It was the night of Halloween in Jasper City as every neighborhood was full of kids trick or treating, wearing all manner of spooky and awesome costumes going door to door and getting candy so this was a good night for them, this was also a good night for Runt who was walking with and Claudette wearing a ninja costume but Claudette was wearing just street clothes as she figured she was getting a bit too old for trick or treating,she went with Runt because she were asked to do so by Kate and Humphrey, this wasn't exactly what she had planned for Halloween but what kind of sister would she be if she didn't take her little brother trick or treating.
Meanwhile Kate was currently at the door of their home contending with a few trick or treaters while Humphrey was sitting on the couch watching TV Humphrey had a red shirt and jeans on while Kate had on a Witch costume complete with a hat. "There you go sweethearts."Kate said with a smile as she handed out candy to one of the pups who was male and had tan fur and was wearing a Shazam costume,then after that the pups left and kate closed the door and sat down on the couch next to Humphrey,who then got a text from Salty in the form of a picture of him wearing a Captain America costume and he appeared to be at a party judging by the people in the background.
Humphrey and Kate were invited to that same party unfortunately they had to decline, which greatly disappointed Humphrey and Kate as they wanted to go, "Look at this Kate that looks like a good time."Humphrey said showing Kate the picture, Kate shook her head slightly "I'm sorry we had to decline Humphrey, but you know what happened last year right?"Kate asked with a hint of disappointment in her voice Humphrey nodded his head.
Last Halloween while they were attending a costume party, Humphrey and Kate got a call from a Neighbor that Stinky along with some other delinquents were spotted throwing Toilet paper and eggs at people's houses and to make matters worse he left Runt alone, now they decided to stay home and make sure Stinky behaves himself. "throw a curse at him Kate."Humphrey said in a slight joking manner refuring to Stinky who was actually upstairs doing homework and her witch costume "i did throw a curse at him Humphrey multiple curses,in a Frozen Anna costume."Kate said remembering the absolute screaming fest she gave Stinky that could've been heard across the city and she grounded him for the rest of that year and all of this year as well.
"Yeah,i know it was a very serious matter but that was entertaining to watch Kate."Humphrey said with a little chuckle "the Internet thought so too,it went viral immediately."Kate said with the roll of her eyes then the doorbell rang again and Kate stood up and walked to the door and gave more candy to trick or treaters before sitting back down. Humphrey let out a sigh before wrapping an arm around Kate's shoulder before looking at her with a little mischievous smile "You know Kate even though we can't go out to have some Halloween fun,we can still have some spooktacular fun in our bedroom."Humphrey said with a wink Kate looked at humphrey as if he was insane "No Humphrey what about the trick or treaters?"Kate asked gesturing outside "just leave the bowl out on the porch with a sign that says fell free to take the candy."
Kate was about to say something until Stinky came halfway down the stairs "I finished my homework."Stinky said making Humphrey and Kate looked at him with slight uncaring expressions "Ok."Humphrey said unsure why Stinky felt the need to tell them that Stinky immediately went back up the stairs. "What about Stinky?"Kate asked "He won't hear anything we'll be playing Halloween music."Humphrey said making Kate roll her eyes "I mean who's going to make sure he stays in the house?"
Humphrey gave Kate a are you serious look "Stinky may act like an idiot sometimes, but he's not that stupid to sneak out of the house and risk being grounded even longer."Humphrey argued "Don't underestimate the stupidity of the teenage brain."Kate warned making Humphrey scoff and shake his head "look baby i promise we'll do it later."Kate said as she rubbed his shoulder tenderly making Humphrey feel a little bit better, just then the doorbell rang again and Kate got up.
Meanwhile Claudette and Runt were just about done,as Runt's bag was full of candy and he was slightly struggling to carry the bag, Claudette turned to Runt "You are going to share your loot right?" Runt turned to her like she was insane "get your own."Runt protested "hey i took you trick or treating you owe me some candy."Claudette said as she smiled a little bit as she and Runt began to walk home until some rather mischievous laughter caught their attention and they looked across the street from the right of them to see a group of pups between the ages of 13 to 15 throwing eggs and toilet paper at a house.
Seeing this made Claudette sick to her stomach,what amusement could possibly come from ruining someones beautiful house, Claudette had half a mind to chase them off but decided not to as she would've been out numbered by pups that would probably hurt her. Claudette lead Runt away from the scene "too think Stinky abandoned me to do that."Runt said still upset with Stinky that he participated in a vile act "he won't do it again Runt mom and dad made sure of that."Claudette said with a little smile remembering Kate biting Stinky's head off.
Runt and Claudette walked up to their house and entered in Humphrey and Kate looked at them with smiles "Hey what did you bring home?"Humphrey asked and Runt showed Humphrey and Kate his candy whic impressed them "Woah!"Humphrey said with a little laugh "Alright you know the routine,you get one piece of candy after dinner."Kate said making Runt nod and then he immediately went upstairs to change out of costume.
"So everything go okay,any problems?"Humphrey asked "Nope everything went smoothly, although we did see some pups vandalizing a house,i think it was the same group of pups Stinky was with."Claudette said with disgust Kate rolled her eyes with annoyance "What is wrong with pups today, thinking terrorizing people is fun and cool?" Humphrey shook his head not knowing what answer to give.
"They're probably still over there Mom why don't you chew them out like you did Stinky?"Claudette suggested Kate chuckled "Oh i want to but I'm going to let the cops deal with their dumbasses, they're going to learn real quick what acting stupid is going to get them."kate said firmly and Humphrey and Claudette agreed to that fact.
