Chapter 3: Unexpected Reunions

Location: Ghostbusters HQ, FDNY Ladder 8, New York City, USA
The Ghostbusters had been working late, Peter, Ray & Winston eventually went home later that night, but Egon & Janine stayed, to keep an eye on Carrie White, who they'd let sleep in the lobby for the night. While Carrie had been kept safe in the lobby, Egon had rung his daughter, who happened to be Eleanor Snell, The mother of Sue Snell, and family. Egon explained to Eleanor to break it gently to Sue, about Carrie was still alive, in New York, and that they had found her…
Since what happened in the aftermath of the 'Black Prom Massacre' last year, Sue was devastated since that night, she had lost nearly everything… First her boyfriend: Tommy Ross, All because of Chris Hargensen's prank on Carrie… Then all her former friends, all because of their selfishness, and Carrie's fury… But the worst of it all to Sue, was losing Carrie… Sue had moved on from most of the aftermath, with the support of her mother, her father: Jason, her younger sister: Sierra, her former gym teacher: Rita Desjardin, Tommy's Friends: George Dawson & Erika Gogan, & The Former School Principal: Henry Morton, who had all also survived Carrie's rampage. Sue gave her best of a statement, not just to defend Carrie's name, but to show the town of Chamberlain, Maine, their greatest mistake… Several funerals & Burials took place not long afterwards, Sue, her family, Rita, George, Erika & Henry only attended the funerals & Burials of Tommy & Carrie, seeing they were good people that were genuine, despite Carrie's rage and fury, leading to the disaster of the prom. The parents of Chris and the Ultras wanted Sue and co to attend their children's funerals, as well as not have a Funeral for Carrie, but they all deeply refused, telling them all, that their children's selfishness and actions, was what truly got them killed…
Sometime after Carrie's burial, along with her mother, there was a disturbance at Carrie's grave, Margaret's body was still in her coffin… but Carrie's body was missing… Once the news spread, Chamberlain descended into Chaos, there were Mobs & Riots, believing Carrie was indeed still alive, and were determined to hunt down and kill Carrie for good… Sue, Her Family, Rita, George, Erika, & Henry all decided to move away from Chamberlain, resulting in them all moving to New York, as well as several other residence, moving to New York, or other parts of the world. Sue & her family were soon reunited with their father/Grandfather, Egon, as well as him and his friends were the Original Ghostbusters, as well as Egon, Peter, Winston, and Ray learning what had happened in Chamberlain, unaware of Carrie's survival & presence in New York…
Egon also needed to keep an eye on Carrie, regarding her powers. Egon had heard rumors about people who could display powers, but never encountered one before, but after learning of Carrie's powers, Egon wanted to see if he could find the source of them, but didn't want to do anything that would be forceful or harmful towards Carrie… Egon would explain this to Carrie, once she was awake, and was reunited with Sue & Co.
The door then knocked, as Janine tended to the door, allowing Peter, Ray & Winston in… but behind them, was Sue Snell, her family, Rita Desjardin, George Dawson, Erika Gogan & Henry Morton in tow…
Once Eleanor told Sue, Rita, George, Erika, & Henry, that Egon and the Ghostbusters had found & saved Carrie, as well as where Carrie was now, they wasted no time, and all made their way to Ghostbusters HQ. They were all worried regarding her powers, but also glad that Carrie was alive…
"Grandpa, where is she? Is she alright?" Sue asked in seconds of shock, while Egon calmed his Granddaughter.
"Calm down Sue, and keep your voice down, she's still asleep, you don't want to scare her." Egon replied, calming Sue, as he showed her to where Carrie was sleeping the lobby, with everyone else in tow…
*In Carrie's Dream*
Carrie found herself lying down on some sort of misted ground, as she opened her eyes, before getting up, looking around, before she turned around, to see a brightly lit stairway, leading up to a strange-looking Temple. Carrie looked in wonder & concern at the temple, before she saw 2 demonic looking Dog like creatures, the size of Bears, standing on both sides of the stairway, growling and glaring at her… Carrie was scared, expecting them to pounce and attack her, not knowing whether to stay still, or slowly back away… but they just continued to growl and stare at her with their glaring and glowing Blood Red eyes… The doors to the temple opened, shining a bright light, before a strange looking figure, walked from the light… It was Woman, with Pale White skin, Black Flattop hair, Blood Red eyes, almost matching both the dogs' eyes. & her body was covered, shoulders to toes, in some sort of bodysuit, that looked as if it was made of some kind of cloth like slime material, with energy bolts of power flashing on her shoulders. as she walked down the staircase, to where the dogs were, before she gave one of them an energy charged tickle, before she turned her attention to Carrie, who was frozen still in fear…
"My Child…" The woman said, in strange mixture of Male & a Female voice.
"Who are you? What do you want?" Carrie asked nervously, still frozen in fear…
"You stand before Gozer… Gozer the Gozerian… Gozer the Destructor… Gozer the Traveler… Your maker… Your God! This world belongs to me… You will help me gain it my child!" Gozer stated.
"Me?! Why me?" Carrie asked again nervously in fear, feeling she knew what it was that Gozer wanted with her specifically.
"Why do you think my child? Where do you think your gifts came from, Carrietta?" Gozer asked Carrie rhetorically, before she slowly held her hand out, as it glowed a reddish pink power color, shooting electrical energy at her, as she turned away in fright.
*Nightmare Ends*
Carrie shot up from her nightmare, gasping and breathing heavily in fright, as Sue quickly rushed over to her, as well as Rita…
"Carrie! Carrie, it's ok, we're here." Sue said, as she & Rita hugged Carrie tightly, trying to calm her down.
"Sue? Miss Desjardin? Is it you? Is it really Both of you?" Carrie gasped, with tears forming in her eyes, as she hugged Sue back, as she noticed everyone else was all the people she remembered from back in Chamberlain, including Miss Desjardin.
"It's really us Carrie." Rita replied, as they parted from their hug.
"I-I really don't know how you found me… or what I can say more than, I'm so sorry… for everything that I did that night…" Carrie said nervously.
"Carrie… What happened that night, wasn't all your fault… people did die because of your powers… but they were the ones who made you do it… Carrie, if Chris hadn't pulled that horrible prank, would you have still done it?" Rita asked Carrie, as Carrie looked back on what happened a year ago, leading to her prom massacre, knowing she had to be honest with everyone, even herself…
"No… No, I wouldn't have done it, if it wasn't for Chris… But it wasn't just what they did to me, that, drove me to kill them… It was also what they did to Tommy, that fueled my anger towards them… but I still feel, that if hadn't gone to prom, none of everything would have happened…" Carrie explained, as more tears formed in her eyes, remembering when Tommy Ross was killed behind her back, and her cradling his dead body…
"Carrie, Tommy's death was definitely not your fault, that one was on Chris for sure." George added in, trying to comfort Carrie, especially after all the times he had seen or been involved with her bullying.
"You may have killed quite a lot of people that night Carrie, but none of us here think you're a monster…" Erika also added to the comfort, even Sue's family, and even her former principal didn't think she was truly evil, even though they all knew of her powers, and how dangerous they were, if Carrie was pushed too far…
"But Carrie, how did you survive, or even get to New York?" Sue asked in concern. "I remember the last time I saw you; we were burying you with your mother…"
"If I had to guess… My powers must have protected me from getting supposedly crushed under my home, even though, I used my powers to end it all… or so I thought… I remember waking up in a dark, cold, and confined space, almost impossible to move or breathe… but then my powers managed to weaken the ground above me, so I could dig my way out… I saw mine and mama's gravestone when I reached the surface, and saw the vandalisms of it, seeing that people still tormented me, even with thinking I was truly dead… I knew from even before those moments, I couldn't remain back home, knowing what else could happen If anyone saw me back from the dead… so I scavenged what I needed to survive, and I just walking and running away as far from home as I could, not caring where I end up… But as much as it hurt for what did to those who had hurt me all my life… It hurt more, that I'd left you all behind…" Carrie explained mournfully. "But even though I was miles away from home… it wasn't just the horrid memories that followed me here…"
"When we found Carrie last night, she was being spooked and attacked by what we're guessing, were some of the spirits of her Tormentors and victims, we managed to capture one of them, but the others escaped." Egon added in, explaining how he and the Ghostbusters found Carrie, leading to them letting her stay in the lobby overnight.
"Even after their deaths, they still won't leave Carrie alone…" Eleanor said, looking at Egon and Carrie.
"Seeing them as ghosts must have really frightened you last night Carrie… I'm guessing you were still having nightmares about them overnight…" Peter said with sympathy.
"Well… funny you mentioned my nightmare… but that was not what I seeing in my nightmare last night… This was something… Totally different… it was nothing to do with Chris and my dead tormentors… I'm even starting to remember this nightmare from my childhood… I did my mama about this nightmare… but whenever I did, she'd go crazy about it, saying strange things, like 'The Devil have come back for me'…" Carrie said nervously.
"Really? What happened in your nightmare?" Ray asked in concern, as he Peter, Egon and Winston began to wonder if Carrie's reoccurring unheard-of nightmare, was something paranormal…
"Well… I found myself appearing before this… strange temple with a misty ground… Then this woman appeared, with these 2 bear-sized demonic dog like creatures… she said some strange things regarding me… before shooting some sort of power at me, causing me to wake up…" Carrie explained nervously, giving the Ghostbusters, and strangely, Sue's family, a very Eerie feeling of déjà vu…
"This woman, Carrie, did she have a name?" Egon asked in a mixture of concern and worry.
"She said her name was… Gozer…" Carrie replied, confirming to nearly everyone, that someone or something evil from their past, may be making a possible return…
