Chapter 3
Cleansing Fire
Sanji uttered a groan as he slowly sat himself up. When he opened his eyes, all he could see was a blood-red void that went on forever. Unnerved, he looked around the area for any signs of his friends-
"RHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
The unmistakable bellow of the Argentinosaurus assaulted Sanji's eardrums as the Cook whirled around to see the decaying abomination towering over him! Without even wondering how it just suddenly materialized out of thin air, Sanji bolted to the right but he could not move his feet at all. It was like they were glued to the ground no matter how hard he tried to lift his foot. The sauropod lashed out at Sanji like a cobra and clamped its misshapen teeth down on the Cook's abdomen!
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!" Sanji screamed as he felt its teeth dig into his insides! The beast released Sanji from its maw, dropping him to the red-tinted floor. The cook puked blood as his wounds bled profusely...and started to putrify. The entire half of Sanji's body turned green and dissolved before the horrified pirate's eyes until a whole chunk of his abdomen just sloughed off his body! The Cook gagged up more blood at the sight of his internal organs; no scream escaped his lips.
He watched his organs melt into a putrid slop as the contagion spread to the rest of his body. The skin on his fingers melted to the point where he could see the bone and his flesh dribbled off his skull. Sanji collapsed to the floor in a gooey heap, the last thing he saw before his eyeballs slid out of his skull was the Argentinosaurus biting his friends and liquefying them just like him...
PREHISTORIC ISLAND-MANY HOURS LATER
"GYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!"
"Sanji!"
The Cook woke up screaming his head off but stopped as soon as he heard the voice of his Captain. His blurry vision regained focus and Sanji now found himself staring up at the concerned faces of Luffy, Chopper, Usopp, Nami, and Robin. As soon as he saw the Navigator and Archeologist, he instantly burst into tears and pulled the two women in a tight hug.
"NAMI-SWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN! ROBIN-CHWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!" He bawled.
"It's okay, Sanji. We're fine." Robin patted his back.
"I wish you stayed unconscious..." Nami muttered under her breath.
"Glad to have you back, Sanji!" Luffy said with a relieved grin.
"Yeah, take it easy, lover boy. You took a nasty hit." Usopp tried to pry him off Nami and Robin. Sanji felt a stinging pain on his forehead, prompting him to release Nami and Robin while tracing his hand up to the bandages wrapped around his head.
"What happened?" Sanji asked Chopper with a groan.
"A rock hit you in the head when we jumped into this cave." Chopper explained. "I cleaned up the wound and bandaged it but please try not to overexert yourself."
Sanji glanced around the cave. "Where are the others?"
Luffy and Usopp pointed over to the entrance of the cave where Zoro, Franky, Brook, Jinbei, and Yamato stood near the edge of a small cliff staring down a deep chasm. They were all ready for battle; their weapons were drawn and were as still as statues. Sanji picked himself up (with a little help from Usopp) and he along with the others exited the cave. He neared the edge of the cliff, taking note of the tense expressions some of his friends had, and glanced downwards. There, lying in a pool of blood at the bottom of the canyon, was the body of the Argentinosaurus.
Sanji gulped apprehensibly, remembering his nightmare from earlier. Everyone silently stared down at the dead creature for a while before Luffy asked what was on everyone's minds.
"Chopper...what happened to it?" Luffy questioned the Doctor.
"I don't...I don't know. I'm not even sure where to begin." Chopper began, pacing around. "I've never seen symptoms like this. At first, I thought it could've been some form of rabies but to cause this much damage to its body in the process would've killed it already. It shouldn't have been able to move at all what with all its skin melting off! It might've been some kind of fasting disease or a flesh-eating virus but I think this might be some kind of undiscovered pathogen."
"That thing was already dead on its feet. You all saw how it was barfing out its guts; what the hell kind of disease does that?!" Zoro scowled, never taking his eyes off the dead sauropod.
"Because it wasn't a disease." Jinbei answered with his arms folded. "When we encountered the beast back at the watering hole, I spotted the remains of a fruit on the ground. A fruit with swirling patterns upon it." The crew, who had been listening to Jinbei, were at first perplexed but their expressions soon turned to shocked realization at his words.
"The cause of that Dinosaur's transformation was not a virus...but a Devil Fruit." Jinbei finished with a piercing glare to convey his seriousness. Needless to say, the Strawhats were floored. To think that those fruits were capable of something this horrific...
"A Devil Fruit did that?!" Luffy balked, doing a double take between Jinbei and the dead sauropod.
"But-but that-that can't be right! Every other Devil Fruit user we fought didn't end up like that thing!" Usopp shook his head.
"Exactly! Sure, I was a bit disoriented when I came back to life but I was still cognizant!" Brook agreed with the Sniper.
"But...what is the same can't be said for the rest of the other Devil Fruits?" Robin pointed out. "What if there are fruits out there that you can't control? What if there are fruits that take over your mind and body?"
Everyone felt a collective chill run down their spine. That theory alone was enough to make the normal crewmembers incredibly weary of Devil Fruits if they ever came across one. Those who had already eaten the fruits, dreaded to think what would've happened if they had eaten the fruit that turned a once-peaceful herbivore into an acid-spewing abomination. Some of them felt a pang of sympathy when they recalled seeing tears flowing from the dinosaur's eyes.
Luffy glanced back down at the Argentinosaurus and he swallowed the lump in his throat. "Has it moved yet?" He asked Zoro.
"Not one inch. That dome it had is gone as well but I'm not taking any chances." Zoro replied, firmly gripping his swords.
"I'm all for getting the hell out of here. Anyone with me?" Franky raised a hand, followed by the rest of the crew unanimously raising theirs. Nami turned her gaze up the steep slope and tapped her chin. "We could probably scale this plateau and back into the jungle. All that leaves us is trying to backtrack our steps back to the Sunny." She surmised.
"I do know of a quicker way back." Yamato spoke up. "If we follow this canyon, it should take us right back to the beach."
"How do you know that?" Usopp asked.
"When we arrived here, I noticed a rocky pass near the edge of the shore." Yamato recounted. "So which path do we take, Luffy?"
Luffy lifted his head to the plateau before looking down at the winding chasm. They could easily make their way up the slope but if Yamato was right, they had a shortcut laid out in front of them. He took one last cautionary glance down at the dead Argentinosaurus. Luffy wanted nothing more than to leave this island behind not for his sake, but for his friends whom he swore to protect. "We'll take the shortcut." Luffy announced. "Let's get off this island already."
Chopper peered over the cliff and gulped when he saw just how deep the chasm was. "Anyone know of a safe way we can get down?"
"I have one." Robin offered. Closing her eyes and crossing her arms; a swarm of hands emerged from the ground and snaked their way down to the bottom of the chasm. The limbs multiplied by the second and grasped onto their wrists and elbows to form a large bridge for the crew to walk upon. The Strawhats made their way down the bridge that led down to the bottom of the canyon. Some of the other crewmembers carefully watched the body of the Argentinosaurus in case it wasn't completely dead. Nami felt bile rise in her throat when she noticed the boils and scabs covering the rotting corpse were pulsating and oozing with blood.
They made it to the bottom and stepped off the bridge, allowing Robin to retract the limbs in a burst of flower petals. Everyone took one last look at the sauropod's body and waited for any movement. When nothing happened for the next few seconds, everyone relaxed and guessed that the fruit had finally put the poor animal out of its misery. They turned around without a word and started their walk through the canyon-
"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKK..."
"Please no...!" Usopp whimpered.
No sooner did the pirates take a few steps when they heard an all-too-familiar sound behind them along with a dark shadow looming over them. Almost on reflex, everyone dove out of the way to avoid the Sauropod's head as it smashed into the ground where they once stood. The beast reared its head back up and roared down at the pirates as its Rot Radius reactivated!
"RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH! GLLLLLAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGNNNNKKKKKKK!"
Everyone immediately ran for their lives in the opposite direction as the sauropod gave chase. The group raced through the winding passageways as fast as their feet could carry them. They were running on a combination of adrenaline, fear, and the sheer will to survive. The Argentinosaurus was already in hot pursuit; barreling through the canyon despite its huge bulk. It navigated the tight confines as its hide scraped against the walls and tore off more chunks of its skin.
"Why the hell is this thing suddenly so fast now?!" Usopp yelled as the monstrosity was quickly catching up with them.
"It's just like me! There's no organs or muscles holding it back!" Brook realized to his horror. As the Strawhats turned a corner, Nami wielded her Clima-Tact and aimed for the corner as the booming footsteps of the Argentinosaurus drew closer.
"TORNADO TEMPO!"
A literal tornado exploded out of the tip of her staff and slammed into the sauropod just as it rounded the corner!
"RRROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGRRRRRR!"
Nami's attack only further drove the monster into rage and madness as it did little to slow it down. The Argentinosaurus continued to chase after the Strawhats while snarling furiously in its single-minded pursuit. As its body collided against the tight corners, it sent boulders and debris sailing through the air and down upon the pirates. Zoro cleanly cut through any rocks that came their way while Franky blasted them out of the sky with his remaining arm cannon. A stray boulder hit Luffy in the back of his head but the Captain regained his footing and continued to run.
The pirates turned another corner to a long stretch of the canyon that led to an open area that was brightly illuminated. Seeing their exit, the group picked up the pace as the sauropod started to close in on them. It extended its neck and opened its rotting maw towards them as it gurgled threateningly. Brook, who was lagging behind a little, could feel the beast's hot, stinking breath waft over his bony body. With a high-pitched scream of fright, Brook ran like the wind to avoid the sauropod snapping at him.
The crew neared the exit of the canyon with the Argentinosaurus bearing down on top of them, its Rot Radius growling ever closer! The Strawhats dove through the opening just as the sauropod got itself stuck in the tight entrance. The pirates rolled across the oddly hot ground and scrambled back onto their feet to avoid the snapping teeth of the Argentinosaurus.
The monstrosity was unable to fit its ponderous body through the small opening and resorted to attempting to free itself; digging its legs into the ground and struggling to force itself through the entrace. The pirates backed away as much as they could while also taking note that the sauropod, much to their disgust and growing revulsion, had decayed further. Its skin was a darker shade of green and loosely hung off of its body like it was wearing a shirt several sizes too big for it. Numerous areas of its flesh had rotted away to reveal its bones and decayed muscles. The skin around its mouth had completely melted and the tears that were pouring from its splintered eyes had been replaced with blood.
"GRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHH! RUUUUUUUAAAAALLLGGG! HUUUUURRRRRKKKKK! REEEEEAAAAKKKKKKK! GLLLLUUURRRRAAAAAAAACCCCCKKKK!"
The Argentinosaurus howled and roared in fury as it whipped its neck around; bashing its head against the stone walls in a futile attempt to free itself. Each reverberating thwack against the sides of the entryway broke its skull further and further; the beast oblivious to how badly it was damaging itself. Agast, the Strawhats could only stare at the flailing, shrieking monster in shock. How was this thing not dead yet?!
"I don't think it's going anywhere. Do you guys think we should just go?" Nami asked, never taking her eyes off the snarling creature.
"It can stay in there for all I care." Zoro sheathed his swords as he walked away. The rest of the crew made their leave and left the entrapped Argentinosaurus behind. Trodding down a small hill, the first thing the group felt was a wave of heat rushing over their faces. They had come before a large, bowl-like area dotted with craters of all sizes upon cracked, barren earth. Each of the craters was aglow with orange light and at some intervals erupted with small geysers of liquid magma! But at the other end of the circular clearing was an exit that led the way out. And at the other end of the long stretch of canyon walls was the beach and beyond that, their salvation: the Thousand Sunny.
"Did, uh, you know we were walking into a volcano?" Luffy absentmindedly asked Yamato with a tilt of his head.
"I-I-I-I-It wasn't intentional!" She stammered innocently.
"It's not a volcano. If it was, we would be at a higher elevation. This must be a lava field." Robin identified.
Sanji cautiously stepped closer to the bottom of the hill and placed his foot on the blackened, warm ground. He felt his feet heat up a little but it was not hot enough to melt his shoe(or his bare foot for that matter). He walked on the ground one or two steps before turning back to his friends. "It seems stable enough to walk on. I say we go for it."
In silent agreement, the Strawhats marched down the hill and began their trek across the lava fields, while the sauropod continued to roar behind them. The pirates carefully navigated their way through the sweltering fields; avoiding the geysers of magma that burst forth from the craters around them. One crater burbled and let loose a flurry of sparks at Chopper and Brook, nearly singing their fur or hair.
"GAH!" Chopper squeaked as he swatted the tiny embers off his fur before it could catch on fire.
"Perhaps we should try going around this instead of going through it?" Brook suggested as he shielded his afro with his hands.
"We're already halfway through. Just a bit more and we'll reach the exit-" Jinbei was interrupted when he and others heard a loud CRACK. They turned around toward where the Argentinosaurus was and witnessed the stone walls it was pinned against starting to turn a brownish color as multiple cracks formed along the surface.
"Oh no... it's eroding the walls!" Robin gasped in terrified realization. The creature's Rot Radius was steadily wakening its confines as it violently tried forcing its way out even as it peeled its skin apart in the process. With one last heave, the Argentinosaurus violently freed itself in a burst of scattering, decaying debris...and shredding off all of the skin on its sides so that its ribcage was entirely visible!
"SHHLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRROOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUGGGGHHHAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGG!"
"RUN LIKE HELL!" Luffy yelled at his friends! The Strawhats fled as fat as their feet could carry them as the sauropod thundered down the hill and gave chase. It galloped across the lava field, its weight and Rot Radius breaking apart the ground it trampled upon. Cracks began to spread out across the area, forming deep fissures that exposed bubbling lava beneath. The sauropod upchucked a stream of its acidic vomit at the crew, forcing them to not only evade its attack but also avoid the fissures cropping up along their path.
Jinbei spotted a geyser about to erupt and instantly hatched a plan. He ran over and positioned himself in front of the crater, taking up a Fishman Karate stance. The magma boiled to a fever pitch in the crater while the Argentinosaurus readied to vomit again...
"5000 BRICK FIST!"
Jinbei slammed his bare fist into the side of the crater as soon as it erupted and the resulting geyser was redirected toward the dinosaur! The stream hit it right in the neck and burned away a huge hole, causing the caustic bile to pour out of the scorching wound.
"SHREEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGKKKKKKKKKKK!"
There was a sudden rush of air from behind the crew and they glanced over their shoulders at something that made their jaws drop. The sauropod leaped through the air like a lion pouncing on its prey; soaring down towards them like an avalanche as geysers of magma erupted around it! The members of the Strawhat pirates dove out of the way; scattering to the left or right as the monstrosity slammed into the ground with the force of an earthquake. The entire magma field began to destabilize: the ground cracked apart or sunk into the lava as the craters launched more magma into the sky. Everyone scrambled to find solid ground lest they fall into the boiling lava; some of them landed on floating rocks that had yet to sink into the lava while others clung onto the rims of the craters.
"UUUUUURRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKK!"
The Argentinosaurus was submerged in the magma, screeching in horrible pain as it toppled over and hit a still-solid portion of the ground as it sank into the lava and disappeared beneath the waves. Everyone felt a sense of relief but it was short-lived as some pieces of the ground as well as craters were starting to sink.
"There! The exit!" Chopper pointed a hoof at the other end of the fields. The end of this harrowing ordeal was almost in sight and the crew were taking every chance they could to make their escape. Most of the more athletic members of the crew were able to hop from one rock to the other until they landed on an undamaged section of the ground near an incline that led up to the exit. Nami, Chopper, Franky, and Yamato had to navigate around a still-stable crater and were about to jump toward the others when something rose from out of the lava!
"GLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
The mad sauropod was still alive even after being submerged in lava! Its skin had taken on a horribly burnt red color and one of its eyeballs had ruptured from the heat, signifying that not even its Rot Radius could protect it from liquid magma. It slammed its tail against the crater, smashing it flat and causing Nami, Yamato, and Chopper to jump towards a section of the field that had yet to sink into the lake of fire. Franky jumped out of the way just in time before the Rot Radius could engulf him, landing near the edge of another crater. As he scrambled to get a proper foothold, Franky looked over his shoulder at the sauropod and saw something that made his blood run cold.
The entire midsection of the Argentinosaurus was GONE. Its skin had completely burned away to reveal its bare ribcage and spine, completely devoid of internal organs. But how was it vomiting earlier?! This thing was a zombie. Certainly not like any of Gecko Moria's zombies: an actual, REAL zombie. The Argentinsoaurus snarled at Nami, Yamato, and Chopper in a mixture of pain and rage as the other crewmembers rushed over to help them. Thinking quickly, Yamato transformed into her human-beast form and took in a deep breath just as the sauropod was about to strike.
"NAMUJI HYOGA!"
A densely packed blast of cold air shot out of Yamato's mouth and collided with the sauropod's face, encasing half of it in ice and halting its attack. Then, she tightly held her kanabo and imbued it in a frosty aura.
"MAHOROBA YARI!"
With a mighty swing, Yamato flung her kanabo at the sauropod and hit it right in the lower jaw, shattering it into icy splinters! As the now-jawless creature reeled away with an earsplitting screech, Yamato scooped up Nami in her powerful arms and carried her back to the others while Luffy stretched his arm out and snatched Chopper by his backpack to yank him away from the flailing dinosaur. As Yamato set Nami down near the hill, she caught a glimpse of her weapon sailing through the air and splashing into the lava. She felt a sting in her heart when she witnessed the weapon she had been using since her youth disappear beneath the magma.
'Goodbye, Takeru.' Yamato thought sadly. Franky jumped off the crater back on land and made a mad dash towards his friends. Everyone started to run up the hill that led to the exit but Luffy stopped when he heard a loud roar. He turned around and saw the Argentinosaurus haul itself out of the lava and on dry land. The skin was now sagging off its body as steam rose from its burning hide while its jawless visage made it look like a demon crawling out of Hell. Luffy clenched his teeth together in fright as the sauropod let out another bellow that solidified its intent to the crew: it was NEVER going to stop chasing them. Luffy needed to think of a way to put an end to this here and now.
"Luffy, what are you doing?!" Zoro shouted at his Captain who just stood there. Luffy frantically thought of a plan until he noticed the cracks around the sauropod's feet. Looking down at his feet, Luffy instantly got an idea. He swung his foot upward, stretching it high into the air as much as he could.
"GUM-GUM!"
"HHHHRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
The Argentinosaurus got in position to pounce on the Captain, seconds away from leaping...
"BATTLE AXE!"
Luffy brought his foot down and slammed it into the ground just as the maddened dinosaur leaped towards him. The force of Luffy's impacting foot broke apart the ground in front of the sauropod, spittling it open to create a pit of lava! The beast practically dove into the lake of magma and screamed as the lava made contact with its rotting skin. The beast attempted to swim its way out but it sunk like a rock before letting out one final shriek as it was pulled under. Luffy quickly ran up the hill to avoid the growing fissures, reuniting with his friends as he caught his breath.
The group took a moment to regain their composure, breathing heavily and wiping the sweat from their faces. At long last, the nightmare was finally over. Without a word, the pirates made their way over to the exit of the canyon. Until there was a rumbling noise coming from behind! The crew collectively let out gasps of fright as they all spun around. The ground near the edge of the hill erupted and the sauropod burst forth from the magma, completely wreathed in fire!
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! GLLLAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH! HRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNNNNNNHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGG!"
The monster bellowed so loudly that its vocal cords snapped, superheated blood and pus gushing out of its wounds and sores as it flailed about in the lava. The ribs crunched against the stone as it forcefully attempted to drag itself out of the pool of molten stone, skin ripping from its limbs as it attempted to wrench itself free, bones exposed as infected muscles snapped. The fires spread across its agony-filled form, stripping away the burned, sore-covered skin and leaving muscles that oozed with oily fluids and pus.
Another flail of its neck attempted to reach the Straw Hats, who scrambled away as its flaming head collided with the edge of the cliff like a spear, nearly crunching the stone. Suddenly, the heat split the bones in its legs, causing it to lose all strength and fall back into the pit of magma. It continued screaming and flailing out like a tormented beast, its bloodshot eyes meeting the crew as it continued to lose strength. Its eyes were filled with fear and sweet relief.
At first, the Strawhats stared at the still-screaming dinosaur as the flames grew with intensity in open-mouth horror. But now that feeling of terror was giving away to another emotion...sorrow. This wasn't an unscrupulous, dastardly, irredeemable enemy they had fought in the past. This wasn't an enemy pirate, Marine adversary, Word Government assassin, turncoat Warlord, or even one of the Pirate Emperors. This was an innocent animal that ate the wrong Devil Fruit and unfairly suffered for it. No living creature deserved this horrific fate.
Luffy, Sanji, Franky, Jinbei, and Yamato felt horrible; looking on with anguished expressions as the screams of the sauropod continued while the flames consumed its body. Nami, Usopp, Chopper, Brook, and even Robin were tearing up at this heart-wrenching display; each of them silently wished that its pain would finally come to a merciful end. Zoro was the only one who remained stoic but it was clear that he too was just as torn up as the others.
Finally, after it couldn't physically scream anymore, the Argetinosaurus suddenly went still before it crumbled into the lava, uttering a final pained groan and sinking into the grave of liquid fire. Its entire body evaporated into ash, its scattering embers soaring up into the air like firefires. For the original members of the Strawhats, it was like watching the Merry Go's funeral all over again.
Luffy noticed one of the embers floating down toward him and held out his hand. The ember landed in his palm and glowed softly before slowly burning itself out. Luffy stared down at his hand before focusing back on the bonfire before him. His eyes widened as a sense of realization came over him: did he just unintentionally end an innocent creature's life? Did it truly have no control over itself? Was there really no other way to save it? Luffy lowered his head in respect as he closed his hand, his hat shadowing his eyes.
After a minute of silent mourning, Luffy spoke with a tone of monotone finality. "We're leaving."
There were no objections. Everyone silently filed out of the canyon back to the Thousand Sunny. Yamato lingered behind, watching the fire for a few more seconds before following after the crew. She had always dreamed of going on an adventure on the high seas. But after what happened on this day, it was something she and her friends wouldn't be reminiscing about anytime soon.
THE GRAND LINE-SOME TIME LATER
The waves gently lapped against the shore of an island as the sun beamed in the sky. A large wave splashed agist the beach, bringing with it an object that washed up on the shore. The water receded to reveal the object: the Rot-Rot Fruit.
The sounds of heavy footsteps were heard as someone strode across the beach. He spotted the fruit lying in the sand and went over to it. His hand, adorned with many different rings, snatched the fruit up from the ground and he inspected it thoroughly. A devious smile spread across his face, revealing his many missing teeth.
"Well, well, well. Aint this a lucky find! ZEHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
THE END?
And that's a wrap!
I don't think I have to tell you guys who that was at the end. I hope you guys enjoyed this short story, I had a lot of fun making this. Big shout out to Zeroth17 who gave me some ideas for the sauropod's death.
Well, all that's left for me to say is so long, and stay tuned for new Unchained Predator chapters.
Don't forget to review but please don't flame!
