I do not own RWBY or Pokemon in any way.

John Smith has seen a lot during his many travels...Running into a version of one of his friends back at Beacon was not one of them...

Currently the version of Jaune Arc was practically forced towards the wall as Blake Belladonna and Sun Wukong confronted him about the fact on how he was even alive?!

"How are you alive?!"asked Blake, wondering how someone she thought was dead for months is currently facing her right now.

"Yeah, dude! You had a funeral and everything!"added Sun, backing up Blake.

"I don't know what you're talking about, as I'm not this Jaune Arc you keep referring me to. My name is John Smith."said John and his defense, trying to act coo, that way they wouldn't get more suspicious about his identity.

"Dude, John Smith is the most fake sounding name I've ever heard. Did you just pulled that name out of your butt thinking that people would fall for it?"questions Sun, wondering how John would ever think that John Smith was a real sounding name.

Sure there are John Smith's all over Remnant, but how many look exactly like a guy they thought was dead for months?!

"Look, I've never met you too until today."said John, who was technically telling the truth as he has barely met this version of Blake and Sun today.

"Blake, how do you know this young man?"inquired her father, causing Blake to turn to face him.

"He was one of my friends at Beacon. We were not that close but we talked from time to time. I thought he died at the Battle of Beacon, because he went with Pyrrha Nikos to face Cinder Fall, and both of them perished there on the tower."said Blake, giving a brief summary to what happened at the end of the battle.

'So that's what happened to the version of me and the version of Pyrrha of this world...Dang!' thought John, as even though it wasn't his Pyrrha, he was still upset that a version of her ended up perishing.

"Ruby swore up and down that you died! So how on Remnant are you alive?"questions Blake as she got and John's face, making him feel uncomfortable as he was not used to beautiful women being this close to him.

"Um, you're a little too close."said John, who is right now trying to keep himself calm, that way his Pokemon didn't get the wrong idea I would pop out of their pokeballs on their own.

"I want an answer!"responded Blake, as she knows how devastated the others were by the loss of Jaune, and here he was alive and well, acting like he's never met her before.

"Look, I don't know who this Jaune Arc is! There are thousands of people on the face of Remnant, so it's very likely that at least two people are going to look exactly the same. I mean, there's only so much faces out there."said John, hoping that explanation will make Blake back off.

"He's got a point, Blake. I mean, I hardly knew Jaune, but this guy is not acting anything like him as he's way too calm"said Sun, feeling that something was off with John as he wasn't acting like the Jaune he met a beacon.

"Plus, he looks a little bit older than seventeen."added the monkey faunus.

"Hmm... I suppose you have a point. The Jaune I know would be freaking out right now, but this guy is way too calm for someone who's supposedly is Jaune "said Blake, who sounded like she was listening but John suspected that she was still suspicious.

"Hey, I'm telling the truth here. I really don't know who this Jaune Arc person is that's my name is John Smith, like I keep telling you."said John, repeating the same lines he's practice over and over again before he came to this version of Remnant.

"Fine, but I got my eye on you!"said Blake, before she walked away to another room.

"Well that was intense."said John while adjusting himself."I don't know who your daughter thinks I am, but I'm not him. I'm just a traveler who just wants to get to Mistral so he can become a farmer."

"Your a little too well dressed for a farmer."said Kali, as most people who wear suits don't want to become farmers.

"Let's just call it a retirement of sworts, as I'm tired of dealing with a bunch of stuff I used to deal with."said John, who was once again technically telling the truth, as he's experienced a lot while he was a member of Team Rainbow Rocket.

"The boat only shows up around once a week. And you just missed it."said Ghira."I insist that you stay with me as I don't want any of them or... extremists on this island to do anything to you. Last thing the faunus need is more bad publicity."

"Sir, are you sure?"questions Saber out of concern.

"Saber, you and I both know that my wife and I can handle ourselves. Blake it's also a skilled warrior, and that 'friend' of hers look like he can hold himself in a fight. We'll keep him in a lock room, that way he can't try anything. He will be a guest and a prisoner at the same time, at least until the next boat arrives to take him off the island."said Ghira, making Saber look at him with a look of concern but understanding.

"Understood, chieftain."said Saber, accepting his leader's decision.

"So I'm going to be on lockdown twenty four seven, huh? Well I can't exactly blame any of you since I'm a human and I have given no reason for you to trust me."said John, understanding where the faunus we're coming from as the version of Remnant he came from had humans with prejudice against the faunus.

And with a similar menagerie, so he can understand where the people were coming from. Ghira clearly knew what he was doing as he knew that putting this John Smith character anywhere else would result in immediate danger to John's safety, as many of the fanus on the island of menagerie have had bad experiences with humans, with some willing to take out their frustration on any human they meet, including ones that don't deserve it.

"Well, can you lead me to the room where I'm being locked in. I'd like to settle."said John, who wasn't uncomfortable with the situation as he could easily escape with one of his Pokemon.

None of the faunus in the room knew that he had pokeballs and his belt thanks to a hidden compartment inside said belt. But even if they did, they wouldn't have no idea how to work them and if one of them accidentally opened one of the pokeballs, John could easily command the Pokemon inside to get him out of this situation.

But he didn't want to do that as he was literally on an island with the only way to get anywhere being by boat. Ghira said that the only boat will arrive in a week, so he just need to be patient and then he would be back on course to his plan to get to Mistral to start a farm. The only problem with Blake...

She suspected he was Jaune Arc, and technically she was correct. He was Jaune Arc, just not the Jaune she knew. John had to be careful as he was sure that Blake would try something to make him admit that he was who she thought he was! He knewthat Blake could be pretty stubborn when it came to getting things she wanted, and it appears this version of Blake is the same!

John needed to be careful as he did not want to accidentally slip up that he was in fact a version of Jaune Arc. He came to this Remnant to have a peaceful life, not to be dragged into another conflict for something he didn't truly believe in. He and his pokémon have had enough of that for a lifetime.

"I'll lead him to his room. There is plenty of space here so I'm sure I can find somewhere that can be comfortable for him."said Kali, before motioning for John to follow her.

"Thank you."said John, figuring that he needed to be polite with his hosts as they were the ones that going to give him a roof over his head and food on his plate.

He suspected that each and every one of them knew how to hold their own, especially Ghira. Little do they know that he is carrying a team with some of the strongest monsters that have ever walked the Pokemon world! But they didn't need to know that. As far as they were concerned, he was just some civilian who looked a lot like an old friend of their daughter's.

So John went with Kali down the hallway, well her husband stayed behind drive another discussion with Saber with what to do with the human until the boat arrives. John knew this as he had really good hearing and suspected that Saber was trying to talk Ghira out of letting a human stay in the chieftain's house, but the chief in question was being stubborn about it.

As for Blake's mom, she showed Jaune to what appeared to be a guest room which was nothing more than a bed and a small piece of carpet.

"Sorry we don't have anything more accommodating."said Kali, who sounded sincerely apologetic.

"Don't worry, I've slept in worse places than this for more than one week."said John, remembering his time he went on missions deep into Hisui, and having to sleep on uncomfortable rocks as he looked for rare Pokemon.

But all that was behind them as he just made his way into the room and removed his Fedora and jacket..He then removed his shoes and laid down on the bed. As he was laying on the bed, John was contemplating his next move. He knew Blake would not let the idea that he was her Jaune go, so he needed some way to keep her distracted for a week until he can get on the boat and leave Menagerie for good.

He knew she was the most stubborn person he has ever met, based on the fact that she and the rest of team RWBY went on a few rogue missions back in his world. He was sure that this Blake was the same as he could tell from the look in her eye that she still believed one hundred percent that he was the Jaune she knew. But he had no plans to get involved with the version of his friends from this world, as he had his own plans to be a nobody Farmer in the middle of nowhere, leaving the rest of his life in peace!

'I just need to behave for a week and I'll be out of here! Just one week of being treated like a prisoner and I'll be free!' thought John to himself, before he decided to get some shy as it has been a long day and he was honestly tired.

After all, his nap on the plane was interrupted.

Little did he know he was being watched from a nearby window in the form of Blake and Sun.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?"questions Sun.

"He's Jaune. I happen around that face long enough to know the difference between a doppelganger and an exact look alike. I don't know why he's hiding his identity but I'm going to find out."said Blake, determined to prove that John was Jaune!

"Why?"inquired Sun.

"I just need to know why he's hiding who he says he is. He might be working for someone for all we know."said Blake, although the truth was she was wondering why Jaune was calling himself John Smith.

She ran away from her friends to keep them safe from Adam! She had her reasons!

Now she wondered what his reason was for hiding who he was!
