I'm so sorry this is so late. I got the idea to post everyday in October on the 7th, so I started seven days behind. I've been waiting to get more of them written before I start posting them, and no I'm gonna do so. I'll post three a day until I catch up. I hope you guys like my stories, and in this one specifically, I really hope the characters don't come off as too OOC.

One year prior to entering Jumanji

Fall was a great time to get great photos for her Instagram. Bethany loved to get pics of the falling leaves and the pumpkin spice lattes she purchased. The other things about fall also made great photos. Things like sweaters and scarves, pumpkin patches and Halloween costumes.

Bethany found herself walking outside to admire the leaves and get a closer picture one afternoon. Really, a staple of her fall posts were at least one picture of leaves falling from the trees.

"Beautiful," she muttered to herself as she snapped a few pics and turned to go back inside. She happened to turn to face the wind, and in doing so, it blew her hastily tied scarf right off her neck.

Immediately Bethany turned back around to try to grab it before it got too far away from her. The wind died down and Bethany was able to find it quickly. Luckily it hadn't flown too far, and she was able to step on it so it didn't get any further.

As she bent over to pick it up, she heard the jingling of dog tags and barking right before a dog bumped into her. Then she was falling, and landed into a pile of leaves along the edge of the sidewalk.

"Biscuit! Bad dog! I'm so sorry!" an elderly lady gushed as she helped pull Bethany up from the ground. "My Biscuit is always running off. I hope you're not hurt."

Giving the lady a forced polite smile, Bethany shook her head. "I'm ok."

The old lady frowned at her. "Let me help you, dear. I think you got some leaves in your hair."

Bethany's eyes widened and she pulled out her phone to look in the selfie mode of the camera. There indeed were quite a few leaves in her hair, and it was not good at all. "My hair!" she screeched and made for her house, not even saying goodbye to the old lady.

It took her nearly twenty minutes to get all the leaf fragments out of her hair, and it seemed that for each one she got out, there were always two more.

Post Jumanji

Martha, Fridge, and Spencer had asked Bethany to accompany them on a walk in the middle of October. It was a Saturday evening, and the group had been hanging out the whole day studying when Martha had suggested getting some fresh air. They had walked through a few neighborhoods and were currently in a park.

"Look at all the leaves!" Martha cried in glee as a gust of wind blew past them and carried the red leaves from the trees.

Around them were multiple piles of raked leaves, some with noticeable divots where children must have jumped into them.

Spencer nodded and smiled at his girlfriend, behind him, Fridge pushed him into a pile of leaves. On his way down, he grabbed Martha's hand to try to steady himself, but they both fell into the leaves.

"What was that for?" he asked as he struggled to right himself amongst the leaves.

Fridge didn't get a chance to respond because Bethany was laughing at the sight of Spencer and Martha covered in leaves.

"You've got leaves in your hair!" she giggled. It looked odd on Spencer, but they stayed in better because of the curls, but the fall colors really matched the color of Martha's hair, making it look great on her.

An evil-looking grin then came upon Martha's face, and she suddenly lunged towards Bethany and tried to pull her down to the ground too.

Bethany wasn't going to go down without a fight, and grabbed Fridge's arm. Unlike Martha trying to hold up Spencer, Fridge was able to keep both himself and Bethany from falling. They grinned at the pair still on the ground, then took off running as Spencer and Martha got up with fist-fulls of leaves and began chasing them.

To none of their surprise, Fridge was able to get far enough away to not get coated in leaves, but Bethany wasn't quite so lucky. With Fridge across nearly the entire park, Bethany was the only target left for the other pair. Hiding behind a tree, Spencer came around one side, and Martha came around the other, trapping her.

Spencer grabbed her wrists and held her while Martha began throwing leaves at her. Soon, there were leaves inside her shirt, wrapped up in her scarf, and, most importantly, in her hair.

A year ago she would have screamed at them for that. A year ago she would have humiliated them on social media. A year ago, she wouldn't have even been on their walk, let alone with these people.

Now, though, after being in that wretched game she had lightened up about the little things, like leaves in her hair. She also was friends with amazing people who knew she could now handle the thought of being smothered with leaves.

"Ok, ok, you got me."

Martha grinned and pulled her in for a hug. "It would have been easier if you had let yourself fall in the first place."

Bethany nodded. "I acknowledge that, but I still had hope to not get covered in leaves."

Martha and Spencer laughed as Fridge rejoined them.

"We should probably get back soon, I think we have some more study guides to fill out," he said and the four slowly returned to their current study spot — Martha's house.

Later that night, as Bethany was checking her Instagram — just because she wasn't obsessed with social media anymore didn't mean she couldn't still use it — she saw a picture Fridge had tagged her in.

The caption read; 'I've got the best of friends!' The picture above it was one he must have taken when Spencer and Martha were throwing leaves at her, all three of them smiling. There were a few comments, one being from Martha; 'Wait for our revenge, you were the only one who didn't get covered in leaves!'

Bethany smiled and posted her own comment. 'Martha's right, you're next!'
