Meanwhile, Mimi was outside on the room balcony, watching the rain fall outside.
"I'm never going to get my outdoor bath today, am I," Mimi sighed.
"Cheer up, Mimi, there's always tomorrow morning. I'm sure the rain will let up then. Let's go to bed," Sora informed her.
"Hey, it's almost midnight. Do you think the Midnight Channel will show up," TK teased.
"Why are you bringing that up? Of course, it won't appear. We already dealt with it. It's over," Matt responded.
"Matt's right. There's no use worrying about something that doesn't exist. Come on, let's go to bed," Sora replied.
"Izzy and Tai haven't returned yet. I hope they're okay," Kari said.
"I'm sure they're fine. They can take care of themselves," Matt replied.
"Alright, the first thing I'm going to do tomorrow morning is go outside, breathe in the fresh air, and soak in a nice, relaxing open-air bath," Mimi replied.
Suddenly, the television in the room turned on.
"Okay, who has the remote," Sora asked.
"Cut it out, TK. It's not funny," Matt said, glaring at him.
"It wasn't me. The remote is over there by the TV stand," TK replied, pointing the remote out.
"Then, who turned it on," Kari asked.
The screen turned yellow before it became clear. The five watched in horror as what was not supposed to exist played on the television screen.
Episode 2
Izzy and I stared at the TV dumbfounded. There were multiple things that I wanted to comment on what I saw but I didn't know where to begin.
"We need to warn everyone about this," Izzy said, finally breaking the silence. "If those guests were talking about you, who knows how many people know about this program."
"You're right. Let's hope everyone is safe," I said.
Izzy and I quickly headed over to our room. Just when we opened the door, Sora stood before us. She grabbed our ears and pulled us inside the room.
"Listen, I am not an easy girl. Do you hear me? I am not an easy girl," Sora shouted, beet red.
"We heard you the first time. No need to shout," I replied, jokingly covering my ears.
"I guess that means you saw it too," Izzy said to everyone.
"Yeah, what was that all about? I thought we defeated the one who created the Midnight Channel," Kari said.
"Clearly, that is not the case. Otherwise, it would not have aired as such," Matt said.
"Then, how would you explain the nonsense the TV was spewing," Sora asked.
"How should I know? I'm just as confused as you are," Matt retorted.
"Taking it out on each other won't do us any good. We need to figure out what is going on," Izzy said, calming the mood.
"The last time the TV channel was clear, our Digimon was inside the TV," Kari said.
"You don't think something happened to them, do you," Mimi asked, concerned.
"I checked just in case, and I can ascertain that our Digimon are safe," Izzy replied.
"That's good to hear," Sora said, relieved.
"But, if it's not our Digimon, what else could be on the other side of the TV," TK asked.
"Remember what Teddie said during our travels at the TV World. Yu's group was also exploring the TV World. They were looking for their friends who were kidnapped and thrown into the TV," I stated.
"That would mean someone from our side would have been inside the TV to conjure that program. But all of us are accounted for," Matt said.
"Not all of us," Izzy replied.
"I tried contacting Joe, but he's not responding. I worried," Mimi said, concerned.
"Calm down, Mimi. I'm sure Joe is okay. Besides, I don't think his shadow would create such an elaborate program like this," Sora said.
"Okay, who else could it be that may have created such a program," Matt asked.
"Maybe it doesn't have to be one of us. It could be someone who knows us or is related to us," Izzy explained.
"Did you guys contact Davis and the others," I asked TK and Kari.
"I already did, and everyone informed me that they are well," TK informed me.
"That's good to hear," Kari said.
"I also texted everyone we know overseas, and they responded," Mimi added.
"Are we missing everyone," I asked.
"What if it's not just within our circle? What about Yu's group? We've met them a few times. Someone from their side could be misinterpreting our relationship with each other," Sora said.
"When you put it that way, the culprit is obvious," Matt said.
"What do you mean," TK asked.
"The person pulling these silly shows is none other than that clown in their group, Teddie," Matt explained.
"Why would Teddie do something like that," Mimi asked him.
"He's the host of that TV show, right? He's probably playing a prank and trying to start something rather than inflict any ill will towards us," Matt stated.
"The scary part is I could see him do that," Sora said.
"Still, that's pretty mean for a prank. Teddie is such a sweet, innocent guy," Mimi said, trying to defend him.
"Let's meet up with Yu and the others tomorrow. They might know what is going on. I'm sure it's just one big misunderstanding," Kari suggested.
"I remember the waitress saying Yukiko was meeting up with Yu and their group tomorrow. We can catch her while she leaves the inn and ask if we can join her in meeting their group," I said.
"It'll be a bit sudden, but we have no choice. We need to find the underlying cause before more people get hurt," Sora said.
'I agree. The sooner we take care of this situation, the better. I'd hate it if this turned into something dangerous like before," Izzy said.
"Let's meet at the front door tomorrow morning to find this Yukiko person," Matt said.
"But I wanted to take an early outdoor bath," Mimi whined.
"No one said we had to leave that early, just reasonably early," TK said.
"Alright, I've got to make the most of my time tomorrow," Mimi said, pumping herself up.
"At least someone isn't too worried about this," Kari said.
"I still think Teddie is innocent, but I'd like to meet Yu's group tomorrow. We need to catch up and talk about fun times," Mimi said.
"Alright, get some rest, everyone. Let's hope tomorrow isn't too crazy," I said.
"Good night, and don't come peeking on our side," Sora said.
"After the TV show, that's the last thing I want to do," Matt retorted.
The next day, we met up at the front door as planned. As we waited at the front door, I walked to the front desk and asked if they had seen Yukiko today. Once I heard their response, I returned to the group and explained the situation to them.
"She left earlier today? What for," Matt asked.
"Perhaps she is a morning person. Besides, it's not like we asked her to meet up with us today," Sora replied.
"Did you ask where she could have gone," Izzy asked.
"They didn't know for sure, but they said that most young people usually hang out at Junes," I reported.
"Why would anyone hang out at a department store for fun? Is there nothing else interesting about this town," TK asked.
"TK, that's rude. If that's our lead, then we should go to Junes. Besides, didn't you mention that you wanted to buy travel supplies and souvenirs for Yu and his friends as thanks," Kari mentioned.
"Kari's right. We were planning to visit there. If we happen to bump into them while we are there, that will benefit us," Sora said.
"All right, let's go to this department store, wherever it may be," Matt replied.
We got on a bus and headed to Junes. As we arrived there, we bumped into an unexpected person.
"Joe," Mimi shouted, running towards him and hugging him from behind.
"Mimi, everyone, you're still here," Joe said, surprised.
"What are you doing here? We thought you had a project to do at school," Matt said.
"Yes, well, I figured that the project could wait. I wanted to be sure you are all okay," Joe explained.
"So, you saw the Midnight Channel and were worried about it," TK said.
"Wait, you knew about it," Joe asked, surprised.
"We're shocked you managed to see it," Sora answered.
"Yeah, you didn't reply to our calls or anything when we contacted you," Mimi said.
"After watching it, I wasn't in the proper state of mind to communicate. I'm sorry about that," Joe said.
"As long as you are safe, that is important. Besides, with you here, that means the whole gang is back together," I said.
"How did you know we were going to meet in Junes," Sora asked.
"I wanted to buy some stuff and asked the locals where to get generic goods," Joe replied.
"We came here looking for Yu and the others," Matt explained.
"Of course, if they're not here, it wouldn't be bad to do a little bit of shopping just to have some souvenirs for our families," TK said.
"Remember, we want to buy something for Yu and Yukiko as thanks for their hospitality," Sora informed.
"Well, there's no point standing around here. Let's head inside," Matt suggested.
We head inside Junes and look around. It was an enormous department store for a rural town, rivaling the types of stores one would see in Tokyo. As we looked around the various levels and departments in search of Yu and his friends, I checked the map of the department store. There was a food court and a children's playing area on the rooftop of Junes. I assumed that would be their meeting point.
I headed towards the rooftop. I was surprised at how busy it was with families and children. Most likely, there was nowhere else to go during the holiday season. As I looked around, I heard clapping. Turning my eyes towards the sound, I found a couple of familiar faces.
"Hey, look over there," Chie said, pointing at me.
Yu, Yosuke, and Yukiko turned to my direction as I walked up to them.
"Hey, you made it to Junes. You slept okay last night," Yu asked me.
"It was great. And thank you again for accommodating such a large group like us on such short notice," I said to Yukiko.
"It's the least I can do after all you've done for us. I'm glad you found your stay hospitable. I'll make sure to let the staff know," Yukiko replied.
"You stayed at Yukiko's inn? Isn't her place amazing," Chie said proudly.
"You're exaggerating," Yukiko responded, blushing.
"I'll let my friends know you're up here. We wanted to see you," I said.
"Had we known you were coming, we would have offered to hang out with you guys. However, we're a little busy with something," Yosuke said.
"By chance, are you referring to the Midnight Channel," I asked.
"Wait, you saw that," Yukiko said, surprised.
"That's embarrassing," Yosuke said regrettably.
"Tell me about it," I sighed.
"Just so we're clear, I am nothing like what the TV program said about me, so please ignore it," Chie sternly said.
"About you? What are you talking about? I didn't see you in the Midnight Channel," I told her.
"Wait, you didn't," Chie questioned, confused.
"We're still talking about the Midnight Channel, right," Yosuke asked.
"Yeah, if anything, I should be apologizing to you. I'm sorry you had to see all those weird names about us," I replied.
"Something does not seem right," Yu said.
Just as I was about to explain what was happening, Matt and the others arrived at the rooftop and found us.
"There they are," Matt said.
"Hello, Yu, Chie, Yosuke, and Yukiko. It's been a while," Mimi said, giving everybody a high five.
"Yes, it's great to meet you again," Chie responded.
"It's not much, but here is a token of our appreciation for what you and the staff have done for us," Sora said, handing her tins of treats.
"Oh no, I could not possibly accept this many gifts," Yukiko replied.
"Please, we insist. It's the least that we can do," Izzy said.
"It just goes to show how great the Amagi Inn is," Chie said to Yukiko.
"Well then, I'll share it with the staff. Thank you," Yukiko told us.
"So, should we tell them about the thing," TK asked me.
"I already informed them about it," I replied.
"First, we should tell each other what we saw on the Midnight Channel. We might be seeing different things," Yu informed everyone.
"What do you mean," Kari asked.
We exchanged information about what we watched and inferred from last night.
"Interestingly, we both saw the same type of fighting tournament, but the recipients were only related to our respective groups," Izzy said.
"Why would two different Midnight Channels air at the same time? Has it ever happened before," Kari questioned.
"This is the first time we've heard about it, too. Then again, there's still so much that we don't know about the Midnight Channel," Yosuke said.
"It also doesn't change the fact that Kanji, Rise, and Teddie are missing," Yukiko added.
"Do you think they're disappearance is related to the Midnight Channel," Joe asked.
"As much as we hope not, the timing of when all of this happened cannot be a coincidence," Yu replied.
"I think you mentioned seeing the Midnight Channel when someone is inside the TV. We have a theory it might be Teddie," Matt said.
"Even though that would make sense, I doubt it would be him. He did come from the TV World, so getting forcefully thrown in by someone wouldn't do anything," Yosuke said.
"Then, who else would it be," TK asked.
"It could be someone entirely different we don't know about," Chie said.
We looked at her in surprise.
"Was it something I said," Chie asked.
"To be fair, the criteria weren't whether or not we knew them. They just happened to be on the news the nights before the Midnight Channel aired," Yukiko added.
"Right, it's not like we knew about the news reporter, and we didn't fully understand Kanji and Rise until we properly met them," Yu replied.
"Was there anyone important in the news these past few days that would have triggered the Midnight Channel," Izzy asked.
"Outside of a plane hijack, I don't recall anything newsworthy or any people who stood out," Yosuke answered.
"Maybe one of the pilots or flight attendants was thrown into the TV," TK said.
"But it still doesn't answer why they chose us, out of all the people in the world, to partake in a crazy fighting tournament," Sora said.
"Maybe the person likes combat sports," Matt suggested.
"Either way, we have to save whoever was thrown into the TV no matter what," Kari said.
"In that case, let's go to our special spot," Yosuke said.
"Special spot," Joe asked, confused.
"Hey, we can't just go in there without Teddie. We need a way back out, you know," Chie said.
"Don't worry, I already had Teddie create a permanent exit for us in case something happened," Yosuke responded.
"You thought everything out. That's impressive," Sora said.
"I mean, what if one of us slipped into the TV accidentally," Yosuke questioned.
"As if something absurd would happen," TK said.
"Now that we have a goal in mind, is everyone ready," Yu said.
"Let's get this case started. It's clear something is amiss, and it is up to us to fix it," I said.
We headed down to the electronics section, where the large televisions were.
"So, what exactly are we doing here," Joe asked.
"You're not planning to jump into the TV like this, are you? There are way too many people," Sora said.
"Well, it's the holidays, so the store is going to be very busy," Yosuke explained.
"I think it's nice. It means your business is booming," Yu responded.
"You seem to be very calm about the strangest of things," Joe told Yu.
"You have no idea," Yosuke sighed.
"It's been a while since we've done this," Chie said.
"I'm a bit concerned," Sora added.
"Don't worry about it. If we stick together, we can make the impossible possible," Mimi said, smiling.
"At least one of us is enjoying this," Matt said.
Yu slowly brought his hand closer to the TV, sticking his hand through it.
"Wow, you can do that, too? That's amazing," I said to Yu.
"Forget about that! What are you doing? There are still too many people here," Chie informed Yu.
"Actually, they're starting to leave now. Now is our chance," TK said.
Once the last customer was out of sight, everyone jumped inside the TV. As we dived into the TV World, the portal suddenly inverted its color, and static sparked throughout the realm.
"Wait, I don't remember this part happening," Sora said.
"Isn't this different from usual," Yukiko questioned, concerned.
More sparks began to fly, and a bright light enveloped us.
"This is bad," TK said worriedly.
"What do we do," Chie asked with a fearful tone.
"It's not like we can stop falling," Yosuke exclaimed.
"Everyone, brace yourselves," Matt shouted.
"Try and stick together. It's the only way," Izzy exclaimed.
Eventually, the bright light consumed us, and our minds went blank.
Once again, I found myself in that familiar blue room. The same eccentric woman was sitting on the desk. This time, she gazed at the frozen floor indicator, lost in thought.
"Well, this is a surprise," the attendant said while keeping a straight face. "I didn't think I would meet you again so soon. You always catch me at the most inopportune time. Are you spying on me?"
It was hard to gauge if she was serious or toying with me. While the woman's presence dazzled me, I still questioned my appearance here. I thought one needed a contract to enter such a location.
"You're wondering why you came without the master signing your contract," the attendant said, reading my mind. "I don't have the authority to provide such a thing, but as you are a former attendant, you know these moments happen for a reason. By my calculations, I wouldn't call it a contract. A better term for this is a trial or a game. I do love a good game, after all."
I questioned why something like a trial was enough of a reason to enter an important space.
"If you thought your journey this past year was difficult enough, the events you will face henceforth could shatter your core. Just the mere thought of your inner struggles shakes me to my bones. The anticipation of what follows entices me," the attendant continued.
What does she mean by inner struggle? Why would these events shake me and my friends? I need to know the reason soon before my friends get hurt.
"I admire your eyes. They're like someone I know very well. If my instincts are correct, I'm sure you will no doubt overcome this ordeal. Now, show me you have what it takes to proceed beyond the destiny you have opened. I'll be waiting for you," the attendant smiled.
My vision turned white before I asked if I would see her again.
"Tai! Tai! Wake up, Tai! Wake up!"
I struggled to open my eyes as I adjusted to my new surroundings. Somehow, I was in the middle of a school entrance. Stickers covered the shoe lockers, and the hallways had art supplies and sporting equipment scattered about. It was as though no one bothered to clean up the school after a cultural festival.
"Tai, thank goodness you're awake."
I finally focused on the one calling my name.
"Agumon, how did you get here," I asked.
"I'm not sure how, but I saw you on the floor and couldn't abandon you," Agumon replied.
"Thanks, Agumon. You're a good friend."
"Are we back at your school, Tai?"
"I don't think so. I could have sworn I was, wait, I remember now. We are inside the TV World."
"Did Gabumon or Tentomon fall into the TV World?"
"No, everyone is okay. It looks like a different person this time around. Luckily, we fell right in the middle of this school."
"For a fake school, it looks very realistic to me."
"True, the places we've visited were usually too bizarre to be realistic, but this school looks very tame."
"I wonder what kind of person created this place."
"That's what I want to know, too. Let's walk around and see if we can find any clues. Who knows, we might be able to bump into Matt and the others."
"How did you guys get separated?"
"Well, there was this shining light."
Before I could continue, I bumped into an invisible barrier.
"Ow! Hey, what gives," I asked, annoyed at the opened front door.
"What's wrong, Tai," Agumon asked, looking at me confused from the other side of the door.
"That's weird. I can't leave this school. Something's blocking my way."
"I don't see anything."
"I don't either. Hey, Agumon, give me a hand."
Agumon grabbed my hand and tried to pull me out of the building, but I wouldn't budge.
"You're right. You can't leave. It's strange," Agumon said, reentering the school.
"There must be a way to get out of here. Let's check out the rest of the school," I replied.
I tried to walk down the hallway, but the same barrier blocked my path. I went to another hallway only to experience the same situation.
"Why am I boxed it? What's going on," I questioned.
I noticed dark silhouettes that looked like students who were meandering the halls and minding their business. I tried to shout at them to catch their attention, but they ignored me and continued their day. When I felt I wouldn't get a response from them, I heard a loud whistle. Turning around, I saw a student with long white hair in a ponytail marching towards me.
"There you are. Don't move," the student said sternly.
"Me," I asked.
"Who else am I talking to? You're one of the participants in that Grand Prix: Tai Kamiya, the Indecisive Jester."
"Hearing that said by someone else truly hurts. Look, I can explain everything."
"You better start talking. I don't remember the student council giving you or whoever is running this event permission."
"I apologize for that. I'm also trying to find the organizer for this event."
While explaining the situation to her, the PA system turned on.
"Welcome, everyone, to the D1 Grand Prix, where people fight to the death and let their real emotions speak out," the announcer declared.
I recognize that voice. It sounded like one of Yu's friends.
"They took over the PA system, too? All right, that's enough. As student council president, I order you to shut this event down immediately," the student declared.
Was this student the student council president? She seemed young for her age. Was she a first- or second-year student?
"It looks like Miss Spoilsport over here doesn't know the real definition of fun. No worries, we have ways to deal with party crashers. Get her," the announcer shouted.
Immediately, the students who were minding their own business turned their attention to us and aggressively approached us.
"This isn't funny. Violence doesn't solve anything," I told the announcer.
Although I could not escape due to the invisible walls, the student council president stood her ground.
"All right, you asked for it," the student council president said, cracking her knuckles.
She judo-threw each student all over the entranceway until no one was left.
"That should knock everyone back to the senses," the student council president said, wiping her hands while admiring her handiwork.
"Remind me not to get her angry," I told Agumon.
"Is that the way a student council president should react? Naughty students need discipline," the announcer declared.
Suddenly, a TV appeared above the student council president, falling on top of her.
"Look out," I shouted.
As I pushed her out of the way, Agumon fired a fireball at the TV, disintegrating it as it crumbled.
"Tai, are you okay," Agumon asked, walking towards us.
"We're safe for now. Thanks, Agumon," I replied, patting its head.
"You can talk and shoot fireballs from your mouth? I thought you were a stuffed animal. What are you," the student council president asked Agumon, confused.
"I'm Agumon. Nice to meet you, miss. All this fighting is making me hungry. Do you have any snacks," Agumon asked.
"Is he your pet," the student council president asked me.
"It's a bit hard to explain if you've never seen a Digimon before," I told her.
"Digimon," the student council president repeated, perplexed.
"That's boring. You should have just died," the announcer scoffed.
I turned towards one of the PA speakers.
"You're Rise, right? I don't know what kind of prank you're playing, but that was dangerous. This madness ends now," I told her.
"You thought that was dangerous? You haven't seen anything yet. Also, the name is Risette, and don't you forget it. It's time for the general to make his important announcement," Risette said.
One of the TVs hanging on the ceiling suddenly turned on, revealing Teddie wearing the same outfit he did on the Midnight Channel.
"Welcome, everyone, to the D1 Grand Prix, featuring the manliest of all men," Teddie said.
"So, you were the one behind all of this. Take off that ridiculous costume and show us who you are," the student council president told him.
"That's quite funny, coming from you. Try listening to your advice," Teddie replied.
"What are you talking about," the student council president asked.
"Teddie, I'm not sure what's going on, but this prank has gone on for too long. Let's stop here before things get out of control," I told him.
"Tai, you talk too much. The people don't want to hear speeches; they're here for a fight. I must give them what they want. Now, bring out his opponent," Teddie declared.
White smoke covered the entire entrance, blocking our vision.
"Where did all this smoke come from," the student council president asked, confused.
"Agumon, stay close to me," I said.
"Don't worry, Tai, I'm right here with you," Agumon replied.
When the smoke cleared, I spotted a familiar face.
"Izzy, thank goodness you're safe. I was beginning to worry about what happened to everyone," I said.
"Thanks for worrying about me. It's good to know our leader is finally taking the initiative for a change," Izzy replied.
The way he spoke to me felt off, but that's not what's important.
"Since we're in the TV World inside a potential location, I was hoping you could use your ability to track where everyone is to see how they were doing," I continued.
"Now, why would I want to do that," Izzy asked.
"Izzy, is something wrong? Why are you talking like that?"
"Well, it sounds like you're just using me to gain more knowledge to make your life easier, just like everyone else. Has it ever occurred to you that I have opinions? I'm not an obedient robot."
"I'm sorry you felt that way, but I promise it's not like that."
"There you go again. First, you demand answers. Then, when things go south, you shy away. How indecisive can you be?"
"That's not what I meant. I was concerned for your well-being. It's the truth."
"Please, there is only one truth: you order people around while I go on abused like a computer that's left on for days. I'm tired of that treatment, and I'm tired of you ordering me around!"
The student council president and Agumon looked at the scene between Izzy and me and looked at each other with confusion.
"Something's not right. The Izzy that I know would never act like that. If those are your suppressed feelings, I apologize for not noticing it," I said.
"Don't worry, Tai. It's not your fault you're ignorant and insensitive. Sometimes, the truth must hit your dense mind to understand," Izzy continued.
Izzy shattered a floating card in front of him, summoning his comrade while donning an attire I hadn't seen him wear in a long time.
"Izzy, what are you doing," I asked.
"I'm doing what I should have done a long time ago. Get Tai, Tentomon," Izzy replied.
Tentomon quickly Digivolved to Kabuterimon and rushed towards me. Agumon, the student council president, and I jumped out of the way as Kabuterimon zoomed by and flew above us.
"Kabuterimon, that was dangerous. Izzy, what was that all about," I shouted, confused.
"Finally, the ancient battle between brains and brawn has begun. Who will come out victorious," Risette announced on the PA system.
The students cheered on as our battle unfolded before them.
"By my calculations, the chance of my success is 99.9%. There's absolutely no way someone who could barely think for himself like Tai could defeat someone of my genius," Izzy declared.
Kabuterimon zoomed down, preparing to crush me with its weight. I braced for impact. My feelings resonated with Agumon, and the card in front of me shattered. Agumon Digivolved into Greymon and protected me from the incoming attack. Greymon pushed Kabuterimon out of the way as it hovered around us.
"Thanks, Greymon," I said.
"Don't mention it, Tai. However, I'm still not sure what's going on. It's not like Izzy and Kabuterimon to harm us like that, and I don't want to hurt my friends," Greymon said.
"You're right. I'm sure we can figure this out without creating any violence."
Kabuterimon charged at us again. This time, Greymon held its ground. Kabuterimon pushed Greymon against a wall.
"Kabuterimon, come to your senses. I don't want to fight you," Greymon said.
Greymon threw Kabuterimon against the wall, hoping it would slow him down. Kabuterimon fired electric balls at Greymon. Greymon responded by firing fireballs at them. The two attacks exploded upon contact. Through the smoke, Kabuterimon charged at Greymon once more. Again, Greymon held its ground as they ran into another wall.
"Shocking Touch," Kabuterimon shouted.
Kabuterimon sent electric shockwaves from its palms throughout Greymon's body, causing Greymon great pain.
"Hang in there, Greymon. Izzy, I'm serious; tell Kabuterimon to stop," I said.
"Do you think asking for things to happen will lead to results? Look at what is happening around you. Pretty soon, all this collateral damage throughout this school will be your fault because you didn't stop me sooner. Why delay the inevitable if it is just going to happen? Your insipid attitude is not going to save lives. You're just going to hurt more people. Here's an example," Izzy stated.
Kabuterimon stopped shocking Greymon and slowly approached the student council president, its hands still charged with electricity. The student council collapsed to her knees, unable to flee under the fear of Kabuterimon.
"Izzy, don't lay a finger on her. She's not a part of this," I told her.
"We all have to make a choice, Tai. You're too far away to save her in time if you run towards her. You could save her by stopping me, but you wouldn't lay a finger on your dear friend, would you," Izzy sneered.
A switch flicked on my head. At that moment, I knew what to do. I gritted my teeth and charged after Izzy.
"That's right, Tai, run towards me with your anger. Then, when you're about to hit me, you'll stop and second-guess your actions. After that, I will let Kabuterimon crush that girl to prove how pathetic you are because you overthink," Izzy rambled.
I kicked the soccer ball at Izzy, who was surprised by my action. He tried to block it but dropped his crystal ball in the process. When it was about to hit the ground, I caught the crystal ball with my foot and kicked it up.
"Clench your teeth, Izzy," I shouted.
I caught the crystal ball and slammed it on the side of his head. Izzy fell unconscious.
"I hope this wakes you up," I said sadly.
Feeling my resolve, Greymon recovered from its static state and ran after Kabuterimon. Just as Kabuterimon was about to harm the student council president, Greymon picked Kabuterimon up and threw it on the ground.
"Tail Crash," Greymon shouted.
Just as Kabuterimon was about to get up, Greymon used its tail to slam Kabuterimon up towards the ceiling. As Kabuterimon fell, Greymon jumped towards it and used its tail to swiftly slam Kabuterimon back down to the ground, creating a large cloud of dust. When the dust settled, Greymon stood tall as Kabuterimon lay on the ground motionless, returning to its Rookie state.
