Once they were back at Stonehaven, Kara was surprised to find most of her pack there, Winn and Brainy were having a heated conversation with Oliver, while Barry watched the exchange, his head moving from side to side like in a tennis match.

"I'm not saying she's not worth it, I'm just saying I don't know her and we can't take a decision as important as this one so lightly" Oliver sentenced with his arms crossed. Kara had only heard about him through Barry and in Barry's own words, Oliver was a good guy but with a big stick up in his ass.

"Then talk to her, get to know her, even fight against her if that's what it takes for you to realize she's the logical choice" Winn replied exasperated.

"Winn is right Oliver, Kara is…"

"Kara is standing right here" The blonde interrupted pulling Lena with her. "What's this all about?" she asked with interest and saw Oliver tensed up at her presence.

"Kara! Long time no see, come here!" Barry hugged her tight, if she was being honest, she had missed having him around, they used to run together, since he was the only one almost as fast as she was. They run for hours and those moments with Barry were the moments when she felt freer.

"Barry! I've missed you so much!" Kara said as she returned the hug "How is Iris doing?" Iris was Barry's wife, as soon as the blonde met her for the first time, they had bonded immediately.

"She's good, she's resting, you know, with two little pups on the way she gets tired easily" his smile was wide and his eyes full with joy.

"What? Oh my God, I didn't know she was pregnant! Congratulations!" She was hugging him again when someone cleared them throat, Barry turned around and saw Oliver watching their interaction.

"Oh sorry, Kara, let me finally introduce you to Oliver, you know, the guy I talked to you about?" Oliver dropped his arms at his sides and stretch his hand towards Kara.

"It's nice to finally meet you Kara" he said with a stern voice.

Kara took a step closer and shook his hand. What was with men and the strong handshake? She decided to return the gesture and began to squeeze his hand more and more, only stopping when she saw a grimace on his face. "It's nice to meet you too, but if you want to test something, I don't think a strong handshake is going to be enough", Kara said with a smile in her face.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that. Kara, listen, I don't want you to take this the wrong way but you have to understand, I can't follow an alpha without even knowing what they are about" Oliver said now feeling more relaxed.

"So that's what all this was about, you're deciding whether I should be Jonn's successor". It wasn't a question, just a statement. Everyone in the room nodded and Kara took a deep breath. "Some time ago Winn talk to me about this decision, he told me I should be next in line, at that moment, I didn't feel ready, Jonn was… barely gone and honestly I didn't know if I was up to the task, but things have change, the Prime Alpha is here, and I know for a fact that he's after me, not just that but I'm pretty sure he was involved in Jonn's death, this knowledge made me realize that I'm ready, I won't allow anybody else from this pack to get hurt, not by him or anyone else" Kara said with finality and fire in her blue eyes.

"How can you prove to us that you're strong enough?" Oliver asked without malice Kara could tell, he was just trying to protect his people.

Kara gave him a lopsided smile and Lena, who was quietly standing behind her and just listening at the exchange with interest, felt like a charge going through her entire body. "I can show you right now" the blonde stated and before Oliver could nod, she flooded the room with her pheromones, a second later, every werewolf was snarling at her, their own pheromones mixing with hers. Kara knew that the only way to prove herself to all of them was making them subdue, she saw some of them already losing their stance, but at her side, Oliver was still standing, his face contorted in anger. Kara took a step towards him, letting a second round of pheromones out, this time her scent filled the room, stronger than before and Oliver's legs started to buckled, a few seconds later everyone in the room, except Lena, were on their knees unable to stand up. Lena grabbed Kara's hand and squeezed when she saw a cold smirk on her face, Kara blinked a few times and stopped what she was doing. "I'm sorry" she whispered in Lena's ear as the brunette just gave her a reassuring smile.

"Well, that was interesting" Winn said rubbing the back of her neck once they were left alone.

"It sure was, well done Kara" Brainy added with a proud smile.

"I did what I had to" was all Kara said, a frown had settled in her face and not even Lena soft touch on her back seemed to be working to get rid of it. "I need you to find more information about my family" she finally added.

"Kara, believe me when I say we tried, but everything about your past seems to have been erased, the little clues we've got was all we could find" Winn said in an apologetic tone and Brainy who was standing at his side just nodded.

"But we know of someone who might have some answers" Brainy continued and Kara could almost see Winn face palming himself.

Kara already knew who that might be, and if the Prime Alpha could give her some answers, maybe they should, after all have a talk.

Kara and Lena headed towards their bedroom once the voting was over, the results were unanimous in Kara's favor, some members didn't seem too pleased but Kara couldn't care less.

"Come here" Lena said laying on the bed. Kara went to her and laid down at her side. "What happened before?" the brunette asked while she run her fingers softly against Kara's jaw.

"What do you mean?" the blonde replied, head straight, her gaze never leaving the ceiling.

"When you were submitting them, I… I felt something Kara and when I looked at you, you had this cold look, so cold, for a fragment of time I thought I'd lost you, what I felt made my blood run cold" Kara's features went rigid, Lena could feel the tension on her mate's body. "You can tell me", she said guiding Kara's gaze towards her.

"I don't know if I should, I don't want to scare you" Kara almost whispered the last part, her azure eyes reflecting her inner struggle.

"Please" Lena replied softly and Kara nodded, she took a deep breath before talking.

"I've haven't told this to anyone yet, not even Alex. After I became a werewolf, I trained so hard to control myself, to tame the wolf inside me, it wasn't easy but after some advice from Jonn a dedication I was able to do it, the only time I lost some of this control was when I got…" Kara did a pause, feeling a little embarrassed at her next words, "when I got aroused whenever we were together, but you helped me with that too" she continued. "But, after I got my memories back something changed, I got these nightmares? Or memories? I'm not sure, but since then I became even stronger and when I let myself go, I can hear his voice clear as day: You will show them Kara, everyone will be on their knees and the house of El will reign once again" the memory of his voice echoing gave her chills. "When I hear his words it's like something in me snaps, I'm me but at the same time I'm not, I don't know how to describe it, but all I feel at that moment is this power flowing through my veins, and the power is so addictive that I feel myself losing control so easily. You brought me back today, but I'm not sure if I would be able to bring myself back if I were alone".

"Oh darling" Lena said caressing Kara's cheek while the blonde leaned her head towards her warm hand. "I know it must be scary, I can't even fandom the idea of losing control over myself, but I'll always be with you, even if we are apart, I'll be there, you have nothing to be afraid of, plus, I know how strong you are Kara and I know you will also be able to overcome this".

They were about to kiss when Kara heard someone screaming from down stairs.

"And you didn't think I would want to be a part of this? I'm part of the pack, I'm Jonn' s son for fuck sakes, where is she? Kara?" before Kara was able to stand the door to her room was abruptly opened. "Kara, I didn't…" his words were cut short as soon as his eyes landed on Lena.

"I see you still didn't learn how to knock" Kara said in a quiet tone.

"You brought… her here?" Kara's hands formed a fist as soon as she heard the tone behind his words. She got up and went straight to him and came to a stop when she was just mere inches away towering over him.

"I did, after all she's my mate and MY pack should know who my mate is" the blonde answer in a cold tone while Lena watched with interest, she loved whenever Kara showed that side, so in contrast with her usual calm and sun like personality.

"Your pack? So, it's true, you're becoming our new alpha?" Mike asked with a mocking tone that didn't go unnoticed by the Alpha.

"I am, but whoever wants to fight for the position is more than welcome" she answered with a lopsided smile and a cold shiver run through Lena's spine.

"Well Alpha…" Mike said with disgust "I have a message for you" he continued with a smirk on his face "Our real Alpha, the Prime Alpha says he is waiting for you"

"And why would I go?" Kara said, feeling uneasy.

"Because he has information about my father's death" he said coldly "he only asks for you to come alone. So, what should I tell him?"

"You are not really considering it, are you? Kara?" Lena asked with uncertainty and fear in her voice after Kara asked Mike to wait downstairs and closed the door.

"I have to go Lena, it's about Jonn, I can't… I need to know what he knows" Kara walked towards the brunette but Lena stepped back.

"You know this is a trap, after all he did to you… to me?" she said with frustration.

"I know, believe me I do" Kara took another step closer and this time Lena didn't back away.

"What if he hurts you?" her mate asked in a small voice.

"He won't"

"How do you know that?" Lena replied while she wrapped Kara's hands with her shaking ones.

"Because I know I'm stronger than him, I can feel it, plus I have a pretty good reason to come back unharmed" Kara said while she placed a soft kiss on Lena's hands.

"Promise me you'll come back Kara Danvers, I'll be waiting"

"I promise" Kara said sealing her promise with a peck on her mate's plump lips.

While she was driving towards the place Mike had told her, Kara called Alex a few times but the call had gone straight to voice mail, it had been days since she last talked to her sister and if she was going to do something stupid like what she was about to do, she had to let her sister know about her plan, after all, if something happened to her, Alex would know exactly what to do. After evaluating what she should do, Kara finally decided to leave a message, her sister was probably going to kill her for not waiting for her reply but Kara was tired of waiting, she was tired of men imposing their agendas on her, so she said what she had to say and kept driving towards her destination.

Yes, Kara had made a promise and yes, she should have been more careful but when the life of the person you love more than your own life it's been threaten by some scumbag it's almost impossible to keep the emotions in check, so yes, just a small distraction was all it took for her to messed up. With each attempt to get rid of the chains that were now set around her wrists she thought again about her promise, about how Lena would feel if she didn't come back and how quickly she broke her promise. "The thing about promises little one, is that it conveys hope, and if for whatever reason you're not capable of keep it, the disappointment is even greater than if you had never promise anything at all" at that time she wasn't able to grasp the meaning behind her aunt's words, but it was so much clearer to her now as her aunt's voice kept echoing in her head.

"I'm sorry Lena" she said as the door in front of her got opened.

"We meet again…"she heard while the one person she thought she would never see again came in through the iron door.
