Well, I'm not going to say much here in the initial notes, so please read the final notes.

This is the last rewrite of this story, I'll make it work if it's the last thing I do.

Chapter 1 - Prologue - The Ordinary and Mysterious Human

It's a bit early, but I've heard a serious question asked of me and I've thought about the answer carefully.

The question is: Are people equal or not?

Back in the day, the whole town loved to talk about equality. People called themselves men and women who treated each other as equals, and shouted for the city to eliminate inequality. They demanded high employment rates for women, people used cards for everyone, and they went so far to find fault in order to register names. People still evoked equality for people with disabilities, and now the public is confronted to stop using the term 'disabled'. Children were taught equally.

Is that really right? I ask myself.

Men and women have different roles if they have different abilities. Disabled people are incapable, no matter what term is used for disabled people. None of this is meaningful if nobody pays attention.

In other words, the answer is no.

People are unequal beings; there are no truly 'equal' people.

The very concept of equality is a big lie.

In 2008, even as the city was engulfed in this egalitarian fervor, I could see what many would rather ignore. The inflammatory speeches about equality were beautiful on the surface, but the reality was much more complex. Behind the rhetoric, differences persisted, untamed and intricate.

I wondered, how could anyone achieve true equality in such a complex world? It was a question that echoed in my mind, just as the lie of equality was reflected in society.

The world was full of secrets to be unraveled, deep mysteries that extended beyond the surface. Beings beyond mere humans lived among us in this world.

However, I think I'm getting a little lost in my thoughts.

"Hey, who is he?"

"I don't know, but he's quite handsome, don't you think?"

"His clothes are quite flashy."

"Is he a transfer student?"

"Although classes have only just started, it's still a bit strange, isn't it?"

I seem to have become the center of attention before I knew it. My flashy clothes may have been the cause of this, as I believe it's quite unusual for someone to be wearing what looked like an unusually colored suit.

"Tch, another fucking handsome student."

"I hope he dies."

These were the comments of the few men who were present at the time. I didn't really know what I had done to earn their ire, however, I decided to simply ignore their comments.

My goal was the great school that stood in front of me. A prestigious school in the city of Kuoh, also known as Kuoh Academy. Not long ago it was a school that only accepted women, but recently it opened its doors to men.

As I walked, my eyes caught sight of a woman who seemed to be waiting for me.

"Are you Ayanokouji Kiyotaka?"

She greeted me in a polite tone.

"Yes, it's me. I believe you must be the person responsible for guiding me, am I right?"

"Exactly. My name is Shinra Tsubaki. Please follow me, I'll take you to the student council room so that you can be oriented about your class and the lessons you'll be attending."

Apparently, the student council at this school was very serious.

Shinra Tsubaki seemed to be a determined woman, with a firm posture and a piercing gaze that denoted a keen intelligence. I nodded in agreement and followed her footsteps towards the student council room, while the constant buzz of conversation and the critical gaze of the students passing us continued to accompany me.

It was another quiet day at the prestigious Kuoh Academy, a school that used to be known for being for women only, but some time ago had opened its classes to men. A school that seemed totally normal in everyone's eyes, where you had to get decent marks in the entrance exam to be able to study there.

However, if there were any normal humans who knew that this was far from the truth, it would certainly be chaos.

The Sitri Family from Sona and the Gremory Family from Rias became the owners of the Kuoh territory because of something to do with the hierarchy and politics of the demon families. Kuoh is an area of great strategic importance for the devils.

The Gremory Family is one of the most influential and powerful devil families in the underworld, known for its prestige and noble lineage. Rias Gremory, as heir to the family, has shown great skill and leadership, earning respect and recognition among the devils. Through political alliances and battles to establish their dominance, the Gremory Family earned their place as the owners of the Kuoh territory.

On the other hand, the Sitri Family is also a powerful and respected family among the devils. Sona, known for her intelligence and strategic skills, has gained prominence as a cunning leader. Through political negotiations and alliances, the Sitri Family has also managed to establish its influence over Kuoh territory.

Both families realized that direct and continuous competition for territory would be exhausting and potentially damaging to their interests. Therefore, they decided to reach an agreement to divide the dominion over Kuoh equally. This decision was based on a balance of power and mutual respect, allowing both families to maintain their influence and prestige in the region.

As Sona and Rias have been friends since childhood, this alliance came naturally to them. This cooperative approach between the Gremory Family and the Sitri Family has also benefited the stability of Kuoh territory. By working together, they were able to maintain order and protect the area from outside threats, allowing both the devils and humans who live in Kuoh and attend the Kuoh Academy to enjoy a relatively safe environment.

However, things were getting a little strange. Recently, several Fallen Angels were spotted in Kuoh's territory, something quite alarming. The fallen angels seemed to be up to something.

There's also the fact that the whole world is recovering from the great "natural" disaster that happened three years ago.

Sona was sitting in a chair, looking at something on her computer. She was looking at the documents of a new 16-year-old student who would be starting as a new 1st grader.

As the school was practically set up by Rias's family, both she and Rias have access to information that wouldn't be possible for normal students. As she is the president of the Student Council, she was in charge of most of these matters. Most people might see it as annoying, but Sona was used to it. And as she intended to open a school in the underworld in the future, it was good for her to get some experience of her own.

However, she thought there were some strange things on this new student's documents. But it was when she looked at his grades that she really became quite confused.

"What the hell?"

Normally there's nothing strange when she looks at a new or transfer student's documents. Most of them have good grades or average grades that barely pass the test. Several of them failed as well. This student fit the type of student with average grades.

However, everything seemed too average.

Math, grammar, English and all the other school subjects... this student's score was exactly 50 points in all of them.

What are the chances of this happening?

Low. Very low.

"Kaichou," Tsubaki Shinra's voice spoke from behind the door. "The new student is already here."

Well, she had a chance to talk to him.

"Send him in."

So far, only Sona was in the Student Council Room. She left Tsubaki to wait for the new student and bring him in to talk to Sona about the classes he was going to join.

The door was opened and the first person to enter Sona's vision was Tsubaki. Tsubaki is a bespectacled young woman with long, straight black hair that goes down to her knees, with parted bangs and heterochromic eyes, with a violet left eye and a light brown right eye, and as well as wearing the Kuoh Academy girls' school uniform, she also wears blue semi-rimmed glasses with square lenses.

The second person to enter was the student who got those strange marks.

Sona began to analyze the new student's appearance.

He was wearing a rather elegant suit, which consisted of a white short-sleeved shirt that fitted his body perfectly and was covered by a red blazer, along with a blue tie. The blazer is the main part of the uniform and has an elegant, formal cut. It has a precise fit at the shoulders and waist, conveying an image of refinement and seriousness. The blazer also has three buttons on the front, which are detailed in gold.

The lower part of the uniform consists of long green pants. The pants are made of a sturdy fabric and fall smoothly over the shoes. He wears black leather dress shoes, perfectly matching the formal style of the uniform.

Looking at his face, she saw that he had golden-brown eyes, as well as a rather calm countenance, while his hands were in the pockets of his pants.

However, as she looked into his eyes, she felt a great pressure on her body, causing her to come close to falling. Fortunately, she managed to balance herself by leaning against the table next to her.

As soon as I entered the student council room, I immediately analyzed the person in front of me, the student council president.

A beautiful woman with a slender figure, short black hair and violet eyes.

She was an imposing figure, with a presence that couldn't be ignored. Her short black hair, precisely cut, framed a delicate face, and her violet eyes were piercing, almost as if they could probe the deepest secrets. Her Kuoh Academy school uniform accentuated her slender, elegant figure, giving her an air of authority.

I wasn't the only one who was analyzing here, as she was also looking at me with an analytical gaze. Our eyes met and, at that moment, she suddenly seemed to fall, as if she had tripped over something. She managed to regain her balance quickly by leaning against the table nearby.

"Kaichou, are you all right?" Shinra Tsubaki quickly went over to her and asked with eyes that seemed to express concern.

The student council president just looked at her with a strange face before answering.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just tripped."

That was curious. There was nothing in her way for her to suddenly trip over. It was almost as if she had tripped over her own foot. In fact, she seemed a little out of it when she "tripped".

"Thanks for bringing him in, Tsubaki. You can go back to your classroom, as class will be starting soon."

"Are you sure you don't want me to stay here with you?"

For some reason unknown to me, she looked at me suspiciously as she said this. What had I done to make her angry?

"Yes, you don't have to worry. Go on."

She just bowed her head in agreement and left the room, not before looking at me with some killing intent that left me confused.

"Did I do something to upset you?" I couldn't help asking that question.

"No, you don't need to worry."

Well, I really hope it's no big deal. Making an enmity before even stepping foot inside the classroom is not a good start for someone who wants to have a normal student life with lots of friends.

"Souna Shitori, President of the Student Council. You're Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, I presume?"

She introduced herself with a raised hand. I just nodded, shaking her hand in the process before greeting her.

"Yes, I'm Ayanokouji Kiyotaka. Nice to meet you, Kaichou."

From the brief analysis I've made of her, she seems to be someone very serious who strives to do a decent job as student council president. So I'll speak more formally from now on.

"Very well. Before I give you your class timetable and tell you where your class is, I have a few questions that I had when I looked at the information you filled in to be a student at this school. Do you have a problem with that?"

Well, I guess I should expect that. My information is peculiar, so to speak.

"As long as it's something I can answer, I'll do my best to answer your questions."

Souna nodded. "All right, sit down."

I did as I was asked and sat down in the chair. She sat on the other side, behind a desk with a computer.

"In your information, your parents' names are not present. It says here that your guardian is your maid?"

"Indeed. My case is a bit special, as I've never met my parents or any of my family before. My housemaid, whose name I'd like to leave anonymous, is the one looking after me at the moment. She's just a normal maid who probably had connections with my real parents."

Speaking this way will make her understand that I'm not willing to divulge very personal information, but at the same time I'm willing to be cooperative.

Souna analyzed my answer with a keen eye. It seemed that she was trying to find out something I wasn't willing to say.

"I see, I'm sorry for asking something very personal," Souna apologized. "However, if you'll allow me to ask, could you tell me why you didn't want to say your maid's name? And besides, if she had connections with your supposed parents, didn't you ever think to ask her about it?"

Still curious, I see. In that case.

"Actually, my maid and I have a special, confidential relationship. She has been a constant figure in my life for as long as I can remember, and her presence is of the utmost importance to me. However, for personal reasons and out of respect for her privacy, I have decided not to mention her name to third parties. It's a matter of mutual protection and trust, a tacit agreement between us."

I paused briefly before continuing.

"As for the connections with my alleged parents, it's a delicate matter. I don't have any clear information about my origins and I've chosen not to investigate it too much. At the moment, I'm focused on my present and creating my own path. I believe that family circumstances don't always define who we are, and I prefer to focus on building my own identity."

I looked straight into her eyes, trying to convey my sincerity to her.

However, she still looked uncomfortable. This was something I noticed throughout our conversation. For some reason, she seemed tense. Even though she tried hard not to show it, I could tell.

Could it be...?

"I understand your position and I will respect your decision. As president of the Student Council, I value students' privacy. If you need any support or have any further questions, feel free to contact me. I'm here to help."

She replied, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I thanked her for her understanding with a slight nod of my head. I knew that the question of my maid's identity could raise some unnecessary suspicions, so I chose my words carefully in order to avoid any future suspicions.

I didn't plan to keep my maid's identity hidden forever. However, it's best to keep things as they are for the moment. It's essential.

"Let me ask you one last question, feel free to answer or not. There's no record of your old school before you came to this one, could you explain it to me?"

Yes, that's another problem. I expected her to ask that question too.

"It's true that there are no records of my old school, and I understand how unusual that might seem. However, my lack of previous school records is not the result of neglect or lack of education. In fact, my complicated family situation and the circumstances in which I grew up prevented me from attending a conventional school previously."

I adjusted my posture, remaining calm and confident to lend credibility.

"This forced me to seek education in an alternative environment, with private tutors and personalized study programs. Although I acquired academic knowledge and skills, unfortunately, there are no formal records of these educational experiences. Because of this, I can tell you that my academic skills are quite normal, I would consider myself average."

I couldn't help but notice the strange movement of her eyebrows when I mentioned that I considered myself average. However, a short while later, Souna nodded, seemingly satisfied with my explanation.

"I understand your situation and appreciate your honesty. I firmly believe that all students deserve a chance to demonstrate their potential, regardless of their previous circumstances. If there is any form of additional support I can offer, such as help with your studies, please don't hesitate to let me know."

"I appreciate your understanding. I'll do my best not to cause any problems."

"Good. Now, as for your timetable, allow me to check..."

She typed some information into the computer and printed out a copy of my timetable. She passed the paper to me.

"Here's your timetable, your class is at the top. Please take a look and familiarize yourself with it. You can also pick up your standard uniform from the school office. If you have any questions or need further guidance, please don't hesitate to contact me. Good luck in your lessons."

I took the timetable and thanked her.

"Thanks, Kaichou. I'll make sure I'm prepared for my first day of class."

Apparently, it was a good idea to be a little more formal in a conversation with her. It was a fairly civilized conversation, but something still seemed to be bothering her. She was being rather cautious and perhaps even suspicious.

Looks like I'll have to be more careful from now on.

I left the student council room and picked up my uniform from the school office. This would be my first day at Kuoh Academy, and I was also determined to make some normal friends.

...

...

...

As soon as Ayanokouji Kiyotaka left the student council room, Sona gasped heavily as she looked quite relieved. From the moment she looked into his eyes, as well as throughout her conversation with him, she had felt a great pressure on her body.

She didn't know what the hell it was, but it was as if she was forced to lower her head in front of him. This only served to make her confused and wary of that student. However, he seemed to be quite normal.

And she also seemed to be the only one to feel this way, as Tsubaki acted normally in front of him.

After calming down, she took a deep breath of relief.

She ended up not asking him about his test scores, which were 50 points in all school subjects. After talking to him and hearing a bit about his story, she decided not to ask. He apparently already had too many personal problems to deal with.

Besides, even if she was president of the Student Council, it would still be a bit strange for her to know personal information like a particular student's grades, wouldn't it? So not asking seemed like the right choice.

"Well, coincidences can be strange, I guess."

She also made a mental note to keep an eye on him and observe his behavior at school.

I was on my way to my classroom as I pondered some things from the conversation I'd had with Souna Shitori.

I knew that my personal circumstances were complicated and that this could raise some suspicions. The lack of a previous school record and the fact that my maid was my guardian might seem strange in other people's eyes. However, I chose not to reveal everything, at least for the time being.

However, my main objective was clear. I didn't come to this school just to study, although having the life of an ordinary student is something I want.

I thought that only the school board had my documents, but for the student council president to have possession of them meant that the student council of this school had a lot of power. Well, I guess that makes sense given her nature.

I don't know if she also had the information about my grades from the exam I took to be accepted as a student at this school, because she ended up not mentioning it, although if she really did have that information, the fact that she didn't mention it was thanks to me.

The way I talked about my life must have left her confused and in doubt, perhaps even suspicious. But that's understandable; my story is complex, and I don't intend to reveal it to just anyone. Maintaining my privacy is a priority, and for now, that seems to be enough.

...

As I approached my classroom, I could hear voices.

My heart started racing. I was nervous, it was impossible not to be. This was the first time I was going to a school, so being nervous was normal, right?

Right, this is the moment to take a deep breath. If I do as she told me to do while practicing, I should be fine. Or else I'll end up messing everything up.

It's been a few months since classes started, which means that all the students should already have their circle of friends. If I end up messing everything up in my presentation, I could be completely alone for the years I attend this school.

Damn, I really should have prepared better.

"Well, whatever."

I stopped and took a deep breath.

Okay, let's go.

I knocked on the door and waited.

The door was soon opened and I witnessed the sight of a beautiful woman dressed in a suit. Her long hair was tied up in a ponytail.

"Are you the new student?" The woman asked me in an authoritative voice.

"Yes, I am. Ayanokouji Kiyotaka."

I introduced myself.

"My name is Chabashira Sae. I'm the teacher of this first grade class. Come in."

I did as requested and entered. As I entered the classroom, I noticed a murmur of conversation that quickly ceased as soon as most of the students realized my presence. Apparently, my flashy outfit was still attracting curious glances and silent comments. Although I had picked up my school uniform, it didn't mean that I was obliged to wear it on the first day of school. I could wear it tomorrow.

"I hope you're not a pervert."

"God hear you, the perverted trio is enough."

Whispers like that were easy to hear in this silence.

Excuse me, I'm not a pervert. Besides, what's with this "perverted trio"? Are there really people who have been called that?

"All right, class. This is the new student who will be studying with you from now on." She turned to me. "Introduce yourself to the class."

I took a deep breath. I really should have mustered more energy to introduce myself. I didn't want to make any flashy introductions, but I also didn't want to be forgotten as soon as I said my name.

All right, remember the sections I did with her and I should be fine.

I stepped forward, my voice calm and quiet.

"My name is Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, I've just transferred to this school. It's a pleasure to meet you. I don't have anything private to share, but I'm looking forward to studying with you all."

Yes, I managed to introduce myself without stuttering. I consider that a great victory, something I could be proud of. However, why is the class quiet?

"..."

...

I blew it, didn't I?

How? I mean, I kept my tone simple and objective. There was no reason and nothing interesting to reveal about me, as I'm an ordinary student with no specialties. My approach was kept within the bounds of politeness and social conventions, wasn't it?

"Very well," Chabashira-sensei's voice spoke. "Does anyone have any questions for Ayanokouji? If not, I'll continue the lesson."

Was she trying to help me? I didn't know, but surprisingly, a few people raised their hands.

"Forgive my sincerity, but you're not some kind of pervert, are you?"

The room was silent as all eyes turned to me. This direct question took me by surprise. I certainly hadn't expected to receive such a question. Do I really look like some kind of pervert? Well, I also have to take into account that this was a women-only school, so it's probably normal for them to feel uncomfortable around men.

In fact, I've only just realized it. There aren't any men apart from me in this classroom. Were there really so few male students that none entered first grade in this class? What kind of bad luck is that?

I took a deep breath and, with an impassive expression, replied calmly: "No, I'm not a pervert. Just an ordinary student who wants to learn."

My calm and direct answer seemed to dispel some of the discomfort in the room. The unusual question was still in the air, but now the class seemed to understand that I wouldn't create any strange situations.

"Right, so which school did you go to before you transferred to Kuoh?" Another student asked with her hand raised.

"Actually, this is the first school I'll be attending. I've always studied at home, so this is a new experience for me. Because of that, I'll be in your care, I guess."

"Oh!"

"That's amazing, you've never been to a school before, but you were able to get into Kuoh!"

Apparently, what was left of the silent discomfort is gone. They seem to look at me in a better light after discovering this.

"Right, all right, that's enough." Chabashira-sensei's voice silenced the noisy students. "Ayanokouji, you can sit on any empty seat you find. Hurry up, I still want to finish the subject I started teaching before the break."

Obeying, I began to move around in search of a place to sit. This was the moment when I paid the most attention to the girls in the classroom. However, there was one in particular who caught my eye, after all, she had been staring at me strangely ever since I entered the classroom.

A very small girl, so small that I wondered if she was really a student in this class. She had white hair and beautiful golden eyes. The front of her hair has two long bangs going past her shoulders and several loose bangs hanging over her forehead, while the back has a short cut. She also wears a black cat-shaped hair clip on both sides of her hair.

She was strangely staring at me. I realized that one of the seats next to her was empty and went to sit down. As soon as I sat down, I greeted my seatmate.

"Nice to meet you."

The girl didn't speak at first. She just kept looking at me, as if she was trying to figure out something about me. My eyes met hers, revealing a mixture of curiosity and something deeper. There was an intensity in her gaze that intrigued me.

After a few moments of awkward silence, she finally spoke up.

"Have you really never been to a school before?"

Her voice was soft, but carried a note of suspicion. I answered honestly, without being bothered by the direct question.

"Yes, this is my first time in a school."

She seemed to consider my answer for a moment and then muttered to herself.

"That's... interesting..."

I couldn't tell if she meant it in the sense of actually finding me interesting or if it was some kind of insult.

"Could you tell me your name?"

"Ah... Toujou Koneko."

She didn't seem like someone who talked much. She also seemed to be quite closed off, her face showing no emotion, unlike the other girls in this classroom.

As the class went on, I did my best to concentrate on the material and follow what was being taught. It was strange being in a classroom with other people, but I was determined to adapt as quickly as possible.

At the end of the first class, the students started to get ready for the break. I didn't have much experience in socializing, but I realized that the break was an opportunity to make some contacts and try to fit in.

I got up and was getting ready to leave when a crazy idea popped into my head. I looked at Toujou and thought for a moment.

"Tell me, Toujou, would you like to accompany me to the cafeteria?"

The offer was out of my mouth before I really realized what I was doing. After all, what kind of student would I be if I didn't try to make friends here? And, to be honest, I was genuinely curious about her. There was something intriguing about this white-haired, golden-eyed girl that I just couldn't ignore.

For some reason, a few girls who hadn't yet left the classroom stared at me with surprised eyes. All the eyes on me made me a little nervous.

Toujou Koneko, as she introduced herself. I didn't know anything about her, as this was my first day at school, but this lack of knowledge was exactly what made me want to get to know her better. The same would be true of the possible future friends I would make.

She, however, kept looking at me with that impassive expression, as if she was considering my offer carefully. For someone who had barely exchanged more than a few words with me, I was throwing a considerable offer in her direction. After all, first impressions were key.

For a brief moment, I felt that my offer might have been a mistake. She seemed like the kind of person who liked to be alone. Perhaps it was more comfortable for her that way. Well, who was I to invade someone's space like that?

So she finally responded with a simple nod. An almost imperceptible gesture, but it was enough for me to realize that she had accepted my offer. Although she didn't utter a single word, her gesture communicated a lot. At least she seemed willing to give me a chance.

I felt a slight sense of relief and a touch of excitement as we walked out of the classroom together towards the cafeteria. The silence between us wasn't uncomfortable. It was almost comforting, as it gave me time to ponder how to interact with this mysterious classmate.

As we walked, I noticed that she kept a firm and determined pace. Her eyes didn't stray from the path ahead of us, as if she was completely focused on her destination.

When we reached the cafeteria, the buzz of the students was almost deafening. It was a bustle of lunches, conversations and laughter. It was a scene I had never experienced before. And Toujou, next to me, didn't seem to mind any of it. She was like an island of calm in the middle of a storm of students.

Normally, I would bring the food my maid had prepared, but as this was my first day at school, I wanted to try the cafeteria food.

With a choice of tray and a tray in hand, I chose a seat for the two of us at an empty table. Toujou followed my lead without a word, and I began to wonder how we could start a conversation. I had a few questions, but I didn't want to seem too intrusive or curious.

Fortunately, it was she who ended up breaking the silence.

"... What's it like?"

"Huh?"

"I mean... how different is the experience you're witnessing at school compared to when you were studying at home on your own?"

"...Well, it's certainly different. I'm not used to places like this."

"I see."

The silence between us filled the air.

I could still hear the loud conversation between the students.

"Hey... who is he?"

"He's sitting next to our school's popular mascot."

"But isn't she someone who prefers to be alone or in the Occult Research Club?"

What do they mean by the school mascot? Is she some kind of club mascot? Maybe this Occult Research Club. Well, although I'm a bit curious now, it's none of my business.

"Fufufu, what have we here?" A seductive voice caught my attention.

It didn't take long for my eyes to notice who was responsible for the seductive voice. In front of me stood a beautiful young woman with a voluptuous figure, very long black hair and violet eyes. Her hair was tied up in a long ponytail, down to her legs with two strands coming out of the top and tilted back, with an orange ribbon holding it in place.

"Akeno-senpai," Toujou's voice spoke in recognition.

Apparently, they knew each other.

"Hello, Koneko-chan," the woman replied with a smile before turning to me. "Hello, Kouhai, I'm Akeno Himejima, from third year. It's nice to meet you. Feel free to call me Akeno or Onee-sama if you prefer."

As soon as she appeared, several students started shouting. Apparently, she was quite popular at school. This was a bit of a bad thing, as practically everyone in the cafeteria was looking this way. I could swear I heard the voices of some boys cursing at me non-stop.

What's wrong with the boys at this school, anyway?

"Nice to meet you, Senpai. My name is Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, Toujou's classmate."

Although I noticed that Koneko was popular with the people here, I was still able to eat with her without so many people noticing me. But as soon as this woman arrived, everything changed. I'm feeling like some kind of celebrity walking down the street. The difference is that, instead of asking to take a picture with me, most people are telling me to go to hell. I don't need to tell you which part of the population is responsible for this.

"Ara-ara, Koneko's colleague, huh."

For some reason, this woman gives me the creeps.

"I wonder," she brought her face closer to mine, "you're not trying to hit on her, are you? If that's the case, you'd need the permission of all the members of the Occult Research Club if you wanted to date her."

She said this as a whisper in my ear, and soon afterwards, the noise from the students grew louder.

"Huh?"

What the hell?

"Ara, no reaction?" She sounded disappointed.

"Akeno-senpai, stop it."

Toujou's voice came out louder than every time she had spoken to me. Her face was a little red. This was the first time I had seen a different expression on her face.

"Fufufu, I'm sorry, Koneko-chan. It's extremely rare to see you with someone who isn't from the club, especially a boy. Don't blame me for wanting to tease them a bit."

She's the type who likes teasing, then. A truly problematic woman. Joke or not, I'd better explain this misunderstanding out loud to avoid any rumors in the future. I've only just met Toujou, I don't even know if we're friends at the moment, but losing this "possible" friendship because of rumors is the last thing I want.

"You don't have to worry, Akeno-senpai. I'm a new student. Toujou decided to take pity on my poor soul and escorted me to the cafeteria to eat, that's all."

"Ah, I see, I see. No problem, Kouhai. I guess I overdid it a bit. Anyway, if you've met Koneko-chan, you couldn't have made a better choice. She's one of the best girls here in Kuoh. She'll be a great friend of yours, that is, if you're not a pervert, fufufu."

Akeno-senpai spoke with a mischievous expression, but Toujou remained impassive, the shame from before gone and her face once again showing no expression whatsoever.

"However, I must say, you're quite impressive, Kouhai. If it had been any other boy at that moment, they would have fainted with shame or joy, but your expression hasn't changed one bit. Sounds like a good challenge for me, fufufuh."

"I'll take that as a compliment, but please don't make any kind of problematic move."

She laughed softly.

"Of course, Kouhai. And if you need any guidance or have any questions, don't hesitate to come to me. Now, I'll let you two get on with lunch. Enjoy yourselves."

Akeno-senpai walked away with a nod and got lost in the crowd. For a brief moment, the conversations about us died down, but soon returned to normal.

I'd like to keep as much distance as possible from that troublesome woman. Something tells me she'll come back to haunt me.

"Sorry about that," unexpectedly, Toujou's voice spoke, catching my attention. "Akeno-senpai is like that, she likes to tease others."

"Well, I hope that was the first and last time she does that to me."

"... I can't guarantee that."

Ah, how wonderful.

Occult Research Club.

The room of the Occult Research Club, frequented by the Peerage of Rias Gremory, is an exuberant and elegant space, designed with a sophisticated touch and distinctive elements that reflect the style and status of its occupants.

The walls are covered with wallpaper in shades of dark red and gold, decorated with intricate patterns and embossed details that evoke a sense of opulence and refinement. Soft lighting from crystal chandeliers on the ceiling creates a warm and welcoming aura.

In the center of the room is a long, imposing table made of carefully carved noble wood. Its polished surface reflects the light and reveals the natural glow of the wood. Scattered on the table are ancient scrolls, leather-bound books and mysterious artifacts, all carefully organized. These items are evidence of the rich history and knowledge accumulated by the club's members to maintain the façade of a serious club.

Around the room, dark wooden shelves stretch from floor to ceiling, crammed with dusty books, scrolls and vials containing magical substances. The books are arranged on meticulously organized shelves, following a specific thematic order, and their titles range from occult and mystical subjects to treatises on alchemy and sorcery.

In the corner of the room, there is a cozy little seating area made up of armchairs upholstered in red velvet, adorned with soft, elegant cushions. A carved wooden coffee table stands within reach, filled with fine and delicate teacups, inviting club members to enjoy moments of relaxation and intellectual discussions.

A notable feature of the room is the presence of a large stained glass window that takes up an entire wall. The stained glass depicts mystical and mythological scenes, with angelic figures, demons, magical beings and enigmatic symbols, all in a profusion of vibrant colors that come to life when sunlight shines through them.

In the opposite corner of the room is a small altar decorated with scented candles and incense. This sacred space is used for occult rituals and magical practices, adding an air of mystery and spirituality to the room.

As a final touch, heavy, rich curtains in luxurious fabrics adorn the windows, giving the place privacy and an aura of exclusivity. These curtains can be closed to create a more intimate atmosphere, protected from the outside world.

The Occult Research Club room is undoubtedly a unique and captivating space, designed to stimulate the mind and provide a haven for Rias Gremory's Peerage to serve as a façade, and she has gone the extra mile to make it as convincing as possible. It's an environment that combines elegance, knowledge and an aura of mystery, making it the perfect place to conduct studies and discussions on the supernatural.

Rias, Akeno and Kiba were present in the club room. Only one person was missing.

"Do any of you know where Koneko is?" Rias asked.

Akeno smiled as he adjusted the crystal chandelier above the table, a gesture that perfectly matched the sophisticated atmosphere of the room.

"Uh, I guess she's still enjoying her lunch with her new classmate," Akeno replied with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I saw the two of them eating together in the cafeteria."

Rias and Kiba exchanged complicit glances, sharing a discreet smile.

"Oh really?" Rias asked curiously, hiding a smile.

Kiba, while organizing some scrolls on a nearby shelf, joked with a tone of interest.

"That's fast progress. She's usually so reserved and doesn't get close to anyone."

Akeno nodded, still smiling mischievously. "Maybe our new friend has a special gift for winning her trust."

"Not bad, I'd say," Rias commented with admiration.

Koneko was one of the most mysterious and introverted schoolgirls at Kuoh Academy in the view of all the other students, and seeing her share a lunch with someone was undoubtedly a remarkable development.

"Well, what was this new classmate Akeno like?" Rias asked in a curious tone.

"Oh, let's see. He's someone quite interesting, as he was able to resist my provocation without changing the expression on his face. I'd say he and Koneko are quite similar in that respect."

"Uh, I see. He could be someone quite interesting to have around," Rias commented in a mysterious tone.

However, in the middle of this intriguing conversation about Koneko and lunch with her new classmate, the door to the Occult Research Club room quietly opened. In walked Koneko, with her typical impassive expression, as if nothing had happened. She closed the door carefully behind her and approached the other members.

"Hello, Koneko. How was lunch?" Rias asked with a subtle smile.

Koneko shrugged as if it were something trivial. "It was fine."

Akeno, Kiba and Rias exchanged meaningful glances, aware that the situation was much more interesting than Koneko's brief reply suggested. However, they didn't press her with any more questions, knowing that the girl valued her privacy.

Koneko took one of the seats at the table and, without making any additional comments about lunch, she quickly took out some sweets and started eating.

The school day was almost over, but there were some things that wouldn't change.

"Get back here, you damn perverts!"

"You won't get away!"

"Get them!"

"Better get ready for when we catch you, four eyes!"

Several girls shouted as they ran after the boys who had been caught spying in the girls' changing room. Again. The boys ran as fast as they could while talking amongst themselves.

It was the perverted trio, Issei, Motohama and Matsuda.

"What's wrong with wanting to see some breasts!" Issei shouted at them.

"Yeah, what's wrong with that!" His two friends agreed with them, shouting.

Well, after what Motohama had said in class, you'd think he'd at least want to stay away from the girls, at least for today, after what he'd said in class. However, he simply ignored it and went to spy again with Issei and Matsuda.

The girls, in response, became angrier than before and ran faster, scaring the boys as they did their best to increase their speed. They had Bokken in their hands as they ran after them, making it clear that when they caught them, they would suffer greatly.

"What's wrong with these crazy girls!" Motohama shouted.

"If they catch us, we're toast!" Matsuda shouted.

"Just shut up and run!" Issei yelled at them.

While running away from the furious girls, Issei ended up bumping into a tree. By then, the girls were already nearby, and his two friends did the most sensible thing they could think of at that moment.

They ran and left Issei as a sacrifice.

"Hey, come back here! What kind of fucking friends are you, huh!" Issei shouted, but suddenly froze when he heard footsteps at his back.

Turning his head slowly like a robot, he came across Murayama, Katase and several girls with scary faces and their Bokkens in hand.

"You're the only one left, huh. Honestly, we really wanted to beat up four-eyes for what he said in the classroom, but they ran off and left you behind, so you're the one who's going to take the beating from the two of them on top of your own."

Issei raised both arms and, almost as if he were begging, he made a futile request.

"Mercy?"

The girls just smiled sinisterly in response, as they raised their Bokken and nodded. There was no escape, any apology or request was useless. At that moment, Issei knew he was fucked.

"Get him, girls!"

They then began to beat Issei unilaterally, who screamed in pain as he was beaten by the girls. After about 10 minutes of beating him non-stop, they got tired and left, warning him that if they caught him again, they would do something worse. Especially in Motohama when they caught him.

Issei was lying on the grass while looking up at the sky.

"Honestly, what's wrong with me wanting to see some breasts?" Issei said aloud.

"Normally, it wouldn't be a problem, if it was with your girlfriend instead of spying on other random people," he heard a monotone voice say.

Forcing his head to look behind him, he saw a young man with golden eyes and brown hair like his own. But, in Issei's opinion, his hair style was much cooler. He didn't know his name, but he knew who that student was.

"Eh, easy for you to say," Issei grumbled as he stood up. "You have the attention of the school mascot, as well as Akeno-senpai."

The boy in question was confused.

"Huh? You mean Toujou? Well, I'm a new student and her classmate, so she took pity on my poor soul and agreed to eat with me in the cafeteria."

Issei looked at the young man with a mixture of surprise and curiosity.

"New student, classmate of Toujou Koneko and Koneko herself had lunch with you? Apart from the fact that Akeno-senpai paid attention to you. Eh, you're certainly lucky, my friend," Issei commented, finally recovering from the girls' attack.

"I guess I really was lucky. Toujou is an interesting person to talk to. My name is Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, first year student, I believe you must be one of the boys who are called the 'perverted trio', am I right?" Ayanokouji introduced himself and raised his hand to him.

Issei frowned. Yes, he was one of the three perverts, their leader in fact. Was this new student trying to annoy him? His face was devoid of any emotion, so Issei couldn't read anything he might be thinking.

He was also handsome, something Issei doesn't like, because he hates handsome boys, after all they steal all the girls. But this one in particular didn't look anything like Kiba.

Rather reluctantly, Issei nodded, shaking Ayanokouji's hand. "Yes, I'm Hyoudou Issei. And two shitty elite runners who left poor Issei here to fend for himself are my best friends."

"Best friends?"

"Yeah, I have great friends, right?"

You didn't have to strain to notice the sarcasm.

"..."

Ayanokouji didn't say anything, and Issei took advantage of the silence and asked.

"But seriously, tell me, how did you get the attention of the school mascot, Koneko-chan? She didn't talk to anyone before."

"I told you, she just took pity on my poor soul and agreed to eat with me in the cafeteria. She was the first person I spoke to, so I was lucky, I guess. But why do they call her the school mascot?"

"Man, she's very popular with the male population. Especially those who like girls who look like Lolis. There are also the school's three great Oneesamas. Akeno Himejima-senpai who you've already met, Rias Gremory-senpai and Kaichou herself, Souna Shitori. Any man to talk to and date any of them."

"Well, I only met Akeno Himejima because she and Koneko are acquaintances, apparently they're both from the same club. She just came to tease me."

"Wait, really?" This was new information for Issei.

"Apparently, as I said. But, I assume you must have met the president of the student council many times."

"Well... yes, but in the way I'd like," Issei sighed.

"Well, don't worry, maybe one day you'll be lucky enough to have a more pleasant chat with her. She doesn't seem so bad. But back to Toujou, she's rather quiet, a bit mysterious I'd say, I'm surprised I manage to talk to her myself. "

"Well, I can agree with you a little," Issei nodded, reflecting on Koneko's mysterious personality. "Even though I haven't had the privilege of being able to talk to her, just by observing her, I can sense something. Something that isn't immediately visible."

"Huh," Ayanokouji seemed to think deeply about this for a moment. "Interesting. It could be an interesting research topic."

"Sorry, research?" Issei was a little perplexed.

Ayanokouji looked at Issei with a curious look. "Well, I'm new here, and I'm always trying to understand people better so that I can make friends. Don't you find the complexity of human relationships fascinating? Sometimes what we see on the surface is just the tip of the iceberg."

Issei wasn't sure if he was dealing with an extremely intelligent young man or just someone with social quirks. "Yes, I think you're right."

For some reason, Issei felt that Ayanokouji wanted to say something more with what he said. It was like some kind of hint, although he didn't think much of it.

The conversation was interrupted when Issei's two friends finally returned.

Issei looked at them with a mocking smile. "Well, let's see what we have here. My comrades who ran off and left me a sacrifice."

Motohama replied angrily. "Don't blame me! We had to run to save our own asses, and they were fucking fast!"

Matsuda agreed. "Yeah, man. It was your fault for tripping, every man for himself."

"Every fucking man for himself, you pieces of shit!"

"Calm down! Are you going to tell me it wasn't worth spying on them?"

"That's beside the point!"

The small, apparently friendly brawl went on for some time, while Ayanokouji watched, still with his dull expression.

At the end of it all, he introduced himself to Issei's other two friends who were looking at him ugly, muttering some things about pretty boys, and after that, he said goodbye.

Strangely, Issei felt at ease when he was talking to the new student.

The first day of school is over.

The Ayanokouji house is an imposing residence that stands out from the rest for its discreet elegance and refined architectural lines. Located in a quiet neighborhood, the house conveys a sense of privacy and serenity, offering its occupant a warm and comfortable refuge.

As you approach the house, you can see the care taken with the landscaping. The front garden is meticulously maintained, with a lush, well-trimmed lawn surrounded by a variety of colorful flowers that bloom in a harmonious palette of colors throughout the seasons. A stone path leads visitors to the main entrance, surrounded by well-kept shrubs and ornamental bushes.

The façade of the house is marked by a combination of high-quality materials. The main structure is clad in beige-colored bricks, carefully arranged in a symmetrical pattern, giving it a classic and timeless appearance. Large windows with dark wood frames, in perfect harmony with the color of the bricks, let in generous amounts of natural light and offer a subtle view of the interior.

However, it is inside the house that the true beauty and sophistication are revealed. Stepping through the front door, visitors are greeted by a spacious, well-lit entrance hall. The floor is covered in beautiful white marble, polished to perfection, which gently reflects the light. On the walls, carefully selected works of art add a touch of refinement and personality to the ambience.

To the right of the entrance hall, a large living room invites you to socialize. The furniture is elegant and comfortable, with upholstery in neutral tones that harmonize with the color palette of the room. An imposing stone fireplace dominates one of the walls, bringing a feeling of warmth and coziness on colder days.

The house also has a spacious and well-lit dining room, where a solid wood table and upholstered chairs comfortably seat guests. A pendant crystal chandelier over the table adds a touch of elegance to the space. The walls are adorned with mirrors and a subtle wallpaper with a discreet pattern that complements the decor.

The kitchen, located next to the dining room, is a functional and modern space. Light wood cabinets provide ample storage space, while black granite worktops offer a sturdy and sophisticated surface for preparing meals. Stainless steel appliances and a central island complete the picture, ensuring that the space is both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

Upstairs is a spacious master suite. The room is decorated with soft tones and high-quality furniture. A king-size bed, covered in luxurious linens, is the focal point of the room, while upholstered armchairs and an elegant desk make up a cozy sitting area. The adjoining bathroom is a veritable sanctuary, with a whirlpool bath, spacious shower and marble finishes.

The other rooms in the house are equally well-designed and carefully decorated, such as additional guest rooms, an office, a library and an entertainment room equipped with the latest technology.

Where we should focus, however, is the kitchen, where a silver-haired maid was finishing cooking the food.

Grayfia Lucifuge, Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's personal maid.

Grayfia is a beautiful young woman who looks to be in her early twenties with silver hair down her back that has a long braid on each side with small blue bows at the ends, while the rest is loose and ends in twin braids and red eyes.

Around her neck was what looked like a necklace. The necklace's design was sophisticated and detailed.

The metal of the necklace was a unique shade of silver, radiating a subtle aura of freshness and serenity. Its surface was polished to perfection, reflecting the rays of light in a soft and mysterious way. Around Grayfia's neck, the necklace fit elegantly, highlighting her natural beauty and emphasizing the importance of that piece in her life.

After all, this necklace was given to her by her master himself.

The pendant on the necklace is a representation of the Queen's chess piece. The Queen's figure was sculpted in exquisite detail, capturing her majesty and strength. Her graceful, slender body was adorned with intricate patterns, which seemed to move gently in the light. The material of the pendant appears to be a translucent blue crystal, which radiates a faint luminescence, giving the sensation of being immersed in the depths of the ocean.

In the center of the pendant is a stylized figure. The image is masterfully sculpted, perfectly depicting whatever it was. The sinuous curves of her body are perfectly reproduced, while the water that surrounds her seems to come to life, flowing gently around her.

"Hm, it's good," she murmured confidently when the food was finally ready.

She quickly set the table, placing two plates. One for her and one for her master.

Speaking of her master, she's still confused about why they moved to Kuoh two months ago. They were lucky not to encounter anything unusual during those two months, but Grayfia knew it wouldn't stay that way for long.

Well, today was her master's first day at school. Even though he was studying at the same school where she can feel their presence from miles away, it was still his first time studying at a school. That was a good reason for special food.

While she was thinking, she heard the sound of the door being opened. It wasn't long before she saw her master entering the kitchen.

"I'm home, Grayfia," he said as he loosened his uniform tie.

"Welcome, Kiyotaka-sama. Dinner is ready," she greeted him, bowing.

Seeing the plates already on the table, he nodded and sat down in the chair. He pushed back his chair and settled at the table, his golden brown eyes fixed on the delicious meal Grayfia had prepared. She served him with a mastery that showed years of practice and skill, sliding plates and cutlery with the elegance of a dancer.

"Grayfia, you seem to have outdone yourself today," he complimented, a touch of appreciation in his monotone voice. "However, I must ask, is there a special reason for these dishes?"

Not that he was complaining, far from it, but Grayfia only makes food of this class on some special date or day.

"Well, today was your first day at school."

"I don't think something like that would be considered so special."

"It's your first time at school, Kiyotaka-sama."

"Even though I told you that, don't you think I lied?"

"You lied?" Grayfia asked curiously.

"...Well, no, but-"

"Then it's okay."

Ayanokouji sighed. This was a pointless exchange of words, so he let it go.

"All right, let's eat."

Grayfia smiled slightly. She approached the table and took her seat, remaining elegant and graceful in every movement.

The two of them began to eat at their own pace when Grayfia asked a question.

"How was your first day at school, Kiyotaka-sama? I hope you didn't mess it up in your presentation."

Ayanokouji, while savoring the delicious meal, pondered for a moment before answering.

"Actually, my first day at school was quite interesting. Although I don't think I gave a bad presentation, I think it was pretty forgettable. I met some of my classmates and talked to them."

Grayfia tilted her head slightly, showing interest. "You talked to classmates? Can you tell me more?"

"Well, I met a boy called Issei Hyoudou and his two friends. He's the leader of a group known as the 'Perverted Trio', along with his two friends. We talked about random things, but I found him a bit interesting."

Grayfia arched an eyebrow, curious. "Is he more than he seems?"

"You could say that."

From that moment on, Ayanokouji started talking about what happened on his first day at school. About how he ended up meeting Toujou Koneko and Akeno Himejima. Two girls apparently, something that made her frown. She knows that was a girls-only choice until recently, but still...

But it was when he commented on "Souna Shitori" that she became a little alarmed. Her name sounded strange to Grayfia. And what he said next only made her right.

"Rias Gremory is also a student at this school, although I haven't met or talked to her."

"The Gremory house..." Grayfia whispered. "Kiyotaka-sama, I believe that this Souna Shitori is actually Sona Sitri, heiress to the Sitri house."

"Sitri, huh," he didn't sound surprised. "Well, I guess that explains how she acted when she was talking to me."

"What do you mean?"

"Nothing to worry about, it's just a detail."

She didn't like that, though.

"Kiyotaka-sama... if you don't mind me asking, could they be one of the reasons we moved to Kuoh and why you go to this school? Besides, they're not the only ones in this town."

The conversation was taking a mysterious turn.

"I'm aware of that, Grayfia. However, my reason is the same. I just want to enjoy the life of an ordinary student at school, a peaceful life."

"..."

Grayfia said nothing. Her master had always been mysterious, even when they met only four years ago, and he still was. At first, she didn't trust him because she believed he was dangerous. It was only because of what happened three years ago that she came to trust him completely, and that trust has only grown over time.

Her trust has grown so much that she has sworn extreme loyalty to him. But Grayfia is not naïve. Although she believed that he really did see her differently, and even with what she witnessed three years ago, he is still a mystery...

However, that didn't change the fact that she would be willing to do anything for him. After everything he's done for her, that's the least that can be expected.

They lived in Brazil for a while before moving to Japan again, staying here in Kuoh. Life in Brazil was rather interesting and quite peaceful most of the time.

They both finished their meals, Grayfia did her service, collecting the dishes and washing them.

However, Ayanokouji still hadn't gone to his room. He was staring at the window in the kitchen.

"Kiyotaka-sama?"

"Come, Grayfia."

Although confused, she obeyed and followed him to the outside of the house, where they found themselves in the flower-filled garden. They walked along the stone path before stopping.

Grayfia was a little confused, why had he asked her to go with him?

He stood there, surrounded by flowers, his hands in his pockets, surrounded by the nocturnal serenity of the garden, immersed in thoughts that transcended the merely ordinary. Watching the moon in the night sky, his golden brown eyes caught the soft light.

This lasted a few seconds, as Grayfia stared at him, before he spoke.

"Grayfia," he began, in a quiet, mysterious voice, "life, as we know it, is like this moon. Always visible at night, always on our horizons, but what we actually see is only a sliver of reality. Sometimes it's easy to forget that the moon, like life, has two sides."

He pointed in the direction of the moon, which illuminated the garden with its silvery light.

"We see its bright side, its full phases, and admire its beauty, but we rarely think about the hidden side. The part that remains in the shadows, hidden from our view, but just as much a part of it."

Grayfia watched her master intently, absorbing his words. She sensed something different in his voice, although there didn't seem to be any difference, as he spoke as usual. It was strange.

"Sometimes," he continued, "our lives can be similar. We celebrate the bright parts, the moments of joy and fulfillment. However, we forget that life, in its complexity, also contains shadows, challenges and mysteries that remain out of our sight, but are still an inextricable part of it."

What was this feeling she was experiencing? She couldn't describe it, but it was as if he was talking about himself with those words.

"Kiyotaka-sama, does that apply to our current life? To our move to Kuoh?"

"You can consider it that way. This move, like any other, has its bright side and its dark side. What we see is only part of it, but we must be aware of the totality, the duality of life and the choices we make."

They were both silent for a moment, absorbing the beauty of the moon in the starry sky.

"And that's exactly why I'm asking you not to forget those words, Grayfia..."

He suddenly turned to her, looking directly into her red eyes. She reciprocated by looking into his golden brown eyes, eyes that continued to show no emotion whatsoever.

"No matter how bright the moon, it will always have a dark side."

Although she knew his true nature, she still wanted to know how he ended up like this.

She didn't ask, as she believed he would tell her at some point.

She wanted to know more about him and these words seemed to have some greater meaning.

Grayfia, with a reflective expression, continued to watch her master. The night was quiet, and the flowers in the garden seemed to bow in reverence to the conversation that hung in the air. His words had touched a deep spot in her heart, a spot that made her question not only her move to Kuoh, but also her entire career with him.

He was a man of few words, always mysterious and enigmatic. Yet that night, in the serenity of the garden, he had shared something personal with her. Something that had transcended the nature of their usual conversations.

In that brief moment, he had allowed her a glimpse into his inner world, and Grayfia found herself wanting to understand more.

She didn't know much about his past. She vividly remembered the day he had rescued her and offered her a new life, a day that had completely changed the course of her existence. Since then, she had become his loyal servant, his protector, and she would follow him anywhere, facing challenges without hesitation.

As she watched his golden brown eyes, she realized that he was also like the moon from the analogy he had made. Brilliant in his dexterity and intelligence, but carrying a shadow, a hidden part that she still didn't fully understand.

In her silent reflection, Grayfia committed herself to understanding more about her master, to unraveling the mysteries that surrounded him. She wanted to be there to support him, not only in the battles they faced together, but also in his most intimate and personal moments.

In the silence of the night, under the watchful gaze of the moon, Grayfia felt a renewed sense of purpose, a deeper connection with her master, and a determination to unravel the mysteries that surrounded him. With a subtle smile, she nodded.

The night wind came up like a small breeze, swaying the flowers in the garden, as if nature itself were silently applauding this moment.

"I've already told you once, Kiyotaka-sama. However, I will tell you again. I am your servant, someone who will always be by your side and will never abandon you."

The story of an ordinary human and a maid who wasn't human.

What was their story?

It's certainly interesting.

However...

That's a story for another time.

Well, we've come to the end of this chapter. As I said in the initial notes, this will definitely be the last rewrite of this story. So I'm going to do this shit right.

If you've read the chapter from the previous version, you'll notice some similarities, but it's all very different. This time, Ayanokouji will be in 1st grade, in the same class as Koneko. In addition, there's a bit of writing in 1st person, aka Ayanokouji's POV. My previous writings were all in 3rd person, but I do better writing about Ayanokouji in 1st person. What do you think of this change?

Also, we have a bit of Ayanokouji from volume 1 of the Light Novel here. Those who have only watched the anime may find it a little strange, XD.

I'll say right away that Ayanokouji won't be replacing Issei. I know that many people don't like Issei as a protagonist, but I don't dislike him. This story started just before the main story canon began. Expect to see changes due to Ayanokouji's presence, but nothing too extravagant at first. Rias will still be Issei's, because if you can see, well, Ayanokouji already has a beautiful maid.

Speaking of maids, we have Grayfia. What do you know? How on earth did she end up as Ayanokouji's maid? Well, as I said at the end of the chapter, their story is to be told another time.

There are several hints in this chapter and I intend to make things a little more mysterious than in the other two versions. I'll do my best to make things interesting.

I'll stop here, as I want to avoid spoilers of what I want to do.

Anyway, that's it. Let me know what you think of this rewrite. How it compares to the previous ones (if you remember them, haha).

Last question and your opinion. Tell me, would you prefer it to be a harem or just Grayfia?

Anyway, I'll see you in the next chapter, which I'm already working on while I'm stuck on what to write for the next chapter of "Perfect Human in a Fantasy World".
