Once upon a time, there lived two individuals who wanted nothing more than to change the world and have respect for their people. They grew up with different views on seeing society operate. One with a vision of truth while the other had a vision as if it was a fairytale. These two individuals were none other than Huey Percy Freeman and Jazmine Elizabeth Wulncer.

Growing up, they were exposed to they were exposed to discrimination between whites and blacks. The whites are superior to the blacks who are just a pawn in their games. They are treated as worthless creatures who are forced to work under the white man and their rules. From the moment they are born, they enter into a world with hard labor, low-wage jobs, and no respect for their kind. The only way you could make decent pay around the area was if you went to risk your life in war, go on risky missions for the king, or work alongside the white man in punishing your brothers and sisters and obeying everything they asked you to do.

There were only a few individuals who would volunteer to do these jobs. Some who rather die than be tortured, others who wanted to get away, and those who had no shame or remorse for humankind. It was all messed up and unfair to the blacks because they were still risking their lives and giving up their sanities for the white man.

Even though you got to leave and go on missions for the king to bring back valuable items, you still had to come back because you were under oath. If you don't come back the 'The White Shadow' will find you and bring you back! Along with the other kingdoms from across the seas that will force you to go back.

The White Shadow was the head disciplinarian of Maryland and would put any black in their place. He was inhuman to the blacks because he was no man, he was the Devil himself! Meaning he would always be there when something happened and he was the last person you wanted to receive a punishment from. He would do things to traumatize you for life and even if death were to take you, you wouldn't be in peace.

The White Shadow got to you not only physically but mentally. He knew this and it would put a smile on his face when he did know this. Everybody feared the White Shadow even the whites themselves. King Wuncler of Maryland had made a great investment when picking The White Shadow as head disciplinarian. The odd thing about the White Shadow is that no one knew where he came from, he never grew up in Maryland, didn't come from any of the other kingdoms in the country, and none of the 7 seas...he was just there!

It remains a history of his background and how he came to be. Some say he is a sorcerer, others say he's a demon that came from Hell to make life miserable for the blacks, and only one believes he exists in their minds.

That one person is none other than Huey P. Freeman himself or as others would say Captain Freeman of the Seven Seas. He was one of the only black pirates that the country depended on and an influential figure for his people. He had done the impossible and that was survive. He and his crew the AFRO BRUH had gone on many dangerous missions for the king and fulfilled his wants and needs. He paid a decent amount for their work but he showed no respect for them, their people, or the values they brought to this country.

Huey had always wanted to leave Maryland and never come back. He wanted a taste of freedom, but he was never able to get it. He and his crew could leave Maryland but they always had to return back. Not because they were under oath to their country but because of their people. They couldn't leave them there to get tortured by the white man.

He was born and raised in Maryland as a slave to the whites. He and his whole family were slaves. Growing up he always had to obey his superiors so nothing bad would happen to him and his family. He stepped out of line one time because he decided to speak his mind and say something to the one and only "White Shadow". Everybody knew not to step to the White Shadow because he would do the unimaginable to you.

Instead of killing Huey like everyone thought he would do he instead took the life of his father Malcolm Freeman, a man that Huey looked up to since he took after him. The White Shadow knew this and wanted to hurt Huey. After his father died, Huey went into deep depression and fear of the White Shadow. He never feared a white man more than he feared the White Shadow himself. He haunted him everywhere he went, his home, labor, and worst of all his dreams.

Huey has always seen the White Shadow in his dreams. There was no escaping him. The man was literally inhuman. He felt a couple of times he had seen him while going on a quest for the king. He was always just there! He made sure to save up enough money to buy his own boat and make his own crew so that he, his friends, and other individuals within their community could leave their dreadful country.

Of course, there was no escaping since they always had to return back. If they didn't the White Shadow would get them. No one knew how, but he did! There were stories going around about how he would capture the black pirates and bring them back and kill them for committing treason against their country.

Huey wanted to find some form of way to free his people. He would have visions of himself doing it, but how would he do it? How could he, one man alone, free his people? What did he do for this to happen?

He'll never know until the time comes!

We moved to Princess Jazmine of Maryland, she was adored by all her servants in the kingdom, and feared by the outside individuals who assumed she was just like her father, King Wuncler. She was never exposed to the outside world and never got to see the truth of what went on outside the castle walls.

She was raised to believe that everybody got along and treated each other with respect. Her father, King Wuncler wanted to keep her from knowing the truth about the citizens of Maryland. If she were to ever find out she would break the generational bond and make everybody equal.

He had to prevent her from seeing the truth as much as possible. Jazmine Elizabeth Wuncler was to be the next heir to the thrown. Due to her not having any active siblings or any male cousins in her family, the crown was left to her. Her stepbrother Ed Wuncler II died of the Black Death, an infectious fever caused by a bacterium that led to a plague. This left the throne to Jazmine. She was soon going to be taking her father's place once he passed along.

Jazmine was also scheduled to marry Prince Henry of France. They were groomed from a young age to love each other since they would soon be husband and wife. Jazmine never had a conflict with Prince Henry since he was a nice young man who loved and respected her. She was going to have higher power in this marriage since her kingdom was more powerful than his.

They spent almost every summer and special occasion together so they could grow to love each other. Jazmine loved Prince Henry, but not in the way he thought she did. She found him to be a suitable husband, the problem was Jazmine didn't love him as if he were her soulmate. She didn't feel that urge for Prince Henry.

It sadden her that she might never find her soulmate since he could be anywhere around the world. She just knew that she was never going to meet him because of her duties to her country. She couldn't choose the person she wanted to be with for the rest of her life. She had to go by her father's wishes and marry the man he felt would be best for her and their country.

Prince Henry was indeed the best choice since the other suitors were old enough to be her father. Jazmine feared the day she would get married because she had a dark secret she was keeping from Henry, her servants, the people of Maryland, and most of all her father.

Jazmine found out at a young age she was half European and half black. She didn't know why and was confused until her mother told her a deep dark secret that she had been keeping from her father.

Before Queen Sarah of Maryland came to Maryland to marry King Wuncler, she had relations with an old lover from her country. He went by the name of Thomas DuBois. He was a messenger for her kingdom and a trusted man. Although blacks were treated no differently in her country, he still was trusted.

Sarah and Thomas met since he was always delivering her mail. They grew to love each other and have a secret relationship behind her family's back. Before she left to marry King Wuncler, Sarah and Thomas had sexual intercourse as it would be their last time seeing each other.

Sarah left and went on to marry King Wuncler leaving Thomas DuBois in Europe. She missed him and regretted leaving him.

No one knew of this except for her and she had planned to take it to her grave. But that was going to be hard since her daughter came out white, but her hair was curly. Meaning that she was Thomas Dubois's daughter and not Edward Wuncler's. Sarah was scared due to Maryland's despising blacks. She didn't want her daughter, Jazmine to be treated as the rest and she surely didn't want to die because of her intimacy with Thomas DuBois.

Sarah also didn't want them going after Thomas because they would be able to track him down and execute him. If King Wuncler were to ever find out she belonged to Thomas before him things would go badly.

Jazmine was always ashamed of herself because she knew that blacks were treated differently from whites. She was taught to believe that everything was equal, but by the way, she would see her servants getting treated and the way her mother would act when her hair was in its natural form, she understood then that she lived in a discriminated country.

She passed off as a white girl to keep almost everybody in the kingdom sane. The only people who knew she was black were her servants and mother. The servants never peeped a word as they hoped that Jazmine would be their lord and savior for their people. They didn't see Jazmine being a harsh ruler as King Wuncler. Jazmine was a sweet and humbled individual who treated everybody with respect.

She would make a great queen someday but her issues lay with the races individuals in her kingdom. If they were to ever find she was black they would expose her and treat her as the rest. Jazmine didn't want that so she kept her hair straight for 18 years of her life. The thing she never told anybody was she was ashamed to be black. Her other half was a nuisance to her life. She sometimes despised her mother for putting her in a situation like this.

The only person who was on to her secret was the White Shadow. Jazmine grew up with her father telling her how the White Shadow was their protector and guardian. She was supposed to feel protected by him but she feared him for being on her for years.

Jazmine knew that the White Shadow didn't like black people. She would hear her servants talking about the many things he would do to his victims. It scared Jazmine because if he were to ever find out she was half black he would do those things to her too. Plus whenever the White Shadow came around, you could see fear plastered on all the servants' faces.

They feared him and he knew they did. That's how Jazmine was able to catch onto blacks not being treated fairly. Sometimes while being in the same room as the White Shadow, Jazmine would catch him staring at her as if she was prey and he was the predator.

It made her uncomfortable to be around him. As soon as her father passes and she becomes Queen of Maryland, she wants to fire the White Shadow so she can start making changes around the kingdom. She can't do that while he's in her way and blocking her from making peace.

But how will she do that without causing conflict?

If she does choose to let her go what will he do?

She found that the White Shadow sees, hears, and knows everything that goes on around the kingdom. What if he already knows that she's half black and he's just waiting for the perfect time to expose her?

Or maybe he doesn't know...maybe he just wants her to confess!

She has no intentions of doing that. Every night Jazmine prays to God and asks him to have her be brave for her future self. Have her have the courage to make a change in this world and to someday meet someone who will stand alongside her.

Someone who believes in her and also hopes to make a change in the world.

But where is that person at?

She'll never know until it is destined for them to meet each other someday!

Thank you for reading the first chapter of The Pirate Captain & the Princess of Maryland!

Let me know if I should continue with this :)

And a side note, I know Maryland is not a country, I just like how it sounds more like a fantasy.
