Chapter 13 Joho Teikyosha (情報提供者): Researching a suspicious incident at a high school
I sat inside my dark room in front of my laptop and slurped my instant ramen. Today had been very interesting again. I had found out about a suspicious incident at a high school. Apparently there had been an explosion. There was a flash of light and a loud explosion noise which could be heard by almost all of the students inside the school, and students, that were outside at the time of the event saw the flash of light striking form the heavens. Even some People from outside the school had seen the flash.
Rumours have it that the room which was struck was unharmed but objects inside were all charred and burned to dust. It took more prying to find out the next information, but I found it. At the same time of the incident a twin sister of one of the students, which was supposedly deceased in a car crash several months prior, had reappeared. They said it was the Ichiko syndrome, and she did not actually die, but was in the hospital in the meantime. I checked the hospital record but did not find anything at first. Oh wait, she got treated at the site of the accident and rushed to the hospital, but died of her injuries? Umm.. what? What was going on there? Could it really be the Ichiko Syndrome? Doubtfully? There is likely another explanation for this…
Why did the Kurusu family buy so many weird materials…could it be, that… not that would be too ridiculous to be true…
It sounded like a sensational story. Maybe I could capitalize on it and write an outrageous sensationalized article about this incident. No. I needed to take this seriously. I would not write about the hospital record and only about the incident, the explosion and the reappeared student and would mention the Ichiko syndrome , and would not go any further.
The Ichiko syndrome… is most peculiar. I don´t know if it was involved this time, but this is seriously weird.
Anyway, Saisho Saikou had Ichiko designed to be the heir to his company, but she refused to accept and went away to travel the wold in search of her lost twin sister. Ugh …twin sister? That sounds awful similar to the high school incident, but with what little information I have, I can´t draw any conclusions.
Some elderly people could remember that Ichiko saikou had a twin sister, but they would get headache and confusion when they tried to think further about it. The vanished twin sister was named Tanoshi saikou, if reports are accurate. There were rumours that Tanoshi had a dispute with her father because he planned something bad, which she was against and he then somehow had her erased from reality, but I have not been able to follow on those rumours. I will not tell anyone about those rumours, except if I had a good reason to do so.
Also, the Saikou corp is really imposing and trying to hack into their databases is a waste of time. They are just that powerful.
Selling newspaper was my way of getting money. If the opportunity came I would write the most sensationalized stories to get people's attention, and would embellish the stories without hesitation. I needed the money after all. Of course I did not go too far, because that would be counterproductive.
Besides Newspapers I also have… other ways of getting money. Namely selling peoples information and dirty secrets. It is fun to pry in and get all those juicy secrets. My customers pay me a lot for the harder to obtain ones. This is where I got my alias "Info-Chan" from.
The man who begot me, I will not call him my father, is a failure. He is a drunkard and a waste of time. He neglected me when I needed him the most. I really hate to admit it, but it still stings a lot.
Anyways…I know why he is the way he is … he lost the trial against Ryoba Aishi. He became the laughingstock of the nation and fell into despair.
Speaking of Aishis, one of the students at the high school where the explosion happened is an Aishi too. Her Name is Ayano Aishi. Maybe I can frame her for murder in the future, but that will probably not even be necessary, because from what I know, those Yanderes will readily kill to get their love interest. So goading her into murdering her rivals should be a piece of cake. I could pretend to help her and collect all the evidence from her, and in the end I can expose her and her piece-of-shit mother together, and get my revenge for what that women has done to my family.
I never knew my mother. She died at my birth. I had to raise myself on my own. I can do it alone and don't need anyone's help for what I do. Of course having connections and business partners with common goals is useful and even necessary , but I have always been a lone wolf.
I don´t care what I have to do to survive, I don´t care who I have to harm or kill, I just have to avoid getting detected. I have dirtied my hands before already, and while it was risky, I got the much needed cash in order to survive.
These dumb people. Most of them are so gullible. And they love sensational stories. There is a bias in people to be drawn to negative information. Drama, Divorces, Accidents, Rumours, Supernatural Occurrences, Murders, Crimes, Natural Disasters- all of it draws attention. Of course you need to throw in some good news too, because otherwise the constant negativity will repulse people eventually, and losing customers would be counterproductive.
Back to the newspaper I will write. I think this story will be quite juicy and many customers will buy it. This will be fun!
