This just for my own satisfaction. Don't judge.

hello, writer here. i made this because i was bored, i dont expect much from this but feel free to review or comment or whatever just nothing toxic

nothing here is planned out so this could go anywhere.

Azkaban, the very definition of hell on earth. The entire fortress had been carved out of the mountainous rock jutting out of the sea in the early 15th century by the famous German warlock Andräeus von Hohnzoll during the height of his empire as a fortress against Britons and Vikings alike. However, that was 500 years ago, now in July 1992 it was the most feared prison in the world. It was always pouring rain with a healthy dose of gale force winds, making it extremely grim. However, the worst part was the guards, the dementors, creatures created by none other than the afore mentioned Andräeus von Hohnzoll, he really was a massive prick. Dementors could as the name suggested make people exposed for a long time to them demented, like absolutely insane, to the point of no return. They did this by feeding on the happiest memories of the victim, slowly erasing everything happy that had ever happened to them. They also dropped the temperatures of their surroundings to sub-zero temperatures. While technically British, Azkaban housed the world's worst terrorists and criminals. From the feared British "death eaters", to "the fist of hell" from Australia, to the Canadian/American "front de la libre" (only the Canadian part was imprisoned though, since the Americans just had their part's members executed). This was where Sirius black found himself. He was falsely accused of the murder of 12 muggles and his friend Peter Pettigrew, alongside treason for supporting Voldemort. Forget that he had been the head of the Hit-Wizard corps working in close conjunction with the Aurors and was personally responsible for the capture of several inner-ring death eaters such as Antonin Dolohov and the death of Evan Rosier. Now he had realised his means of escape, his cell mate of two weeks, who was awaiting trial in Germany, happened to be extremely fortunate in his predicament, he was: One, very powerful, on par with Sirius. Two, innocent of the crimes he had been accused of. Three, not yet as affected by the dementors as he hadn't been there long. Four, the most important part, however, was that he was directly descended from Andräeus von hohnzoll, giving him direct control of the wards allowing him to allow them to apparate out of their cell to mainland Germany to lay low and plan. However, it would be two and a half weeks until their disappearance was noticed when the Deutsche Hochgericht ordered he be brought to trial and aurors found the cell empty with nothing but a piece of parchment with the words:

"Too late suckers. Also, we're both innocent ;)"

Meanwhile, Harry potter was… well he had been able to study at least, which meant he had completed his summer assignments. However, he still didn't escape the Dursleys, after last year they realised that he couldn't use magic and therefore treated him even more shit than usual, as if to compensate for the previous summer this meant he had several new cuts and bruises from Uncle Vernon. He was also worried about the news that had broken that morning, the escape of the mass murderer Sirius Black. But what interested him about this story was how aunt petunia had blanched at the news, seeming to be terrified.

"Vernon! Vernon! Look! LOOK! It's HIM!" she screamed pointing at the television.

"What is it dear? What's-" he froze as he saw a picture of the men who had escaped. The one on the right seemed to be the one capturing their total attention. The man was handsome, very much so, he must have been in his mid-30s, he had longish brown wavy hair and a short moustache and beard around his chin, his eyes were blue but looked like they had seen and done much. Well according to the report, he had he'd been convicted and sentenced to thirteen life sentences for as many counts of murder. The man was called Sirius Black.

This man was clearly dangerous, but why were his family acting so weird? Maybe they knew someone he had killed?

"Well," harry figured "there are lots of people looking for him and it's not like he's coming for me so it'll probably all blow over." Little did Harry know how much of what he'd just thought was wrong.

In the next days there would be sightings of Black in Germany of all places. Theories were flying all over the place, that it was the mafia, the eastern European gangs, extremists in the middle east, to name some of them explaining his escape into Europe. Then Black appeared in the south of Germany near Stuttgart, secretly the centre of the European magical government: FGEMS, the Federal Government of European Magical Society.

However, harry was busied with other things, several owls had arrived in a short period of time informing him of several things. The first came from Ron talking about how his dad had won the magical equivalent of the lottery and that they were going to Egypt to visit Ron's brother Bill who worked there as a curse breaker for Gringotts. Harry felt great for his friend after all the Weasleys were seemingly always poor despite Bill being a curse breaker, a highly paying profession especially with Gringotts, and Arthur working at the ministry. Harry resolved to find out more in the future. However, the second owl caught his attention, it seemed to be his Hogwarts letter with his list of books for the next year. There were several books that he needed: the monster book of monsters, standard book of spells grade three, intermediate transfiguration, arithmancy basics volumes 1 and 2 and runic configurations for beginners. He had decided to go with ancient runes and arithmancy along with care of magical creatures and decided to ignore divination after hearing Hermione talking about it, Ron had of course done the same as he didn't want to be alone in divination. However, it was the third letter that caught his attention.

It had a coat of arms that harry didn't recognise and seemed to be made of very high-quality parchment. Inside he discovered something that absolutely blew him away, it was from Gringotts and seemed to be written by someone rather annoyed at him.

Mr. Potter,

I am writing to you to inform you that should you wish to that should you wish to, you may take up heirship of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Potter and any others that should declare you eligible.

Normally, I would not write to inform you however as you have been eligible for almost two years now and have not yet presented yourself or declared that you do not wish to claim heirship, I did some research and discovered the circumstances in which you grew up and came to the conclusion that it was possible that you may be unaware of the fact that you are the last remaining descendant of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Potter.

Should this prove so be correct, then you may present yourself at Gringotts bank in Diagon alley and ask for Ripclaw, I will then be able to process you as the official heir, therefore assigning you certain benefits that will assist you in life.

May your gold flow,

Ripclaw, accountant of the Most Ancient and Noble Houses of Potter, Bones, and Longbottom.

Harry could barely believe it. He was an heir. Of a Most Ancient and Noble House nonetheless (whatever that meant). He was definitely going to act on this. Afterall, maybe there would be a way to escape this godforsaken house of hell. Surely there was some kind of family estate or something similar.

HARRY POTTER ASSAULTED IN BROAD DAYLIGHT!

By Jonathan Seymack

Today at approximately eleven thirty-five in the morning Harry Potter, the Boy-Who-Lived, 13 of Glouctershire, was attacked in broad daylight by several masked assailants in Diagon Alley, just in front of Gringotts wizarding bank. Potter, who is now in St. Mungo's in a stable condition, had just left Gringotts and was in the company of heir Neville Longbottom, 13 of Gloustershire, and Augusta Longbottom, 63 also of Gloustershire, when three men wearing death eater regalia and two men wearing regalia of some unknown group appeared and attacked the trio.

The incident was described as chaotic but short as the first round of spells were blocked by an unnaturally fast and strong shield from Mr. Longbottom. This allowed Mr. Potter to hit one of the "death eaters" with an unknown spell causing him to be knocked unconscious but be resistant to being rennervated. At this point Mrs Longbottom hit another "death eater" with an extremely strong impedimenta sending him around a dozen feet down the street where he was restrained by a member of the public. At this point the remaining three men began to use lethal spells, one of which missed and hit a goblin guard activating Gringotts' defences capturing the offender in an enchanted cage trapping and incapacitating him. Now the last "death eater" and the other attacker seemed to become desperate allowing one spell to hit young Mr potter in the arm, the offender was then hit by Mr Longbottom with a piece of stone broken off the Gringotts building by a stray spell, after that the last remaining attacker activated a portkey on himself, disappearing moments before the aurors arrived.

Mr Potter was transferred immediately to St Mungo's for treatment while the four attackers were taken into custody. It is understood that the Longbottom's were treated for shock and gave their statements to the aurors at the scene. They are believed to have been cleared of wrongdoing as any and all actions were performed declared by none other than madam Bones, head of the DMLE to be in self-defence.

The identities of the attackers have not been released by the DMLE and we will be sure to keep our readers abreast of the latest developments as they come.

"Well," harry sighed as folded the Daily Prophet away, "that wasn't what I was expected".

"It could have gone a lot worse." came the response from Neville who was sitting next to his hospital bed "I mean if I hadn't been about to show you that shield cham I've been perfecting over summer we'd have been goners,"

"Yeah, but we got three of the five and the goblins got a fourth".

"But that was almost all luck, we're members of some of the most powerful houses in magical Britain, hell magical Europe! I think we need to learn how to protect ourselves."

"I agree with you there but how do you propose we do that? I mean, no offense but that you use your dad's wand doesn't really help you" harry pointed out.

"Yeah, but you've met gran. You know what she's like." Neville responded miserably.

"Well maybe from a close ally/friend, hell family technically, she might listen. What points does she usually use to justify you using your dad's wand?"

"Well, she uses the whole 'honour their sacrifice' and 'respect their legacy' line mostly."

"I think we can work with that" harry smiled.

Harry's meeting with Ripclaw went rather well he would say. He entered Gringotts at nine thirty on the dot. And walked up and joined the queue (after all he was British, and Brits rather enjoy queuing) and waited to be called forward.

"Next!" was called out and harry walked forward and up to the teller at booth number seven.

"Erm. Hello" Harry started uncertainly to a raised eyebrow from the teller, "I would like to speak with accountant Ripclaw please."

The goblin's eyebrow raised even higher "unfortunately, accountant Ripclaw doesn't just 'see' anybody. Unless you happen to be one of his clients, which you don't appear to be" the goblin replied somewhat snootily.

"I am Harry Potter. I believe accountant Ripclaw is the accountant for the Most Ancient and Noble House of Potter. Am I wrong?" Harry replied with some newfound confidence.

At this the goblin started "you are Harry Potter? Apologies, I was unaware. Please place your finger on this block here." He said quickly, gesturing a shiny black stone on the desk. Harry placed his finger on the stone, only to yank it back at the stab of pain it caused.

"What was that?" he asked a little irritated.

"It was a blood-block, it tests your blood in case you are lying about your identity. I can now confirm you are in fact Harry Potter. It is an honour to meet you, may your enemies fall."

"Thank you. May your gold flow" Harry responded.

"I will now take you to Ripclaw's office. Please follow me." he said as he came down from his chair. He led harry through the atrium and into a lushly decorated corridor their footfalls muffled by the thick red carpet. They passed several oaken doors with different names on each one and their clients. Harry recognised several names: Abbott, Greengrass, Macmillan, Davies, Patil, Malfoy, Nott and Bulstrode among them. Then they came to Ripclaw's and Harry was suddenly filled with an unexplainable nervousness. The goblin knocked on the door and entered.

"Harry Potter to see you."

"Ah good, thank you Bogclaw." With that Bogclaw nodded and left with one more respectful nod to Harry. "Mister Potter, please take a seat we have much to discuss." As harry took a seat opposite the accountant he resumed speaking, "I assume you have decided to take up the heirship, correct?"

Harry swallowed "yes. I would like to take up the mantle of Potter Heir."

"Good. However, should you take up the Potter heirship you will immediately become the official Lord Potter as there is no current lord. We shall also test if you have any other possible heirships. Do you find this acceptable?" with a nod from Harry he continued, "then please sign this form with this quill feel free to read the form." He handed harry a form and a jet-black pen with the words 'not to be distributed outside of Gringotts' engraved on it. Harry read the form which essentially said that by signing it he was claiming the Potter heirship, therefore the Potter lordship due to lack of any active lord, and that he was bound by magic to fulfil his duties in the Wizengamot, continue the Potter line and pass its secrets on to the next generations. Harry signed the form with a flourish and noticed that the ink was red, blood red. At his questioning glance Ripclaw informed him that it was a blood quill and used his blood to confirm it was in fact him.

After this, Ripclaw took out a large, ornate ring which seemed to be made of gold and engraved with runes all around, the Potter Lordship Ring. However, what caught Harry's eye was the large fiery-red ruby in the middle. While deep red in the centre, the ruby was oddly coloured around the edges, in one corner it was more of a purple, in another blueish, in another black.

"What's with the colours at the edge?" harry asked, tearing his eyes from the ring.

"It symbolises the other Houses absorbed into House Potter, Houses Appleby, Gillespie and Burke respectively" Ripclaw responded. "Houses of equal or lower status can be absorbed into Houses of higher standing. There are several methods of this, the most common being marriage. However, it also occurs when a lord swears a particular oath to another lord, as happened with House Burke." Ripclaw continued answering Harry's next question.

"Oh, okay." Was the response. "What are the runes for? I assume they do something, right?"

"Yes, every family ring does something different. The Potter ring can enhance battle spell power and sharpen your awareness during combat as the potters were renowned for their duelling skills. It also provides the wearer with some unique spells that you automatically know by wearing the ring." Ripclaw answered easily. "If you put on the ring it should adjust to your finger and well, if it doesn't accept you, we'll know about it." He grinned toothily as if revelling in the idea.

Harry didn't answer having been a bit put off by that last statement by the goblin. He was terrified that the ring wouldn't accept him, after all he was a half-blood not a pure-blood, however he pulled on the Gryffindor inside him and slid it onto his middle finger on his right hand.

For a brief moment nothing happened, then the ring tightened around his finger and glowed with a bright white light blinding both Harry and Ripclaw. As the light faded to a low glow from the ring, Harry noticed that Ripclaw looked more than a little bit surprised and confused.

"Interesting, very interesting. I did not see that coming at all." Was all he had to say. "I will need to look further into this." He said. "However, we shall continue. Do I have your permission to conduct an ancestry test?" he asked.

"Yes, you have my permission."

"Very good. In that case, please place your finger on this parchment."

Harry did so and his name appeared at the bottom of the page alongside his nationality, British, followed by a line which split in two and then his parents' names appeared. Harry felt a surge of sadness at this reminder of his parents; however, he pulled it together and watched as his grandparents' names appeared: Euphemia and Fleamont Potter, Clarence and Emily Evans and the lines went on and on and on splitting and adding names. There were too many to memorise but names that caught Harry's eye included that his grandmother's sister was a Longbottom and that her other sister was a Greengrass, he also noted that his great grandmother was a Weasley.

But what was very interesting was that Ripclaw appeared to be extremely surprised that his family tree went all the way back to a certain Iolanthe Peverell. The Peverell family, from what he could see, were an extremely old family arriving around the same time of the roman invasion.

But the shocker was that the Peverells were on his mother's side of the family. The last Peverell married, in the late first century, a certain wizard by the name of Adawolf Thünger from Germany. The Thünger family had died out during the war with Grindelwald. However, there was one Thünger who was already in England at that point.

Harry pointed to the Thünger family line, "does this mean I can claim the Thünger family lordship too?" he asked, "or are the rules different in Germany?"

"Well on the whole the laws in Germany are roughly the same as here, however you will need to contact the german ministry of magic in order to claim lordship there. Not to worry they're very efficient over the there. Even though there are more protocols due to the standing of the house we're talking about you see, the Thünger family died out during the war with Grindelwald when their lord had led the german 'Ministerium für den Schutz des Landes' or MSL and had taken a hard-line on Grindelwald's followers handing down death sentences regularly, this led to one of the highest profile assassinations in modern history, all of the family were believed killed at the funeral of one of their friends. It seems however, that there was a survivor by the name of Lilja who had emigrated to the UK several years prior to the second muggle world war and married a Joseph Evans, they were your great-grandparents. Unfortunately, as there were several wars in the nineteen-thirties and -forties; the second muggle world war and then the war against Grindelwald three years later, the Thünger in England didn't find out about her family's fate as their deaths were covered up abroad to keep morale up. She died in childbirth with Lily's father before the news reached England." Harry remained silent as he absorbed this information. He had family, lots of it by the looks of things, and he knew parts of it already. On top of that he was part german. By being a lord of a Most Ancient and Noble House, he was already one of the most powerful men in the country, but with another at the very least Most Ancient House in Germany he could easily become as influential as Minister Fudge.

"-tter. Lord Potter, can you hear me?" harry snapped back to the present after realising that he'd drifted into thought.

"Yes. Sorry I was just… taking it in, I've never had any proper family of control over my life before." He explained.

"Don't you live with your aunt and uncle?" asked the goblin unaware of the minefield he was stepping into.

Harry's features hardened and his gaze turned icy, "Yes, unfortunately my 'Family' hate magic and regularly beat and starve me because they dislike me with all of their being" harry explained his voice cold and hard as ice. He could see Ripclaw bristle with rage at this information, furious that anyone could do that to a defenceless child, let alone one of their family and an orphan.

"If you so wish we can get someone to visit them. Untraceable of course. Or we can heal you and undo the physical damage and get you to full health" he offered. "It is a little-known fact that physical fitness increases magical reserves and allows you to cast longer."

"You know what? I don't think I'll need that visit of yours. But I will take you up on that medical treatment." Harry replied. "I assume it'll cost something though. Can I afford it?"

At this the goblin burst out laughing, laughter shook his body, and he howled in mirth, a sound that hurt Harry's ears like nails on a chalkboard. "Can you afford it?! Hahaha!... can, can he afford it?! Hahaha!" as Ripclaw slowly came back to his senses he looked slightly sheepish, "apologies Lord Potter. That was unprofessional. You do realize that the Potter vault is one of the most valuable vaults in not just Britain, but also the world, don't you?"

Harry shook his head "I thought my vault was number six-hundred-and-eighty-seven?"

Ripclaw explained that that was his trust-fund vault and contained twenty-five-thousand Galleons and was to support him until he became an adult.

"However, and this was something I meant to say, you are now technically an adult as the law states that 'in order to become a lord of a House one must be an adult over the age of seventeen years of age or more. Or one must be an heir, of which the minimum age is eleven, and there be no current Lord. Should an heir come to lordship before their OWLs they will upon taking on the mantle become an emancipated minor, this makes them officially an adult.' since you claimed heirship and there was no lord, the second part of what I just said applies here. But I digress, this means however that your vault number six-hundred-eighty-seven will be emptied ant the contents brought to the potter vault number sixty-nine the potter vault is currently valued at seventeen-million-three-hundred-sixty-one-thousand-four-hundred-twenty-nine Galleons, five Sickles and eight Knuts." Ripclaw proudly announced.

Harry's jaw dropped. Seventeen-point-three million Galleons! That was absolutely insane! The Nimbus 2000 cost three-thousand Galleons and was the equivalent of a Ferrari! He could almost buy six thousand of them!

"S-s-seventeen million?"

"Roughly"

"h-how? How come my family is so rich?"

"Well, the potters were large in the import-export business, still are, the company still functions and sends profits into your vault monthly. This is something that we can discuss at a later date. I assume you would like to visit the potter vault?" after seeing the nod from the still largely shellshocked harry, he lad them out of his office and further down the corridor where there was a much nicer cart than the usual bare minecarts waiting. They got in and Ripclaw took the steering wheel and they set of at a considerable speed heading for the depths of Gringotts where the older, nobler, richer families had their vaults. Near the end of the trip, they passed several large caverns each with a dragon in it. Harry spotted a Ukrainian Ironbelly, a Canadian Icer, and finally in his chamber, a Hungarian Horntail. Harry was awed by the creature which was looking at them with extreme hostility until it heard the god-awful sound of whatever it was that the goblins were shaking, at which the dragon cowered as far away from the sounds as possible in the small confines of the cave.

As they approached his vault, number sixty-nine, the sounds stopped, looking back panicked harry realised they must have passed through a silencing ward as the dragon still cowered in the corner and the goblins were still shaking those bloody things. It was here that harry got his umpteenth surprise of the day. At the vault next to his stood none other than Neville Longbottom.

"Nev?" harry didn't even realise he'd spoken before Neville whipped around in surprise.

"Harry! Is that you? What're you doing here?" he asked. In his surprise he didn't notice that an elderly woman, around sixty had come out of the vault and was standing next to him. Harry examined who he believed to be Neville's grandmother, who was born a potter, she was wearing a smart dress with a felty jacket. However, the most eye-catching part of her outfit was her hat which would have been perfectly normal and fashionable if not for the stuffed vulture on the top. Her face was worn and looked like it had lived through everything, her hawklike blue eyes were razor focused and looked like they would crush you if you dared oppose her. And yet, somehow, she seemed rather grandmotherly.

"Oh, yes harry this is my grandmother, Augusta Longbottom, nee potter. Gran, this is Harry Potter as you know."

"Lady Longbottom, its an hour to meet you. Both personally and as Lord of house Potter." Harry said motioning his newly acquired ring.

"Oh, charmed, Lord Potter. My grandson has told me a great deal about you and if half of it is true then I am already impressed. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with house potter after all, I myself was born a Potter."

"Lord Potter, if you could press your hand against the vault door, please. It's to register your DNA as the current Lord." Harry did so and the vault glowed in recognition. Ripclaw then proceeded to open the vault with a key before giving said key to harry. As the vault door disintegrated in front of the group, Harry's jaw once again dropped. There was so much gold in the vault that it felt as though there was a yellow filter on the world. As harry walked through, he saw swords, shields, armour, clothes made of extremely rare materials like basilisk hide, and dozens of family treasures. There were also dozens upon dozens of portraits of potter family members. And finally, in the middle of the vault, on a marble pedestal, lay the Potter family grimoire, a book filled with spells only known to the potter family, it also contained information to every potter since Hardwin potter the first who was born in the late first century.

The family grimoire was every family's pride, in this book lay what made each family different to each other. It contained hundreds if not thousands of spells each of which was unique and could be anything from a simple household spell to a spell which could cause tragedies of incredible quantity.

The potter grimoire was rumored to be one of the most powerful in the world,
