Kagome walked around, unsure of where she was going. But her feet kept moving till she came to a room where all three men were. They looked up when she entered.

"Kagome!" Miroku beamed.

She had hoped to find Sesshomaru alone.

"What are you guys doing?"

"What does it look like?" Inuyasha had his sleeve rolled up and rabbit in his hand, cooked.

"We made lunch," Miroku wiggled his eyebrow as if he was waiting for some prize for doing the job.

Inuyasha slammed the rabbit down while Miroku put bowls of vegetables down. "I'll go get the others,"

Kagome walked into the room. It was a plain room, nothing but one large stone window and one long, large wooded table that she suspected was older than Sesshomaru himself. He turned away from the window as she came closer. "Can I sit here?" She asked.

"You may sit wherever you like, Miko,"

Inuyasha rolled his eyes as the other two girls came in, notably confused.

"They made lunch," Kagome stated, putting her hands in her lap. Oddly enough, she wasn't that hungry.

Sango and Kikyo came in and sat down opposite of Kagome.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Dig in," Inuyasha stated.

It was odd; it was like they were family just sitting down to lunch. They had been fighting so long that they almost forgot what it was like to be normal. There was still a bit of awkwardness between Kagome and Inuyasha; they would probably never talk about it. But what did it matter, what was, was and it was in the past, as long as they had an understanding and it seemed in their own way they did.

Kagome watched as life seemingly went on as if this was all just weird. She looked up to see him staring at her. "Are you not hungry?" He asked,

She looked back at the food; none appealed to her, but she didn't want to be rude so she took a little of everything and sat it on her plate, and then stared at it. Sesshomaru grew confused by her sudden change. All she really wanted to do was talk to him, not be in a room full of people. Kagome picked up a piece of rabbit meat and bit it.

It instantly made her sick. She covered her mouth and looked up at Sesshoamru again.

He held a look of confusion, but she wasn't confused at all. She didn't know why, but suddenly, without any doubt, she knew.

He was right.

She stood and then ran from the room.

Sesshomaru watched her run.

"Uh, you gonna get that?" Inuyasha asked,

"Maybe we should check-" Miroku stood.

"Sit down," Sango snapped,

Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow but left the room to find Kagome.

He found her outside in the not-so-secret-looking garden with its high bushed and vined walls.

"Miko,"

Kagome took in a breath, trying to calm her heart. This was real, this was all real. Panic set it.

"Miko," He came closer, and she finally turned around, and he saw her face. She looked scared.

"I keep thinking I must be dreaming," She breathed, "But you are real,"

He came closer,

"And they are all here; Naraku is dead, and who knows if I can go home, but what does that matter,"

"Kagome," He said calmly, and her darting eyes went to his.

"This is real,"

"What do you fear?" What had her so scared? He had never seen this woman scared, not really.

Her hand left her mouth and went to her tummy. "This, it's real, isn't it? You, you-" She couldn't even figure out what she was trying to say.

Sesshomaru grabbed both of her arms. "Miko, you are having a panic attack,"

She was panting,

"You must calm yourself, I am here,"

She took in some deep breaths and closed her eyes, but that just made her sick, so she opened them again.

"Are you well now?"

"No," She said calmer,

"Are you ill?"

"You could say that,"

Oh Gods.

Some women fantasized about how they would tell the father of their baby they were expecting, but she had never thought about this. She didn't know how especially to one who pretty much was sure she was. How could she tell him that she now believed him, knew it too?

With a shaky hand, she lifted one of his off her shoulder and moved it down and pressed it to her tummy, and let her eyes do the talking.

"You feel it?"

"I know it," She knew this was not normal; in humans, it could take weeks, sometimes months, before you knew.

He suspected it would take a few more days, but if she were pregnant with two? Of course, in her state, he wasn't about to tell her that.

"This must be the cause of your odd nature suddenly,"

"I was feeling a bit down earlier because I wanted to talk to you alone,"

"As did I, Miko,"

"I'm, you, you really did-

"I did; I do not regret it, and I shall do it many more times over if you allow me,"

"At one time this, the thought of a human mate and half-breed child, it, it made you angry,"

He breathed in and moved his hand away from her belly, and lifted her chin. "That is not how I feel now,"

"Your whole breath as long as I've known you;"

"Perhaps Miko, you have stolen that breath,"

She laughed; he was smooth with words,

"Do I pique your interest,"

Now, he wanted to laugh; he knew that was not her idea. "Woman, you piqued my interest in more ways than one and for a long time,"

She half smiles,

"Fatal attraction indeed," He peered,

"You threw out everything you believed for me?"

"So it would seem,"

She grabbed his shirt and held on. "Just like that?"

"It was no use fighting it," She won; she would always win; of course, he wasn't telling her that.

"What is it you humans say, the heart wants what the heart wants?"

"i thought you said once you dont have a heart,"

"I do now; it is beating within you,"

She smiled up at him, and then she went to her tiptoes, and he watched as she tilted her head back, and he knew instantly what she wanted, and who was he to deny her open wants? This was the first time she had reached for him.

He leaned down to claim her mouth and ran his free hand down her cheek.

Kagome felt warm, and surrounded, and safe, and she sighed into his mouth, and when the kiss broke, he didn't let her go. "Kagome?"

"Hmm?"

"Will you mate me?"

She smiled big.

"It is eternal, Miko, not even death will separate us,"

"That's because you would literally kill death,"

"Without hesitation if he so tried,"

"Death is a he?"

"Kagome,"

"Yes, please,"

That night was met with heated pleasure; the next ten months were met with warm love, and on a cold winter night, two babies were born. If there had been any coldness left in Sesshomaru's heart, it would have melted away as their soft cries reached his ears. But their mother had melted it long before they came along.

Kagome and Inuyasha never did talk about it.

Sango and Miroku had three kids of their own, including a set of twin girls as well.

Inuyasha and Kikyo never had any.

Kagome didn't return home, unsure of what would happen; Inuyasha would go back and forth for her till he couldn't any longer.

Sango died at 59, Miroku at 57. Kikyo died long before them, and Inuyasha fell prey to his human side as well. As he grew older, they knew each time he turned; it could be his last, and one day, which Sesshomaru calculated to be around 88, he died. Kagome would always be grateful to KIkyo for more than one reason.

At their deaths, Kagome would remember that lunch; it had been the first of many and many dinners, and many holidays together.

They grew together, lived together, loved together.

When they were gone, Sesshomaru decided it was time they all went through the well, and they did.

He could only fight death when death arrived, and it would not arrive for them for a long, long time.

But they were all there, sitting a long table older than time itself, his father at the head.

Kagome and Sesshomaru walked in hand in hand, heart to heart, and no, not even death could separate them.

Oh, and death was a girl, by the way.

The end.

"Any regrets?" Kagome asked,

"None, mate,"

"Would you do it again?"

"Over and over, Miko,"

She slapped his chest. "I dont mean that you pervert,"

He smirked,

"Sesshomaru,"

"Indeed,"

"Think you will fight it again?"

"Perhaps, but you will always win." Sesshomaru kisses her cheek.

"Shall we?"

"Indeed,"

"Dont take so long this time,"

"Hn wife, I will try,"

They smile as the light takes them.
