Chapter 4
Nedzu was in the middle of laughing as he fell off his chair. Aizawa was just shaking his head before turning to look at Bones. The soot covered and currently scrubbing himself down with a wet cloth, Mr. Bones. "And you still got them on camera trying to steal the jetpack. So what happens now?"
Bones just laughed. "We sick the lawyers on them. One, they tried to take property that was not theirs. Two, they were so focused on the act that they did not heed the warning or let me finish. Despite my long pause I still gave enough wording to count as a warning. And three, the red button was an untested emergency evac system created by Hatsumei Mei, future CEO of Hatsumei Enterprises. Also the fact that we had the Hatsumei logo and prototype patent number on the bottom of the pack, meaning I only had to turn it off and let them look at it, means that would be attempted corporate theft. Thus The Lawyers."
Present Mic and the other teachers were looking at the skeleton in awe till the tiny form of All Might spoke up. "It was Nedzu's plan, wasn't it?"
"Of course, I'm not dumb but that was still way~ over my skull. So I just did as he asked and when I told him how I got my gear he fine tuned the plan. Only part I did forget… Mei's babies tend to blow up…a lot."
Nejima, better known as Powerloader, the support class teacher was nodding his head to that. "I can fully vouch for that. I take it that's why you're cleaning up while giving your report?"
"Well yeah, gotta look good for my hot date tonight… unless we need stealth but I figure I'm good with that too. What do you say, Nerumi?"
Everyone looked over at Midnight who was just grinning. "The fact that he is immune to my mist makes him a wonderful intern. And his reputation out there makes the job easier. I mean either they give up at first sight of him or try to fight and get knocked out while he is still unaffected."
Bones looked at the group before tilting his head. "Are we missing someone?"
Nedzu finally recovered from his hysterics. "Yes. It seems your little life lesson the other day was very impactful on the heroic students. Five have transferred to the general studies, two have gone to one of the other departments. Oh and one Minoru Mineta has transferred out of the school entirely claiming he did not want to lose his manhood. Something about attacks aimed below the belt."
Bones was trying to place the name when Aizawa stated an 'impromptu baseball bat'. "Oh yeah, glad he got the luck on his future career."
Nedzu however let out a sigh. "That said, it is up to me to remind you that we do have an image to maintain. And Hound dog is currently in need of a second guidance counselor due to his increased workload."
"But he loves his job, makes no bones about it. He loves helping kids be their best. Oh and one more thing… I have no idea what you're talking about… I just said the truth after kicking their asses and had the Support department clean up the mess. I was not sure how well the stunner ink would work."
Powerloader was still sipping his tea. "Yes, another Hatsumei exclusive. Along with the 'capture coffins'. She redesigned them to be sight and sound proof as well as be made from Quirk suppression materials. A very good investment in that one. Oh and she wants to see you later about your 'new baby' as she put it. If you weren't a skeleton and I didn't know her personality by now, I would be worried about that statement."
The rest just sweat dropped as Bones was finished cleaning up. He looked at Nedzu and then tilted his head. "Hey, boss. When do I get to start actually working again? I kinda need to relieve my 'hero stuff' itch."
The odd furry principal started typing at his computer. "The next hero license exam is in four months…"
"But can a dead guy even get a hero license? I mean the commission holds the reins on that part. And we are still in murky legal waters on this quirk. Perhaps another method. I mean I can get the top 5 pros to sign a form allowing me to get a license after all the interning."
Present Mic spoke up enthusiastically. "That is a good idea as all but one are currently unaffiliated with UA. But when did you intern with Best Jeanist and Edgeshot?"
"The first court appearance I had was a suit done by Jeanist himself. He loved the challenge of keeping it good looking but hanging onto my bones properly. As for Edgy, well let's say I made a great distraction for the bad guys on my early days in the streets. He taught me a few ropes and even good scouting practices. As long as the crime went down, and I didn't get killed, he didn't care about the vigilante thing. Now for the bummer. I don't get along with Endevor and I'm terrified of Miroku. It's the ears man. They are too good at hearing me sneaking. That really bothers me." The depressed look on a skeleton was very odd to the assembly.
Nerumi patted him on the hair before smiling at him. "I keep forgetting that you're still a kid. Even if you are a vigilante…"
"I'm a kid? I thought I was a skeleton. When did that happen? Nedzu why did you not tell me I'm a kid. Oh poor mommy Inko will be so heartbroken her favorite little skeleton is a kid now. Please let her know gently. Don't send All Might!"
Yagi put his face into his hands, muttering about the selective memory of a mindless skeleton. Everyone not laughing yet broke at that. Nedzu even grinned behind his cup. He decided to end the fun. "Calm down, You're still a skeleton and Inko will love you no matter what…" "Woohoo!" "... However the issue is Endeavor refuses to work with you and wants, and I quote, your 'skull on his desk and completely unable to communicate.' As I see it you need to… who are you calling?"
Bones held up a finger. "Hey, La Brava, hope you enjoyed those videos I sent ya of the hero commission. Could you be a dear and let Gentlemen know that Dickhead a'la Flambe is back on the menu…. Uh huh… yup and I'll send the videos as always. Thank you and send some more Golden Imperial. That stuff is so divine that I'll cover 2 orders for myself and Gentlemen… ok see ya." He looked up at the shocked faces. "How else do you ruin a pro with the media when the corrupt hero commission is blocking the facts? You use a hacker and a videographer."
Mic just shook his head. "I need to get you on the air. You're crazy enough to inspire people. Hell, I need you and Shota to help me with commentary at the sports festival."
"NO!" The tired man was about to run out of the door when Nedzu made it shut remotely.
The little furry one sighed as he looked over the room. "It was brought to my attention that a serious issue has arisen with the past Sports Festivals. This year all hero course students must have a codename before going into the field. Protection of their civilian lives and families is a major factor in this decision."

Later that day the first upload was sent out of Gentle Criminal asking the people for their opinions on heroes and vigilantes.
The video showed the scenes of Endeavor's 'heroics' followed by the aftermath and clean up of his actions. The pie graph was a nice touch. La Brava wanted to give it a week before bringing up Mr. Bones.
During all this, Bones was sitting in a classroom with the full heroics roster. All of them were glaring at him but he just ignored it for the latest news.
Midnight was finishing up the codename class when Bones jumped up. "Hey, Invisible one. Is that gloves and shoes really all you have for your hero costume?"
"Yeah? Why?"
Bones turned to Midnight and whispered in her ear. Her eyes grew big. "Ok class. Next is heroics training but due to the festival many of the staff are busy. In light of recent information I believe a practical is in order. So the girls will be with me going over the importance of practical hero costume enhancements and the boys…"
"WAIT!" Bones was holding out his hands. He scuttled away from Midnight but Kaachan was grinning. The skeleton was getting closer to the door. His sadistic grin was matched by the teacher.
"The boys have to catch Bonesy here and fully restrain him. Before the end of class. ~Good luck~."
The bell sounded and Bones was out the door with Bakugo on his heels. The rest of the boys followed as fast as they could.
Midnight was now eyeing the floating uniform with her lecherous grin. " So you're aiming for my title or farther with the fact you are basically naked with gloves and shoes on. Girl you have a long way to go to get to my level. Let's talk about genetic cloth. The kind that works with your quirks…"
Outside the school on his way to the training ground was one very happy skeleton. If you go off his laughter. The angry shouts behind him were less than happy. As were the explosions.

That evening Gentlemen Criminal ran a new video of Endeavor assaulting criminals already in custody. That had set the #2 Hero off big time and Bones was tailing him all day getting good evidence of his behavior. It was clear to anyone in the hearing range that he was highly aggressive.
The fact that only two of the seven arrests did not need an ambulance was a real good sign in favor of Nedzu's new plan. What would his signature matter if he was no longer respected by the public?
The next day the teachers were in discussions about the latest polls. Endeavor was actually losing his spot if his public image took any more hits. Too bad Bones had only sent his videos this morning.
Said skeleton was currently sitting in class watching the others study. He was very pleased with the fact that any argument about getting an education was shot down with, 'Who would even hire a skeleton?' Nedzu however was enjoying the fun of using Bones to keep the hero students on their toes. Today was for keeping a cool head in an unexpected situation… or better known to the staff as 'give Mr. Bones a couple smoke grenades and watch the chaos'.
The fact it felt like a wave of shivers through the school seconds before the fire alarms went off and smoke started to erupt from both hero classes was the highlight to Bones' fun. The fact that Bakugo was blamed for it was the runner up.
When all the classes on that floor were evacuated the staff tallied how well they did. It was abysmally clear they had no real hope at this point. No coordination, no sign of leadership and support roles, no focus on the safety of the other students and Shoto does not count as his default is always calm. At least that was what Aizawa said.
Bones was nowhere to be found after that but the news release of the prior days activities by Endeavor was a good reason for him to be scarce. He did pop up during the night patrols bringing drinks and snacks to the underground heroes. No arrests had a report of Bones being there.
