Chapter 3: War
-Konoha-
Danzo was frustrated as he looked at his commanders. "We lost the Hyuuga clan and the Inuzuka clan as well…"
"They are weak…we need to make sure, we have enough for the future and I want three divisions ready for the attack against Kumogakure…"
"But Danzo-sama…-
"Danzo-sama…our spy that you wanted to manipulate the Daimyō court was assassinated by Jiraiya…we also lost the other for the wife as well as the princess was freed by Jiraiya and Uzu Shinobi.
"Mobilize against them immediately, we need to get a number of Shinobi moved during the day so they can get their attack at Night…"
Danzo pulled out a map. "We mobilize our navy to target the nearest island which is Nami no Kuni and where their imports are and then we can target the nearest ports…"
"We have lost all support to have a navy Danzo-sama…"
Danzo sighed and growled. "We still have those warlords that are against the Daimyō…get them to lend us some warships immediately! We will attack Uzu no Kuni!"
The commander was Yoru Inuzuka of the Inuzuka clan. He was a tall man with the regular features of a Inuzuka member but had much hatred for the Kyuubi brat and joined to support Danzo. He had his two dogs as well. He was against his clan leader and was vying for her position. He was cruel and calculating as he hated the Kyuubi for killing his wife and daughter on October 10.
-Uzushiokage Mansion- A week Later-
Naruto was looking at the map as the commanders and admirals of the sea had told him of Danzo's failed invasion attempt. "I swear that man uses his emotions too easily…"
He sighed. "We destroyed multiple ships and we can deploy the Seventh Fleet and a couple battalions to attack immediately…"
Naruto turned to his commanders and his Four Guardians. "I want it to be clear that the targets are the Foundation only. Fortresses are the second priority and we leave the civilians alone. We need to be sure that Konoha survives and we leave as soon as a new Hokage is realized…"
-Thirteen Days later-
"Sakura, I have talked with the council and since you were trained by the famous Lady Tsunade…I am going to assign some Hospital duties to you and also the apartment has been assigned to you…"
"Naruto-Kun can I also be with you so-…I can explain the details of ideas I can have for the hospital…" She said hoping to spend some time with the blond Kage. "Naruto shook his head. "I'm sorry Sakura-chan, I have to monitor the invasion of Konoha…I am asking Ero-Sennin if there are any clans that still need to be evacuated before we invade. One of the reasons you're here is if you have any information too on Ino and the rest…I've told my forces to look for them and get them to safety…"
"I'm sorry Naruto-Kun…I don't know where Ino and the rest are. I left the village over two years ago." Naruto was surprised by that. "Why did you leave the village after your parents' death?"
"I had no other connection to the village since Danzō drafted my parents to the front line of his war…he conscripted them to be shields for his frontal assault against a Iwa Bunker fortress by their fourth battalion in the eastern borders."
Naruto could tell that wasn't the whole truth and he's been told other things but let it go. He's been focused on the siege Engines and Shinobi that were getting ready and briefed on the coming invasion. There was lots to do. The forces were over 60,000 and the commanding General in charge was Izuna Uzumaki Of East Gate. He wielded the Katana Enma and as such he was in his twenties and had a kimono under his armor along with the katana.
The forces were split into five battalions with 10,000 and platoons of 500
The Multiple chuunin platoons of around 500 would appear to the major and small villages then the major platoons of jounins and some elite ANBU agents would start going for the bigger ones that had small cities and villages.
The next target was the trade ports and then finally platoons of ANBU would target all Shinobi bunkers and fortresses. They would scout while the main attack forces would then target Otogakure.
Naruto would be the main force. It was a two pronged attack on both Otogakure with Kusagakure forces and Konohagakure.
"Are preparations complete?" He asked an ANBU as she appeared. "Yes, Naruto-sama and we have the rest of our forces all spread out to cover the patrols…" Naruto nodded and turned to Sakura-chan. "Thanks Sakura-chan and you are now formally a Uzushio Shinobi…" He went into a seal in his desk and out came a uzushio Hitai-ate for her. She saw that it was red, similar to her old one. "Thanks Naruto-Kun…"
Naruto nodded and started to put on his armor. He grabbed his blade and began to twirl it and took a deep breath. "Ok we need you to be ready at the hospital Sakura-chan, I can't put you as leader of the hospital just yet cause it would disrupt the balance in the hospital so I need you to just be ready as we will be transporting the injured here…"
Sakura nodded and Naruto left the mansion with ANBU guards that looked ready for battle.
-3 days later-
-Formerly Land of Hot Water- now Land Of Uzu No Kuni-
Naruto was in a command tent and overlooking an Earth jutsu released from a mountain tower. He was then watching the main force line up. He hated war to begin with and sighed. He needed to defeat Orochimaru and asked all of his Shinobi in the invasion to let him or the Four Guardian Swordsmen to battle Orochimaru.
He was targeting Sasuke and he hated to go to war to stop him since it would cost a lot of Shinobi. He didn't treat his Shinobi like tools as Danzo did. He looked at the map and looked at his commanders. "Ok we go with all the plans that we established and I expect all of you to work together and if the plan needs tweaking you don't need to follow it…maintain full discipline…and disclosure as well as I want any innocent people to be evaluated for spies and treated accordingly if cleared.
The commanders nodded as the swordsmen numbering just 2 were following his campaign while the remaining two would remain in Uzushiogakure.
While in most countries each hidden village is essentially different in units for different armies. Uzushiogakure was just the same. Combined with the minor satellite villages, the major villages made their Shinobi armies bigger along with their samurai armies which greatly grew to over 300,000 for each nation.
Uzu no Kuni was the largest as the world was vast and lots of refugees from multiple nations that had skilled ronin and disgraced clans that rebelled against their Shoguns or Daimyōs for being cruel against their own people. Uzu became a utopia and the Daimyō was as pure-hearted as they come. This also included former Kiri and other Shinobi joining the ranks of Uzu Shinobi leaving for a better future.
He dedicated all to trading and making sure there was lots of warriors for common folk. He executed any warriors who were dishonest and disrespectful to Dishonorable. He provided food and defense against bandits. Naruto had provided Shinobi for help on scouting and monitoring officials in the local magistrates. It kept them in line from corruption and any sign of it was with their bodies in the street. There was food and money with stable homes for the villagers across the small island territories.
Naruto stepped out of the command tent and pressed his earpiece. "Start to attack, all forces move in!"
Multiple earthquakes,earth dragons,fire balls and water dragons were heard and seen as his forces moved in.
Konoha was being invaded as Uzu crossed the Border.
Otokagure-
Orochimaru cursed under his breath. He saw multiple fireballs and water dragons along with mud and giant volleys of Kunai and giant shuriken. There was another set of explosions as some of the Kunai launchers had Kunai with explosive tags. Thousands of these weapons set the forests around otogakure ablaze.
Multiple of his Shinobi was being taken out as he used all the guerrilla tactics he could to slow the Uzu Shinobi army advance.
Konoha wasn't faring better.
Naruto knew of the majority of Shinobi outposts having taken them out. The main walls were now being assaulted. Multiple Né agents were using their tanto and katana blades to move through multiple Uzu Shinobi.
"Naruto-sama we are close though we are being repelled by the ANBU level foundation agents." Naruto knew that he already lost twenty to just one Né agent.
They were trained to take out multiple Shinobi at once. It kept going on and on but eventually as time continued. A Né Agent was killed over and over as the multiple Uzu Shinobi kept enacting a barrier and blocked their Kunai and fire jutsu and even Wind bullets then was slashed by their Allie's behind them. Squads of five took out more and more agents as they managed to block and stab more of the drones that Danzo had produced.
-Konoha- Hokage mansion with fortifications-
"Danzo-sama…the west and east gate have fallen, we are running through all Shinobi we can spare. They keep coming and since we lost over ten thousand in the navy battle and also the attack on Kumo."
Danzo gritted his teeth. "Danzo-sama, we lost the secondary defensive line to the eastern gate and they are getting ready to assault us…"
Uzu Shinobi main unit-South gate- a Day later-
"Use Every earth jutsu you got! We need to break the gate down and then we are only using Wind bullets too against any enemy Shinobi!"
'Konoha wasn't even using their protocol for invasions anymore.' Naruto thought as he was with the main force advancing. Thousands of Shinobi in red armored plating and Uzumaki swirl on their chests and helmets that look like samurai helmets called the Kuro Kabuto helmet with the Uzushiogakure symbol in the metal plate. He ordered the production of them for Chunin and Jounin. The ANBU were in robes and armor surrounding him.
Thousands of Shinobi continued to battle around him as ANBU of Konoha with blank masks and also most with Jounin and Chuunin vests charged. The Fire and Water Jutsus along with wind and earth jutsus were exchanged everywhere he looked. "Naruto-sama,the goal is Danzo right?"
"Yea we take him out then drive out anyone with a ANBU mask or with a seal and since we are placing seal detection tags everywhere we advance we can locate it with our sensory ninja and also…-"
He pulled out Shigure and slashed at a volley of Kunai and shuriken with Wind chakra. He was now just armored and with his Kage robes and hat.
This was the state of Konoha it seems. Because of the multiple taxes, shops closed or fled. Merchants and other businesses closed or not wanting to be in Konoha because of the security and military measures made the village unbearable and less safe and friendly to do business. Some of the houses were bare and falling apart it made his old apartment complex a resort. He only shook his head as he continued in. There was military posts and Kunai launcher cannons as well as actual cannons. He wondered how Danzo was supposed to run the village if there was no citizens and if he did have elite units all the time, it would only make merchants less likely to hire Konoha because it was so expensive. They only needed to be protected by bandits but if it's by Konoha then they would always be targeted by Kumo,Suna and Iwa. He even sent his Uzu Shinobi to protect the merchants. Most of the Shinobi that Danzo recruited, as mercenaries, were the type that only was interested in money. They abandoned the client which made clients rethink Konoha cause most of the clans they wanted from Konoha had fled or disappeared.
Naruto and his forces continued their advance and leaping as they got closer to the main fortresses which surrounded the Hokage Tower. The blond Uzushiokage only scoffed as it only appeared to increase more conflict, making a fortress in the middle of the village.
"They are stupid though, making that thing huge…wonder how much manpower it took to do that…?"
"Some earth jutsu probably…"The Blond answered his 3rd Swordsman of his guardians. He represented the Byakko of his four guardians. He had armor and had a kimono with tiger claws all along the legs and back. He held his blade called the Demon Blade Enma. It was a blade that had Demonic Chakra in it making it difficult to wield like a White Tiger was within, always growling. He had long red hair in a ponytail, a small goatee and was 20 years old. He had a medium build as well with slim muscles.
He had armor like a standard Jounin but it was pure white like his title as the Byakko. He had his Kabuto helmet styled with a white tiger opening his mouth.
It may have been flashy for a Shinobi but it showed off his title to a tee. They gained a reputation from the Kiri civil war battling the former Kiri no Shinobigatana member and also battling Kisame into a corner when Kisame and Itachi tried going into Uzushiogakure.
-small flashback- 3 years ago
Naruto had sensed a large chakra presence and gathered his gear as he pulled off his cloak. The village was rebuilding and he just started so the villagers were not exactly ready to defend themselves.
With Uzushiokagure not having a system of defense since he just left Konoha. He recently made a deal and escorted Tazuna for rebuilding while also making a deal with the Uzu no Kuni Daimyō. Two S rank missing-nin would be able to just walk in. They were however unexpectedly close to getting towards the gate when two figures confronted him.
-End Flashback-
Naruto yawned as he walked off a ledge and began walking towards the Hokage Fortress. He was standing then on a pole while his ANBU escorted him. There was also his two bodyguards which was his two guardians. Byakko and Seiryuu both were skilled
"Oto Shinobi have also started to appear and as expected they came on our two flanks from behind us. We held in the center and our commanders held them back as we prepared from them thanks to the Nara Clan.
The Nara Clan was one of the clans that left Konoha to the capital and since they would be going to the capital, Danzo had left them alone. The Yamanaka and Akimichi clans followed. Danzo tried to force them using his Né forces but they secured the protection of the Hi no Kuni Daimyō.
As the hours went by the Uzu forces have taken about 70% of the village. Konoha villagers even started to follow them if it meant they wouldn't be under the 5th Hokage Danzo anymore.
Danzo continued to pace and think of a way out of this. He was surrounded and the Oto,Kusa and other forces that actually supported his idea of Konoha becoming the center for the five great Shinobi nations were being wiped out.
"Naruto-sama… the Fourth and Fifth battalions have taken out most of the Kusa and Oto Shinobi that were attacking our rear…"
Uzu Shinobi's main attack plan was as it was planned. All four gates were to be assaulted but there was of course a large arc of trenches that were made in the coming from the direction of Oto and Kusa as Uzu was invading them as well with two full other divisions of over 20,000 Shinobi. Since this was the case, three siege lines of trenches in half arcs and Kunai launchers as well as cannons were placed to protect and siege the two minor villages. Large fireballs have been continuously hitting kusa and Oto was hit over and over with water and earth jutsu.
Thousands of earth spears and earthquakes along with water dragons have been killing thousands of Oto and Kusa Shinobi.
Orochimaru watched Sasuke hold back the onslaught of Shinobi that were taking out the small village. Even some ANBU were no match for him but the great Uchiha was losing chakra as he's been constantly fighting for half a day and losing stamina fast was bad enough as it was. Thousands of Shinobi were going to die at this rate and Orochimaru knew his sound four couldn't hold them off forever.
-Konoha-
"Akira, I want you to be leading the attack on Otogakure...there's Sasuke Uchiha and the sound four or five as our ANBU and a couple slaves reported. We need at least a guardian to protect our troops." Akira nodded and disappeared in a swirl of water and was moving full speed through the forest darkness.
-Outskirts of Konoha and closer to Otokagure-
Akira was now panting as he had headed out and saw a raven colored teenager similar to the age of his own Kage. There was a slight large number of oto Shinobi and samurai from the land of rice paddies trying their own move against Uzu. The multiple mercenary Shinobi that wore different armor but had armbands showing the Oto music symbol. It was to show that they were paid by oto and wouldn't be killed.
Akira nodded and a blade that can summon black lightning since the demon inside it was a lightning based demon. The blade, called Sandai Kitetsu, is a moderately curved katana with a white edge and a distinct blue hamon that has the appearance of flames. Its tsuba is golden and shaped like a rounded cross pattée; the hilt is wrapped reddish-brown, with a golden clasp around its middle and a golden kashira pommel. The sheath of the sword is deep red and continues the design of the hilt, having two golden clasps in short succession around its middle, and the kojiri end cap also being golden. He held it at the ready as he stabbed the ground and unleashed a powerful lightning shockwave that hit multiple Shinobi effectively ending their lives.
