Before you start reading I just want to warn you that Harry is a bad parent in my DR because I think it will enhance the story. If you don't like this scenario, not to be rude but, stop reading, or deal with it. Trust me, I wish I could make Harry a good parent, but then the story would not be as good. If you like this story thank you, if not I'm sorry to disappoint you. In this story, COVID isn't gonna be a thing because there is no way in hell I'm writing around that, lol. The story does get better, this is just the introduction. Also, they might use iPhone's as well, depending on how the story goes. Anyway, enjoy your reading!

Today is July 31st, 2021, which meant it was the famous Harry Potter's birthday, once again. His daughter, Lily Potter, woke up bright and early, that morning, to surprise her father for his birthday. She was going to make her father breakfast. Lily knew that at this point in her life, it was childish to make her father breakfast-in-bed for his birthday, but she did it every year. It was tradition!

Lily tip-toed down the stairs of their elegant mansion, trying hard not to wake any of her family members up. She went into the kitchen and started to prepare her dad's breakfast. She imagined the face of her proud father smiling at her with gratitude in his eyes as she gave him her presents for his birthday. She was proud of herself for doing something right. She was yearning for approval from Harry, her father. She made her dad mini Treacle Tarts for his birthday breakfast, because it was his favorite. Lily made them the night before while Harry was at the ministry finishing up his work. Lily opened up the fridge, took out the mini Treacle Tarts, and put them in them in the microwave. While it was heating up, she made him tea.

Once it was finished heating up she put two of them on a plate, scooped one scoop of vanilla ice cream, and put it on the dessert. Lily tip-toed quietly back upstairs to her parents' room.

A week ago, Lily told her mum, Ginny Potter, that she was going to make her father breakfast for his birthday, and Ginny said that her dad would always go to work so Lily would have to wake up extra early, as well. And that, she did.

Lily was walking to her parents room with her fathers breakfast, when she passed her room and noticed the door was open. I could have sworn I closed it she thought, as she wandered into her room. To her surprise, she saw Ginny walking towards your bed, it seemed as if she wanted to check up on Lily.

"Mum, what are you doing?" Lily asked confused.

Ginny jumped "Merlin! Lily, you scared me."

She looked down at the plate in Lily's hand, then back at Lily with a sympathetic expression.

"What?" Lily said, still utterly baffled.

"There was an emergency at the ministry and Dad had to leave earlier then he usually does for work" Ginny answered, seeing the disappointed face of her daughter. But Lily wasn't disappointed in her father, she was disappointed in herself for not hearing Harry when he woke up to get ready for work. If she had, she would have been able to give her father at least his gifts, but now, she has to wait until he gets home, which is very late at night.

"Oh," Lily said, as she placed the Treacle Tarts and tea on her desk. "Is he coming back home early or..." Lily asked searching for some hope that this day would go as she planned.

"No," Ginny answered "He's staying there until the end of the day again, maybe even later."

WHAT! Why later?! Is what Lily wanted to say, but instead she said with a fake smile,"Oh, okay. It's fine."

"Lily, I knew you were planning for this day to be perfect-"

"Mum, I said it's fine." Lily said raising her voice. Tears starting to well up in her eyes. Great, now I'm crying, she thought, Merlin, why am I so pathetic. She didn't want validation from her mum. She didn't want it from anyone. She just wanted to be left alone in her thoughts, so she could come out of her room half an hour later, pretend like nothing happened, and then everyone can move on happily in life. That's how it was always like, and she liked that. She didn't want anyone looking down at her sympathetically, she didn't like feeling vulnerable.

"Lily Luna Potter!" Ginny screamed back, "I don't care how upset you are, you will not raise your voice with me!"

"Just leave!" Lily answered back, looking down so her mother didn't see her tears almost fall out of her eyes.

"Well I'm sorry for just trying to be a good mum." Ginny continued. But Lily, still looking down, got out a book, and started to read, ignoring Ginny.

Ginny stormed out of the room, and mumbled angrily,"And this is why I never wanted to have kids."

"At least close the door!" Lily called out to her mum, who was already on the other side of the hall.

"Stop being a lazy arse, and close it yourself." Ginny called back, jokingly. She new that Lily was feeling down, and she knew how to lift her spirits.

"Ugh," Lily slumped out of her chair, smiling. She closed the door to her room, and went back into the chair of her desk to continue reading.

Someone knocked on her door, "Oh and we're going to Diagon Alley today, at ten o'clock. So be ready." Her mother called from the hall.

"So in four hours. So little time, I wish you would've told me sooner." Lily answered back sarcastically.

"Maybe next time I won't tell you at all."
