Cosmic To Love-Ru is an unofficial continuation of To Love-Ru, taking place directly after To Love-Ru Darkness manga. This is made purely for fun, and wasn't made by the series original authors (Hasemi Saki & Yabuki Kentaro). If you like this script, consider purchasing a copy of the To Love-Ru or To Love-Ru Darkness.

Why make this?
To Love-Ru is a popular manga and anime, but sadly is unlikely to get an official continuation. Both of its creators moved on to other projects. There have been a couple one-shot mangas, but an official serialized continuation is unlikely to be made, at least for a while.

Cosmic To Love-Ru is meant to continue it unofficially. To Love-Ru Darkness ended in a very open-ended way, leaving a lot of room for character development and storytelling.

Why "Cosmic"?

It sounds fun! The characters go into space, so I thought of space-y names, and eventually "Cosmic" came to mind. Something like "To Love-Ru Cosmic?" But Cosmic is an adjective, so it would make sense to put it in front. Therefore, Cosmic To Love-Ru!

Cosmic To Love-Ru is free of cost. It's not meant to take sales from the original manga, or be sold for a profit. If this gets a copyright strike, then I'll take it down. The only reason I'm just going ahead with making this is because there are already a lot of To Love-Ru "fan mangas" out there and none of them have received any copyright strikes.

Our story begins in a strange space station in space. Three shadowey aliens are discussing something, it looks serious...

- Boss: I hope you two realize the stakes at hand.
- Boss: This assignment will not be easy.

We cut to inside the space station.

- ? 2: You make it sound like we haven't risked our lives on a dangerous mission before.
- ? 1: Heh, yea boss, whaz'da the big deal? Whatz so different dis time?
- Boss: It's just that...If you two fail, it's not a loss for us. However, you two will be risking your lives, and I don't want anything bad to happen to either of you.
- Boss: ...We are about to make galactic history, but like every great endeavour, it starts with one small, simple step.
- ? 2: ...We'll be fine. I'll just be sure my brother here doesn't mess anything up.
- ? 1: Heh, and I'll be sure dat I don't mess anythin up!

We cut to a more familiar setting, at Sainen High. The bell rings, class is dismissed! We see Rito walking down the hallway. He appears to be thinking about something...

- (flashback in Rito's head) Momo: Rito, the truth is the harem plan was something I came up with back when I was naive.
- Rito: What am I going to do? Why does this always happen to me?

We cut to the school locker room, the girls are changing out of their school uniform, including the legendary Golden Darkness. However it appears the school is haunted! We see Murasame peering around the corner.

- Murasame: When I tried this with Mea...she was able to rat me out because of her psycho dive.
- Murasame: However, Yami doesn't have that ability. I...hope this works!

She moves behind Yami and casually possesses her. We then cut back to Rito walking in the school hallway.

- Rito: It started 2 years ago, when I met Lala. After that, girls keep finding their way into my life. There's Lala's sisters, Momo and Nana. Nana is indifferent to me... I think. Momo however, is well... different.
- Rito: Haruna... flashback I've had a crush on her since middle school. We promised to finally start going out.
- Rito: Then there's Yami, Mea and Nemesis. Three girls created by a space organization designed to be human weapons. However, they have found new meaning on Earth, and Yami has reunited with her mother, Tearju.
- Rito: And then, there's the others. Run, Yui, is Tenjouin part of this as well? There's a lot of girls who care about me, and that's the issue.
- Rito: To solve all of this, Momo tried to build a harem plan, Logically it would fix this. But now...
- (flashback to what Momo said to him the other day) I—Really want to be someone important to you someday.
- Rito: Hmmmm...
- Saruyama: Hey- Rito!
- Rito: S-Saruyama?
- Saruyama: Can you believe it? This is our last day of school, and after summer break we'll both be in 3rd year!
- Rito: Yeah, Mikan and I will attend the same school...
- Saruyama: ...Hey uhhh...are you alright? You know that you can tell me if something's up...
- Rito: It's nothing. Just...Why do these girls care about me so much? Out of the whole universe, there can't be anything that sets me apart.
- Rito: ...(pause)...I-I'm sorry, that sounded...well you know...
- Saruyama: Haha well, truth is you've changed a lot Rito. You're not shy around girls anymore. Just a couple years ago you couldn't even imagine Haruna in a bikini.
- Rito: (instinctively, he imagines Haruna in a bikini)
- Saruyama: See? Nothin'
- Rito: Wait! H-How did...
- Saruyama: Look, all I'm saying is that I think meeting Lala did some good for you.
- Rito: Well...This did start when I first met Lala. But something about this just doesn't sit right.
- Saruyama: I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, if I had a bunch of cute girls who cared about me, who am I to refuse?

Saruyama pats him on the back, but in doing so, Rito falls down the stairs and into Yui's panties.

- Saruyama: Aah! Sorry Rito!
- Yui: embarrassed then looks away Y-You! (looks away) I-guess it...can't be helped...
- Rito: looks up S-So you'll let me off the hook this time?
- Yui: No, you pervert! slaps Rito

We then cut to Rito walking in the school courtyard, with a suspicious hand-print on his face.

- Rito: (teary eyed) I'd also like to know why that keeps happening- Come to think of it.. our school nurse, Mikado ran an experiment to find out why.

Flashback to when Mikado, Tearju and Rito ran expeiments on him.

- Mikado: I'll put this banana peel in front of Tearju
- Rito: That won't work. If you set that up, I'll know where it is and just know to avoid it...A stray cat! (He slips into Tearju)
- Mikado: What you have in a different dimension from a disease. Neither a core nor treatment is possible...
- Mikado: Or you can just accept it as a talent and put it to good use!

We cut back to the school courtyard.

- Rito: In the end... They believe it to be an act of god. What did they call it? Cataleptic Indecency Syndrome?

Rito sits under a tree in the school courtyard, he looks around. There seems to be nothing but the sound of wind.

- Rito: Nobody in sight. (lays back) Well, at least nothing can happen here!
- Rito: (looks around, still quiet, opens one eye) Huh. Usually when people say that something—
- ? (Yami): RITO!

Suddenly, Yami falls out of the tree and lands on Rito in a suggestive manner! Except... she is completely out of character.

- Rito: Y-Yami!
- Yami: Yuuki Rito... I've finally decided that I will take your life. (trying to act like Yami, but to the audience it's not working. To Rito however...)
- Rito: M-My life?
- Yami: Yes, you are my target after all. Unless...I may make an exception, if you kiss me?
- Rito: Kiss you?!
- Yami: Is it such a bad thing Rito? Do you not like me? It's just a kiss.
- Rito: W-Well...it's n-not that. It's just...
- Rito: (in his head) I can't have my first kiss be with Yami! T-That has to be with Haruna! Why does she want to take my life all of the sudden?!
- Yami: (has her lips puckered, looking at Rito) Well...Rito...are you gonna kiss me or not?
- Rito: I-I- can't I...
- Yami: ...suddenly her phone rings Ring!- Ring!-
- Yami: Hoy! Yami residence!

After someone speaks through the phone, her face turns to shock. Murasame-chan exits her body and faints, Yami grows wings and flies off...somewhere...

- Rito: Oshizu-Chan?
- Momo: suddenly comes out of nowhere Hm, I wonder what got her so worried?
- Rito: Where did you come from?
- Momo: Me? Um... I had nothing to do with this, I swear!
- Rito: (in his head) You expect me to believe that...

Yami leaps from building to building and enters Mikado's office. She enters the building. Mikado, Teauju and Mea are there. It seems like something bad just happened.

- Mikado: Ah, there you are.
- Yami: I tried to get here as quick as I could. So...is it true?
- Mikado: Well normally, I would not consider something like this a cause for concern. However, several planets have already been affected, and it only seems to be getting worse.
- Yami: I see...
- Mea: If I may ask, why doesn't Gid just do something about it?
- Mikado: (pause) He's assigned some people on the case but, it's simply not enough.
- Mikado: But honestly, I just think he doesn't care about it that much. It hasn't directly affected planet Deviluke as of yet.
- Yami: If this is true, then this partially involves us as well. We might have to go into space.
- Mea: Into space? (in her head) I just got so comfortable here on Earth.
- Mea: We can have the others go with us, right?...Yami?
- Yami: Sorry, but it might be better if we just go alone. We can take the Lunatique.
- Mea: Alone?
- Yami: Yeah, it would be safer for everyone else. (She walks out)
- Mea: Sis...
- Mea: (looks at Mikado) Come to think of it, where's Neme-chan?
- Mikado: I don't know, she didn't answer my call.

We then cut to Momo and Rito walking home from school.

- Momo: Hm, I wonder what Yami was so worried about.
- Rito: It... might be best to leave it to her for now.
- (pause)
- Momo: Rito... Are you worried about what I said to you yesterday?
- Rito: ...(stops walking for a bit)...Yeah, among other things.
- Momo: Look Rito (jumps in front of him). I've thought about it last night and despite my feelings, I can't let big sis, Haruna, and the others down like that. So... I will still help you build the harem plan, alright?
- Momo: (mischeviously) Besides, if you wanted a harem so bad you should've just told me from the start!
- Rito: (Doesn't react to the teasing this time)...It's just that...would a harem even solve something like this?
- Momo: Just don't worry about it, okay? Just let me take care of all of it.
- Rito: (in his head) ...Does she really mean that?
- Nemesis: sigh And this is why you never get anywhere...
- Momo and Rito: Nemesis?

Nemesis jumps down from a roof and lands in front of them.

- Nemesis: Rito, don't listen to this fraud. You should leave the harem plan to me and me alone.
- Momo: Who are you calling a fraud?
- Nemesis: Wellll, you haven't done anything but make matters worse. Besides manservant, you still owe me, for getting you to finally confess to Haruna.
- Momo: You don't have to do anything for her Rito...
- Rito: ...Well...she did help me confess...Alright, then why don't you come over for dinner?
- Rito: (Looks at Momo) You wouldn't mind, would you?
- Momo: N-no! I don't mind at all! (In her head) Why does she have to come over? You're not gonna take Rito from me!

Nemesis: suddenly disappears into dark matter and appears on top of a building

- Nemesis: Very well, but it better be good. Or I'll never forgive you-!
- Rito: Uhhh... sure...

We then cut to the Yuuki house, as Rito opens the door.

- Rito: We're home Mikan!...Mikan?

Everyone is sitting in the living room, like they were having a discussion, but everyone in the room has their face drawn long.

- Rito: Umm, why the long faces?
- Yami: Rito... I got a call from Mikado earlier today. The organization that created Mea, Nemesis and I is back, and we've decided to go into space to help stop them.
- Rito: Wait, you mean Eden?
- Yami: Yes, that one.
- Momo: But...that's impossible, wasn't the organization broken up by Kuro many years ago?
- Yami: It was, yes.
- Yami: We don't have much details. However, Mea and I have decided to go up to space, since this threat partially involves us.
- Momo: Into space? Then...let us go with you! Big sis, Nana and I can come along, we can even take Rito and...
- Yami: Sorry, Momo-chan... Mea and I are going alone. Nemesis, you can come if you would like, but that's all.
- Momo: But...why? You three can't just go into space and fight something like that alone.
- Yami: I can't elaborate further, I'm sorry. I have to prepare for going into space again so, I will be leaving now.
- Momo: (in her head) Why would she not want us to go?
- Lala: Wait, Yami! (Comes down the stairs in a towel)
- Yami: (Looks at Lala)
- Lala: If you're going into space alone then do you mind if I improve the Lunatique a bit with some upgrades?
- Yami: Upgrades...?
- Lala: Mhm! I'll improve it with the latest in Deviluke technology.
- Yami: ...Alright, just, please be careful. Lunatique has been my friend throughout the cosmos.
- Lala: Of course, just leave it to me Yami!

Yami eventually gets up and walks out.

- Rito: Y-Yami!..(tries to get up and talk to Yami, but Mikan stops him)
- Mikan: I think she's having conflicting feelings about bringing everyone else into space, you should give her some alone time for a while.
- Mikan: On a side note...WHAT THE HECK IS NEMESIS DOING HERE?! (She frantically points at Nemesis)
- Nemesis: Oh my, am I not welcome?
- Mikan: (gets next to Rito) Rito you better not be up to something perverted!
- Rito: It's nothing like that!
- Mikan: (looks at Mea) Mea, are you staying for dinner?
- Mea: I would love to! However... I have something to go to with Nana, so tonight I have to decline.
- Mikan: Alrighty then...
- Nemesis: Rito was eager to have me for dinne- I mean have me over for dinner! He gave me all these kind words, and said he was gonna do "things" to me tonight, oh how could I resist?
- Rito: T-That's not how it went!
- Mikan: crosses her arms Yeaahhh, I'm not buying that either.
- Rito: -Wait you...aren't?
- Mikan: Alright, you can stay, but you do one perverted thing and you're out of here.
- Nemesis: Mikan, you can put your full trust in me that nothing perverted will happen tonight...

We then cut to later in the day it looks like Nemesis is learning how to cook dinner.

- Nemesis: Um...Mikan?
- Mikan: What?
- Nemesis: she holds up a head of Lettuce What exactly is this?
- Mikan: Have you seriously not heard of lettuce before?!
- Nemesis: You have to excuse me, I'm not quite used to Earth's customs.
- Mikan: It's just lettuce?... Have you even cooked anything before?
- Nemesis: Hm...(long pause)...not really... I've always grazed from planet to planet, so I've never had any need to.
- Mikan: Well it's about time you learn. Here, now take these tomatoes and dice them.
- Nemesis: Dice?...(thinks of a pair of dice, having no idea what she means)
- Mikan: Do you know what I'm talking about?
- Nemesis: Uh-yeah of course I do... I'll just add some dark matter and...

There is an explosion in the kitchen. Inside the kitchen, Nemesis and Mikan fell over and are laying on top of Rito in a suggestive position:

- Nemesis: Ummm...sorry, I'll pick it up!
- Mikan: T-That isn't the only issue here!

Yami is walking by herself, it is getting later out and you can see the sunset and orange sky.

- Yami: (in her head) Was it right for me to walk out like that...?

Suddenly, she hears a yell from nearby. It sounds like someone is in trouble!

- Murasame: Ahhhhhhhhh! Dog! she runs through the crowd of people as Maroon chases after her

As Murasame passes her, Yami turns her hair into the shape of a hand and lightly catches the dog, then opens the palm. Murasame frighteningly looks over Yami's shoulder.

- Maroon: Arf!
- Haruna: Maroon!
- Murasame: Haruna!
- Haruna: Thank you Yami! Maroon slipped out of his leash and I couldn't catch him.

We cut to Yami and Murasame walking down the sidewalk together.

- Murasame: I'm sorry Yami.
- Yami: It's alright, I know you are scared of dogs.
- Murasame: Well that too, but...
- Murasame: Earlier today, I took control of your body to seduce Rito. And... I-I took it to far this time, all to get Rito to kiss you, and...truth is I feel guilty about it.
- Yami: Rito is the one you should apologize to...
- Yami: But...it's alright, I could have stopped you if I wanted.
- Murasame: Stopped me?
- Yami: Well..I've always had the ability to know when I am out of character, and prevent it if necessary. (She thinks back)

Rito: Yami! What's that you're wearing?

Yami: I transformed my clothes

Yami: Why did you say no...to the kiss...

- Murasame: And that's how you were able to stop me from possessing you... So...w-wait! If that's the case then why didn't you do it earlier?
- Yami: ...I was curious.
- Murasame: Curious?
- Yami: Yes, about what would happen if Rito went through with it...
- Yami: (changes the conversation) Murasame, I have to go into space to stop a threat from my past. But I don't want to risk their lives, all over something that I brought them into. Why am I...telling her this?
- Murasame: Oh, you mean the return of Eden?
- Yami: (surprised) You've heard about it?
- Murasame: Uh, yeah, it's all over the galactic news!
- Murasame: Ummm...honestly I don't know what you should do but, if they want to go then in a way I feel like you'd be letting them down.
- Yami: I see...

We cut back to Mikan, Nemesis and Rito eating dinner at the table.

- Mikan: Well despite some setbacks, dinner came out okay.
- Nemesis: Hey at least I cleaned everything up.
- Mikan: Yeah, I suppose that's true (sips tea)

Pause...

- Rito: ...I-I'm sorry, I just can't let Yami walk out like that. I'm going to go try to find her.
- Mikan: Are you sure? You don't even know where she is.
- Momo: I'll go too, I'm sure we can both find her.

Momo and Rito run out of the Yuuki residence. "Yami! Where are you?"
