Just a One-Shot.
I know that you all are waiting for DD crossover of Overlord, but the actual lore of Faerun is pretty big, so I will not use Faerun in the Crossover at all.
But the upcoming DD crossover will still be related to the same.
This is just one of my fanfic that I wanted to write at spacebattles, but that place is full of elitist and people often used Report like it's a candy.
So, I decided to write it all here again.
Hope you all like this one shot!~
Clear blue sky welcomed the robed figure called Momonga, the Guildmaster of Ainz Ooal Gown, as he flew around without any worry.
Just a few weeks ago, he found himself in this world when the servers of YGGDRASIL shut down. At first, he thought that this was the sequel of YGGDRASIL and wandered around with curiosity until the boredom stopped his movement.
But then, he found something unexpected. He couldn't even log off for some reason. While he used various methods to force log out, he failed miserably.
Disappointed and scared that the game company was doing something strange to him or exploiting his digital rights, he decided to stay at one place. Until he met some humans who were running away from a vine-like monster of gigantic proportions.
Curious about it, he decided to intervene while putting his escape countermeasures active at any moment. It was true that something was not right here, but death might be something that could give him the answers he wished for. Though, suicide was his last option, not something that he would commit suicide at the first place. So, he began to buff himself with as much as he could.
At first, he chose to use his favorite spell [Grasp Heart] on the monster, but the monster just stood there stunned. No wonder, the spell met the innate resistance of the monster. He launched another few spells, yet the monster resisted them, albeit with great pain. The said monster had some nigh-unstoppable regeneration that he could not understand, but it intrigued him nonetheless.
Frustrated at the level of healing factor of the monster, Momonga decided to use his summons to deal with the monster. After all, he was not made to fight, but rather buff his said monster to deal with others. There was one more reason for why he never used his undeads at the first place. A part of his mind felt that he was being monitored by someone. But for that reason, he would use his minimal number of undeads and retreat from here.
Momonga was a Necromancer, a type of Arcane Magic caster who specialized in the magic of unlife and death. Rather than a spell, he used his Overlord skill called [Create High Tier Undead], a racial skill that created the strongest undead monsters in his arsenal at the cost of his XP. Not that was a problem, as the reamins of the monster would provide the XP again.
However, the undead that he had summoned was clearly different than the one he hoped to see.
Instead of a ghostly skeletal rider called [Pale Rider], he got a dark shadow that covered the entire sky without any light. Two crimson eyes shone upon the vine monster. Not wasting anytime, Ainz gave his mental command to finish the monster right there.
Much to his surprise, the battle ended faster than before.
He remembered that it was not YGGDRASIL and wondered if all his spells and skills were different than before. Especially, the one related to summoning magic.
"Master, we are near to the Himalayan Mountains, shall we proceed?"
The ghostly voice of his summon echoed in his non-existent brain. Breaking the train of thoughts of his undead master, the shadow emerged around him and pointed to the foggy mountains of Himalayas.
Come to think of it, the summoned undeads never spoke to him in YGGDRASIL, unless they were part of an event or a quest. The Pale Rider was capable of talking and thinking, but only for specific words programmed in its data.
From what Pale Rider answered, Momonga found that it was some sort of a divine spirit related to sickness, plague or curse. Normally, the divine spirit could not be summoned in the world due to them being concepts than actual spirits. The time of its summoning and place also mattered the most, but due to having a direct link with Momonga, it became possible. He assumed that the link was most likely to be either his Necromancer class or his Overlord class.
But because it was summoned by the system outside of the normal one, the plague incarnate was capable of being summoned into the world again.
There were also other types of divine spirits, monsters, dragons, heroic spirits, servants, natural spirits and extraterrestrial beings in this universe. All of them were ready to unleash themselves upon the world, but Gaia and Alaya had put them under control or others.
And no matter how hard it felt, Ainz adapted to his current situation. He had to, otherwise the things would go ugly.
"Even though you all are not here my friends, I will explore this new world on the name of our guild. I will turn our name as an eternal legend in this world. So, may be..."
"...if there are other players, they will come to me and we have better hope to survive! Though I must become strong as well, otherwise I will just become a burden for my summons in the future."
Ainz swore to himself and prepared himself for the grand exploration in this world. No matter what changes this would cause in the upcoming future.
(Few millenia later)
In this 21st century, most modern people were unaware of the supernatural creatures and societies. Whether it was Chaldea, Mage's Association or Dead Apostles, the human society turned blind eye to all such things for many uncountable times. And even now, a supernatural being was just moving among them.
Violet hair flowed like the waves of water, beautiful eyes like gemstones of Cat's Eye and pale yet healthy face was hers, an exotic beauty was moving around the market of Shinjuku.
From the look of her face, she looked lost. Like she trying to search something amidst this crowd of human. She sighed nth time and whispered to herself.
"I hope I won't be late at the meeting."
"Hey hottie, where are you going?"
The sudden remark caused the woman to glare behind her. Ready to murder the hooting guy, she was about to unleash her killing intent. But what she saw surprised her. A familiar face came in front of her, as the man showed no sign of a perversion but...
"Ashwat..., ur, I mean Ash."
"Medy. It's been a while."
The man was clearly a muscular hunk, with a brazen look and a fierce hairstyle, he waved his hand and walked tpwards her. He smiled gently at her.
"Can't I even joke with my friend? You are not texting me back."
The man called Ash, gave an exaggerated sad look and showed his smartphone.
Medy smiled and replied to him,
"I was busy with my students. Their exams have finally over now. On top of that, tonight is our meeting but..."
She stopped mid-sentence and blushed in embarrassment that she lost the directions to the meeting spot...again. Frtunately for her, Ash was going there as well.
"Great, let's go to the meeting spot together."
Medy thanked her lucky stars and easily took his offer.
"Oh, and Ash..."
"Hmm...?"
"Don't use such vulgar words to me. I do not really like it."
"Alright, but our boss said that we must play our roles correctly, otherwise it would bring problems for us."
As they were walking towards their destination, the people around them were whispering with each other. Like how both of them were together or many other things. But Medy ignored their words and moved forward without stopping.
Soon, their destination appeared in front of them. Medy was clearly thanking Ash in her mind, if not him, then she would have been late or absent today.
"Look at the beach. Once we finish this meeting, we are going to have fun in the waters!"
Ash exclaimed in pure excitement. He was always like this, from the day they first met with each other to the day they were meeting again. However, this was not the time to think about such stuff. Others might be waiting for her.
Entering the building, they went directly to the top floor. The five-star hotel called Golden Pavillion had many things to attract the attention around the Japan.
But today was a very special day.
The day when their small group of outcasts became the strongest organization called New Ainz Ooal Gown, or in short NAOG.
It was founded by the undead monster called Momon over 10 millennia ago. And to this day, the organization withstood against likes of Mage's Association, Dead Apostles and Chaldea.
But their goal was simple, yet tough.
It was exploration!
