Chapter 3: Quidditch World Cup
*Harry's Dream, No POV*
Somewhere in the middle of a graveyard, a snake could be seen slithering out of the door and into the yard. Whispers were heard from the distance. The snake kept going until it reached the graveyard of Tom Riddle. A bird cried in the distance. There was a man in a large house. He was cooking dinner for himself while listening to the radio. He stopped when he noticed a light on the large house next to his home. He puts down his cooking stuff in frustration and walks to the door.
"Bloody kids." He whispered to himself.
He left the house to investigate. Using the flashlight to guide his way, he climbs up the steps of the house. When he enters the house, walking closer inside, he hears hushed voices coming from the upstairs room.
"How fastidious you've become, Wormtail. As I recall, you once called the nearest gutter pipe home. Could it be the task of nursing me..." The man stopped walking when he heard the boards creak under his foot, afraid to make noise that will attract attention. "...Has become wearisome for you?"
"Oh, no, no, my Lord Voldemort. I only meant... Perhaps if we were to do it without the boy." Wormtail started but was interrupted by Voldemort.
"NO! The boy is everything! It cannot be done without him. And it will be done. Exactly as I said." Voldemort said, his voice a dark whisper.
"I will not disappoint you, my Lord." An unknown man said, kneeling before Lord Voldemort.
"Good. First, gather our old comrades. Send them a sign." Voldemort ordered. A snake slithers past the old man, making its way into the room. "Nagini tells me the old muggle caretaker is standing just outside the door," Voldemort said. Wormtail stands in the doorway, looking at the old man. This terrifies the old man. The old man took a step back, afraid for his life.
"Step aside, Wormtail so I can give our guest a proper greeting," Voldemort commanded. "Avada Kadavar!"
The loud spell is cast and everything turns white.
*Lana's POV*
I looked at Harry with concern when he woke up, tossing and turning in his bed. "Dad?" I called, trying to wake him up. Harry didn't seem to hear me. "Dad, are you okay?"
"Harry," Hermione said as she walked up to him. "Harry!" Hermione shouted, louder this time. Harry woke up, startled.
"Are you all right?" Hermione asked, her voice filled with concern.
"Hermione. Bad dream." Harry said. "When did you get here?"
"Just now. You?" Hermione said.
"Last night," Harry said.
I turned over my bed to try to go back to sleep but Hermione woke me up again. "Lana. Time to get up." Hermione said while shaking me awake.
"Five more minutes." I groaned.
"No, we have to get going. Get dressed, and then come downstairs for breakfast." Hermione said. Hermione then walked over to Ron's bed, who was in a deep sleep, snoring away. "Wake up! Wake up, Ronald!"
"Bloody hell!" Ron shouted, sitting up from his bed.
"Honestly, get dressed. And don't go back to sleep. Come on, Ron! Your mother says breakfast is ready!" Hermione yelled. Ron groaned, laying back down in his bed. I honestly wanted to go back to sleep but I couldn't. Hermione would yell at me more. My husbands would beat me. I checked the time on my phone. It was 5:30 in the morning. God damn that's early. I got out of bed to get dressed before getting yelled at some more.
For my outfit, I got on some jeans and my Blake Belladonna tank top from my favorite anime show, RWBY. I got on a brown leather jacket and some brown boots. I also wore a black hair ribbon. After I got dressed, I heard a knock on the door. My wife, Nala walked in the room. "Hey Lana, Hermione wanted me to check on you and make sure you are ready for the day," Nala said.
"Tell her I said I will be down in a minute," I said.
"Okay. Nice outfit by the way." Nala said.
I smiled. "Thanks."
Nala left the room. After I was ready, I met everyone downstairs. We quickly had breakfast, then we left the house. I was confused, where were we going this early in the morning?
"Ugh, it's too early for this can't we go back to bed?" Kiara whined.
"Ron, where are we actually going?" Harry asked.
"Yeah Dad, where are we going?" I asked as well.
"Don't know. Hey Dad, where are we going?" Ron asked Arthur.
"Haven't the foggiest. Keep up!" Arthur called.
"Arthur!" A man called out. "It's about time, son."
"Sorry, Amous. Some of us had a bit of a sleepy start." Arthur said, the last part looking at Ron who was yawning.
"This is Amous Diggory, everyone. Works with me at the Ministery." Arthur said. A boy jumped down from the tree.
"And this strapping young lad must be Cedric, am I right?" Arthur said, shaking the boy's hand. The boy smiled at him.
"Yes, sir," Cedric said.
"He seems nice," Rio said.
"This way," Arthur called.
We begin following everyone, but Amous stopped me and Harry when we walked past him. "Merlin's beard! You must be Harry Potter!" Amous said.
"Yes, sir. And this is my daughter, Lana." Harry said, introducing me to him.
"Hi," I said, a bit shy.
"Great pleasure, great pleasure," Amous said, shaking hands with Harry.
"Pleasure to meet you too, sir," Harry replied. After we met Mr. Diggory and his son, we followed the others and Mr. Weasley to the top of the hill in the plain open fields. I saw an old boot on the top of the hill. I was confused as to what the boot was doing there.
"Yes, it's uh just over there," Amous said.
"Shall we?" Arthur asked.
"Oh, yeah," Amous said.
"We don't want to be late," Arthur said.
"Come on. Nearly there now. Get yourself in a good position." Amous instructed.
"What are we doing?" Kiara wondered.
"Why are they all standing around that manky old boot?" Harry asked.
"That isn't just any manky old boot, mate." Uncle Fred said.
"It's a portkey." Uncle George explained.
"Time to go!" Amous called.
"What's a portkey?" Both Harry and I asked.
"Ready? After three!" Amous said. Everyone quickly grabbed the boot. Amous began counting down. Harry and I just stood there, unsure of what to do. "One... Two..."
"Harry!" Arthur shouted.
"Lana!" Gwen shouted.
Harry and I snapped out of our thoughts, quickly taking hold of the boot. "...Three!"
We all held onto the boot tightly. The boot lifted us up in the air. We began spinning around and around. Everyone screamed. Amous was laughing. I held onto Margo's hand tightly with my free hand, while my other hand was still holding onto the boot. Soon when we got high enough, we were told to let go of the boot.
"Let go, kids!" Arthur yelled.
"What!?" Hermione and I yelled.
"Are you crazy!?" Uru shouted.
"Let go!" Arthur yelled again.
I took a deep breath as we let go of the boot. We fell through the sky until we hit the ground hard, knocking the wind out of me. Margo held out her hand out to me to help me up.
"Are you okay?" Margo asked.
"I never want to do that again," I said, catching my breath.
"That was awesome!" Kovu shouted.
After I made my recovery, I looked up to see Amous, Arthur, and Cedric landing gracefully.
"I bet that cleared your sinuses, aye?" Arthur said when they landed.
"Total shambles as per usual," Amous adds on.
Cedric walks up to Harry to help him up. "Thanks," Harry said.
We followed Arthur and Amous to the top of the hill. The place was so lively, tents were everywhere as well as people laughing and waving their team colors about, flying brooms, cheering, and music. This place already makes me happy. It's so peaceful as well. "Go on, look at that!" Simba said.
"Well kids, welcome to the Quidditch World Cup," Arthur announces. We admired the scene in front of us. We walked through the tents and the crowds of people. "Stay together! Keep up, girls!" Arthur called.
Hermione, Aunt Ginny, and I were laughing and giggling, taking in the sight around us. "Look!" Aunt Ginny said as she pointed in the distance.
"Wow." I gasped. I got out my phone to take a picture.
"Come on, keep up girls!" Arthur called again. We ducked when a man with a broom swooshed past us.
"Blimey!" Ron exclaimed.
"Parting of the ways, I think old chap," Amous said to Arthur.
"See you at the match," Arthur said.
"See you at the match," Amous said. They shook hands and parted ways.
"Cedric," Arthur called.
"Ced, come on," Amous said.
"See you later, Cedric." Uncle Fred called. We kept walking until we reached a small tent.
"Ah," Arthur said when we approached it. "Home sweet home."
Arthur pulls back the covers. Everyone follows him inside. I looked at the tent, confused. How are we supposed to fit in that small tent? When we got inside, my mouth dropped open.
"Pretty cool, huh?" Jessica said.
"Yeah," I said, still not believing what I am seeing. I am still getting used to this whole magic thing. The tent may have looked small on the outside, but on the inside, it was massive. The tent had everything, from tables, chairs, beds, windows, and a kitchen, it was just... wow.
"Ah, excellent," Arthur said.
"Ginny, Lana, look!" Hermione said. I gasped almost tripping over Kiara who came running towards me with Kovu who was chasing him but Simba caught him. "Woah, slow down there Kiara," Simba said. "You okay, Aunt Lana? Sorry about that, the kids just get excited."
"It's okay. Yeah, I am fine. Just getting used to this whole wizarding stuff." I said with a smile.
"All to the bath. Girls chose a bunk and unpack. Ron, get out of the kitchen. We're all hungry." Arthur said.
"Yeah, get out of the kitchen!" Both Uncle Fred and George said.
"Feet off the table," Arthur said when the twins put their feet on the table.
"Feet off the table." Uncle Fred and George repeated back. Both me and Harry were still taking in the sight around us. Harry and I exchanged glances with one another.
"I love magic." Harry and I said. After we settled down and unpacked, I was going to pick the bed next to Margo's when I felt a hand grip my shoulder. I gasped, turning around to see my husband, Miguel standing in front of me.
"What are you doing?" He asked, glaring at me.
"I... I was going to sleep with Margo and Nala tonight. Is that okay with you?" I asked him nervously.
Miguel sighed. "Fine. I'll just sleep with Miles tonight. But you're sleeping with me tomorrow." He said, his voice cold. I nodded.
"Leave her alone, Miguel. Quit harassing her." Hobie said. Miguel just scoffed and walked away.
"Okay kids, time to go," Ahadi said. We followed Arthur, making our way to the arena. When we got there, the place was packed with people. Not one empty seat was seen. I was so excited, I have never seen a Quidditch match before. Harry did tell me stories when he was on the Quidditch team. We continued climbing up the stairs for what felt like an eternity.
"Blimey Dad, how far up are we?" Ron asked.
"Well, put it this way: If it rains... You'll be the first to know." A man said who was standing below us.
"Father and I are in the Minister's box. By personal invitation of Cornelius Fudge himself." A younger boy who was with him said.
"Don't boast Draco, there's no need for these people." The man said.
I just glared at them. "Let me ask you a question, how is that special? You bribe him or something? If you did, you're more corrupt than I thought you are. You're just a spoiled little brat!" I shouted, pointing a finger at the boy.
"Yeah Blondie, I don't think you noticed but none of us give a shit!" Gwen shouted.
Miguel smacks me in the back of my head. "Enough Lana! Quit causing such a scene and embarrassing me. Let's go." Miguel said firmly. Miguel grabs my arm tightly. Harry turned Hermione away. As we were about to leave, the man pins Harry's hand down with his staff.
"Do enjoy yourself, won't you? While you can?" The man said with a smirk.
We walked away, with Miguel still holding onto my arm tightly. I leaned into Ron's ear to ask him, "Who were those people?"
"That was Lucius and his son, Draco Malfoy. Draco goes to Hogwarts too, stay away from Draco." Ron warned me.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because he's a bully," Ron said. We were able to find our seats, finally. We met up with Amous and Cedric. "Come on up. Take your seats." Amous said when he saw us. "I told you these seats would be worth waiting for."
"Come on! Ha, ha!" Uncle George shouts. Just then five green white figures came speeding towards us with green and white smoke.
"Look at that!" Nala said, pointing at the team.
"It's the Irish! There's Troy!" Uncle Fred shouts.
"And Mullet!" Uncle George said.
"And Moran!" Uncle Fred said. The crowd cheered when fireworks exploded in the sky. An Irish figure appeared above us.
"Woah!" Harry and I said.
"Ireland! Ireland! Ireland!" The crowd chanted as the team flew around the arena.
"Here comes the Bulgarians!" Uncle George shouted. The colors in the sky changed from green to red when the Bulgarian team appeared in the sky.
"Ha, ha! Yes!" Uncle Fred shouted.
"Woah!" We all cried as they flew past the Irish team. Then, we saw a man from the Bulgarian team doing cool tricks on the broom.
"Who's that?" Aunt Ginny asked.
"Look at him go!" I said.
"That, sis is the best seeker in the world!" Uncle Fred explained. The man's face appeared on the big screen as the crowd was chanting his name. "Krum! Krum! Krum!"
"Woah." I said.
"KRUM!" Everyone shouted as he soared through the audience. The applause and cheering died down when the announcer, Fudge began to speak. "Good evening! As the Minister of Magic, it gives me great pleasure to welcome each and every one of you to the final of the 422nd Quidditch World Cup! Let the match... begin!"
After the match, we all went back to the tent. In the end, the Irish won the game. It was a big victory. Uncle Fred and Uncle George were celebrating, dancing around while I just sat back, watching them having a good time goofing around.
"There's no one like Krum," Ron said.
"Krum? Dumb Krum?" Uncle Fred said.
"He's like a bird, the way he rides the wind. He's more than an athlete. He's an artist." Ron said. Uncle Fred and Uncle George were teasing their brother while Ron's face was bright red as he was speaking those words.
"Ooh, sounds like someone has a crush," Jessica said with a smile.
"I think you're in love, Ron." Aunt Ginny said while touching his cheek. I giggled.
"Shut up," Ron said.
Everyone began singing about Ron's crush but they stopped when we heard shouting from outside the tent.
"Sounds like the Irish have got their pride on." Uncle Fred said.
Uncle Fred and Uncle George were having a playfight but Arthur stopped them. "Stop! Stop it! It's not the Irish." Arthur said. "We've got to get out of here now."
"Grandpa? What's going on?" I said, nervously. I felt my Spidey senses going off. We heard an explosion. We all went outside to see what was going on. It was chaos, there was fire everywhere, people were running all over the place. Someone yelled, "Get out, it's the death eaters!"
Death eaters? Now I'm confused and scared. My heart was pounding fast when my Grandpa, Arthur was giving instructions for everyone to follow. "Get back to the Portkey everyone, and stick together! Fred, George, Ginny, and Lana are your responsibility! Go!"
"Lana, come on!" Margo yelled, grabbing my hand.
"Harry! Lana!" Hermione yelled.
We began to run as fast as we could. The death eaters were attacking us. Tents were burning down while they were casting spells. I got my web ready, ready to fight back if I had to. We continued running. It was hard to escape with people trampling and pushing us.
"Keep up, you lot!" Uncle George called.
I was having a panic attack while Harry and I were being pushed away from our families by the crowd.
"Harry! Lana!" Hermione yelled again. Margo kept holding onto me tightly as we kept running. There was another fire explosion, burning one of the tents. I then saw my father, Miles laying on the ground with a big cut on his forehead.
"Dad!" I cried.
I got more nervous as Miguel picked up Miles. I was about to run over to Miles but Miguel pushed me away. "Get out of my way. I'll take care of him." Miguel said firmly.
Margo picked me up and we ran away again, following Harry. I held onto Margo tightly. I lost my grip when people trampled us over. "Margo!" I cried.
"Lana!" Margo cried.
I looked to my left and saw Harry passed out. The last thing I saw before I blacked out was Margo and Nala rushing up to me, calling my name.
When it was all over, I woke up. Margo and Nala were holding me in their arms. "Margo? Nala? What happened?" I asked.
"We were attacked. Are you okay?" Nala asked me, giving me a kiss on the cheek.
"I'm okay," I said. Harry and I then saw a man in the distance who gave us an evil glare. Harry, Nala, Margo, and I jumped up and ran away from the man, trying to find the rest of the family.
"Harry! Lana! Where are you?" I heard Ron call out.
"Harry! Lana!" Hermione called.
"Been looking for you two for ages. Thought we lost both of you mates." Ron said when they caught up to us.
Rio and Jefferson gasped when they saw their son in bad condition. "Miles!" Rio cried.
Jefferson took Miles from Miguel and held him in his arms. Gwen walked up to her husband with a worried expression on her face. Miles was still passed out. "He'll be okay. He just had a bad fall." Jefferson said. Gwen sighed in relief. Gwen held me close to her, wrapping protective arms around me. I looked up in the sky to see a dark mark in the clouds.
"Woah," Aunt Sarafina said.
"What is that?" Harry asked. Harry grunted in pain as he held his hand to his forehead. Suddenly, a group of wizards appeared in front of us, shooting spells at us.
"Stupefy!" The wizards yelled. Red sparks came from their wands. We ducked, trying to avoid the hits.
"Get back!" Gwen yelled. Gwen shielded me from their attacks. Before they could attack us more, Arthur came running up to us. "Stop! Stop! That's my son and granddaughter! Ron, Harry, Hermione, Lana are you all right?"
"Came back for Harry and Lana," Ron replied. "You okay Lana?"
"Yeah Dad, I'm just shaken up," I said.
"Which of you conjured it?" Crouch demanded, pointing a wand at us.
"Crouch, you can't possibly-" Arthur began but was cut off by Crouch. "Do not lie! You've been discovered at the scene of the crime!"
"You can't possibly think that these kids would be capable of a crime like that?" Gwen said, glaring at him.
"Crime?" Harry questioned.
"Barty, they're just kids," Arthur said.
"What crime?" Harry asked.
"It's the dark mark, Harry. It's his mark." Hermione explained.
"Voldemort? Those people tonight. In the masks, they're his too, aren't they? His followers?" Harry said.
"Yeah. Death eaters." Arthur said.
"Follow me," Crouch said.
"Um, there was a man, before. Uh, there!" Harry said, pointing in the distance.
"Yeah, I saw him too," I said.
"All of you this way," Crouch ordered.
"A man, Harry? Who?" Arthur asked.
"I don't know. I didn't see his face." Harry said.
I watched as the sky continued to glow with the mark that was created by the death eaters. We only knew it was a matter of time before Voldemort and his followers made their next move.
