Early the next morning, Carlos is feeling surprisingly calm but is worried about lashing out at his friends again so he stays in bed for a while until he smells bacon downstairs and bolts out of the room.
"Today I think we should be outside in the fresh air. For our mental health and Carlos'." Logan says, walking downstairs with Kendall.
"Good idea. Where is our amigo? He's usually the first one up for breakfast." Kendall says.
Both teens are knocked down when Carlos practically flies past them to the kitchen.
"Whoa!" The tall blonde says.
Was that Carlos or am I still dreaming?
"It was him," Logan groans, face first on one of the steps.
"We all know he's fast but he's never been THAT fast before. What is going on with him?" Kendall says, helping up his buddy.
They go to the kitchen.
"Um, guys why is he acting like a dog? He's panting happily over the smell of bacon. That's not normal even for him" James, points out.
"There's a lot of things I'll never understand about Carlos," Logan says, shrugging.
"Like how he just bulldozed us on the steps?" Kendall asks still confused as to why it happened.
"Yeah, especially that," Logan replies, sipping on some orange juice.
"He knocked you guys down on purpose?" James says in bewilderment.
"No, I don't think he realized what he did. It's like his only focus was on the bacon and nothing else mattered. We were just obstacles in his way." Logan answers.
"Wow, that is unusual." James says.
"I'm sorry guys," Carlos suddenly says, from the couch.
I didn't know I knocked you and Kendall down. It was all a blur. My only focus was on the bacon. I didn't even see you guys in front of me.
"We're not mad or injured. Logan and I are fine." Kendall says.
They finish eating, take showers, and get dressed for the day. They go outside and play frisbee.
Later that evening they sit around a fire and roast s'mores.
"Carlos that's like your 5th one. Save some for the rest of us." Kendall says, taking the bag of marshmallows from him
The young Latino growls at him.
"Did you just growl at me?" The tall blonde says, shocked by his behavior.
"Hmm? No, I didn't do anything." Carlos replies.
"Maybe I'm hearing things." Kendall sighs, eating another s'more.
"Do you hear that?" Carlos says, alarmed.
It's a raccoon!
"I don't hear anything." James says, looking around.
"It's nearby! Right behind those bushes!" Carlos says, pointing to them.
And I can hear an owl too!
"We don't hear what you're hearing dude." Logan says.
"Come on I'll show you!" Carlos says, getting up and running to the sounds.
See? There's a raccoon right there and an owl right over there.
"Carlos, how can you possibly know that?" Kendal says in disbelief.
"Kenny he's right look." Logan says, pointing forward.
There's the raccoon by that large log and there's the owl about three trees away.
"Whoa, how did he know that?" James says, extremely curious.
"I don't know he might be pranking us. He might have seen those animals earlier today and is pretending to suddenly know where they are," Kendall replies.
"I'm not pranking you. I know it's almost Halloween but I'm not sure why you are mad at me for something I'm telling you the truth about." Carlos says, saddened by the accusation.
"He sounds sincere to me. Stop being so negative Kendall." James says, comforting his distraught pal.
"You shouldn't have said that to him," Logan says in agreement.
"How else could he have possibly known exactly where those animals were?" The tall blonde says.
"I don't know but you made him sad by not believing him," Logan answers back.
"Carlitos I wasn't trying to offend you." Kendall apologizes for his harsh words.
"It's ok. Thank you." Carlos says
They put out the fire and go back inside of the cabin.
