 4 turns remaining
Akane began the next turn by rolling yet another 2, causing her to groan. Since she was going for the star, she chose to go right and landed on a blue space, having 39 coins as a result.
Aoi was next to roll her dice block, rolling a 4 and transferring 5 coins to the bank in the process, she would land on the blue space next to the bank space and had 55 coins.
It was now Aguri's turn. Rolling a 4, she would land on a red space, losing 6 coins in the process. This meant she now had 68 coins in her pocket.
Lastly, but certainly not least, was Regina. Rolling a 10, she went the same direction that Akane did and went up to reach the star, when Booigi showed up, inquiring if she wanted to steal anything.
"Actually, I do," Regina stated, "would you mind taking a star from Aoi, here's 50 coins."
"You're the boss, ma'am. I'll be back." Booigi said before moving to Aoi's position and, with 2 other male Boos, took away Aoi's star, by licking her in tandem. Booigi returned to Regina and handed her the star, meaning she was now in 1st place.
"Thanks Booigi!" Regina said before finishing her turn on a blue space with 79 coins in her pockets.
Based on the spaces landed on, we would see a 1 vs 3 minigame to be played!

Spray Anything (MP7)
Rules: One player rides a spike-lined inner tube down a slope while trying to pop the inner tubes of the other three players.
Advice: Use the brakes carefully to outmaneuver whoever's after you.
Aguri spawned in by herself, spotting the spiked inner tube she'd use for the minigame. "Hmm, this is going to be interesting, knowing how my opponents move around in their inner tubes will be important."
Meanwhile, the teams inner tubes each matched the color of their emblems: orange for Akane, blue for Aoi and black and red for Regina. Regina stared at her tube confused, not because she didn't know what it was, but rather how to ride it. Lucky for her, a quick glance at Aoi showed her how to ride in an inner tube, so she just did what the rocker was doing.
In the viewing room, the non players waited for the minigame to begin. Thankfully, it finally ended and the screen showed the team on their inner tubes in the snow with Aguri giving chase, meaning that it was time!
Play Everybody Party (Mario Party 5)
Start
At the minigames start, Akane and Aoi moved and accelerated as far the game allowed while Regina moved to the right, assuming that Aguri would target the volleyballer or the rocker first. Aguri, meanwhile, watched each player's movement and, realizing what Regina was trying to do, moved to follow her and take her out.
"Well that didn't work, now she's following- OH JEEZ," Regina thought as she moved out of the way, meaning that Aguri was now in front of her meaning that she could take her out if she wanted. She definitely tried to by moving back and Regina had to dodge. All four then spotted a ramp that they had to jump over.
Aoi and Akane leaped over the ramp, but the formers path was stopped by a stump, Aguri was right behind her and before the rocker could move, the red cure popped her inner tube, sending Aoi flying.
Regina, having witnessed the rocker pass her by and spotting the array of rocks and stumps that Aguri could break, but Akane and her can't, decided to just hang back and see if the red cure would continue to go for front runners or not.
Aguri chose the former option, making a beeline for the lone orange cure. Akane, realizing what the younger girl was doing, promptly tried to angle herself out of the way, but no matter what she did, it seemed like Aguri was always behind her. Spotting a ramp ahead, Akane jumped the ramp with Aguri chasing from behind.
Regina watched as Aguri popped Akane's inner tube, she knew that she had to reach the finish before her inner tube was popped by Aguri. Luckily, the finish line was in sight so she just had to cross the finish line, before Aguri eliminated her.
"OK, Regina just has to cross the finish line, while avoiding the obstacles and Aguri. She needs to get lucky for this to work." Mamo observed as Regina moved to the finish line and Aguri was right behind her.
"Regina will be fine, she can win this! There is no way she loses this!" Ira replied confidently, while Makoto rolled her eyes and looked back at the screen. The finish was here for Regina but Aguri tried one last time to pop her tube. However, Regina managed to get out of the way and crossed the finish line, meaning the team had won.
Finish
While Aguri sulked in the background, the team celebrated, with Regina doing it in front of her inner tube. All 3 gained 10 coins and had 49, 65 and 89 coins respectively.
"This minigame tends to be the best when it's a 1 vs 1 battle. That battle at the end, tends to be the normal outcome when the team has only 1 member standing." Star said and everyone not playing agreed with his logic.
Turn 18/20 - Night 1/2 - 3 turns remaining
Akane started her next turn by rolling a 4 on her dice block. Choosing to continue her path to the star, she chose to .go upward and landed on the battle minigame space. Gerald the Goomba returned and announced that this would be a 10 coin battle minigame.
"40 coins are at stake, I need to win this so that I can get past Regina." Aguri said as the battle minigame roulette started again. The minigames to be picked were:
Star Chasers (MPDS)
Bowser's Big Blast (MP2)
The Final Countdown (MP7)
Rules: Be the first to claim each new star as it appears in the sky. Whoever claims the most stars is the winner.
Advice: Stars will appear one after another in the night sky. When you see one flash into place, be the first one to claim it!
When the girls went into the blue room, they each saw tablets, colored by turn order, each had an object to tap it. On each screen was a depiction of the night sky combined with some trees below.
Everyone in the game and out took in the instructions and wondered how the minigame would function. Candy in particular was the most enamored with the concept.
"This minigame would be really liked by a Pretty Cure team that works in space and the surrounding solar system - kuru." Candy commented as Star gave a hidden smirk when the fairy said that.
After enough time had passed, the screen had the 4 players, holding their tablets and looking around for something. Also, they were all smaller and standing on top of a brick chimney, because of Mario Party DS logic. Then, a shooting star passed by above, which was replicated on the tablets the girls were holding. The minigame had started!
Play Into the Fairy Tale (Mario Party DS)
Start
A star appeared and Regina touched it on her screen, turning it yellow almost immediately. With the objective clearer and stars popping up all over the place, the players start to touch them, trying to claim them as they appeared.
While the players tapped their screens and the stars changed color to match the turn order of the girls, the viewers watched as the timer ticked down.
"I think when this minigame reaches its conclusion, we are gonna have more yellow stars in the sky than the remaining colors!" Ira said confidently.
Mana, Pop and Ichika all disagreed, feeling that it would be green, red or blue stars that would dominate the midnight blue skies above.
Eventually though, the time to touch the stars evaporated and all non claimed stars faded away.
Finish
All 4 players' tablets faded, and it was time to find out who won. As the stars twinkled away, it added to the count that the girls had collected. As it turned out, Aoi had the least stars collected at 12, Regina had 15 stars, Aguri managed 17 and Akane won with 21 stars.
While the on screen volleyballer celebrated and the crimson red stars gleamed in the sky, Akane gained 28 coins and Aguri 12. Regina and Aoi, because of how they finished the minigame in the latter two positions, lost 10 coins respectively.
Now returning back to the board, Aoi began her turn by rolling a 6 on her dice block. She made a decision to continue the path she was going and then went up, not buying anything from the shop and chose to go the same direction Akane did, landing on a blue space and the 6 coins that come with it.
Aguri was next in this rotation of rolling. With her rolling a 10 on her dice block, she passes off 5 coins to the bank and runs up to Mr. I. Seeing a way to speed up getting the star, she eagerly pays the 5 coins to the living eyeball.
Aoi watched as Aguri spent her money to Mr. I and when she saw the younger girl run in her direction and the eyeball follow, she gasped in shock and ran away. Both girls stopped at the blue space, breathing in and out to catch their breath.
"Sorry for getting you into this situation Aoi, but I still have to finish my turn." Aguri apologized and moved on landing on a blue space, but not before feeling creeped out by the malicious laughter coming from the mansion, getting 6 coins as a result.
Lastly would be Regina, who pulls out her map to check where the star is. Smiling, she puts it away and rolls a 7, which allows her to purchase a star and land on a blue space earning 6 coins and being above the bank space.
"3 stars and, most likely, in the driver's seat for coins. Yeah, I have won this for sure, not accounting for anything else." Regina thought as the star moved to a location boarded by a Bowser and a standard blue space.
Akane's turn indicator flashes between red and blue and the game decides to stop on blue, meaning a 4 player minigame was going to be played.
Trike Harder (SMP)
Dizzy Dancing (MP2)
Blooper Scooper (MP6)
Pushy Penguins (MP5)
Cannonball! (MPIT)
"Interesting, based on the name it's a dancing… why are you girls so apprehensive?" Aoi inquired.
"Aoi, answer as truthfully as possible. Have you ever been super dizzy during a battle with the rest of your team?" Akane replied, her tone not giving anything away to the rocker while both Aguri and Regina shared similar nervous expressions.
"Uh, no? Why is there a situation for this minigame where dizziness is an issue?" Aoi responded, now a little concerned.
Aguri sighed and then said: "Yes. Basically, we have to collect treble clefs on a gigantic turntable/ However, the catch is that we are all going to be dizzy, because we start on a turntable that will launch us into the corners."
"Wait, so will we have to find our way to the clef and potentially not get any because of the dizzy spells that happen?" Aoi asked and upon receiving 3 nods in response, she groaned at the implications.
Star and the Smile and DokiDoki casts gave a similar explanation to the KiraKira cast, doing the best to prepare them for what will transfire. Eventually, the screen updated to have the four girls standing on the record in the giant turntable, like the fairies before them, spun and sent them to the corners, dizzying them good in the process.
Stars floated over the girls heads and swirls replaced their eyes, as the first clef floated to the middle of the record. It was time to start the minigame!
Play Spinning Polka (Mario Party 2)
Start
The girls attempt to try walking straight to the clef, but they start going right instead of up, showing the viewers that the effects are random everytime the minigame is played. Aoi decided that if up meant right, that probably meant down is left.
"OK, so if I have this right, that means I either have to go left or right for up. Hmm, I'll try left first, it just might work!" Aoi thought as she walked to the right and headed upwards. Having it all sorted out, she heads for the clef, not realizing that Regina and Aguri had a similar realization.
Regina was the first to reach the clef, earning a point and causing the clef to move to another spot, which is quickly claimed by Aoi, by jumping off Aguri's head. Akane, meanwhile, finally got the hang of the movement and was now a competitive free for all for the musical notes.
The viewers who were not here the first time, having gotten a similar explanation of the minigame by the preceding characters, now understood where they were coming from when they had explained the minigame beforehand. Not one person wanted to participate in the onscreen minigame, that much was clear.
Eventually, the timer for the minigame had evaporated and the last note disappeared. Lucky for our girls, the dizzy spells faded away and now it was time to see who won.
Finish
Akane had a massive goose egg as her score, having not claimed a single musical note. Aguri had finished 3rd in the minigame, with 2 notes collected and 2 coins for herself, Regina had much better luck collecting the notes, considering she got 4 of them, but no one could stop Aoi, who managed to get a record 9 notes and 10 coins claimed to boot for herself.
Regina gained her 3 coins and knew that the game was nearing its conclusion.
Turn 19/20 - Night 2/2 - 2 turns remaining
Akane pulled out her map, trying to identify what she needed to roll to buy the star. After putting it away, she rolled a 10 and landed on another battle minigame space. However, a 0 coin battle minigame was decided, meaning that no battle minigame would begin.
Aoi was next in the line up and rolled a 4 and earned 6 more coins as a result.
Aguri was now up to roll her dice. Hitting the dice block, she rolls a 7 on the block. Heading down the spaces, she stops in front of the gate and the Skeleton Key pops out of her pocket. Like before, it asks her what her intentions are to open the door.
"I think I do want to open this door," Aguri decides and the Key sadly looks at her and before it fades, it says:
"Well, okay, I guess this is goodbye then. I'll miss how the inside of your pocket smells." Aguri, confused and kinda disturbed, heads into the open door and lands on a happening space, turning it to daytime in the process.
Regina is last in the rotation and she rolls a 10 on her dice roll. Paying 5 coins to the bank, she would land on a blue space, claiming 6 coins.
Aguri's turn indicator went blue, so a 4 player minigame would be the penultimate minigame played!

"Hey Star?" Bibury inquired, noticing a trend with the minigame names.
"Yeah Bibury, you wanna ask a question?" was the Birdo's response to the former member of the Servants of Noir.
"Are all of these minigame titles puns? Because I've noticed a trend in the naming schemes." was her question.
"Well… while some of them are, others are not. You just don't know what you're going to get with minigame names." Bibury shook her head, now getting a better understanding of the naming style.
Eventually, the minigame saw the 4 players standing on rugs in a room with some lit torches and other assorted statues. The players watched as 4 Shy Guys walked in with wilted sunflowers in plants and put them down in front of them. The implications were clear for the participants and the viewers: will these flowers back to health!
Play Rolling About (Mario Party 5)
Start
All of the girls try to hardest, using their minds to revive their sunflowers, and, to some people's shock, the flowers started to heal up, which was indicated by the drooped leaf being lifted up.
Some of the watchers were shocked at what was happening and who could blame them. How do you revive which was already dead, and yet the power of the mind proved to be a powerful thing.
"This is the perfect minigame for the next team! Just gotta get them to my domain and then we can see who can revive the flower!" Star thought to himself while on screen, one of the sunflowers had bloomed and 10 coins spilled on Regina in 16 seconds, meaning we didn't have a new record.
Regina breathed in after her flower bloomed and she collected the coins and then looked at the remaining girls' sunflowers and noticed that Akane and Aguri were both neck and neck with leaves sprouting out they just needed the head, while Aoi was not doing as well.
The next 2 sunflowers to bloom happened within milliseconds of each other. Aguri's sunflower bloomed at 17'04 while Akane's bloomed at 17'06, meaning Aguri claimed 3 coins and Akane 2 coins.
Aoi sighed at her last place finish in the minigame and she and both playing cures turned to Regina who had finished first in the minigame.
Finish
While Regina celebrated in jubilation, everyone knew that there was only 1 turn left for the board and then the bonus stars would be handed out.
Turn 20/20 - Day 2/2 - LAST TURN!
Akane started her last turn by rolling her dice and receiving a 5 on her dice block. Losing 5 coins to the bank, she would land on a blue space and earn the coins back plus 1. Leaving her with 75 coins and 2 stars heading in the final minigame.
It was now Aoi's turn to roll the dice! Rolling a 6 and earning 6 coins by landing on a blue space, she now had 1 star and 83 coins.
Aguri was next to go on the final turn. Rolling a 7, she would land on a blue space right above the bank space, meaning that her pre final minigame totals was 1 star and 77 coins.
Lastly, Regina rolled a 8 on her final roll. Losing 5 coins to the bank, and with it being the final turn the item shop isn't active so she can't get an item, she lands on a blue space 2 spaces away from the star. With this turn, she has 3 stars and 85 coins.
Our final minigame for this board will be a 4 player minigame! The final minigame choices are:
Roll Call (MP2)
Manor of Escape (MP9)
Call of the Goomba (MPDS)
Domination (MP4)
Track & Yield (MP7)
Rules: Listen the tempo of the intro tune, then turn the crank to re-create that speed as closely as possible. The better you do, the more Goombas you'll lure.
Advice: Your music box will emit colorful notes when you're cranking at the perfect speed.
This was it, the final way to change the minigame star's winner! Aoi was ecstatic, since the minigame was another musically inclined one. Being a performer herself, being on tempo in performances is second nature to her.
"This is it, the minigame that could determine everything. Are you guys confident in the participants' tempo keeping?" Star asked and received a mixed bag of replies.
"Of course we are, Aoi, outside of making sweets, preforns in a band. She will win this minigame for sure!" Ciel replied and the remaining KiraKira cures shared a similar positive response for their teammate and friend.
Mana and the DokiDoki villains felt the same for Regina and the girls that shared the same team with her felt the same with Aguri.
As for Akane, well safe to say, the Smile cures were hesitant, mainly because of her showcase in Xylophone Home. They were still going to support her all the way, because that is what friends do.
On-screen, the girls were each shrunk standing on a stump, not seeing the other girls but seeing 50 huge Goombas in front of them. Each player had the organ that they would use to lure the Goombas to their side, colored by turn order. All 4 grasped the crank and, at a medium tempo speed, cranked it counter-clockwise and it emitted the famous, to Star at least, Super Mario Bros. overworld theme. A few Goombas walked in the direction of the girls before reverting once they stopped. It was officially time to start the minigame!
Play Play Nicely, Everyone (Mario Party DS)
Start
Now knowing what tempo was needing to attract the Goombas, each girl cranked the machine to get them interested. The viewers watched as Aoi, Regina and Aguri's organs were emitting colorful notes, attracting Goombas to their side, while Akane was having trouble staying on tempo with the clear notes her organ was releasing.
"Why isn't this working? I'm rotating it at medium tempo, so how come none of the Goombas wanna come to me?" Akane thought to herself, not realizing that she was cranking a little too fast and the clear notes that she was sending out.
The other 3 were having a much better time. Though it seemed like one person was doing better than the others.
Eventually, time stopped and 3 Goombas weren't claimed by anybody. The 47 that were, on the other hand, each went to a good performer.
Finish
Akane had no Goombas with her, having no luck in the cranking of the organ, leaving her upset at her performance and no coins for her from this minigame. Regina managed 10 Goombas and Aguri managed 13 of them, but Aoi managed to get 34 Goombas, winning the minigame and getting 10 coins. Aguri and Regina got 3 and 2 coins respectively.
With all of the turns extinguished, it was time to declare the winner of Horror Land! The 4 girls returned to the start of the board and Toad was present as well.
"The final turn has ended. So, who is the Super Star? It's time to hear the final results!" Toad announced and everyone, sans Diable for obvious reasons, was eager to see who won the board.
"First, we'll count everyone's Stars! Here are the Stars you've all earned!" Toad said as the current counts were 3 stars for Regina, 2 stars for Aguri and Akane and 1 star for Aoi. "Now that we've seen your Stars, we'll count your Coins. You've collected this many Coins!" Akane has 75 coins, Aoi has 93, Aguri has 80 and Regina has 87.
"Now, I'll award the Bonus Stars! The following players shall receive 1 Star for excellent performance! First is the Minigame Star! This award goes to the player who collected the most Coins in Minigames. The Minigame Star award goes to… Aoi!"
As the rocker walked up to claim the star, Himari, who had done the calculations in her head, had a stunned expression. When Ichika asked why, Himari's reply was: "Aoi took it by one coin, Ichika. ONE!"
"Next is the Coin Star Award. This award goes to the player who collected the most Coins in board game play. The Coin Star award goes to Regina!" The lone bad guy who went good from her season accepts the star and now there was one last bonus star to give out.
"Lastly is the Happening Star Award. This award goes to the player who landed on the most ? Spaces. Well that's interesting, 2 people get this award: Regina and Aguri!" Both girls go to claim their star, with everyone stunned that multiple people can get the same bonus stars.
"And that finally brings us to the Super Star! Now for the official announcement! The Super Star is…" Toad began to say as everyone waited to see who would win when all of a sudden: a wild Koopa Troopa appeared!
"Oh, toil and trouble! The wizard, Bowser, is out wreaking havoc!" The Koopa Troopa said in a panic. The assembled cures in the game, realizing that someone could be in trouble, quickly run off to go deal with that and Regina follows because this could be her opportunity to impress a lot of people!
The viewers, sans Star, were not expecting this. Candy and most of the fairies gasped upon realizing what was about to transpire. The characters from Smile, sans Wolfrun, Akaoni, Yayoi and Miyuki, also realize how it would play out.
On screen, it was night time in the woods of Horror Land and who would appear but a green shelled Koopa Troopa. This Koopa was scared since it was late at night and he was lost as well, just making it worse.
"Ohh! It looks like ghosts could appear at any moment…" The Koopa said, frightened. Unfortunately for the Koopa Troopa, a wild Boo appeared and spooked him.
Then, a certain track started to play as the Bowser Wizard appeared on screen. Bowser covered his eyes as he walked up to the Koopa Troopa and, in a faux sympathetic voice, asked "Are you okay?"
The villains quickly realized what Bowser's plan was, all the Koopa needed to do was turn around and he'd fall for it. The cures and fairies had a similar realization and were begging the Koopa to not turn around.
The good guys' pleas were ignored as the Koopa turned and spotted the Bowser Wizard and, being stricken with fear, could do nothing as he was turned into a frog.
"He is a frog now, huh," Diable said, not impressed with the spell that was casted, "that is not something that a bad guy would do."
Miyuki turned to look at Diable with a face that read, 'you just ticked off a fairy tale bookworm', and started to say something but Bibury quickly gave her signs that say 'no' and 'save it' and so Miyuki just waited for a later time.
Suddenly, a figure in shadow appeared and no one, not the Wizard Bowser or the viewers, knew who it was.
"Looks like it's time for me to end your reign of terror, Wizard Bowser!" was what they said and Bowser confused asked "Huh? Who goes there?"
However, the frogged Koopa Troopa realized who it was and while all of his dialogue was in frog ribbits they translated to: "It's you, Regina!" That's right, Regina had won Horror Land. The girl was glaring at Bowser hard and was holding her wand in her right hand.
"Hold on, Koopa Troopa, let me reverse the spell cast on you." The villain king's daughter lifted her wand and reversed the spell on the frogged Koopa Troopa. After she did, the Koopa ran off and Regina moved to face the Wizard.
"MY magic is the best magic! Hocus pocus!" Bowser yelled as he tried to turn Regina into a frog but Regina quickly fought magic with magic and pushed back.
"Come on, Regina. You can do it!" Ira said as Bel and Mamo, and Mana internally, started to cheer for her.
With Regina managing to prevent being turned into a frog, Wizard Bowser tried it again but Regina managed not only to stop it but reverse it.
"How about a taste of your own MAGIC!" Regina declared as she managed to turn Bowser into a frog. Bowser hopped away ranting that he'll remember this.
The Koopa Troopa ran back up to Regina and said "Oh! Thank you so much! You saved me!"
"You're welcome! I'm always ready to help others." Regina responded as Toad showed up.
"Great work, Regina! You are the Super Star of Horror Land!" Toad stated and the remaining cures ran on screen, it finally sunk in that she had won.
"She won, she actually won! I can't believe it!" Ira said as Regina celebrated on screen. Makoto and Alice both started clapping.
"Gotta say that Regina played great, I gotta give her props for that. We need to conglaurate her when she and the others get back here." Alice said and everyone was in agreement.
The 4 characters ran by on screen with the full standings behind each one as they ran by. The full standings were written from first to last. After some time, the screen turned off and the girls were back in the room from the green pipe. Star had reverted everyone back to their standard outfits by this point, but no one commented on it.
Akane walked over to Miyuki and the assembled Smile cures, safe to say, she needed some cheering up. Miyuki and Yayoi were quick to cheer her up with the latter saying: "It's okay Akane, you did the best you could considering the circumstances."
"Besides," Miyuki brought up next, "there is always next time."
Akane thought it over before smiling and breaking out of her funk with a "Thanks girls, now let's go give congratulations to Regina for winning the board!"
With most of the people giving Regina her day in the sun, Lance, Candy and Pop decided, after celebrating Regina, to see the new picture that was now in the history room. In front of the new picture was a working sun to moon switch that would change from day to night automatically, it was currently sunset in Star's domain so it showed the sun, but it was close to the moon. Next to it was a toy figurine of a Boo.
As for the picture itself: Regina was the main focus, with her having 2 stars above her and Toadette clapping for her, Aguri had her map out, looking for the next star location, Aoi staring at the floating instruments with a fearful expression and lastly Akane being chased down by Mr. I.
"Well, this was fun, if a little scary board kuru! Wonder who will show up next kuru?" Candy wondered, looking over the pictures so far.
While Lance shrugged, Pop seemed eager, if a little tired, to continue this lengthy day that began with preventing a bad end in the world. He made it clear by saying: "Well whoever it is, we should give them a great first impression - goazu. Now come on, let's get back to the group -goazu."
The 3 fairies turned around and returned to the group as Horror Land came to a close and Star had picked the next team. A team skilled in curing the world.
BOARD COMPLETE: WINNER Regina (Horror Land)
That's another board in the books! Our first villain, kinda as she did pull a heel face turn, has won the game! I know a lot of people have expected that only cures and fairies would win boards, but the villains are just as eligible, so don't expect a heroic steamroll, because it's not going to happen.
As we look to the future, we will see the addition of one more Pretty Cure team, the fairies that empower them and the villains that, normally, lose to them. If you noticed all of my foreshadowing, you might know which team it is. If you do, don't ruin the surprise for those that don't.
Now before we close this chapter, did you notice what chapter number it is? That's right: 13. It might seem inconspicuous now, but, as a gag, I've thought about using the theme of the second Disney cartoon series that Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh ever created. You might not have heard of it, it's called Milo Murphy's Law. You know, the show about a 13 year old boy cursed with the literal manifestation of Murphy's Law, which states that 'anything that can go wrong, will go wrong', yeah, that show.
Anyway, for some time, I have imagined how the 13th episode of each PreCure season would be if the intro had the lead cure walking thru their home city, wearing a backpack on their back, signing the theme as mayhem goes on around them. Thinking about it more, it would be an interesting idea. However: a few ground rules have been set for each rendition.
The lead cure is the main singer of the theme, which might be problematic in a few cases. (Mana Aida is unfortunately Hollywood Tone Deaf, so her singing won't sound the greatest.) If in a season where each cure gets their own fairy, then the lead cure's fairy is free to sing with them.
Any cures that become one prior to the 13th episode will appear in the background of the intro, this applies to villains as well.
The previous lead cure makes a cameo appearance, riding on a bike, or other unit of movement that reduces walking, only for them to crash thanks to a loose kite.
The remaining cures, and fairies, sing the backing chorus for the song.
Lastly, but certainly not least, the lead cure is walking to a clearing where already present are the other cures, transformed into cure form and the already debuted villains are. They are about to battle, when one cure looks up and sees something falling. They quickly get the assembled bad guys' attention, who, after looking up themselves, take a few steps back. The thing falling was that season's logo, which normally has a letter/kanji pop off and land on the floor. If that happens, the lead cure will climb up on the logo, with both sides watching them, reach into their backpack and pull out the missing letter/kanji from the logo on a sign. Everyone assembled will give the lead a knowing look and the theme will end right then and there. In seasons where this doesn't happen, the lead will simply wave to the viewers instead.
Of course, some seasons will have a special ending, like Delicious Party's ending in a Rosemary created Delicious Field or the anniversary seasons having every lead show up for cameos (HappinessCharge, HuGtto and Hirogaru Sky), but that tends to be how it goes.
If you want an example, you can make your own for the rest, I've decided to do a KiraKira a la Mode version, just for you. While I work on bringing over the next team, for now…:
(A door opens up revealing Ichika walking wearing a pink backpack. Every step she takes, the color of her silhouette and the sky and sidewalk changes. The camera pans around her going between her legs as the coloration goes back to normal. The camera shows an angle pointing skyward, showing the sun and the sky.)
"Look at that sun, look at that sky," Ichika sings as the camera moves to a close up of her dress, "look at my pink dress, I look so fly!"
The camera zooms out to showcase a tree and a mailbox. Ichika also has her hands on the straps of her pack as she looks at each item.
"Look at that mailbox, look at that tree," Ichika sings as she looks at both items. After she sings the second part, the tree falls over on the mailbox, leaving only the stump with a beaver being the culprit, but lead cure pays it no mind and sings "it's about as beautiful as it can be!"
The camera moves to the side where one of Yukari's fangirls is sitting on a park bench, looking at her phone. For the foreground while Himari, Aoi, Yukari, Pekorin and Chourou are singing the woah part of the song, Ichika stops walking to let a wrecking ball with a broken chain go by.
Ichika then looks up to see a street light about to fall on her, but moves out of the way in time, surprising the Yukari fangirl in the process as she gains a shocked expression. "Today is gonna be exceptional!" is what the pink cure sings as she keeps on walking dodging a falling safe and a toilet and sidestepping a kite as well. "Never boring, even for a minute," is what she starts with next and her teammates and the fairies sing in as close to harmony as possible by jumping in, "it's my world and we're all living in it!"
Ichika keeps on walking as the remaining cures and fairies sing the woah part twice, as characters from their season watch the unfolding chaos, with a couple later characters appearing as well. As an auto tuned Ichika sings "We're all living in it," Mirai Asahina makes an appearance riding on a broomstick. Being more focused on Ichika rather than paying attention to her surroundings, the kite from earlier blindsides her causing her to crash in a heap.
Eventually, Ichika reaches the clearing where her friends already are opposite a couple of the Kirakiraru Thieves. Specifically 3 of them, Gummy, Maquillon and Pulupulu. Himari, in Cure Custard form, looks up and spots something falling. Alarmed, she gestures to the other side to look up and then to move away. The song meanwhile was nearly done, because with one last call of:
"Never boring even for a minute," the season's logo hits the ground at the same time all of the cures and fairies sing "it's my world and we're all living in it!"
One of the middle kanji falls off the logo and breaks upon hitting the ground. Luckily, Ichika climbs up top, realizes what kanji is missing and holds a sign where the missing kanji was. The cures and thieves give Ichika a knowing look as the intro ends.
See ya!
