Chapter 1

Tony Stark woke up face down on the ground in a field. His suit was mangled and he had a bad cut on his forehead. He figured he must have died upon snapping himself and Thanos out of existence. He found himself alone with no one around. He stood up and felt pain which told him he was still alive. He lacked any helmet and his suit was no longer working. In the distance he spied a large ring on top of a platform with stairs. He began to walk. As he came closer the inner started to move and he spied chevrons locking into place one by one. He had no idea what he was looking at. He wasn't sure just where he was but he knew he was still alive.

As he got closer to the ring a wormhole established with a swish of blue energy that looked like a wave of water. He wasn't sure what he was looking at but it intrigued him just the same. Four figures then emerged from the water. They appeared to be military.

Tony got closer and realized they were human. He was exhausted and yelled out, "You there." He was breathing hard, "Water." he requested.

Colonel Jack O'Neill spied a man walking toward them in some kind of suit and looking worse for wear. He wondered who he was and where he came from. He cocked his head curious as to the sight.

Tony collapsed before them, "Water…Please…". His tired eyes looked upon his rescuers.

Jack handed him his canteen as all of SG-1 looked on unsure what to make of the situation or the strange man before them.

Tony drank down a few swigs and noticed the rank, "Thank you Colonel." He held the canteen up before Jack.

Jack asked, "You okay?"

"Am I alive?" he asked. Though the pain told him he must have survived the snap effect he felt off as if he was out of place.

He nodded, "You are alive."

Daniel dug out his first aid kit, "You are bleeding." He knelt down to the injured man and applied a bandage.

Sam knelt down to his other side to assist. She noticed the advanced suit, "Who are you?"

"Tony Stark." he replied. "Iron Man."

None of them of heard of him or the title.

Sam asked, "You are from Earth?"

He nodded, "I am."

She wondered, "How did you get off world?"

"Off world?" he asked confused. He wasn't sure what they were asking. He began, "Thanos…Avengers…" he looked at their confused faces. "The snap thing…" He looked at his suit and the hand that held the Infinity Stones. The stones were burnt out and his suit a mere shell.

"Thanos?" asked Daniel. He admitted, "I've never heard of him."

Tony asked his saviors, "Who are you guys?"

"I'm Dr. Daniel Jackson, this is Major Samantha Carter, That's Colonel Jack O'Neill and Teal'c of the Jaffa. We're SG-1." he told him. "Let's get you back to the infirmary." He motioned for Sam to help lift the injured man.

"I have to get back home." he insisted.

Sam assured, "We're dialing back to Earth now."

"Dial Earth? What is that thing?" he asked as the pair helped him to his feet.

"The Star Gate?" Daniel asked.

"I saw you come through it." he nodded. "Does the military have it and never told us?"

"Who is us?" Jack asked him.

"The Avengers!" he replied.

"Never heard of it." Jack told him as Teal'c dialed Earth.

"SHIELD?" he asked.

"Never heard of that either." he informed.

Tony pondered what could have happened. It suddenly came to him. "Oh god, we were wrong. The Infinity Stones don't erase, they simply move…" he gulped.

"Infinity Stones?" asked Sam.

He explained, "The power of the stones simply moved matter through space and time to another realm or reality." He then puckered in thought, "Am I on another planet?"

Daniel stated, "You are on P3X-9827."

Sam figured, "Like a Quantum Mirror."

"P3..what? I don't know what a Quantum Mirror is." Toney reported. "We were wrong. The last five years…" he then realized half the population was simply moved and were never erased by Thanos. It then struck him, "Thanos came with me to your reality."

Jack assured, "We will deal with this Thanos. Let's get you to the infirmary."

As they helped Tony up the stairs and looked upon the Star Gate before him. "Where the hell is this thing in my world?"

Sam assured, "We will figure it out, Mr. Stark." She looked worried for the man had obviously been through hell.

SGC

Tony Stark was taken to the infirmary where he met a fiery red headed doctor. She had him stripped from the suit, which was sent to Sam's lab and she started addressing his wounds and fatigue. Tony tried to asses where he was. He asked her, "Where am I, Doc?"

"You are in the infirmary." she replied. She informed, "You need to get some rest as soon as I stitch up this cut on your forehead."

"Just what base am I in?" he wanted to know.

"Cheyenne Mountain." she informed.

He stated, "Your Cheyenne Mountain is a lot different than mine."

She asked, "What do you mean?"

"I crossed over to your reality. I thought I would be dead but that's not what the stones did. Of course…everyone thinks I'm dead in my reality." he informed.

"You look like you have been through a war." she mentioned.

He agreed, "It was."

"If you feel like you need a sedative, just ask. I'll give you something." she offered. "Now, this will pinch just a bit." She took a needle and numbed the area to be stitched.

Tony sat on the exam table and wondered what his future would be in this new reality.

Briefing Room

SG-1 gathered with General Hammond for debriefing on what they found so far about the mysterious man they found off world.

Sam started, "He says his name is Tony Stark. I ran a search and found nothing on him here. He thinks he came here from another reality. Apparently, these Infinity Stones brought him here. I did find remnants of the stones in the suit he was wearing. The suit is beyond anything we have. He says he invented it and he's part of something called the 'Avenger Initiative.' He said he was called 'Iron Man' in this initiative."

Daniel stated, "If he's from another reality, then that could be something in existence there but not here."

Teal'c suggested, "We can send him home using the mirror."

"It's too dangerous." Hammond declared.

Sam added, "We couldn't even if we wanted to. Tony gave us a date that is different from ours. The mirror is linear. Whatever sent him here also sent him through time. He's about twenty years off. If we used the mirror and found his reality, it would be too soon. He would be twenty years younger there."

Jack asked, "You mean not only did this guy cross realities, he went through time as well?"

Sam nodded, "It's possible."

Daniel figured, "We can't send him home even if we could."

She agreed, "He would already be there." She then stated, "He doesn't exist here. He should be safe from cascade failure. He's brilliant. The suit is phenomenal. I would like to study it further and work with him on recreating the suit. It's a military super suit. We could use this in the field."

Hammond agreed, "We work with him to recreate that suit he was wearing."

Daniel spoke, "He talked about a being named Thanos. There is no Thanos here but there is a Thanatos in Greek mythology, the personification of death. I think in Tony's reality the name is Thanos but here it's Thanatos and same God. He thought these stone would erase someone from existence. Instead, he thinks the stones brought him here and Thanos is possibly here too."

Jack gave a sigh, "Great another alien baddie to deal with."

Teal'c suggested, "If we were to activate the mirror and use it to find TonyStark's reality then he would have the opportunity to use time to warn his younger self about Thanos and the coming war. He stated he used time travel to get the stones before Thanos could."

Jack asked, "Wouldn't that be disrupting his timeline?" He looked to Sam.

She agreed, "It would but it would be his timeline and not ours."

Daniel held up a hand, "But that mirror would have to connect with the mirror in his reality, which we have no idea where it is and it would be in the past for Tony. Let's just set him up here, work on the suit and finding this Thanos character before he becomes out problem."

Sam countered, "But our realities are so different that we may need help from his reality to neutralize Thanos. We have no idea what we are dealing with." She then added, "Of course there is a twenty year difference in time and his reality won't know what they are up against either."

Jack figured, "Maybe we can make contact with them and warn them." He looked to George.

"For now," Hammond started "we will keep the mirror in storage. Mr. Stark will work with us and we will keep an eye out for Thanos." He looked at his team, "Dismissed."

Later

Tony woke up from a nap to a plate of food before him. He dug into the meal for he was feeling much better and was rather hungry. Sam walked into his room in the infirmary with a bright smile.

"I see you are awake." she greeted him. "How you feeling?" she asked and took a seat in a nearby chair.

"Better." he informed. "Dr. Frasier told me that I'm in the year 1999."

"You are." she nodded. "You not only crossed into another reality but also traveled twenty years into the past. Even if we could send you home, you would be in the past by twenty years."

"I could use that time to warn myself about Thanos." he figured. "Just send me back home. You said you had some kind of mirror that could send me back."

"The mirror is an alien artifact and well, once it's activated just about anything can come through. It's very risky to send you back home. There is something called 'cascade failure.' Same matter cannot occupy the same space. You would die. We are keeping that option in mind. In the meantime, we would like you to stay here, work with us and help us rebuild your suit. That's an amazing piece of technology, Tony."

He asked, "And if I refuse?"

She shrugged, "Work with me on the Star Gate then."

"That big round thing?" he asked.

She nodded, "Yes."

"That's an offer." he agreed.

She asked, "Do we have deep space ships in the future in your reality?"

He shook his head, "Asgard helped."

She lit up, "Thor!"

"You have a Thor too?" he asked surprised.

She nodded eager, "One of our best friends."

He laughed, "Thor is a good guy. I bet he has the women in your reality going nuts with that long flowing hair and swinging that hammer…" he noticed the bizarre look on Sam's face. "What?"

"Our Asgard as small and gray." she informed. "They lost the ability to reproduce and started cloning. They are dying here." She asked curious, "What does your Asgard look like?"

He explained, "They all look human. Except Thor. He looks like a wrestler in a show."

"Seriously?" she gasped. "Your Asgard are human."

He nodded, "Yes."

She puckered in thought, "Maybe we can get a blood sample from your Thor and get it to our Thor. Your Asgard might be able to save our Asgard."

"But there is a twenty year time difference." he reminded her.

"Right," she agreed. "You're twenty years ahead of us. But if your Asgard are human looking then maybe they can help save our Asgard."

"So, you will dig out this mirror and send me home?" he asked hopeful.

"You can't stay there." she countered. "You would have to avoid yourself as well. Trust me, it's no fun meeting yourself."

"I can do that." he agreed.

"I'll bring this information up to General Hammond." she assured him. She patted his hand, "Eat your dinner and get some rest tonight."

"I will." he assured her. There was some hope of going back home after all but he knew it would be a different world for him regardless.
