Disclaimer: I don't own Dragon Ball Super, it belongs to their makers, only the OC and the plot are mine!
Well I was inspired by an episode from the series Chicago Med, and I love that series.
I write this story to honor all the people including a cousin of mine, who are fighting against every kind of cancer ok?
A soul is watching the sunset, but is reviving the loss of a friend due to cancer...it was almost saved but at the end of the road passed away...
A certain naive Saiyan went to her to understand what happened, and he learned her story...about this patient and the fact she had cancer in the recent past and how the Z fighters helped her to overcome it.
Will he understand and learn about lies underneath the fragile façade of this soul?
Read and discover!
Strength to live...
A soul is watching the sunset on a beach...
Watch the waves roll on the beach, absorbed in what's going on in her mind...
Think about how she left the USA to go to work as an Emergency Nurse in the country where she is, Japan... and she has been there for a few years, and where she met her new friends...
Perhaps it is nostalgia?
But something happened... And why does a tear roll down her cheek? What happened?
It had been something that had happened the day before at her workplace, and what happened was out of her control... it couldn't do anything no matter how hard she tried.
Yes, the fact that she had lost a patient to cancer, and she knew that all it took was a bone marrow transplant to heal this type of cancer that her patient had.
Why all that affection for him? Like him, this soul had also had cancer, but hers was breast cancer and they both did the treatments together, but she managed to beat hers while he continued, but she always supervised the treatment of that same patient.
When she found out that this patient had arrived due to the flu he had, and when she learned from a colleague that he was going to receive the bone marrow within a week, was very pleased and even talked to him.
She learned that he had a lot of fever, which was not good at all due to the proximity of the day of the transplant.
But she felt that something wasn't right with him and that was mentioned, which left her a step behind...perhaps...
Noticed in the files that his values were below normal for someone who was going to receive a transplant in a week's time.
Then saw that the patient in question was weak and too pale for her liking... She was aware that cancer patients are immunosuppressed and that a simple cold was enough for things to take a different turn.
And noticed something else... But it could also be an impression because she thought the team that accompanied him at that moment was very cold towards him...
Does the procedure for these patients vary from country to country?
Or is it the people? Because when she was doing her treatment like Radiotherapy, there was a lot of warmth.
She wanted him to feel that she would be by his side until the end of the transplant process...
Because of that, decided to raise donors for her patient and friend... to see if it could get a donor for that day, even against the orders of the clinical director because there had been an accident that required more resources than a simple blood draw, but there were people on the waiting room who offered to help her get blood samples.
Later she went to the lab with the samples to make sure he could get one, which in fact happened, but it was too late... When she got there to give the news to the poor man… the team was reviving this patient, she tried to revive him but to no avail... he couldn't hold it and died, which brought her down.
When the Clinical Director saw her like this, she realized and called her to go to a window that looked outside, "Aurora... Look at the lives you've helped save... just because of trying to get a donor for the late Mr. Itsu." The girl sees a large amount of people in wheelchairs, "All these people?" The Clinical Director replies, "... and much more Aurora."
The girl closes her eyes, smiling at the thought of what happened.
Then feels a strong hand on her shoulder, and she turns, seeing a tall and muscular man in a combat suit and with a green fur tied around his waist, "Broly?" He replies, "Bulma is looking for you, Aurora." She said, "It wasn't my intention to worry all of you, Broly." The Saiyan notices her mood, "I may not be very good at reading people, but I feel like something has happened." Aurora takes a deep breath, "You must know that I am an ER Nurse at the Central Hospital in the city where Bulma lives." One nod and he continues to listen to her, "You must also know about that big bus accident with children that happened yesterday?" Broly replies, " Yes... Gohan was worried about his daughter." Aurora just says, "Thank God it wasn't Pan's school bus."
Broly continues to try to read Aurora and continues to hear, "You may also be aware that sometimes I lose patients due to certain causes, whether natural or not, which is very difficult in this profession." Broly replies, "Yes, Cheelai explained it to me a little bit."
Aurora's tone changes, "They also told you that I was very sick and undergoing treatment that demanded a lot from me and my body." Broly replies, "Kakarot told me, they even wanted to ask the holy Dragon to heal you but you refused." She nods, "Yes, all before I met you, Broly.
But during that time I met another person with the same disease but in another part of the body.
We spent a year doing this treatment and shared a lot of things, including the fact that he needed a bone marrow donor."
Broly is stunned by what he hears, "But you're here without that disease." She replies, "Because I had it at the first stage, mine was different from him.
You know... I had one breast removed and it went into remission and I started working again and he continued with treatments to stay alive." She took off the scarf that covered her short hair, "Broly I fought a lot with this disease, I lost a lot of strength, I had unbearable pain, I lost my immunity and that was reflected in my hair." He saw her short hair, Bulma told him that Aurora's hair was so pretty, with long black locks, it was quite a sight!
Aurora lost her beautiful locks while making Chemo and later Radio if she wanted to stay alive and defeat her sickness for good.
Broly notices that his friend is still weak and fragile but nevertheless, there is something that made her move forward, "Aurora, how did you manage to overcome it?" She puts her hand on the Saiyan's chest, "The will to live is very strong and something else..." The other raises his eyebrow, very curious "Tell me." She finishes, "My friends... From Songoku to Vegeta, everyone has always been by my side." Broly looks at that simple human woman who, despite being weak, manages to be stronger than all of them combined.
"I..."
She closes her eyes taking a deep breath, "Do you know what Mr. Itsu said to me before he died?" A nod, "No, Aurora." Then she focuses her gaze on the horizon" He knew he was in a very bad way and had faith that he would resist and smiled saying;
"You know, Aurora... I hang in there, sometimes able to face and defeat the whole world, and other times we feel on our knees and defeated, ups and downs constantly.
I don't know if I'll have the strength to continue."
Then he looks at me and holds my hand like there's no tomorrow, " But this time I feel like it's different... I don't know what it is, but I feel it."
And he fell asleep for the last time before passing hours later." Broly notices that she speaks fondly about that person, "He marked you, didn't he?" She nods, "Yes because we were a year together doing radiotherapy, we went through a lot, Broly." He understands the reason for her sadness.
"I never thought..."
Their conversation is interrupted, "Well, Aurora?" The girl sees Vegeta, "Are you better, Aurora?" The girl looks at him, "Yes I am Vegeta, thank you." Then she hears, "Then let's go, for we can't make Bulma wait." Aurora smiles, "Of course, Vegeta." The three of them go straight to the pool, and the older Saiyan asks, "Have you been training Aurora?" The girl replies, "I train an hour a day Vegeta." Broly is astonished, "Do you know how to fight?" She nods, "Yes, I know, but I don't have powers like yours, nor do I know how to fly or anything." Vegeta just says, "But you're not bad at fighting, you're a great training partner." Aurora tells Broly, "Martial arts also helped me fight my cancer, Vegeta made me see that alongside Songoku." Broly doesn't know what to say.
The girl hears a question, "Why didn't you let them call the Sacred Dragon to heal you?" She replies, "Because I didn't want others to fight for me, that's all.
Death is part of the cycle of life... and refusing the Holy Dragon's help made me think about my mortality and the immense will to live I had." Broly looks at her without uttering a word.
Vegeta knows that she has an extremely strong mind and that she is a fighter, due to which he smiles.
"Aurora is giving Broly something to think about, I think she's teaching him because he can't just be limited to our teachings and Cheelai's.
It feels good for him to listen and learn to live life through new experiences and ways of thinking." And he continues to watch Broly.
The three of them join the others who are there and Bulma approaches, "Aurora, how do you feel?" The girl in question replies, "Better, thanks to Broly who listened to me." Bulma just says, "Good.
Yesterday you had a difficult day, you lost a friend but at the same time you saved a lot of lives." Broly is speechless, Goku notices, "Are you in shock?" The Saiyan in question replies, "Yes... how did someone as fragile and weak as Aurora do all this?
How can you do that if you're not like us?" Piccolo, who had meanwhile overheard the conversation, replies, "Because it is in her weakness that Aurora has found her greatest strength." Broly looks at Aurora, "I..." Broly feels a hand on his arm, "Don't worry Broly, I wasn't offended." The Saiyan in question only says, "I've never met a human with a personality and strength like yours Aurora, I think I have a lot to learn from you." She smiles, finishing,
"And me too, Broly." Dende is pleased with what he hears, because in front of him is someone who has fought and overcome a disease that kills many people, and to make sure that same disease would not attack her again, he puts his hands on her and heal her once and for all.
Aurora felt, "Dende?" He just shrugs, "Ooops... it's stronger than me." She smiles, " Just you, Dende. "
Everyone just hears, "What if we go on with our party, guys? There is plenty to eat and drink and of course, lots of music to hear and dance!" Bulma suggests.
As is normal, everyone goes to the Buffet including the two divine beings who are there who had observed the last events, "That human will give a lot to talk about, don't you think, my lord?" Remarked Whis, "No doubt it is a blessing in disguise." Beerus finishes off, and he begins to devour the food he has on his plate.
"I think Broly will learn a lot from this human, who despite being weaker than us, manages to have more strength and courage than all of us combined." Whis heard Beerus and has to agree, Aurora is a simple human who has managed to get into their midst and give them great life lessons." Not bad for a simple Emergency Nurse." The Angel murmurs.
The two Divine beings observe that simple human who entered everyone's heart with her strength to live and fight against half the world without ever controlling Ki or flying, Aurora is here to stay.
End.
What do you think folks?
