Prologue
Late 1996
Kim sighed as she saw her parents having yet another argument with yet another person that they probably owe money to. She really didn't want to deal with this, as she needed to get ready to leave for the FBI Academy soon and hasn't told them yet. She really regretted living with them during college, as they had caused nothing but problems for her, though she still managed to graduate early.
After quickly going to her room to recheck her suitcases and bringing them to the door without anyone noticing, checking her watch, as she knew her taxi would be there soon and she internally debated whether or not to even tell her parents she was leaving.
She had her answer when she realized that they were still arguing with the mystery man and quietly put her stuff in the newly arrived taxi and was soon off, not to see her parents in person for a long time.
