The flapping of a small butterfly's wings today can cause a devastating hurricane in a few weeks.

The smallest decision can radically change the future.

Your actions will determine, the unfolding, the story.

Your story is one of many possibilities.

Choose your actions carefully.

A bus was driving slowly but surely through a snowy forest on its way to the last bus stop. In said vehicle curiously there were only two passengers, a boy and a girl.

"Change that serious face, Furensō."

The young man (18) known as 'Furensō' (Nickname: 'DarkRock') has a semi-tan complexion and his height is 6' 5''. He has tousled black spiky hair that reaches almost to his shoulders along with two locks framing his face and dark charcoal eyes. His clothing consists of a blue coat with white lines, black leather and with the initials "SAB" in violet color in the chest area, this coat extends to the chin at the top and to the knees at the bottom, wearing it in conjunction with black gloves, and, finally, he wears a pair of gray winter slippers.

Our beloved protagonist took his eyes off the window and instead looked at his companion.

"This is my happy face, Samantha."

The young woman (19) known as 'Samantha/Sam' (Surname: 'Giddings') has a fair complexion and her height 5' 7". She has blonde hair tied in a bun at the back of her head, with a few locks framing her face and hazel eyes. Her clothing consists of a purple long-sleeved shirt, a black leather jacket, a red scarf, a black lingerie shirt, a red plaid skirt, black stockings and gray boots with white trim. In addition, she also wears a fur hat.

The blonde smiled in amusement at the response of the young man in the strange, but curious coat.

"Thanks for coming, DarkRock."

The expression of the spiky black-haired young man softened a little at those words from his traveling companion... Though he almost rolled his eyes at that nickname she gave him.

"I owed you..." muttered Furensō with his eyes on the roof of the bus. "For not going to the prom," he said with a great sense of guilt.

The hazel-eyed girl shrugged her shoulders without attaching much importance to that matter.

"Relax, DarkRock. Josh danced with me, so I wasn't alone," Sam assured sincerely, but still a small part of her would have wished a certain young man had gone to the dance.

Furensō took her gaze off the ceiling and again focused it on her schoolmate, but she didn't know what to say because if she told him the truth of her absence they could never see each other again and that was something she'd rather avoid.

"Anyway, let's put that topic aside," Sam commented with a sigh at the end of her words. "I'm happy that this year if we can all get together," she said with a slight smile.

The coal-dark-eyed young man understood what one of his few friends was referring to.

"Yes... Last year there was a big storm in this area that paralyzed all the roads, right?" asked Furensō with a thoughtful expression as he remembered that historic day where it snowed like never seen before.

The blonde nodded her head with a slightly annoyed expression because the damn storm had ruined their way out and with that their chance to propose to DarkRock at that moment, but now she had another chance to achieve her goal.

"Yeah... Josh said-"

{Braking}

Both Furensō and Samantha put the conversation aside because they had apparently reached their destination.

"Last stop. Blackwood Pines."

Both young men nodded in thanks to the driver and followed by getting off the bus with their respective luggage.

"It's so beautiful by day, but at night it feels menacing, like a sleeping giant," Sam opined with his gaze on the snowy forest and towering mountain. "What do you think, DarkRock?" she asked as she adjusted her scarf and listened as the bus drove off leaving them alone.

Our beloved protagonist stretched his body a bit and also settled his backpack on his shoulder.

"Well... It's quiet. I like it," Furensō replied with his gaze on the semi-dark forest, which was illuminated only by the little (it was somewhat cloudy) moonlight and of course the road illuminated by the artificial light of the spotlights (bulbs).

They both walked towards the entrance of "Blackwood Pines", where the cabin of the caretaker of the then was, but strangely he was not to be found and the cabin light was on.

"Hmm?" thought Furensō with mild interest as he felt that something or someone was watching them, but he couldn't check it out unless he was closer (as the energy was very strange) and he couldn't leave Samantha alone to see who was stalking them either.

The hazel-eyed young woman noticed that her traveling companion was looking towards a specific spot in the forest and out of imitation did the same, but she saw nothing.

"Is something wrong, Furensō?" asked Sam with a worried expression at the possibility that a bear or wolf was about to attack them.

The young man with tousled black spiky hair opened the wooden door and waved his friend through first.

"No..." Furensō shook his head, but he didn't let his guard down because he was accompanied with someone who couldn't defend himself against an unknown animal that has the mass similar to a bear.

After that, they both continued on their way to the cable car station, but suddenly they had to stop because of the metal gate that was obstructing their way. One curious thing was the paper note taped to one of the metal bars. Sam tore off the note to see what it said and it read as follows:

The door is broken, jump over the top!

Chris

The blonde blinked a couple of times and when she turned the note over she saw that it was directions to Blackwood Pines.

"What the...?" exclaimed Sam in disbelief. "Shit," she cursed as she focused her gaze on the snow and ice-strewn stone wall they would have to climb to cross.

The young man with eyes as dark as coal watched from above the note and seeing his traveling companion's gaze on the wall made him act.

"Haber... Leave it to me," Furensō said in a calm tone as he pushed the metal gate a bit and it made a creaking sound from the rust and ice accumulated from years.

The hazel-eyed young woman watched as her traveling companion smoothly opened the metal gate.

"Woah... How did you do that, DarkRock?" asked Sam with a surprised tone accompanied by a curious expression.

Our beloved protagonist arranged both gates of the gate so that they were permanently open.

"I train a lot," Furensō replied with a small smile and with his fist clenched in front of his face as he turned around to look at his friend.

The blonde rolled her eyes at her friend's response, but couldn't help but smile back.

"Yeah, yeah, come on beefy," Sam said.

They were both walking for quite a while because Sam was distracted for a few minutes by a squirrel and in the process they had to climb a lot of stairs. But eventually they reached the cable car station and found two people sitting on a bench next to it.

"Chris! Beth!" exclaimed Sam happily as he headed towards his two school friends.

The young woman (19) known as 'Beth' (Surname: 'Washington') has a tanned complexion and her height 5' 8". She has semi-short dark brown hair, which reaches her chin with bangs under her white cap and brown eyes. His attire consists of a gray half-sleeved sweater, dark gray yoga pants and a pair of cream-colored boots. She also wears a watch on her wrist and a fuchsia winter coat.

The young man (19) known as 'Chris/Christofer' (Surname: 'Hartley') has a fair complexion and his height 5' 11". He has dirty blond hair in a faux hawk style and blue eyes along with black rectangular-rimmed glasses. His attire consists of a light blue jacket layered over a green commando-style sweater, a blue collared shirt and white t-shirt with the text "Coach" and "Loop", and a pair of jeans along with brown hiking boots.

Furensō silently watched the two young men who stood up from the bench and were now heading towards their friend with open arms to give each other a tight hug... Lots of drama.

"Sam!"

The young man with tousled black spiky hair again had that feeling that something was watching them and prepared himself for the worst since he was the only one of the group who could defend himself, but the problem was that if there were more than one enemy he wouldn't be able to protect those present (Beth, Chris and Sam) ... Not without revealing his powers, obviously.

"Hello, Furensō!"

Our beloved protagonist had to snap out of his thoughts when he heard the female voice calling him.

"Beth... Hello". Furensō returned her greeting and also saw Chris greeting him with a thumbs up, so he respectfully nodded his head silently.

The chestnut had sneaked up on DarkRock (well, not really because he noticed her presence xd) and had done so to take a closer look at the young man in the peculiar coat as he has an imposing appearance.

"I'm glad you came," Beth said with sincerity that was accompanied by a smile.

The dark-eyed young man with eyes as dark as coal became a little nervous at the brown-eyed girl's stare because he was not used to this level of attention.

"Yeah... Sam told me something similar," Furensō commented with his gaze on Samantha (who was less than a meter away talking to Christofer), though his words didn't go down too well with Beth because she let out an annoyed sigh.

An awkward silence ensued where none of the four knew what to say, until this awkward moment was interrupted by a certain blonde with glasses.

"Well... I've found something amazing!" exclaimed Chris loud enough to get the attention of his friends and he also raised both arms to make it more dramatic.

Everyone present had a different reaction to the blue-eyed young man's words:

Sam averted her gaze from the interaction between her best friend's sister as she instead listened with a touch of curiosity to Christofer. Beth rolled her eyes as she knew it was "that amazing thing" her friend found. And Furensō... Well, he wasn't paying much attention because his gaze was in the forest keeping an eye on the stalker stalking them from the snowy bushes and trees.

"Follow me! It's this way." Chris pointed to a specific spot behind the cable car.

Our beloved protagonist despite being looking at something else did hear what Christofer said, so he walked behind Beth and Samantha in the direction of a small shooting range.

"Want to try first, Furensō?" asked Chris with an amused smile as he offered him the only rifle in the place.

The young man with tousled black spiky hair blinked several times as said firearm appeared in his line of sight.

"No, thanks," Furensō replied uninterestedly and in passing took a step back to show that he didn't want to participate in the game.

The blond shrugged at the response of the tallest boy in the class.

"Okay..." muttered Chris trying to hide his disappointment. "What about you girls?" he asked eagerly because he was hopeful that they would say yes.

Both Beth and Samantha said 'No' in unison and with folded arms.

"How boring..." whispered Chris with a look of few friends. "Your loss. More fun for me!" he affirmed loudly and with a renewed smile on his lips.

They were at the range for a while (five minutes) where Christofer bragged about his good aim to Beth and Samantha, but it was time to leave because the girls were starting to feel the icy wind on their bodies that made them shiver.

"Hey, gunman! To the cable car," Sam ordered earnestly and she wouldn't take no for an answer.

Chris put the rifle back on the rack he found it on, though he did so reluctantly because he would have preferred to stay longer to continue having fun practicing his marksmanship.

"What a strange sport..." thought Furensō crossly as he saw that a certain blue-eyed young man had only shot at some sandbags and several soda cans.

After that, the four of them turned back towards the cable car and a certain blond guy volunteered to open the door to said place.

"You girls first," Chris said with a dramatic and graceful bow.

Both Beth and a certain brown-eyed blonde rolled their eyes at the words and exaggerated action of their friend and classmate.

"Oh, what a gentleman," Sam commented with a sarcastic tone that was accompanied by an amused smile.

Our beloved protagonist made sure to close the door once he entered the cable car as a precaution and also so he wouldn't get a surprise with a certain stalker. Leaving that aside, his attention was directed towards a large sign that stood out a lot in the place, curious he approached and saw that it said the following:

BLACKWOOD PINES, Hotel and Asylum: "For physical and mental well-being".

"What a freak, huh?" said Beth as she positioned herself next to the dark-eyed young man with eyes as dark as coal.

Furensō remained silent with his gaze on the sign because he let the brown-eyed girl continue the conversation she started.

"My parents bought this place to shoot a movie," Beth revealed with a small smile because she remembered the enthusiasm of her father who had even bought many materials (costumes, makeup, tools, etc.) to start shooting a horror movie. "But everything has been delayed because of intruders and protesters (Native Americans), but there is one troublesome guy who stands out from the others..." she added with a grimace, as she also remembered the problems they had every time they visited the family estate during the vacations.

The young man with tousled black spiky hair turned his head towards the youngest Washington daughter.

"A 'trouble guy'? Is that the poster person outside?" asked Furensō with a touch of interest without giving much thought to the issue of the protesters because right now the concern was that they were in the crosshairs of a possible psychopath.

The chestnut nodded her head without taking her eyes off the sign for the hotel and asylum.

"Yeah... He's a madman who says we're trespassing on his land and that it's sacred to his ancestors," Beth explained with a sigh as she remembered the letters her mother used to send to the natives (including the troubled guy) in an attempt at reconciliation, but so far it had been futile. "Sometimes I feel like someone is spying on us, even mom has had the same feeling," she added with a slight shiver running through her body.

Our dear protagonist didn't say anything about the chestnut's words, but he remembered the matriarch (Melinda) of the Washington family, she was certainly a good person.

"Hey, you two! The booth is here," Chris announced loud enough for them to hear.

Both Hannah's twin and Furensō turned around and indeed the cab that would take them to the big mansion.

"Wow... That was fast," Beth commented in mock amazement because she noticed the cold stare of a certain blonde on her person.

Sam rolled her eyes at her best friend's sister's comment.

"Actually, no. The two of them were talking for quite a while oblivious to the weather and us," Chris explained pointing at Samantha and likewise with the index finger of her right hand.

The brown-eyed brunette gave her dear friend from school a death glare.

"Thank you for your words, Chris," Beth said with a forced smile and trying her best not to start a confrontation with her older brother's best friend.

The blond smiled with amusement that he had achieved his goal of making the youngest Washington daughter a little angry.

"You're welcome, Beth!" Chris gave her a thumbs up with the intention of provoking her a little more and it worked because she gave him the middle finger in response.

Furensō looked at the "crossing" of Christofer and Beth without understanding anything, so he gave Samantha a look to explain what was happening, but she shrugged her shoulders (on purpose) and told him in a low voice not to give it importance.

After that, the four of them climbed into the cable car cabin. Samantha and Beth got on first and waited until the last moment to see where Furensō would sit, and when the latter chose a place to sit; the first to react was Sam who got on the right side of her love interest and smiled teasingly at her best friend's twin sister. Beth cursed under her breath for losing a battle against her rival, so she reluctantly sat down next to Christofer, who chuckled under his breath at what had happened.

"She's too close... Will she be cold?" thought Furensō watching out of the corner of his eye as Samantha leaned against his right arm and let out a happy sigh. "Yes... must be that." He didn't get the girl's message, maybe because he was an idiot or clueless.

The hazel-eyed blonde was very happy and showed it by saying the following (and she hoped the others would play along):

It will be an unforgettable vacation! (Sam) ... Now the adventure begins! (Chris) ... We'll have fun till we die! (Beth)

A certain young man with spiky black hair was a little surprised by the sudden burst of words from his friends, but again he relaxed and started looking out the cable car window with a slightly bored expression because he didn't see anything that caught his attention so far.

"Want to know how I met Josh?" asked Chris with the same level of enthusiasm as always.

Furensō closed her eyes for a moment because she had no interest in listening to the conversation between the blue-eyed blond and her friends.

Elsewhere

A group of seven young people were waiting somewhat worriedly for Beth, Christofer, Furensō and Samantha. Although there was one who stood out from the others because he had an even greater concern and this one showed it by walking in circles muttering the following:

"Where are those four?"

The others watched nervously as the young man spoke because seeing him like this was starting to upset them, so one of them got up from the armchair he was sitting in and got up the courage to say the following:

"Take it easy, Josh. I'm sure Beth and the others are fine."

The young man (20) known as 'Joshua/Josh' (Surname: 'Washington') has a tan complexion and his height 5' 11". He has short dark brown hair and blue eyes along with black rectangular-rimmed glasses. His clothing consists of a gray sweater with a large white stripe and a pair of jeans along with brown hiking boots.

Josh kept walking in circles and ignored his classmate's words.

"Mike's right, bro."

The young man (20) known as 'Michael/Mike' (Surname: 'Munroe') has a fair complexion and his height 6' 2". He has short black hair and brown eyes. His clothing consists of a brown plaid shirt and a pair of jeans along with brown hiking boots.

This time Josh stopped (and stopped walking in circles) at the sound of his little sister's voice and in the process let out a sigh he had been holding in for almost an hour.

"I know, Hannah. But I can't help but worry about Beth, after all I'm the big brother and it's my duty to protect you both."

The young woman (19) known as 'Hannah' (Surname: 'Washington') has a tanned complexion and her height 5' 8''. She has dark brown, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes along with onyx black rectangular glasses. Her clothing consists of blue jeans, a black lace shirt and dark blue hiking sneakers. In addition, she has a butterfly tattoo on her upper right arm.

Hannah couldn't help but smile at her older brother's words and was about to say something to him, but the moment was ruined by another female voice saying the following:

"Han is right, Josh. You're overreacting too much. Besides, I'm sure Beth is in Furensō's muscular arms."

Both Hannah and Josh looked coldly at their classmate because she was always finding a way to ruin a nice, quiet moment.

"You're such an idiot, Emily."

The young woman (19) known as 'Emily/Em' (Surname: 'Davis') has an olive complexion and her height 5' 7". She has black, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes and a birthmark above her left eyebrow. His attire consists of a dark cerulean blue jogger style jacket with a low collar, covering a plain white t-shirt along with a silver necklace and black jeans along with white hiking sneakers.

Emily wiped the smirk from her lips upon hearing the female voice that told her that and instead glared angrily at the one responsible.

"Shut up, Jessica. Stay out of my conversation, you fucking bitch."

The young woman (18) known as 'Jessica/Jess' (Surname: 'Riley') has an olive complexion and her height 5' 5". She has beige blonde hair styled in two Dutch braids tied with magenta headbands and gray eyes. Her clothing consists of an olive green top and dark green skirt with black leggings along with pink hiking shoes.

Another one of the young men decided to intervene in the argument that was about to turn into a physical fight, and it wasn't long before that happened because Jessica walked boldly towards Emily with the intention of slapping her.

"Please, girls! Don't fight-"

"Shut up/Shut your mouth, Matt!"

The young man (18) known as 'Matt' (Surname: 'Taylor') has a dark complexion and his height 5' 9". He has short black hair and brown eyes. His clothing consists of a light cobalt blue letterman's jacket over a light denim jacket along with a gray turtleneck sweater, gray sweatpants and gray hiking sneakers.

Matt recoiled in fright at the screams and murderous looks from both women.

"Hey!"

The dark-skinned young man had inadvertently stepped on someone's foot.

"S-sorry, Ash, I didn't see you!"

The young woman (18) known as 'Ashley/Ash' (Surname: 'Brown') has a fair complexion and her height 5' 5". She has layered red hair of medium length and green eyes. She wears natural color lip gloss and smoky eye shadow. Her outfit consists of a dark green and white striped cap, a dark red quilted jacket, a green long sleeve shirt, black lace-up boots and a pair of charcoal colored yoga pants.

Ashley sighed (rubbing her injured foot) and tried to keep reading, but this was impossible with the screaming of those two crazy women along with her friends' pleas for them to stop fighting... she only hoped to see Chris because it was only for him that she had come to spend the vacations in this inhospitable place.

{knock} {knock}

Those two knocks on the door were all it took for everyone to fall silent.
