Hi everyone! Welcome to the revamped version of Isaac's story in my Teen Wolf Saga, Scars!

So this story is the one that will be going through the most changes. A lot of elements are the same, but I really wanted to have Isaac and Delilah's romance flow more naturally than before. They won't get together until later on, unlike the last time, but there's still going to be plenty of moments between them.

Also, if you started to follow my other story Fortune Faded, I am planning on taking it down and putting some elements that I had planned for there and putting it in this story. I think it'll go much better with Isaac and Delilah's plot. This story is definitely going to be improved drastically and I'm so excited for it. I hope you are too.

Okay, enough rambling. Please enjoy!

Featured song- Guns and Horses by Ellie Goulding

You're so quiet

But it doesn't faze me

You're on time

You move so fast, makes me feel lazy

Let's join forces

We've got our guns and horses

I know you've been burned

But every fire is a lesson learned

I left my house

Left my clothes

Door wide open

Heaven knows

You're so worth it

You are

But I wish I could feel it all for you

I wish I could be it all for you

If I could erase the pain

Then maybe you'd feel the same

I'd do it all for you, I would

I would, I would, I would

Most teenagers would moan about going back to school. Getting up early, copious amounts of work, sitting in boring classes which were lead by teachers with sticks up their asses… doesn't sound like every teenager's cup of tea, does it? In those rare cases, however, there were a few teenagers who would jump out of bed at the opportunity to get back in the classroom, bright eyed and bushy tailed.

One of those cases came in the name of Delilah Lambert, sophomore brainiac. Also known as Beacon Hills High's sweetheart. Delilah had been looking forward to the start of the second semester ever since the last one ended. Don't get her wrong, she loved giving her mind a break from all the stress of school as much as the next person. But there was a reason why she was one of the smartest students in the school next to Queen Bee Lydia Martin. She was a true geek and embraced all things math and science.

And if that meant she was able to get out of the house and socialize, then that was just the cherry on top.

Delilah opened her temporarily empty locker, which she had cleaned out before the start of winter break, and restocked it with textbooks and binders. Everything was color coded and labeled so the girl could distinguish what was for what subject. Told you the girl was a geek. That never hindered her social status at school, as proven whenever anyone passed by Delilah with a 'hello' or a wave, gestures that she graciously returned.

Everything in her locker was now organized to her liking, including pictures of her and her friends and her favorite celebrities taped on the inside of the door. A mirror was placed right in the center of the door and Delilah gave her makeup and her highlighted and styled brown hair a once-over to make sure that everything was kept in place. She smoothed out her blue long-sleeved blouse and floral skirt before deeming herself presentable and ready to conquer her day. History and English were Delilah's first classes of the day so she grabbed everything she needed until her next grace period and shut her locker.

"Boo!"

Two hands grabbed Delilah's shoulders from behind and she let out a shriek. When she turned around, she saw her best friend Annie cracking up at the brunette's frightened expression.

"Holy shit, Annie, don't do that!" she breathed out, placing her hand over her racing heart, "You scared the hell outta me."

Annie's laughter settled into giggles. "I'm sorry, I just had to. You get scared so easily and the look on your face is so priceless!"

Delilah rolled her eyes. "Good thing I didn't drink coffee this morning with that pick-me-up then."

"Oh my God, you have no idea how excited I am for the dance team tryouts after school on Friday," Annie said as she looped her arm with Delilah's as they strolled down the hallway, "We better get some good people on the team if we wanna have a successful season. I swear, Jeanine better have her act together this time."

"Don't you think you're being a little harsh?" Delilah asked, "We still won state last year."

"Yeah, no thanks to Jeanine! Not even the seniors were any help. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have even gotten past sectionals. You better be captain this year."

"We'll just have to wait and see," Delilah shrugged.

As they walked, they ended up passing by Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski, who were in a couple of Delilah's classes. They were on the lacrosse team, but Delilah had never actually seen them play before. They usually just kept the bench warm with Natalie Henderson, another girl in their class who was on the baseball team and always hung out with the boys. Scott was also Delilah's coworker at the animal clinic so they mostly interacted with each other there since they weren't in the same clique. It didn't stop them from saying hi to each other when they crossed paths.

Sure, Scott might have been a little nerdy, but Delilah liked that about him. He was sweet, dorky, funny, easy to talk to… he was even kind of cute. How could Delilah not have developed a crush on him over time?

"Ugh."

The sound of Annie's disgust had Delilah pouting. "What?"

"You know what," Annie said, "You seriously have the worst taste in guys."

"That's not true! Scott's a nice guy."

"The kid rides a bike to school," Annie reminded her, "And have you noticed his jawline? It's all crooked and shit."

"We can't all have Porsches and Mercedes-Benz, Annie," Delilah said. The blonde scoffed. "And I like Scott's jawline. It adds to his charm."

"Still, I think you should go for someone like Jackson Whittemore. Or even Trenton."

Delilah raised an eyebrow. "Last time I checked, Jackson was still dating Lydia Martin. And I keep telling you that Trenton and I are just friends. Nothing more, nothing less."

"Whatever you say…"

The first warning bell rang, signaling that class began in five minutes. Delilah's eyes grew wide. "Shoot! Run, now!"

Chemistry crept up before Delilah knew it. While most people dreaded it, especially when they knew Mr. Harris was the one teaching it, the brunette was ecstatic. She loved chemistry. It was one of her favorite and best subjects. And Mr. Harris? Delilah didn't mind him so much. He wasn't the most pleasant guy, but because of her brains and hard work, she quickly became one of his best students so that helped.

When Delilah entered the classroom, she could already spot a few familiar faces, like Lydia, Jackson, and his best friend, Danny Mahealani. She also noticed Scott and his best friends huddled up at one desk, deep in conversation. There was already another guy sitting in the spot next to Scott so there went Delilah's hopes of being her crush's lab partner.

Her green eyes searched around until she found an empty seat towards the back of the room. The person already there had their head buried in their arms on the desk so Delilah couldn't tell who they were. But she still went over and cautiously tapped them on the shoulder.

"Excuse me?"

The person must have been asleep because he jolted up in alarm, making Delilah flinch herself. He pulled the hood off his head and revealed his curly dirty blonde hair and eyes as blue as can be. Those eyes widened when they fell on the girl staring down at him. Was she talking to him?

"Sorry," she apologized, "Are you saving this seat for someone?" She pointed to the chair next to him.

Seeming a little groggy still, he shook his head. "No, go ahead. It's all yours."

"Thanks," Delilah smiled. She sat down next to him as he yawned. "Long night?"

"You could say that," he said, rubbing his eyes.

"I get it. The night before the first day of school is always stressful." Delilah pulled her binder out of her book bag. "Oh! Where are my manners?" She held her hand out to her new lab partner. "I'm Delilah."

The boy looked from the outstretched hand in front of him back up to its owner. Delilah's eyebrow arched, waiting patiently. Finally he took her small soft hand into his larger and and slightly calloused one.

"Isaac."

"Oh, yeah! You live just across the street from me. You and your dad work at the cemetery, right?"

"Yeah… we do," Isaac answered, surprised that a popular girl actually knew who he was. He also tried not to cringe when she brought up his dad since he avoided talking about him any chance he could.

Delilah grew curious about Isaac's odd behavior until Mr. Harris walked in the room. He walked over to his desk and picked up a stack of papers. As he walked down the aisles, he passed the papers out to the students.

"I hope you all chose your seats wisely," he said monotonously, "because that's where you'll be sitting throughout the rest of the school year. Also, the person sitting next to you will be your lab partner so you better become good friends with them real fast because I won't allow you to switch seats. No exceptions."

Typical Harris. But Delilah didn't have a problem with having Isaac as her partner. Whether he felt the same, she wasn't sure. The stack of syllabi had reached their table and they each took one. Isaac blew air through his lips as he read through the syllabus.

"I apologize in advance if your grade in here slips since you're stuck with me," he said to Delilah.

"Nah, I think I'll be alright," Delilah smirked, shaking her head, "If anything, since you're stuck with me, your grade can climb up."

Isaac scoffed. "Good luck on making that happen."

"Mr. Lahey, Miss Lambert," Mr. Harris called out, making the two look up, "If you two can remain quiet while I read the syllabus, that would be great."

"Sorry," Isaac said, insincerity lacing his voice.

This made Delilah stifle a laugh as she went back to reading the syllabus. Isaac's ears slowly started to tune out the teacher's voice as he continued to speak. His attention had drifted onto something much more interesting.

Lunch rolled around after chemistry. To avoid any potential food poisoning that came from whatever they were serving that day, Delilah decided to pack her own lunch consisting of a turkey wrap, baby carrots, and water. It wasn't the most fulfilling meal in the world, but with competition season starting, Delilah needed to keep a close eye on her figure. That is according to Annie and her dance coach. Even her mother had made a passive comment about her avoiding seconds during the Christmas and New Years Eve parties. Delilah had grown accustomed to it all and just agreed to maintain a healthy diet.

But maybe she could sneak in a Rice Crispy Treat from the vending machine later. No one had to know.

She chewed on a carrot as she listened in on the conversations her friends were having at their usual table in the cafeteria. Like Delilah, everyone in their group was highly intelligent, among the top twenty in their class. Naturally they gravitated towards each other in middle school and stuck together ever since. Not only that, they were all athletically gifted and have participated in either track, soccer, dance, basketball- you name it, they've done it. Being beautiful of face and richer than the finest chocolate helped earn their status as the popular kids as well. Right alongside Lydia Martin and Jackson Whittemore.

Everyone either wanted them or wanted to be them. It was like being in the presence of royalty. And, boy, did they sure act like royalty.

"So did you guys hear about that dead body that was found in the woods last night?" Brianna chirped excitedly. Oh, Brianna… always one for gossip.

"You mean, part of a body," Justin corrected, "The police only found the lower half of it."

"Details," Brianna said, waving Justin off. He rolled his eyes.

"But did they find out what happened?" Annie asked.

"Not yet," Cody answered, "I don't even think they have a suspect. Or know who the body belonged to."

"Oh, spooky!" Jade said with a sly grin, "God knows we needed something exciting to happen to this place."

Emmett chuckled. "Yeah, no kidding. I mean, the last time something interesting happened was when Lydia Martin decided to wear short skirts." Annie hit her boyfriend's arm. He laughed wrapped said arm around her shoulders. "Relax, you know I'm kidding!"

The blonde huffed. "Yeah, right." She ended up cracking a smile when Emmett kissed her on the cheek.

Delilah refrained from rolling her eyes at the sight as she took a sip from her water bottle. Throughout the entire conversation, she could feel Trenton's eyes glancing over at her once in awhile. She never gave him the satisfaction of looking back at him. Not if Delilah wanted his ego to grow twice in size. Like Trenton really needed that boost.

"Speaking of Lydia," Annie chimed, "she's throwing a party after the lacrosse scrimmage on Friday night. We're going, right?"

"Um, hell yeah!" Brianna answered, "I need to start window shopping for a new boyfriend anyway."

As a collective, the whole table groaned.

"Is there every a time when you're not thinking about boys?" Justin asked.

"Only when there are not hot ones present," Brianna shrugged, "so, right now." The soccer player threw a French fry at her, barely missing her head.

"Let's be mature here, children," Jade said with a laugh.

"She started it," Justin grumbled, shoving another fry in his mouth.

"So Delilah," Trenton spoke up, "you're going with us to the party, right?"

Nerves started to build up within the brunette when she realized all eyes were on her, waiting for her to answer. She fiddled with the cap of her water bottle. "Um, I don't know yet."

"Come on, D, you have to go," Cody insisted, "You've missed out on the last three parties. You don't wanna start off the new semester the same way."

"I've just got a lot going on at home," Delilah shrugged. Which wasn't exactly a lie.

"Well, then, you need to take your mind off of it by partying with us," Jade us, shimmying her shoulders a bit.

"I have a curfew."

"How 'bout this," Trenton started, resting his arm on the back of Delilah's chair. She scooted towards the edge of her seat. "You can ride with me to the party. When you're ready to go home, I'll take you home. How does that sound?"

If Delilah had to tell the truth, it wasn't that tempting of an offer. The last thing she wanted was to be alone in a car with Trenton. Yeah, they were close friends, but Delilah knew that the boy had ulterior motives when it came to her. He never hid the fact that he liked Delilah as more than a friend, even though she made it very clear that she didn't feel the same and had a crush on someone else. Not that Trenton ever cared about that. In fact, he straight up laughed in Delilah's face when she let it slip that she liked Scott and told her that she'll 'change her mind one of these days'.

She had to hand it to Trenton. He was a very persistent guy. He never stopped until he got what he wanted. Even though he would never get it.

Delilah wanted to decline the offer, but she knew that her friends would never stop pestering her over it until she agreed. So she just had to surrender with a sigh.

"Okay, I'll go."

"Yay!" Annie cheered, clapping her hands together, "We're gonna have so much fun, D, I promise!"

Doubtful. But if it made them all happy.

Trenton looked off to the side with a sneaky smile creeping up on his chiseled face. "You guys, check this out."

He stretched out one of his long legs out and tripped someone. The guy, who ended up being Delilah's new chemistry partner, fell onto the floor with a loud crash, causing his lunch to spill everywhere. The can of soda that was on his tray ended up exploding and spraying all over him. People around Isaac laughed at his expense, including everyone at Delilah's table. Minus the brunette.

"Watch where you're going next time, grave digger," Trenton taunted. He low-fived Emmett.

But Delilah didn't find this funny at all. She shook her head in annoyance and pushed her chair back. She crouched down in front of Isaac and helped pick up the mess created.

"Are you okay?" she asked the boy sincerely.

"I'm fine," he said quietly, keeping his head down and wiping his eyes.

"Here, let me help you-"

"I said, I'm fine!" Isaac snapped, finally looking up at Delilah.

His sudden outburst alarmed her, making her jump. When she looked at his face, the whites around his eyes were red from soda getting into them. Or holding back unshed tears. Delilah couldn't tell, but what she could tell was that Isaac was extremely embarrassed of the situation. And she didn't blame him one bit.

Her widened green eyes made Isaac soften his expression a little. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to… I gotta go." Abandoning his soiled lunch, Isaac ran out of the cafeteria.

Delilah wanted to go after him, but her feet didn't allow her to move.

"Let him go, Delilah," she heard Trenton say unbothered, like he wasn't the one who didn't absolutely humiliate the poor boy, "You don't need to waste your time on a loser like that anyway."

As much as she disagreed, and as much as she wanted to scold Trenton on treating Isaac like dirt, she couldn't bring herself to do it. That made Delilah feel just as shitty. It made her no better than them. But she still sat back down next to Trenton, kicking herself for not sticking up for Isaac when she had the chance.

Just let him be okay…

Another successful shift at the animal clinic for the books.

Dr. Deaton, Scott and Delilah's boss, had already gone home for the day, so now Scott and Delilah were finishing up their closing tasks. First item on the list, flipping the OPEN sign to CLOSED, which Scott did before excusing himself to use the restroom. Delilah, on the other hand, was sweeping over by the front desk. She swept all the dirt and debris to form a small pile when she realized that she had forgotten to grab a dustpan when she got the broom. Cursing to herself, she went to the supply closet, passing the restroom on her way.

The door to the restroom was left wide open, which was strange if Scott was in there to relieve himself. Delilah was about to close the door to give Scott privacy until she saw him lifting his shirt up to reveal his abs and a large bandage with blood staining the center. Normally Delilah would be dazed on the six pack her crush was sporting (fine, maybe she gazed on them just a tad), but it was really the bandage that caught her eye. Scott couldn't have gotten an injury like that from lacrosse, so Delilah was curious on what had happened and if he was okay.

What Scott revealed next was even stranger. He peeled off the bandage to get a closer look at what was underneath. And what was underneath? Nothing. Just smooth brown skin.

How peculiar. From the looks of it, Scott seemed just as confused. Delilah knocked on the door, making Scott jump and face her.

"Hey, are you okay?" she asked.

"Huh? Oh, yeah. Yeah." Scott lowered his shirt. "I had a bit of a scratch on my stomach. Looks like it's healed though."

"Yeah, super healed," Delilah said in suspicion, "You must be some sort of superhero if you can heal that quickly."

Scott chuckled nervously. "Some sort of super power. That's gonna come in handy for lacrosse."

"I bet. Hey, would you mind feeding the cats in the back? I just have to finish sweeping and mopping and then we'll be done."

"Yeah, sure thing."

"Cool." Delilah smiled, which Scott returned, making her swoon. Then she went to go to the supply closet like she originally planned to do.

She opened the closet door and huffed when she saw that someone had put the dustpan on the top shelf. It wasn't like Delilah was super short, standing at 5'4", but she definitely wasn't tall enough for this inconvenience. She stood on her toes to try to grab the dustpan, but she was still inches away when she stretched her fingers towards it. The tip of her tongue poked out as she stretched as much as possible with newfound determination.

Finally Delilah just decided to jump up. She grabbed the dustpan this time, knocking over all of the other cleaners on the shelf in the process. One of the bottles even shattered and blue liquid spilled all over Delilah's shoes.

Perfect. What else could go wrong today?

Aggressive hissing and howling coming from the other room had Delilah shaken out of her stupor. She ran out into the hallway just to see Scott darting out of the cat clinic and shutting the door behind him. He leaned against the door and let out a huge breath.

"What the hell was that?" Delilah asked incredulously.

"I don't know," Scott said, "but just to be on the safe side, maybe you should be the one to feed the cats from now on."

A frantic knock on the door made the two teenagers jump, neither expecting anyone else to be at the animal clinic after closing hours. Thankfully it was just a girl their age, but she was soaking wet from the rain and looked to be crying. Scott was quick to open the door.

"I didn't see it," the girl sobbed, "I took my eyes off the road for, like, two seconds to change the song on my iPod, and then this dog, it just came out of nowhere!"

"It's alright, it's alright," Scott assured her to try to calm her down, "Do you remember where it happened so I can send Animal Control to find it?"

"No! I mean, yes, I know where I hit it, but the dog is-"

"Where is it?" Scott asked.

"It's in my car," the girl cried.

"Okay," Scott nodded. He called over his shoulder. "Delilah, come help me!" The brunette rushed to his side. "Delilah, this is Allison. She's new to Beacon Hills. Allison, Delilah."

"Hi," Delilah waved. Allison, still shaken up, returned the gesture meekly.

Allison led the two out in the pouring rain to the back of her car. She popped the trunk opened to reveal a white and gray fluffy dog. The dog immediately started barking at the teenagers, making all three of them jump back. Allison backed into Scott's arms like a scene in a rom-com.

"Are you okay?" he asked in concern. Allison nodded, even though her face showed that she was clearly not.

"Poor girl's probably just scared," Delilah told them.

"That makes two of us," Allison said.

"Let me see if I have any better luck," Scott offered.

He inched closer to the dog as it continued to bark. It wouldn't let up even as Scott down to eye level with it. Oh, God, this dog was totally going to bite Scott's face off.

But then, and Delilah had no idea how he did it, Scott actually got the dog to stop growling. It suddenly began to whimper and even let the boy pet it. Allison looked at Delilah, who just shrugged, unsure how to explain how Scott became the dog whisperer.

They brought the dog into the clinic and laid it on the table so Scott and Delilah could get a better examination.

"I think her leg is broken," Scott told the girls, "Delilah and I have seen the doctor do plenty of splints. We can do it ourselves and give her a painkiller for now."

Allison only nodded. Her arms were wrapped around her body in attempt to keep herself warm from being out in the cold. Delilah was about to offer the other girl the spare jacket she kept in her book bag but Scott beat her to the punch.

"Yeah, I have a shirt in my bag," he said as he already started to unzip said bag.

"Oh, I don't want to trouble you," Allison insisted.

But Scott was already handing his shirt out to her. "Here."

Giving in, Allison took the shirt with a gracious smile and stepped out into the hallway to change. The girl didn't even realize how lucky she was to be given the opportunity that Delilah would've dreamed of.

That was when Delilah suddenly put the pieces together. Scott had a crush on Allison.

She did notice Scott peering out of the door window as Allison stripped out of her wet t-shirt, confirming her suspicions. Her back was facing towards them so it wasn't like she was exposing herself to them but that didn't stop Scott from staring.

Delilah hit his chest lightly. "Scott."

Scott scoffed. "What?" Even the dog was staring up at him like she was judging him. "I didn't see anything."

"Boys," Delilah teased, scratching the dog's head, "They really are all disgusting." The dog whimpered and licked the girl's hand. "Why don't I leave you to put the splint on her leg and give you and your new friend some alone time?"

"You sure?" Scott asked.

"Yeah, it's no problem," Delilah said, not fully believing herself, "I'll go feed the cats, which you've failed to do so. You're obviously more of a dog person anyway."

Playfully, Scott rolled his eyes. "Thanks, Delilah. You really are the best."

"And don't you forget it." Cat patted his shoulder before sneaking out of the room to go to the cat clinic.

Like she thought, Delilah was able to feed the felines with no issue. Even after they were all given food, she still didn't go back to the operating room where Scott and Allison were. She didn't think she could handle them flirting with each other right in front of her. Instead, Delilah chose to be in a dark room surrounded by copious amounts of cats. That might as well be her destiny. Crazy cat lady.

Maybe it was her fault for not telling Scott that she's had a crush on him since they were in the eighth grade. But come on. What did Delilah expect? For him to actually like her back? It's not like she and Scott really talked much outside of work. And they've never really flirted either. That was mostly due to them not being in the same friend group. Not to mention Scott was awkward as hell and Delilah was nervous over boys that she didn't hang out on the daily. Still, Delilah knew that Scott didn't like her in that way. Why would he? Yeah, she may have been popular, but status meant nothing to her. Clearly. Popularity didn't mean that Scott would automatically go for her. And compared to girls like Lydia Martin and now Allison, who was tall and drop dead gorgeous, Delilah didn't always feel she was pretty enough for a guy like Scott. For anyone, really.

That didn't mean Delilah couldn't still be a part of Scott's life though. They would still always hang out at work and say hello to each other at school. Delilah would always be around to see Scott be happy. That was what she cared about the most.

After about twenty more minutes of talking to herself and the cats, the brunette figured it was now safe to come out of hiding. Delilah returned the tabby back into his cage and got up from the floor, wiping the fur off her jeans she changed into for work. She walked out just as Scott walked back in the clinic with the goofiest of grins.

"So," she drew out, "how did it go?"

"Good," Scott shrugged, "Great." He was practically bouncing on his heals. "I got a date to Lydia's party on Friday night."

"Really?" Delilah forced out a smile. "Wow, that's exciting! Good for you, Scott."

"Thanks," Scott said, "First I kicked ass during practice and now I've got a date with probably the most beautiful girl I've ever met." Well that stung right in the heart. Not that Scott would've even noticed. "Man, I had a great day today." He walked back in the operating room, leaving Delilah standing there, smile starting to fade away.

"I'm glad one of us did, Scott McCall."
