2 MONTHS LATER
Jade and Kung Lao have been spending a lot of time together over the past two months. Despite the fact that they have not officially acknowledged their relationship, they have enjoyed each other's company, including spent Thanksgiving together. Today was the last day of the Thanksgiving holiday, and the Mortal Kombat cast had to return to Angbotain the next morning to resume filming the Mortal Kombat 9 revival film. Jade and Lao are currently in China, seeing the country and eventually paying a visit to Arthur at Bo rai Cho's.

Snow began to fall from the skies after the two had been at Bo Rai Cho's for almost an hour. Kung Lao made the decision to take Jade to Yuyuan Garden. During the winter, the garden was transformed into a winter wonderland, with Christmas ornaments hung from the trees and lights twinkling. He knew Jade would be thrilled to see such a scene.
"Alright Bo Rai Cho it was nice seeing you and thanks again for looking after Arthur I greatly appreciate it, we have to get going now before the blizzard comes." Lao said as he waved goodbye.
"You're welcome Kung Lao! It's always a pleasure!"
YUYUAN GARDEN
Jade was in awe as she walked around the garden. "It's lovely here," she said as she welcomed the scenery.
Lao thought now was the ideal time to ask her about making it official. He took a deep breath, and began speaking as they walked around. "Me and Liu Kang came here a lot when we were younger."
"Really? So this must be a special area for you." Jade said still mesmerized at the sight.
"It is, I come here whenever I feel overwhelmed. I knew you would enjoy the atmosphere so I figured I share this with you."
"I appreciate you sharing this experience with me Lao." Jade said while smiling at him
"Of course. That's not everything I want to tell you; I've been thinking, we spent so much time together and..." Jade ran to a bridge before Kung Lao could finish, shouting, "Shaolin, look! A bunny! "Do you believe it's cold?" She said as she approached the small creature.
"No I don't think so. Rabbits have thick fur pads on the bottoms of their feet and they often take shelter underground during winter." Answered Kung Lao
"Huh? That was something I had no idea about. Look, it's fleeing, most likely to seek shelter before the blizzard arrives, as you predicted." after a few moments of stillness, Jade felt cold snow strike the back of her head. She quickly turned around to see Kung Lao staring at a tree.
Smirking, she scooped up a handful of snow and rolled it into a ball. "did you see that?" She said this while concealing the snowball behind her back.
"See what?" Lao asked while turning in her direction and trying to hold back a laugh.
"This" with one swing Jade threw the snow ball at Kung Lao face causing his hat to fall off his head.
"Wow so that's how it is eh?" he said while wiping the snow and picking up his hat off the ground "Just to let you know you started this war and I'll finish it."
"Oooo I'm so scared" Jade said with laughter
"You ought to be. Because you're now up against the Great Kung Lao." Lao returned his hat to his head and ran his fingertips along the brim of it, creating a brief light sound.
The two continued to fight with snowballs until the sun set and the snowstorm began. "We should find some shelter before the blizzard hits," Jade stated with a big smile. She was having a great time with Kung Lao and didn't want the night to finish.
"You're right. Want to start heading back to Angbotain?"
"I don't think we'll make it to the portal in time." Jade said with concern. "Do you know somewhere else that's closer?"
"My house is just up the hill. We can take cover there until the storm passes, then return to Angbotain, if that's okay with you?"
"Yes that's perfect. Let's get going"
Kung Lao then took Jade's hand and led her to his home
After Jade and Kung Lao walked into the house, Lao gave Jade a quick tour and then made her some tea.
"Could I interest you in some tea, Jade? The air temperature is low."
"Yes please." Jade said as she looked at his house. On top of the lit fireplace was a small painting of young Lao holding a baby rabbit. Jade took it and began to analyze the photo.
"That's cute. When did you get him?" She asked
"Arthur? We've been together for a long time. My father gifted him to me. He's was born in the sky temple that is way he lived for so long."
"Interesting" Jade said as she put the picture back
"Yes, Arthur has always been with me. He saw me grow up into the man I am now." As he gave Jade her mug, Kung Lao said this.
"Yes, a very handsome man that is."
Jade saying that made Lao blush a bit. He was able to hide it and instead smiled at her
"How's the tea?" He asked
"Very good, peppermint?"

After a few moments of silence Kung Lao knew it was time for him to speak up and ask her to be his. He wanted him and Jade to be exclusive to one another. Before Lao could speak up, Jade broke the silence.
"The blizzard seems to be getting worse out there, and I'm not sure if we'll make it back to Angbotain tonight." She told him
When she said this, Lao looked out his window and saw that it was snowing heavily.
"You're right... if you want to, you could stay here tonight. I'll sleep on the couch while you use the bedroom."
"I'll love that. Thank you for the tea. It was quite refreshing." Jade said while handing him the empty mug.
Lao took the mug, headed towards the kitchen and placed them in the sink.
"It's getting kind of late, want to call it a night?" She asked
"Sure, I'll set up the room in a second. You can have a seat on the couch and I'll let you know when I'm done." He replied.
While Kung Lao was setting up the room, he kept coming up with ways to start the conversation. He finally chose to tell her when he was done making the bed.
"The room is ready for you now and you can use my bathroom to freshen up. I'm not sure if you're interested but I place one of my T shirts on the bed for you. You're happy to wear it so you can be sleep comfortably."
Jade got up and smiled at him, "Thank you that's perfect. Care to freshen up before me? I can wait here until you're done." she asked.
"It's fine, I have another restroom down the hall that I can use. Please take care of yourself and let me know if you need anything."
Jade smiled brightly and said "Ok I'll see you in the morning." Then walked into the room and shut the door.
After Kung Lao shower he setup the couch for himself and pondered in his thoughts. He wanted to ask her tonight, but was afraid she wouldn't say yes. He didn't think about it for too long before deciding to knock on the bedroom door and tell her before she went to sleep.

"Did you need something?" Asked Jade with worry.
"I just wanted to make sure you were okay." Lao told
"Yes, thank you very much for checking" Jade said with a smile
"Not a problem, did you need something?" Kung Lao asked
"No, I just wanted to say thanks for letting me use your room."
"Yes, of course... Can I come inside? Kung Lao said to Jade, "I want to talk to you."
Jade let the Shaolin monk into the room and shut the door.

"Kung Lao I…" Jade spoke slowly, but her phone alarm cut her off. When she looked at her phone, jumped out of bed and started getting ready right away.

"Umm, is there something wrong?" he asked. Even though he was still upset about what had happened, he cared about her and wanted to know why she had left so quickly.
"I forgot this morning is my turn to film. I have to go, but I promise we'll talk soon." After saying this, Jade ran out of her room.
Kung Lao didn't know what to say or do. He just got up, put on a towel, and went to the bathroom for a shower.
