Ch 3: "Lex"
LENA KIERAN LUTHOR POV
"Ugh!" I groaned as I sat up on the couch.
Another Hangover means another day!
"Who put a blanket on me?" I think out loud. Every time I pass out I wake up with a blanket over me.
"Whatever…" I grumble, I must have done it myself…just too wasted to remember.
I stand up and go to the room attached to my office.
I never bothered to buy a house, I am sure I would rarely go there anyway.
Plus it will be an empty house anyway.
I took a shower and changed into a fresh set of clothes.
"Let's get this day over with…" I mumble.
I take my phone and call Eve.
"Eve cancel all my appointments for today. I have some work."
"Of course Mam." I hung up the phone as soon as she finished.
I then call Sam.
"Hey, Lena! What's up?"
"Take the day off. I have some important work today."
"What work?" She questioned.
"Lex asked to meet me today and I am." I could tell she was about to protest but changed her mind.
She sighed. "Ok. Just take care of yourself ok?" She says sternly.
I chuckle. "Of course. See you later."
"See you" I hung up after that.
I called the prison warden, where lex was.
"I am Lena Luthor."
"Ah! Miss. Luthor I have been expecting your call." I roll my eyes. Of course, he has.
"So I think you know what this call is about?" The second I make sure his family is safe, I am gonna get every information he has.
"Yes, Mam. You can come as soon as possible."
"Of course!" I say and hung up the phone.
I went downstairs to the garage where Andrew is waiting for me.
"Where will we be going mam?" He asked.
"Prison."
He didn't say anything but nodded and closed my door.
On the way, I got two texts.
PI: I got the info on Miss. Tessmacher's Family.
PB: Warden's family is safe now.
Both the texts put a smile on my face.
Today is my lucky day. This prison day might just be worth it.
"We are here Mam."
"Thanks, Andrew!" I said when he opened the door. He nodded and went back in.
I marched into the prison ready to face my brother.
I was led into a cell that looked like a fancy hotel room if anything, where Lex was sitting on the sofa. A chessboard is on the table in front of him. I sat across from him.
"Lena! My sweet sister!"
"Lex! My bastard brother!" I say back.
He chuckled. "I see you still don't like me after my gift."
"I am happy about that gift lex but I think you are not. I think your gift didn't made the desirable effect on me." I said as I leaned back.
"Why do you think so?"
This time I chuckled. "You think I didn't notice the displeasure on your face when I shot back that comment. Or that you expected to see me weak and defeated so that you could manipulate me. I have been playing your game for far too long, to not know your tricks." From this day you will be playing my game.
He laughed. "Well, well so you finally are growing up! What do you say for a game of chess?" He asks as he makes the first move.
"Sure…" I say as I also make my move.
"Don't think I forgot about your proposal. What is it?" I ask as I make my move after he does.
"I want you to work with me. Together. Like old times." He says making me laugh.
"Why do you think I would ever agree to that!? Or you are just doing it because I cut you off?" I ask in a mocking tone. I cut his money supply off 2 months ago. He was using money from a shell corporation.
I bought it.
Now he can't go to his exclusions to Kaznia and he got impatient.
I noticed how he clenched his jaw as he knocked another one of my soldiers off the board.
"I would say you have grown some horns, but you still haven't outed Kara Danvers and took revenge on her after she used you and made you an idiot. You still are the same weak woman who doesn't deserve the Luthor name."
"That's because I am not a monster. Whatever she did to me doesn't involve the citizens of National City why would I take away their hero. She does right by the city even if she hasn't done the same with me."
He chuckled. "Still being naïve and weak, I didn't expect any different from you. Now on to my proposal. I think you would be very interested to work with me. I have a Kryptonian on a leash, who will do anything I say." My hand stopped mid-air before I made my move.
I did not expect this at ALL! He has a Kryptonian!?
I will have to look into it immediately!
"No." Seeing his shocked expression made me very happy. He is always good at masking his emotions, but I truly caught him off guard this time.
He sure thought that this will be his trump card and he would get me to do his dirty work.
But NOT this time!
This time I will not say yes to anything until I know all the story and his plan!
"You are making a mistake. With this decision and in this game. You will lose both." He said as he made his move and stood up.
"I might be making a mistake with this decision but I win this game…" I say as I take my chess piece.
"Check," I say as I place the piece down. I lean down to directly look him in the eye.
"And Mate!" I say as I knock his queen off the board.
"Next time call me here with a better offer or threat whichever one you prefer!" I say and turn around and walk out of the cell with a smirk on my face.
But turn around with a smile.
"The next time you talk to mother dearest tell her that I bested Alexander Joseph Luthor in Chess." Satisfied with his fuming face I walk out of there.
I take out my phone.
"Hello Warden, I suppose you got my message."
"Yes, Miss. Luthor, I accept the deal. I trust you more than Mr. Luthor's words anyway."
"I am delighted you think so. Let's meet tomorrow for dinner?"
"Sure."
"Great! I will mail you the details."
Everything is going perfectly. I think as sit down in my car.
"Everything to your liking Miss. Luthor?" Andrew asks.
I smile. "Yes, Andrew, great job with the warden."
"Thanks, Mam. Anything else?"
"Yes actually. Where is the PI with the whereabouts of lex's destination in Kaznia?"
"Sadly, Nowhere mam." This is not good.
"Tell him I will pay him double of what I am paying him and I will quadruple it if I get the info by tomorrow Lunch." He widens his eyes before nodding.
"As you wish mam."
