It is I, the Absolute Madman and I've come (foreshadowing) for my weekly dose of comments!:
DeltaWolf2038 - Binging the entire series in two days? Gotta respect the hustle. I'll for sure respond to any comments from now on, but answering twenty or so at once would require a dedicated chapter or two at least! Still glad to have you here!

And now, your weekly dose of Stranded!:
A concrete plan of action made coordinating operations a walk in the park and a shared goal ensured that everyone would contribute to the best of their ability. As with most plans however, their first draft didn't last very long - the fortifications they envisioned proved difficult to place in their current form. They were somewhat prepared for that thankfully and had the beautiful ability of adaptation.
The first draft that Momo came up with on the same day assumed that they'd be easily able to drive a bunch of logs into the ground, maybe put some rocks behind them to add stability to the whole thing and be done with it in a flash. Granted it'd require chopping down a copious amount of trees, but they were literally living in a forest, trees were as common here as they could be.
Unfortunately they encountered quite the heavy resistance right off the bat. Literally. As it turned out, the area around their valley was very rocky and the layer of diggable soil was quite thin, giving way to stone rather quickly and complicating matters substantially. Thankfully with some improvisation, Shu being a walking transmutation machine and Momo channeling her inner Imperial Fist, they were able to alter their plans accordingly and weren't set back by the sudden obstacle.
The main part of their plan - the crude palisade - remained unchanged as it was still probably the easiest thing to do. As they couldn't dig deep enough to ensure the stability of the wall however, they had to improvise a bit. Momo thankfully was able to come up with a solution - cement. Cement? Thas conkcrete baby.
Instead of digging deep, Izuku and the shovel crew were instructed to dig wide. After placing the logs in the correct position, they'd dump large stones on either side to hold them in place and then fill the entire trench with quick-drying cement, courtesy of Shu. The end product wasn't exactly like a proper palisade of old, but it was sturdy enough to stand upright by itself and that's what mattered the most.
The process however - as easy as it may be - was still time-consuming, especially since Izuku refused to let the girls carry heavy stuff around. Itsuka was very stubborn about helping out and managed to convince Izuku to let her in, but that was the sole exception. That he knew of that is.
Stormy, being the tomboyish tsundere that she was, kept lugging logs behind her adoptive father's back, doing whatever she could to help. Sure she could get away with shoveling away the dirt or swinging an axe around, but she definitely preferred transporting stuff from point A to point B.
Momo, the definite brains of this whole operation, was overseeing the progress from the sidelines while at the same time marking out the boundaries of the trench that needed to be dug out. Shu and Ibara were also off to the side, mixing and preparing the conkcrete mix to be poured over the rocks.
Yui turned out to be an absolute fiend with the axe and would probably be able to keep up with the demand for logs all on her own, but Izuku lectured her about the importance of proper rest and taking breaks - kind of a hypocritical thing to do given his track record - and managed to convince her to take it easier. Yui hoped to at least get a good spanking for not listening to his advice, but that did not happen unfortunately.
Joining Yui in the woods was Kyouka who, despite her slim build, proved no less effective with the axe. Izuku would seriously need to investigate where their proficiency for bladed weapons came from and do it sooner rather than later.
The last, but just as important, part of the construction was digging the trench itself. Mina, Tooru and Setsuna were tasked with this, moving vast amounts of soil per day and keeping their morale high with jokes and gossip.
All in all the proper organization, chain of command and teamwork made the project that much easier to accomplish. Thankfully with Stormy keeping the skies in check they got nothing but warm weather with a cool breeze and Shu was able to produce cement on demand. Yup, things were going smoothly as never before and they'd be done with all this in no time! At least if it wasn't for a couple of incidents here and there…
The start of yet another day of hard work went just as smoothly as yesterday. The singing of birds was a nice addition to the atmosphere and the gang spent the morning enjoying food and drink before heading out into the wilderness.
If you omit the initial kinks that they needed to work out on the very first day, you could say that the construction was going pretty well. Don't get me wrong, there was still much to do - many trees to cut, even more logs to haul and an absolute truckload of dirt to shovel around - but the progress was steady and their morale was still pretty high. Being cooped up in their valley seemed pretty comfy and enjoyable while it lasted, but the girls quickly realized that heading out and getting in touch with nature a little bit was really fun. The air seemed just a bit more fresh out there, the breeze just a tad bit more refreshing and the overall atmosphere somehow enhanced. It wasn't anything crazy, just a slightly noticeable change that you might miss if you focus on something too hard, but it was a very welcome difference nonetheless.
And for some, it was also a chance for… things to happen. Not on their own of course, but nudging fate in the right direction wasn't that hard, right?
He had yet to discover it, but there was someone, not really nudging more like tackling, the fate in the correct direction and prodding it with a taser every time it tried to veer off course. You see, certain people have certain tastes and not all of these tastes can be satisfied when you spend your days surrounded by other people. Rings some bells?
Well, as with most things that have happened ever since he came to this strange place, there were signs. He wasn't the most perceptive guy out there - at least without the full access to his Danger Sense and even then as the name implies he was most astute when it came to danger - but now that he'd spent something close to two years - which was an insane thing to think about in and of itself - living with the girls, he liked to think that he understood at least a couple of things about them. And one of those things turned out to be tells and body language.
He was thrown off by how she acted during breakfast and the few times they saw each other throughout the day threw him for a loop even more. Her usually over energetic behavior was more timid and she seemed awfully careful about moving around too much. Which in and of itself was very weird. She used to be by far the most expressive girl he knew, period. Always flailing her arms around to garner attention and convey her emotions more clearly. The most recent development in regards to her Quirk - the fact that it could be somehow completely turned off - didn't diminish her ways at all, though now she had to pay more attention to her facial expressions. Today however, she was unusually timid and so Izuku was pretty sure she was scheming something. His theory would soon be proved, but for now all he could do was suspect things and with all the work that he still had to do, he had little time to worry about one of the girls acting out of the ordinary.
Besides, what's the worst thing that could happen? Well, if we're being really technical about this, then there's loads of things that could go wrong if he ignores the fact that someone starts acting strange. Just take one look at Shu and Stormy - robots that look exactly like people? Well, Shu and Stormy used to be robots and Izuku had no idea how close they were to looking like people, but with everything they already knew about the man in the sky, it was better to overestimate his abilities rather than doing the opposite.
This time around however, the reason behind the girl's strange behavior was much less sinister and more… peculiar? I'm trying not to spoil the surprise, alright? There's only so many words I can safely use to spin me tale!
Izuku, being a part of the hauling crew, made many trips between the currently constructed part of their fortifications and the spot where Kyouka and Yui decided to bond over their shared proficiency for bladed weapons. Still a scary thought.
He encountered Itsuka a couple of times - and he could've sworn that he saw Stormy jumping into the bushes once or twice - but it was otherwise fairly uneventful. That was about to change.
Some rustling from the bushes off to the side was all he needed to spring into action, jumping straight at the possible ambusher to get an early advantage and minimize the risk of being injured if a struggle was to ensue. He wasn't exactly sure who - or more likely 'what' to expect - but Tooru was definitely not on that list.
"Tooru?" Izuku asked, half-dazed and half-surprised. "What are you doing?" He questioned as he got up, extending a hand downward to help her get up.
She took the offer right away and allowed herself to be pulled back onto her feet, dusting off before answering Izuku's questions.
"I just wanted to see you." Tooru responded innocently enough.
"But… we saw each other just a minute ago?" Izuku recalled, his daze and surprise giving way to pure confusion.
He'd only just dropped off another log at the current construction point and was heading back to get the next shipment, so he wasn't sure what she was talking about. Fortunately Tooru was more than eager to explain.
"Not like that silly." Tooru said, a smirk coming to her face.
She sauntered closer to Izuku, fully invading his personal space and looking up at him with that ever-present smirk. Leaning into his torso and balancing most of her body on her tippy-toes was a great hint, one that Izuku was quick to pick up on.
"I know that your doors are technically open every night, but I really missed our more… risky escapades." Tooru explained, solidifying the topic of her visit for good and redirecting Izuku's blood flow away from his brain.
"I can't say that I wasn't thinking about it as well…" Izuku responded after a few moments, a spark of joy appearing in Tooru's eyes as he did.
"Sadly it's a bit hard to do with all the girls around." Tooru pointed out, running her hands over Izuku's chest.
"I'd say it's more than 'a bit' hard." Izuku teased, snaking his arms around her in the meantime.
"We're all alone here though." Tooru stated, placing her arms firmly on Izuku's shoulders.
"That we are." Izuku responded and leaned down to finally capture Tooru's lips with his own.
