10: Worth
Lena's heat faded by the middle of day three. She woke up from a nap and could feel the utter, yet delicious and satisfying soreness of her nether regions. But, this heat had been epic, historic even, and she felt absolutely perfect as she basked in the aftermath of it. Definitely a shift in this three way relationship. There was something new, something grand before them.
"Should I get snacks or do you want to just lay here?" Kara asked, arm over Lena's bare abdomen, fingers caressing her.
"Let's lay here. Alex is still asleep," Lena replied. Alex's light breath tickling her shoulder was soothing.
Kara chuckled. "We wore her out."
Lena shuddered at the memories, already excited for her next heat. She stretched out, trying to get the soreness out of her limbs. "Yeah, but it was great." What would Alex's rut be like?
"It really was. I felt so connected to both of you and that's still there, even though your heat is over." Kara moved a hand to Lena's side. "I now have a better understanding of how and why you're both my bond-mates. You both fill spaces inside of me I didn't know were there. You both made me, make me who I am. There is no Kara, be it Kara Zor-El, Kara Danvers, or Supergirl, without you two."
Lena could not help kissing Kara and then smiling at her. "You both make me want to be a better Lena, the best Lena, to keep up with you." She wanted to be worthy of sharing space with them. "I feel so much closer to you now, too, like there's a glow in my soul." There was some kind of warmth all throughout her that had no choice but to be with her forever and always, as long as she had her Danvers with her.
Kara grinned. "That's me." She put her hand to her heart. "I always feel you and Alex right here, a gentle warmth that lets me know everything will be all right and I'm loved." She sighed. "I feel it even more now, like you two combined. I really wasn't expecting your heat to impact me this way. I mean, I love getting you through it and it always stirs up emotions, but this seemed so… big."
Lena laughed. "Really using that reporter's vocabulary, huh?" Honestly, she would not be able to fully describe how she felt now either. It was like being surrounded by a protective light and invigorated enough to take on the sun.
With a chuckle, Kara kissed her forehead. "Let me have this one. My brain's just as foggy as yours. While your pheromones don't affect me like a human, you being aroused is more than enough to knock me off my feet. And having Alex right there with you the whole time…" Kara just blew out a breath. "My thoughts may never be straight again."
"Hopefully, you're right about that." Lena took a breath and gave Kara a squeeze. "This was definitely different, though." Lena was not sure if she would ever be able to pin down what made it so different, beyond Alex's presence anyway. But, it was like being a new person now that she was on the other side of it. Or maybe just a better person.
"So, we're doing this for my rut, too?" Alex asked with a yawn.
"If you'll have me," Lena replied, quietly. Would I even be able to survive feeling like this a second time? She was more than willing to find out.
Alex scoffed. "If I'll have you." She snuggled closer, rubbing her nose into Lena's shoulder. "If not you and Kara, then who? Consider this a formal and official invite to all my ruts and other sexual activities. After all, you did claim me."
Lena smiled. "Of course I did. You know what you did to me. Feel free to do the same during your rut. You are mine, though." It felt good to say without her heat clouding her thinking. While they might not exchange marks for a long time to come, Alex was her alpha and she would not have it any other way.
"I'm happy to be yours," Alex replied and she rubbed her nose into Lena's shoulder before giving her a small kiss. Lena preened against her lips.
Kara groaned. "How can you both manage so many words? My brain barely wants to offer my own name as information."
"Well, I had sleep unlike you," Alex replied and she kissed Lena's shoulder. Lena could not help the slight purr that escaped her.
"Got me there. So, food now?" As if on cue, Kara's stomach growled.
Lena laughed. "If I might suggest a quick shower for all of us and then we meet in the bath where we can then order food and eat on the couch." She was not sure how Kara would feel about not having food immediately, but this was her dream way of finishing off an amazing heat.
Kara gasped, jaw actually dropping. "That is brilliant! This is why you're the resident genius."
"Agreed," Alex said.
"But, one of you has to hold me up. My legs are done." Lena was serious. She did not mind, as it was a great excuse just to be close to her bond-mate and her girlfriend. Perfect.
Her Danvers laughed, but of course they had her. They helped her out of bed and Kara picked her up bridal style. She smiled at Kara, taking in her wild hair and just loving the sight. She nuzzled Kara for a long moment, inhaling and smelling all of them fused together. Do we all smell like this? It was so good. She would have to smell Alex before they showered.
They went into the bathroom connected to the main bedroom. The shower was big enough for all of them with multiple shower heads, so they would all be able to get water. There was also a bench in the shower, which was good for her. Alex moved to start the water and Lena whined.
"Wait, come here." Lena waved Alex over.
Alex arched an eyebrow, but came over nonetheless. "What?"
Lena leaned forward, nose going right to Alex's bare chest. Oh, yeah. Lena shivered as she inhaled. Alex was drenched in the aroma of all of them, but just a hint of herself underneath. Her alpha musk was like a drug that brought on instant euphoria. How the hell did omegas leave her bed? Leave her? Well, you should know, you didn't even realize what a catch she was until recently.
Both Kara and Alex laughed. Alex ran her hand through Lena's hair, which Lena could only imagine was a spectacular mess, but she did not have the will to look over at the mirror just opposite the shower. With a dip of her head, Alex gave her a gentle kiss.
"Feel better now?" Alex asked.
Lena let loose a content sigh. "Much."
Alex stepped away again and started the water. Kara placed Lena down on the shower bench before she and Alex stepped in as well. The water warmed very quickly, raining down on them. There was nothing really sexual, beyond three very sexy women wet in a shower. Lena did not even have the energy to let her imagination run wild. Maybe in a few days, she would remember this and try it again, but for now, she just wanted the hot water on her sore body.
Kara and Alex washed each other, including hair, and then turned their efforts to Lena. Lena groaned as they scrubbed her with expensive body wash and shampoo and tender, loving appreciation, like attendants caring for a princess. Kara stepped out to start their bath while Alex massaged Lena's legs, earning more groans and gratitude from Lena. Despite being able to stand, Kara picked Lena up when she came back and carried her to the bath, which had bubbles and oils. She also put the jets on.
Lena sighed as she sank into the water. Kara and Alex followed in. The tub fit all of them as easily as the shower did. Lena put herself in the middle of Kara and Alex, needing to feel both of them. She sighed once more. This had to be heaven. And, if Heaven did not have this, she did not want it.
"You okay?" Alex asked in a soft voice, hand rubbing in between Lena's shoulder blades.
Lena was more than ready to become one with the water from the gentle touch. Hands that could kill a person were so careful on her, tender on her. The care both of these women gave her was so much. Lena could never want for more.
Lena smiled. "Yeah, just basking in this feeling of having both of you." She scrunched her shoulders a little, just to give Alex an idea of how much she liked the massage.
Kara kissed the top of her head. "You do have both of us. We all have each other." She put her hand on Lena's thigh and gave a little squeeze.
"Yes, and that's amazing," Lena replied.
"It really is. Thank you both for letting me in," Alex said.
Lena scoffed and moved to kiss Alex because she wanted nothing more than to kiss away all of Alex's doubts and insecurities. "Alex, you were already in with Kara. You both just needed to realize it. I'm glad we made it to this point, though."
Alex groaned as if pained and her shoulder rub stopped for a moment as she balled up her hands into fists. "Fine. Kara, you were right."
Kara laughed. "I know and I'm sure that killed you to admit."
Alex sucked her teeth. "You can't be smug about it, though."
"I promise I won't be." Kara gave an impish grin. "I'm loving this journey we're on together. Now, can we enjoy this bath and also do this more often? I love baths with you two."
They enjoyed the bath from that point. Lena slid over Kara's lap and put her in the middle. Let her really enjoy the bath. But, Kara pulled Lena into her lap and Alex curled against them. Okay, perfect. After, they laid out on the couch with movies and takeout.

The next day, Kara and Alex were on their own. Lena had a lot of work to catch up on and Kara had to resist the urge to get her to just relax for one more day. Lena could always use a break, but she also had a heavy responsibility and Kara understood that.
Alex knew how to keep herself and Kara occupied. She and Kara would hit the gym. Kara did not object. They had been pretty neglectful of this for the past couple of weeks. They could not afford to slack, especially since they did not have the might of the DEO behind them anymore.
"We need to stay in shape," Alex said. Alex was the definition of in shape, standing before her in just a powder blue sports bra and short, dark blue mesh shorts that barely went to mid-thigh.
"For your rut?" Kara grinned and wiggled her eyebrows. Considering what Lena's heat was like, Kara could not fathom how Alex's rut might be. Could they become any closer than they were now? Of course they could. Kara would burn with Rao's eternal light inside of her if Alex's rut was anything like what they just went through.
Alex palmed her face and shook her head. "Please, stop."
Kara laughed as she put her hands behind her back, displaying a band t-shirt she yanked from Alex a long time ago. I really should've known she was in my blood at that point. She had taken the shirt simply because it smelled like Alex and when the smell faded, she still wore it because it was Alex's.
"I'll be in the best shape for that," Kara promised. "And I won't be bothered if you and Lena mark each other."
Alex rolled her eyes and turned on the red sun lamps. While Kara waited for her powers to fade, Alex did her warm-up exercises. Kara watched her, one part hungry, one part envy. Alex was humanity at its peak physically and intellectually. Even on Krypton, Alex would have been considered exceptional. While on Earth, Kara was just… lucky. It was just a chance she landed somewhere with a yellow sun to gain powers and her brain processed information on a higher level than the native species. Alex was exceptional no matter what. Thank you, Rao, for this light you have bestowed upon me in my darkest time.
She used to wonder, consumed by the "what did I do to deserve losing my whole family, my whole planet, my everything?" The best she had always come up with was that she was a curse, a plague. But, now, she tended to wonder what she had done to deserve her bond-mates, her Earth family. What had she done that was so right to be blessed with this? She might never know, but she would always be grateful for them and she would always fight for them.
"Hey, start your shadow boxing routine," Alex reminded her.
Kara jumped. "Oh, right!" This gave Alex a chance to check her form. She had a long way to go, but she would have fun getting there. "You act like I'm so bad, but we both know I could beat Kal in a fight with ease now." Of course, that did not say much, according to Alex.
"You two would just end up in a punch fest, anyway, which is crazy to me. As smart as you both are, you always just punch stuff," Alex said.
"Because I can just punch him until he goes down," Kara replied, as if it was obvious, which it was. She could punch Kal down as much as she could do it to her other enemies. It would just take longer.
Alex shook her head. "I really wish you didn't mean that. One day, you'll realize you need to fight smarter, not just punch everything until it goes down."
"Punching is a winning strategy, so therefore it is smarter." Kara wagged her finger at Alex, who rolled her eyes.
After their warmups, they hit the mat. It was two hours of Kara getting dropped as usual. But, she was able to hold her own for a little longer than she used to. And, every now and then, Alex had to do something new to stop her. Progress.
"You're getting better," Alex said as she wiped her sweaty brow, flinging her hair back. Wet hair should not be so sexy, but it was.
Kara grinned and bounced on her heels. "See, I'm not so bad!"
Alex shook her head. "I didn't say all of that."
Kara's face fell. "Aw! Come on! You can admit it!" She grabbed Alex around the shoulders and buried her nose in Alex's neck. "I don't get Lena's fascination with you being stinky and sweaty." It was somewhat of a lie, but she liked to say it because it bugged Alex. Yes, Alex was stinky, but the sweat definitely added flavor.
With a laugh, Alex shoved her away, forgetting she was so much stronger than red-sunned Kara. Kara almost fell over. Alex grabbed her quickly, pulling her close, and held her in a way that made her body hotter than usual.
"Sorry about that," Alex said.
"No, it's fine. I like experiencing your strength and I know you're not trying to hurt me." Kara kissed her because this seemed like a great opportunity.
"I would never hurt you," Alex whispered against Kara's lips, moving her arms around Kara's waist.
"I know." Kara pressed for a deeper kiss and was rewarded with Alex's tongue. Her knees went weak and Alex held her up, as expected. She pulled away and stared into the eyes that saved her, eyes that dragged her out of an abyss. "Now, let's get you a shower because watching you in action is great, but the sweat…" Kara shook her head.
"You're awful!" Alex chuckled, but did not let her go.
Kara laughed and kissed Alex's neck. Alex tilted her head, giving Kara more access. Kara gobbled up every inch of skin she could and then dragged her teeth down. Alex hissed.
"You keep this up and I'm going to be a lot more sweaty," Alex said.
Kara moaned and her stomach clinched. "I'd take you up on that, but we should get cleaned up and check on Lena before doing something that will definitely result in a longer disappearance than she anticipated."
"Looks like your vocabulary finally came back." Alex gave her a teasing grin.
Kara snickered. "Shut up."
They went their separate ways for showers. Kara finished up first, as always. She did not get dressed, first going to see if Lena was done yet. She went into Lena's office, wrapped in a towel, coming up behind Lena. She put her head on Lena's shoulder as Lena typed on her laptop.
"Hey, love," Lena said, leaning back just enough to touch her cheek to Kara's.
"You still working?" Kara asked. Damn, I could've let Alex bang me against the wall in the gym. Ah well. Some other time.
Lena sighed. "Unfortunately. So much to catch up on."
Kara rubbed her shoulders. "Then, we should continue to leave you alone?"
"I would appreciate it."
Kara kissed the top of Lena's head. "Your wish is our command. I'll get Alex to take me out for ice cream."
"Enjoy."
"Might also get her to take me against a wall."
Lena groaned. "Are you teasing me?"
"Yes and no. The opportunity came up, but I passed because I didn't want you to get worried over us being gone for longer than you thought we'd be."
Lena tucked her bottom lip between her teeth. "Dammit, now that's just going to be in my head."
"Finish up soon and you might be able to see it in real life."
"Just go eat your damn ice cream and if there's any wall sex, I expect to be treated to the same when I'm done."
Kara chirped. "I promise we will." She kissed Lena on the lips and then left her alone.
Kara went to get dressed, throwing on a casual, yellow sundress. Then, she waited for Alex on Alex's bed. Alex stepped out of her bathroom, toweling off her hair.
"What's up?" Alex asked.
"Lena's still working. I told her you'd take me for ice cream, so we'll stay out of her hair."
Alex nodded. "I can do that. I just need to get dressed, obviously."
"I just want to watch." Kara grinned.
Alex shrugged. She dropped her towel, hardly in a way of showing off like she should, and stepped into some black boxers and then put on a plain black bra. Black was definitely her color. She put on black jeans with tears in the knees, a dark gray Henley, and socks. Her boots were by the door. She was always such a damn snack.
They stepped out onto the street, with Kara wrapped around Alex's arm. The direct sunlight, kind and giving, restored her powers quickly, but she held onto Alex no matter what. She knew how to hold Alex, with powers, without, and with her powers easing back to her.
They made their way to the nearest park, got ice cream cones, and sat down on a bench that overlooked a field where people played with their dogs. Kara loved this spot. Maybe one day they would get a dog. The possibilities were endless.
"So, this has been a long time coming, but you were right, about everything. Not just Lena's heat, or me dating Lena, or us being bond-mates, but every damn thing," Alex said before licking her chocolate scoop.
Kara sucked her teeth. "I'm not looking for an 'I told you so moment,' so you can stop bringing it up. I'm glad we made it here. I just want us all to be happy." She bit the top off of her chocolate and vanilla swirl before licking the sides.
Alex sighed and leaned forward, tasting her ice cream again. "I really can't believe this works. We work. Not just the three of us, but you and me." Haunted lines appeared under her eyes. She was allowing regret to take root.
Kara sighed and focused solely on Alex. "I need you to stop beating yourself up over that. This happened the way it needed to happen because it needs to be three of us. So, please, just enjoy this. Enjoy us."
With a nod, Alex smiled. "I'm doing my best. I don't think I've ever been this good in life. I mean, romantically, professionally, socially. I just… Thank you for all of this." She patted Kara's bare knee with her free hand.
"Please, don't thank me as if I did something out of my way for you. I want and need this as much as you do. Besides, I've hurt as much as I've helped." Kara had a little more of her ice cream. "Watching over me is why you ended up working for the DEO in the first place."
"Don't say it like that. Yeah, I had a lot of ups and downs with the DEO, but I really enjoyed it at times and it made me who I am today. I am proud of who I am today. I miss being an agent, yes, but I get to live those times going out with you and now being Lena's bodyguard. I now have a best friend with Vasquez and I have you and Lena. Not to mention, the increased pay in L-Corp is nice."
Kara smiled. "I'm so glad you're happy. That's all I've ever wanted for you, with you."
"And that's all I've ever wanted for you, and with you, too."
"We're a pair, aren't we?" Kara rested her head on Alex's shoulder. "I should've known no matter what you were a piece of my soul. Even now, you make me feel like no one else ever has. Yes, Lena's my bond-mate and I love her dearly, but you still make me feel so different. You've always been the only one who could keep the nightmares at bay."
Alex smiled and she patted Kara's thigh. "I want to protect you from every horror and let you shine like the sun you are. You're pure sunshine."
Kara popped up, so Alex could see her grin. "Now, why can't that be my term of endearment instead of Stitch?"
"You like Stitch, but I'll add it to the short list." Alex blew out a long breath and leaned back on the bench, licking her ice cream.
Kara gave things a moment, letting the silence settle calmly between them. She enjoyed half of her ice cream, but then had to put things out there, if only to mentally prepare Alex for the inevitable. "Now, I'm not trying to ruin anything, but you know how I'm always thinking ahead."
"Uh-huh."
"You think you might bite Lena during your rut and be mates with her?"
Alex stared off into the distance for a while. "I think if things continue as they are, we'll get there. Not during this rut, though. I've been very controlled about marking since trying to mark you, but I almost lost control when Lena helped me through my rut. She affects me more than I could've imagined. I'm really happy dating her, so eventually I think I'd mark her and really be hers."
Kara nodded and smiled. "I think that might complete our little circle."
"Yes, but I don't think I'd do that any time soon."
Kara nodded, but did not say anything. Alex had made similar statements throughout this journey with them and was not quite right. But, it was good that she could see herself marking Lena, good to know she could see a future with them. This relationship held promise and a future and they could all see that.
-8-8-8-8-
Alex yawned and shut down her computer, ready to go to lunch with Vasquez. Vasquez was given the day that had been reserved for Kara and Lena because she had just spent the entire weekend with them. They thought she needed to spend time with others. That was fine.
There was a knock at her little office door. Probably Vasquez to make sure she was not still working. But, nope. Not Vasquez. It was Fatimah, who she had not seen in several days.
"Hey, Alex. Just wanted to check on you since you are out Friday," Fatimah said.
Alex nodded. "I'm good. I had a doctor's appointment about my ankle." Her accident was always a good excuse for why she was out.
Fatima's eyes went right to the aforementioned body part. "You're okay? Leg giving you problems?"
"No, this was just routine. Lemme guess, more rumors?" Alex would be grateful for the day L-Corp found something else to talk about.
Fatimah nodded. "Because Miss Luthor was out, too. There's also speculation that she was out because of her heat, which is a little gross. I mean, who's tracking that?"
Alex grimaced. "Let's hope no one, but I'm sure there is someone around here with just enough time on their hands to be doing that."
Fatimah shuddered. "It's gross to think about. But, yes, the rumors have now dialed up to the point that you were essentially fucking the boss through her heat, especially since they've been talking about Kara being a beta or something. It's all gross."
Alex rolled her eyes. "This is going to be more annoying than dealing with them thinking I don't deserve to be here." Why can't they just mind their damn business? They would definitely talk until something juicier came along and she was not sure what that was. It did not even matter anymore. No one would be able to steal her joy.
"Yes, well, you know, it helps add to them believing that's how you ended up here. I thought you might have heard these rumors already. I just wanted to make sure you were okay."
A smile settled on Alex's face. "Thanks. I don't care about that stuff. I'm more worried about what they do here when I'm not here. No one tried to come into my office, did they? I know they're still trying to see what I'm working on."
"No one tried as far as I know, but I don't get that. I mean, we all know about the work you did with Miss Luthor on the suppressant thing that's just waiting to go to market."
Alex waved that off. "I'm not worried about that, honestly."
"I need to check on you to make sure you're working on your own stuff, too." Fatimah wagged a finger in her face. "Have you made any progress on the accelerant healing formula you shared with me? I'm still trying to make sense of what you have there."
Alex laughed. "I promise you, I am. And, you'll figure it out. I think my accident made me figure it out a lot faster. You know, necessity being the mother of all inventions and whatnot."
"I think I'd rather just sit down with you and you explain it to me. Is that good?"
Alex nodded. "I could do that, but not right now. I'm having lunch with Vasquez and she gets on my case when I'm late."
"We have to have lunch one day and you can give me a rundown."
Blowing out a breath, Alex ran her hand through her hair. "There's only so many days in a week." Fatimah was well aware of daily lunch appointments.
"You should feel bad that people have to take you to lunch to make sure you eat."
Alex chuckled and scratched her head. "Trust me, I don't. I don't mind at this point since it forces me to socialize. You also force me to socialize because you come and poke your head in here to make sure I'm not dead, which I'm learning is a good thing. Wanna make a date of it tomorrow?" She would have to reschedule her usual lunch date, but everyone would be happy to know she made a friend at work beyond Vasquez, even if the friend was technically an ex.
Fatimah scoffed. "I'm not making any date with you because the second a butch alpha walks by, I'm leaving you."
Alex laughed and held her hands up in surrender. "Okay, I deserved that. But, seriously, tomorrow, lunch?"
Fatimah nodded. "Sounds good. But, you have to be serious about walking me through this formula, too."
Alex smiled. "I promise. You'll get it. It's not nearly as hard as it looks."
Fatimah side-eyed her, but Alex just continued to smile. She walked Fatimah out then met Vasquez at the front of the building. They walked to their agreed upon destination, a new noodle shop a few blocks away. They ordered, grabbed their food at the counter, and sat down in the back of the small shop.
"So, how are you doing? You were out," Vasquez said and then she blew on her steaming ramen.
Alex nodded. "Lena's heat."
"Ah." Vasquez tasted her food and hissed. Still hot, but she did not let that stop her.
Alex did not even bother to try her stir fried noodles, letting them cool off. "I've been thinking about my life since it was over. This is possibly the best it's ever been and you're part of the reason for that."
Vasquez coughed, a noodle actually coming out of her nose. "Me?" She grabbed a napkin to free the noodle from her nostril.
"You're obviously my best friend, Vas. I know you might not feel the same about me. I mean, you have way more of a life than I do, but you're one of the people who helps keep me going, getting me through tough times, and I'm grateful for you."
Vasquez wiped her nose. "You're getting soft on me, Danvers." A smirk danced on her face.
"Never, Vasquez. Never. You've kept me together through a lot, though, especially after the DEO folded."
"Hey, this is mutual. I get to do work I like and can make a difference thanks to you dragging me to L-Corp with you."
"I bet Short Stack likes the pay increase," Alex chuckled at her own joke.
Vasquez laughed. "You have to stop making fun of her height. She's going to kick your ass one of these days. She's tiny, but mighty."
"She's going to have to deal with it, especially since I'm hoping we can get to be better friends. We need to do stuff outside of work and shooting stuff."
There was a slow nod. "I'd like that. I don't have a lot of close friends."
"That's a shame. You're kind of awesome." Alex let loose an easy grin, one she would usually only give Kara or Lena.
Vasquez glanced away and coughed. "Well, that's how I've felt about you for a long time."
Alex could feel the blush burn her cheeks. "Thanks for that. And, since you know about the relationship, we could maybe go on double-dates and such. Or you know, you guys could come over and hang out sometimes." She would have to talk about it with Lena and Kara, but she doubted they would object.
Vasquez stared at her for a long moment and Alex's stomach fluttered. Maybe that was too much. Vasquez always seemed like a private person and she probably wanted to keep that up.
"You're really ready for Lucy like that?" Vasquez asked with an arched eyebrow, like she did not believe it.
"Kara will distract her for me." Alex smiled, certain that was true.
"Well, that's not even fighting fair."
"I refuse to fight fair with Lucy."
Vasquez laughed. "Good call. It'll be nice to hang out with you and maybe make some more friends."
Alex smiled, happiness warming her chest. They had a fairly regular lunch. They returned to work and Alex focused on her main project, trying to figure out how to get her accelerated healing formula to work for more than her. Brainy checked in every now and then, but he allowed her to do the heavy lifting as he had his own stuff going on. Then, the day was over and she packed up, made a stop for Kara, and headed home.
Home being the penthouse. She went in through her "secret" entrance, as Kara liked to call it because there were still moments she wanted to be a child. Hopefully, it would be her main entrance, as she had one more thing she needed to do with her bond-mate and girlfriend. Once she was inside, she sighed, feeling the weight of the world lift off of her. And then Kara was on her, hugging her. Yup, home. She gave Kara a brief peck and held up her bounty.
"Donuts for me?" Kara squealed.
"Well, a couple in there are Lena's favorites, but other than that, yes, the box is for you," Alex replied.
Kara giggled. "You take such good care of me." She used her super speed to put the box on the counter and then embraced Alex yet again. "How was work?"
"Good. Lena in yet?" Alex struggled to shrug out of her leather jacket with Kara wrapped around her, but eventually Kara got the hint and let her go. Kara hung up the jacket for her.
"Nope. She'll probably come in in about an hour. She gets like this when she's behind in work. It gives me time to set up a relaxing atmosphere. You can go take a shower and stuff. I'll start the setup and you can jump in if you want to or observe."
Alex nodded. She would help Kara set up and also throw a dash of what Kara needed to relax in there as well. Of course, the dozen donuts would already be a great help. She went to take a long, hot shower. She returned to Kara, dressed in just her underwear, a blue sports bra and crimson boxer-briefs. Kara stopped what she was doing and rushed right over to Alex, wrapping her arms around Alex's waist. Alex chuckled.
"You're trying to tempt me, huh?" Kara asked in a whisper.
"I'm just trying to be comfortable. Don't you want me to be comfortable at home?" Alex replied.
Kara whimpered. "Home…" She repeated it in a low voice, like if she said it any louder Alex would run. "You said that before, after the cruise. I take it you mean it."
"I mean it enough to really want to move in. Like clear out my apartment and put my stuff in my room or around here where it'll fit. I mean, I'll have to keep the apartment, but I'd like to have my stuff here." It was time to take that step.
Kara squealed, which was not really surprising. She bounced like she was ready to take off into space. "You're going to tell Lena, right?"
"I am. Tonight. Is she here yet?"
"Taking a shower, too. I set up the couch for us. Dinner is on the way."
"What did you order?"
"Jamaican food. Don't worry, you've got curry chicken coming."
"Nice. I love you so much." She kissed Kara and Kara laughed.
Lena came out just as they finished. "Oh, I want in on that."
They all exchanged a kiss and then Alex gave Lena her own kiss. They made their way to the sofa. Alex made a pit stop just to grab Kara's favorite blanket. Kara grinned and took the blanket, tucking it under her chin. Alex and Lena sat next to each other while Kara laid across them, wrapped in that hot blanket. Alex put her arm around Lena while resting her other arm on Kara's waist.
"So, you gonna tell Lena or what?" Kara asked.
Alex chuckled. "You want to give me a second to just settle in?"
Lena looked between them. "Tell me what?"
Alex took a deep breath. "The past couple of weeks have been very eye opening for me. I've finally come to terms with being an equal part of this, not just someone extra. Yes, I know, you tell me all the time and I said I got it before, but it's finally taken root. You both are my home, like I said before. And, since you are my home, I want to be with you, fully committed to both of you, as a couple, but also as a trio."
"Get to the best part." Kara grinned and her eyes sparkled.
"I want to really move in. I'll keep coming in through my entrance to avoid outside suspicions, but I want to put my stuff here. I want people to walk in and know I live here with both of you," Alex said.
Lena's eyes shimmered. "Do you mean that?"
"Yeah… unless you think it's too soon?" Alex asked, trying to keep her face normal, but she winced just a little.
Lena laughed, but it sounded like a sob. "We wanted you to stay back when you got hurt. This is home and we want you here as much as we want each other here. You're not extra. You're part of us."
Alex smiled. "I know."
With a sniffle, Lena managed a wobbly smile in return. "I'm glad."
Kara reached up and caressed Alex's cheek. "We're both overjoyed to have you here and we always want you here. Like Lena said, you're part of us." Alex did not doubt that anymore. She was meant to be with these two.

The End.
A/N: so, yeah, I have to write at least one more of these because we need to see Alex's rut. Things I would like to touch in the next one: Alex's rut, Lena and Kara getting properly married, exploring what it means for Alex and Lena to be Kara's bond-mates and part of her soul (I actually have no idea what I mean by this bond-mates thing), and possibly have Lena and Alex exchanging mating marks. Ideas people asked for that I still didn't quite get to: bringing back the Superfriends (I'm trying. We should see James more in the next one and I gotta bring Winn back somehow) and also having Lena save the day. What about you? Any suggestions? Consider how this story was built largely off of suggestions from readers.
